Reviews for M Motel Ashland
Review 1:The hotel was a little bit far from dowtown Ashland proper, but that's no big deal.
Review 2:We had come to Ashland for a concert on the SOU campus, so this location was perfect, especially for the price.
Review 3:See above
Review 4:Nice staff. Mixed up our charge and so we had to add another charge to the bill. Very uncomfortable bed. My partner even brought in a camping mat and sleeping bag to sleep on the floor!
Review 5:The bed was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, the accommodations were minimalist but covered all the bases (the shower stall was elegantly tiled, but a light over it would have helped), and everything was clean.
Review 6:We had a "full" room. It was not very big and wasn't worth the $100 per night that I spent. We were in the street side room and it was very noisy.
Review 7:The staff and location were great. I would stay again...but not in the "full" room near busy Siskiyou Blvd.
Review 8:Air conditioner from the roaring 60's. Wifi mostly did not work, like year before. No progress there. Too expensive for what it is.
Review 9:Room looked nice, bed was comfortable, shower great
Review 10:No horizontal shelves in bathroom to put out 2 travel bags and have roomfor each person's use. Over the toilet shelve is worrisome. Needmore room for waist height access to 2 luggage pieces plus room to workaround luggage area. Had zero room to fix food. Stacking a microwave ontop of a dorm refrigerator does not work. Need 2 bedside tables orshelves, plus lights for night time access. No coffee pot or coffee, etc. instructions on how to acquire both took inquiry. Given the aboveroom cost per night should have been $40 cheaper.
Review 11:Clean, fresh furnishings
Review 12:Walls were too thin, decor was cold and the AC didn't cool the bedroom area at all. Bed was lumpy and towels were very thin.
Review 13:location and single story type of motel
Review 14:Bed had a large depression in middle which made it hard for two people to share. The room was rather small for two queen beds.
Review 15:Location was close to college which is what we wanted. The shower was large and updated as well as sink and toilet.
Review 16:On the night we stayed it was the middle of a heat wave plus there were fires not too far from Ashland so our experience was not 100% terrific. The air conditioner is pretty noisy and we had to run it all night due to the unusual heat conditions.
Review 17:Our room wasn't cleaned after the first night, so no fresh towels, we didn't ask, but I'm sure they would have accommodated us.
Review 18:Cool pool in 104 degree weather, close to SOU campus and 1 mile to downtown Ashland plays.
Review 19:The rooms lacked a mirror, blow dryer, coffee, and were similar to a jail cell. The maids did not make up our room until after 4pm. There was a man next door who smoked nonstop on the front porch so we could not open the window (I think he lived there). The pool only had 3 lounges and was over chlorinated. The place was way over priced compared to the Palms next door. Big mistake staying at the Ahland Motel.
Review 20:The young man who checked us in was nice and gave a good pizza cafe recommendation.
Review 21:We arrived at end of the day after long drive. Staff at check-in was cordial but less than helpful. We asked about restaurants - he simply gave us a pamphlet listing restaurants - no advise. Nor did he even mention Morning Glory restaurant next door for breakfast - we saw it ourselves. Since you are a long way from downtown, advise should be given about parking downtown - limits, where parking is most likely found - what streets do not have time limits - the nicely located pay parking for $3 with no time limit.
Review 22:Good price. Recently upgraded. Room and shower were very good. No counter space with sink, although there was a small shelf. Exterior leaves something to be desired - has poor curb appeal - if we were just driving by we would not have stopped. Morning Glory restaurant next door was charming with excellent breakfast menu - highly recommend it.
Review 23:The maid was not spectacular. The shower was dark.
Review 24:Dee was delightful. There was a table with two chairs. The bed was comfortable. The location was a mile from the festival and close to a market.
Review 25:This appears to be an older motel from its exterior appearance, which is dated architecturally but recently repainted and well maintained. The rooms themselves have been repainted, and there are completely new bathrooms, new beds and other basic furniture, flat-screen TVs and modern lighting, microwaves and mini-refrigerators. Ashland hotels and motels tend to be pricey during season due to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Ashland motel is comfortable, convenient, and excellent value. The staff and resident owner are helpful and friendly. What more can you ask for?
Review 26:The wifi exists but is so weak as to be virtually useless for getting on Internet and only randomly strong enough to get and send email Motel staff had no valid answer for this - our room was one of 3 closest to lobby. Upgrade or stop advertising that you have wifi
Review 27:The bottom fitted sheet did not indeed fit the mattress. Any slight turn and the sheet came off and began engulfing the sleeper. I fought with this awful sheet for three nights. Won't go back if the sheets are the same.
Review 28:The staff was very accommodating with changes that we asked for. The rooms were clean and minimal. It was high season and the price for the room was very reasonable.
Review 29:The Ashland Motel. Nothing to sit on except the bed and toilet, no phone, dirty entrance, clock/radio didn't work AND I was locked out one morning and could not get help because the office was closed.Way, way over priced!
Review 30:The weather, town and plays were very good.
Review 31:Small room next to busy road made it hard to sleep.
Review 32:Welcoming staff who were eager to provide service. Quick walk to town and near restaurants, 7-11 and fer wry store. Good value.
Review 33:WiFi a little slow ended up using data instead.
Review 34:Newly remodeled, simple decor, comfortable and quiet. The staff here gave me the best service I've seen in the hotel business in a long time. They asked us what they could do for us, listing amenities they offered, then promptly brought them. Bravo Ashland Motel.
Review 35:20 min walk to downtown, friendly check-in staff. Quiet, clean neighborhood. While the room had an austere feel to it, it served the purpose of a clean, safe place to stay one night.
Review 36:Smallish room, but was clean and adequate for our short stay.
Review 37:the staff was wonderful when I had to drop one night's stay due to family emergency. Appreciated that! Also the close location to Morning Glory for breakfast was wonderful
Review 38:It was very minimal. All furniture was garage like quality. Nothing was beyond basic.
Review 39:It was basic and okay. We slept fine. The grassy park area with the picnic table was very nice for breakfast.
Review 40:I'm a bit of a minimalist and I enjoyed the fact that the room wasn't cluttered the shower was awesome the woman who checked us in was very nice.
Review 41:One window box air conditioner in living room, none in bedroom. Sweltering heat. Street noise made sleeping in morning impossible.
Review 42:Bathroom has modern fixtures.
Review 43:The room was tiny, the air conditioner/fan was practically on top of the bed and very loud. Check in time was 1:00 but we weren't able to check in until almost 4:00. The registration desk isn't staffed from evening until late morning. Our room was right on busy street, lots of traffic noise.
Review 44:Clean, comfortable bed, nice wood floor, decent shower and bathroom.
Review 45:I found that the bed was a bit like sleeping on a futon. And the water pressure in the shower could have been a bit more forthcoming. And I didn't particularly like the parking lot lights shining in through my blinds so late at night.
Review 46:I liked that it was cozy and yet had everything I needed. Loved how it was remodeled--tasteful and simple. Loved the hard wood floors. And I loved how close it is to the University--made registering my daughter a breeze. And I also enjoyed the walk to and from the bricks area where the OSF is located--it is a lovely walk, if you enjoy walking.
Review 47:The bed was ROCK hard. I generally prefer that to a soft bed, but my God, I didn't even know they made beds that hard. It wasn't your typical hard bed..not even sure what it was. The two inch thick futon my friend had in college in the 80s was more comfortable. As much as I liked the place, sadly, I won't be able to stay there again for that reason. :( Additionally, there were no curtains in the room and the horizontal blinds just didn't block the view. Anyone could have been watching me sleep so I wasn't thrilled, especially as a woman traveling alone. (This is minor, and might even be in the owner's remodel plan: the room I was in had a small entry way with a futon on one side was a great bathroom with a walk in shower (perk) and on the other side you had a big step down (!?) into the bedroom. I think if they raised the floor in the bedroom and knocked out the wall it would feel better and be safer....but whatever. Change the bed and I'll come back!
Review 48:The place was super clean and cute- I liked the modern boutique feel of it. I really appreciate the hardwood floors, because it is SO much cleaner. My chief complaint about hotels is what other people have left behind and the cleaners used to try and mask it. Not here- it felt as clean as it looked and it looked clean.
Review 49:Quality of room and smoke in the air. Lots of THC smoke and cigarettes outside
Review 50:Ease of booking and staff
Review 51:the pillows were stinky and stained with sweat
Review 52:The staff were fantastic, great resource for information
Review 53:A little pricey for the size of the room but I get it. It's near the festival.
Review 54:Musty smell, bored staff.
Review 55:Didn't seem clean, dog hair on rug. Toilet clogged
Review 56:Wifi, pool
Review 57:Kitchen hardly worth the name. Frig not cold, coffee maker broken . But staff did replace coffee maker.
Review 58:Recently remodeled. Bed very comfortable.
Review 59:Pool, great location, close to SOU and plays. Could eat in room, but no utensils available.
Review 60:Small rooms, noisy fans
Review 61:Location, clean rooms
Review 62:Too pricey for the quality of the Motel.
Review 63:The office staff were very accommodating and helpful with dining selections!
Review 64:Very clean simple decor. Roses very sweet and charming.
Review 65:old motel - very well redone, simple, modern, clean!
Review 66:made you fell welcome...but first room was too small for our purpose...and they were most helpful to make a change
Review 67:Pull out couch small and uncomfortable.
Review 68:Location great to restaurants and Shakespeare Festival. Lovely shower in the room.
Review 69:Would have liked a coffee pot.
Review 70:Liked the separation between sleeping area and sitting area. Also the shower was beautiful.
Review 71:Great location and clean
Review 72:Room was classified a single but was a bit surprisingly small. Outside of the motel wasn't much to look at.
Review 73:Cute room inside and a nice location.
Review 74:Poor wifi
Review 75:Noisy, smelly, unclean, depressing.
Review 76:Old, cheap, furniture and a very sterile room.
Review 77:Comfortable bed and pillows, good Wi Fi, and a very clean room.
Review 78:Sparsely furniture - old -a little stark!!!
Review 79:The location was great --the room was reasonably clean.
Review 80:The room was incredibly tiny and didn't have a chair. There were stains, which made me question the bedding, dust on the floor, the walls were dirty in spots in the bathroom, and the air conditioning unit made the air smell like burned popcorn. I will not go back.
Review 81:The bed was comfortable and the shower nice.
Review 82:The walls between bedrooms are thin and voices resonate through, which was a problem for our neighbors (sorry). The location was a little far from the center of town if you are walking.
Review 83:Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, good value. Staff member Jessica was lovely and very helpful.
