Reviews for Kemble Inn and Table Six Restaurant
Review 1:Droning noise at night- don't get room 2 as it sounded like a dishwasher/washing machine going all night. No facilities other than room and sitting room locked one evening. No water or coffee. Unable to use restaurant as full one evening and closed next night. No prior emails encouraging us to book. The Inn has real potential but overall really disappointed. Our worst location in two weeks in New England
Review 2:The bedroom was very tasteful and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent
Review 3:The gorgeous mountain setting, the exquisite and historic facility and its proximity to cultural events, the fantastic cuisine by Ron and Ian, and the attention to detail by the staff were flawless. My cousin and I, who traveled together, are anticipating a return to Kemble next Tanglewood season hoping to reconnect with all. Thank you so much for providing a haven from our complicated and fast-paced world.
Review 4:Went to Lenox for a wedding of a very good friend--as a result of mychronic procrastination, the hotel the bride and groom were able to geta group rate at was sold out. I was so glad I stayed at the Kemble. Sucha gorgeous hotel in the middle of the Berkshires. And I was able toupgrade to an amazing room upon arrival for a small fee. Recommend it!
Review 5:We had expected the food in the restaurant to be better.
Review 6:The views of snow-covered trees and hills from a picture window in the lounge. Sitting before a roaring fire, looking out of the picture window and reading. The manager and staff were helpful and friendly. Our bedroom was elegant, handsome and comfortable.
Review 7:Dreadful pop music playing through all meals. Many staff said they disliked it but when turned off it was invariably turned on again. The menu for dinner was also somewhat eccentric with only small plates- tapas type food on several evenings.
Review 8:Location. The terrace and garden. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts
Review 9:They tried to give us a room that was in a waitstaff area and I had to refuse the room. They were apologetic and moved us to a quiet room.
Review 10:The room was great
Review 11:We booked a room on booking.com and when we arrived there we were put in a room in the attic! It was an old room not refurbished and the manager blamed Booking.com for this situation. After telling them that we would be checking out in the AM they moved us to a different room which was very nice but noisy! It was difficult for an older couple to get into the bed because the step ladder was only on one side of the bed. The room was over a library that had music on Saturday night till 11 pm.... It was a tough weekend and I would never return nor recommend to anyone else.
Review 12:The food at Table Six was outstanding although we really didn't know that it was basically a priced fixed dinner.
Review 13:My room was on the third floor, which must have been the servants' quarter at one point. In desperate need of an upgrade. Stained carpeting in the room, faded furniture, were a turn off and jarred with the tasteful downstairs. The worst part was that it was freezing, and my room had no control over the AC, as it was a floor-controlled feature. I had to have two extra blankets to sleep. Forget lounging in the floor. It was too darn cold to do anything. At this price, which is inflated for the summer for sure, I except comfort.
Review 14:The building is beautiful, with an expansive view of the Berkshires. Table Six is wonderful, and the staff is attentive.
Review 15:When I called for a wake up call, no one answered. There should be an elevator. There is no apparent handicapped considerations.
Review 16:Close to concert venue. Very attentive and friendly staff. The view is wonderful.
Review 17:Price. Friends stayed at Cranwell for similar price and no comparison. Would not return for Cranwell level prices.
Review 18:Overall service and atmosphere. Very well trained and friendly staff.
Review 19:Room had a paper number scotch taped to the door, no view as promised, fire extinguisher was sticking out of wall, plug socket exposed. I had to send my meal back because it was rock hard, and badly prepared. Ignored by waitstaff for 20 minutes sitting out in the evening. After dinner coffee, was very cold. Very expensive and highly over rated. Will not return and will discourage others from staying here.
Review 20:Very little to recommend.
Review 21:Unrenovated rooms are truly shabby. Ripped and stained bedskirt, old bedspread. 3rd floor windows are covered oddly with boards....and some windows remain uncovered with outside lights shining in till 12:30 am when they mercifully turn off.
Review 22:renovated rooms look great. The outside porch is fabulous. A wonderful place to have breakfast in the morning or a drink before dinner. The staff is friendly and they do try hard....
Review 23:Next time I will be sure to inquire WHERE in the Inn my room is located, since I booked many months in advance, was surprised when we were escorted to a 3rd floor room. Due to the age of the inn, there is no elevator, tho the exercise was an added bonus & didn't hurt me one bit! Staff were sweet & helped bring bags down to our car. Carpets in 3rd story access hallways, stairwells, & our room were worn, stained & should be be professionally cleaned soon, or replaced. With the Inn under new management, would imagine they have that on their upcoming "to do" list.
Review 24:The Kemble Inn is a beautiful 138 year old mansion that sits on a fabulous property. Recent renovations are timely, nicely done, & create a sense of today, mixed with a bit of yesteryear. Salvatore, the manager is a delight! The visiting student interns are a great addition to the American staff & all provide a nice opportunity to chat, learn about their home countries, their areas of interest/study, travel abroad experiences --- another layer of what makes the Kemble Inn a great destination. The chefs are to be commended! Loved the breakfast selections (perfectly poached eggs were my favorite), and the dinner menus were outstanding. Wonderful martinis, too -- guests MUST try the Berkshire Thyme! The close proximity to Tanglewood & the Shed made it an easy to drive for James Taylor's annual concert, which was FABULOUS (despite the rain storms). The room was spacious, with a nicely appointed mix of mid-century modern meets Manhattan bachelor pad chic. It had a lovely view over the valley & did have a large private bath. I hope to return to the Kemble Inn & book a 2nd floor room --- they look lovely.
Review 25:Beautifully decorated rooms and lounge area. Attentive service. Excellent breakfast. Lovely views from some rooms, and mostly very quiet.
Review 26:Great view from back porch friendly staff. Several were French with great accents. Breakfasts different each day. Plenty of food . Will tell others.
Review 27:As nice as it is, it is still greatly overpriced.
Review 28:Room was beautiful and large.
Review 29:The bed was fabulous. Great breakfast, nice bathrooms.
Review 30:Young staff caring but with very little wxperience. There needs to be a manager....some one in charge.
Review 31:Ambiance and breakfast.
Review 32:Breakfast was outstanding.
Review 33:Very personal service. Attention to detail. Surprisingly good food.
Review 34:noisy kitchen extractor fan outside our room 206 spoiled our 2 nights stay.
Review 35:location, lovely setting.
Review 36:Price was a little on the high side.
Review 37:Staff attentive and polite. Great breakfast included. Salvador (GM) very attentive to our requests.
Review 38:Our room could use somemore updating, very stained and dirty carpet.
Review 39:Location was excellent, staff very friendly, charming country inn.
Review 40:Public areas were very nice . Our bath was excellent . Bedroom drapes and bed coverings were also high end and beautiful , however the tables and other furniture were dated and in worn condition. Overall we enjoyed the Inn and the restaurant , we are returning for another night this week !
Review 41:The inn was so well appointed and no detail was left untouched. The staff (Jackie and company) were so kind to upgrade my new husband and I last minute after I inquired about other rooms available - a nice touch! The staff was fabulous, professional, friendly, and the inn was so quaint. We look forward to returning. Dinner at Table Six was phenomenal and breakfast was out of this world.
Review 42:We liked the location so near to a lovely New England small town. Attention to detail and quality of accommodation. Friendly, helpful staff and a great breakfast.
Review 43:Need more light in room to read. Air conditioning needs to be individually controlled for each room. Four poster bed blocked TV viewing from Bed in Room 201. Would like desk in rooms.
Review 44:Decor, Location, Food, Staff, Grounds
Review 45:Fantastic service guys
