Reviews for White Oaks Hotel

Review 1:The bed was too close to one wall. The breakfast was cold cereal and the whole facility is in need of upgrading and undergoing repairs.

Review 2:The manager was very nice and helpful. Very courteous

Review 3:No staff at front desk at all times; no answer on phone provided at front desk; checking out took much longer & needed to pay in cash because of error by front desk person.

Review 4:Location. Although this place needs a lot of updating, the potential is huge. The place was actually fully booked, much to our surprise, despite it's shabby appearance.

Review 5:the price of 166 was too much for an old and not well care facility. there is minimum staff and not very well organized.

Review 6:the location is nice. not the building. looks like owners dont want to invest in manintenance and upgrading. There is a large area where now a big and 'dry' swimming pool seats. Also a nice area to play voleyball (volleyball net in place)where once it was green.

Review 7:The hotel didn't have a/c but didn't advertise that. I have a service dog and they we're going to charge a fee even after I showed him the ADA website. My room had no soap etc and only one set of towels. The breakfast was only corn flakes and white toast, coffee and watered down cranberry juice. The lobby got locked up at 9pm so we couldn't get to the ice machine. The swimming pool was empty so our kids couldn't swim as promised. The staff said they were 'renovating' but there was no sign of any kind of construction etc. we would have left but it was too late to think about looking for another place.

Review 8:The location was easy to find

Review 9:A/C did not work-wiring for remodeling not installed yet. Had weird feeling staying there--was remodeling, but just had uneasy feeling about location and overall atmosphere.

Review 10:Good lighting in bathroom. Manager very nice. Washer and dryer worked well.

Review 11:I waited several minutes at the lobby to checkout and no ever came. I ended leaving the keys and then came back 20 minutes later and the keys where in the same spot.

Review 12:The entire property is very run-down and needs a lot of attention.

Review 13:My room was clean and the noise level is very low. The manager (Robert) was extremely friendly and accommodating.

Review 14:We have been charged an extra $100 for our one night stay and no idea why. They are not answering phone or emails. Included breakfast ran out very early and no staff to be found anywhere - we learned this was normal

Review 15:manager was very welcoming and chatty.

Review 16:Beer bottle cap on bed makes me wonder how thoroughly the room was attended to. Staff availability is extremely limited.

Review 17:Staff was super friendly. Rooms were easily accessible. Microwave and fridge in room makes up for lack of restaurant options near motel.

Review 18:The facility is completely deteriorated. Everything from sheets to fixtures are 20 -50 years old. Paint peeling, mildew stains on bath ceiling etc., We stayed here to attend a graduation of a relative and we were on a budget and everything seemed to be booked. But it really felt more like an overnight stay in a third world country than in California.

Review 19:Administratively seamless....booked on line...the room was there...we checked in, no problem, checked out the next day. However billing practice unusual....card charged prior to arrival (one week) and then additional 100$ charged after departure which stayed on account for a few days. Total cost of room should be better approximated at time of booking. $20 over listed price with tax and/or fee.

Review 20:Price way to high. No outside lights, smells, tub water doesn't go down when showering, tv is way out dated, I would say that this hotel is as bad as a motel 6

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:Place was empty. The guests that were there were all sent to the back of the property. All in the same bldg while the whole front of the motel looked abandoned. It felt like I was in a ghetto apartment bldg. people drinking n smoking in the parking lot. Property maintenance was horrible. White chairs everywhere and grass hadn't been cut in weeks. It was a far walk for continental bkfst. That's why everyone was placed at the rear so no one would go to the office To eat. And the old fashioned tube television added to our discomfort. And no AC , office lent me a table fan.

Review 23:I liked checking out.

Review 24:well the parking lot was very dark it didn't have any outside lighting, the room had a hole in the wall, the beds were not very comfortable, there was a taping in the wall and ceiling the best i can guess is it was a water line that was not strapped down properly, the blow dryer was broken and the toilet clogged. well that's pretty much it.

Review 25:The staff was very friendly, rooms where clean and it looked like they are updating the rooms. they did serve breakfast (toast and cereal). in a pinch i would stay again (in a pinch).

Review 26:It was sad to see everything that had once been - a closed pool area, a broken volleyball net, a dried out garden...

Review 27:Things were ok, nice and helpful staff, a laundry room for guests, a simple breakfast, an ok room

Review 28:The decor, furniture and appliances were seriously outdated. Especially the tv. Though the room rate was very reasonable, you really get what you pay for here, which is not much.

Review 29:The location is nice. The oak forest right outside our website was nice to look at. The manager was friendly (although we had to call him from a phone at the front desk to check in... Which was kind of strange).

Review 30:While improvements are being made to the appearance of the buildings, the rooms are extremely quiet, comfortable and clean. We checked in very late, and the gentleman behind the desk was a pleasure to talk to and laugh with. Our room had a view of open space with chairs under trees...quite a nice treat.

Review 31:There was no AC system and upon entering the room it was quite stuffy I had to ask for a fan to make the room for comfy for myself...I also did not like that the following morning there was no one at the front desk to check me out. And finally I was charged twice when called to check they were unable to explain why...

Review 32:Excellent views.

Review 33:The place is in disrepair. It looks like it is about to close or it is about to be repaired and then reopened. It does not look like it is open for business and yet it is.

Review 34:The amount of space in and around the hotel is good. The room was large and comfortable. The pool area could be beautiful if it were fixed up and open.

Review 35:Still a little rough around the edges as they remodel but well worth it to be away from the hustle and bustle of the usual hotels.

Review 36:The property is a beautiful spot to enjoy the oak woodlands and relax. The room was comfortable and spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely return!

Review 37:The smoke detector alarming two different times after midnight due to burning popcorn from the floor below, no air conditioning, no locking windows, dirty carpet with dead bugs on it, no water in the swimming pool, dead grass everywhere, and the cost for all of this was RIDICULOUSLY high. I will never stay there again. It would have been safer in my car!

Review 38:The staff person was helpful and friendly

Review 39:EVERYTHING was absolutely a nightmare! The room had not been cleaned and I helped put clean sheets on the bed. I then waited for the desk clerk to clean the room. The maintenance both inside and outside was a total disaster. I didn't feel safe in any way because of the terrible condition of this place. The sliding door lock didn't work and opened to the parking lot. There was a board on the track of the sliding door in place of a lock. I got very little sleep because I was on edge. This hotel needs to be shut down and sold to someone who will clean it up and manage it correctly.

Review 40:The desk clerk, Robert, was nice.

Review 41:Dirty, filthy no maid service room still had trash from last guest and bed not made. Nice size swimming pool too bad it had NO H2O, NO A/C went to sleep with windows opened all night.

Review 42:Very Quiet.

Review 43:The Continental breakfast was a joke. We weren't expecting anything like Starbucks, however this coffee shouldn't be labeled as coffee. The Croissant was so old, we had to toss it. Poor utilization of space, large room to walk around and then a tiny bathroom to get ready in. It certainly didn't warrant $120.00 a night, 1/2 of that price would have been realistic for this facility.

Review 44:The clerk who checked us in was very courteous and was the only redeeming part of the stay.

Review 45:Completely run down. Very old and dingy. No a/c. No breakfast except cereal. Kinda creepy and scary.

Review 46:Close to the freeway.

Review 47:See my pending review

Review 48:Older facility, needs a great deal of refurbishing, has lots of potential

Review 49:Access to room

Review 50:no staff to help with housekeeping needs, ie requested iron, yet, no delivery

Review 51:That the hotel is in very bad conditions in the outside. :(

Review 52:Costumer Service and Room

Review 53:Looked run down.

Review 54:Everything was okbut it should be updated!

Review 55:Needs maintenance on buildings and grounds. Pool empty. Maybe drought issue?

Review 56:Bathroom facilities are upgraded.

Review 57:no thing.

Review 58:location.

Review 59:the drive to the location was excellent. Clean and quiet.

Review 60:Robert & Rhonda are great hosts. Rooms are comfortable and have everything I need.

Review 61:No pool no jacuzzi

Review 62:Clean room silence

Review 63:Rooms have lot of cigar smell. You also see people smoking cigar outdoor

Review 64:Location is good. Staff is good.

Review 65:Looks like a work in progress. WiFi barely worked. AC didn't work.

Review 66:They had a room when no one else did. Store nearby.

Review 67:Renovations

Review 68:Welcoming staff, room

Review 69:Very expensive, given the location.
