Reviews for Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa

Review 1:We spent about $500 for a room for one night, a kids movie and morning rolls. The room was fair at best. It smelled like body odor and overlooked a back lot filled with dumpsters.

Review 2:Room service was our least favorite. things like, forgot topping for hot chocolate, told us they didn't have pots when the menu said they did, then 2nd day magically they brought a pot of hot chocolate instead of to go cups. Forgot silverware once, oatmeal was cold and lumpy.....just silly things

Review 3:The hotel staff was very accommodating and went above and beyond what was expected. We will definitely stay there again.

Review 4:paid more for a partial lake view/balcony ... was disappointed. Although the lake is beautiful you had to overlook all the building equipment (air conditioners/heating equipment) plus it was noisy. The balcony was very very small. Not worth the higher price

Review 5:Everything you need is in one place. one day the weather was horrible and we had no issues staying right there in the resort. Ate all meals right there and the food was Good ! Enjoyed the Library Lounge

Review 6:Nothing

Review 7:Very clean resort. Had waterfalls and trees and beautiful water fountains. Was really decorated up nicely for Christmas. Grounds were pretty and beautiful with beautiful views. Staff is very friendly.

Review 8:prices for food was high Installation in parking garage was falling off. Had installation on car after parking overnight.

Review 9:staff was very friendly and helpfull

Review 10:The beds were incredibly stiff and they had construction that started at 8:00am and ruined any chance of sleeping in. It's a decent hotel but I feel it's over priced. There isn't really anything special about it. I'm pretty sure it was an embassy suites that has been sold and dressed up.

Review 11:Friendly staff.

Review 12:One morning couldn't get room service. I was transferred but no one ever picked up. Blow dryer didnt

Review 13:Nice and relaxing. Would definitely come again.

Review 14:It would be great if there was a mini fridge in the room. Also, the room are a little noisy. We could here people in the halls and hear the doors slamming. Could also hear when our neighbors would open their sliding glass door.

Review 15:I loved the hotel. It was very nice and the staff was very attentive.

Review 16:Car parking Is long way from main entrance and uphill. On arrival staff on reception took three attempts to input our names misspelling it three times and that was after we gave them the copy of the booking.com email we'd printed off. Door staff are similar to door staff everywhere; some really friendly, others looking down on you if you try to open a door yourself as if you're a country bumpkin who shouldn't be in a glitzy hotel.

Review 17:Opulent interiors letdown by small gym. Its location is great in terms of the view of Table Rock Lake, but it is reached from Branson by driving down a poorly lit road. Coffee shop staff are really friendly and the prices are reasonable (similar to a well known chain), food/dining is also excellent.

Review 18:I didn't like having to decide on breakfast and being seated based on our decision felt like because we didn't want the brunch Sunday morning that we were seated in the second class section.

Review 19:Free valet parking, free refrigerator in the room, and clear choices when being seated for breakfast.

Review 20:Just a couple of small things, all in all it was a good place to stay.

Review 21:Loved the location, rooms were nice and pretty clean. Staff very freindly and helpful

Review 22:Noise from pool cleaning and painting of the building.

Review 23:Beautiful room views of Table Rock Lake. Wait staff were friendly and efficient. Great outdoor dining on the veranda overlooking the lake.

Review 24:Room was not cleaned until after 4:00 PM. on our second day. Had to leave for them to clean, asked for clean sheets came back and had the old sheets still on the bed. Very rude employees, front desk was also very rude. Friday night was woken up by some drunks yelling in the hallway.

Review 25:the view was beautiful

Review 26:Front desk is the most inefficient that I have ever seen. We had trouble checking in and rooms weren't ready. We were suppose to be phoned when ready and we never got the call. Checking out was even slower as family with 2 children in front of us had been moved from room to room because of dirty rooms and then they were told they could move back into the suite they had originally orders and the clerk and supervisor were arguing with them about the rate they were going to be charged after moving them twice. They should have been given the room at no charge for the trouble they had been through. Property is just a glorified Embassy Suite with a much higher charge than is justified.

Review 27:Scenery is beautiful and location is great.

Review 28:We were put in a room with a view of the trash and air conditioning blowers to begin with but they rectified that by moving us to a suite with a gorgeous view. Also found they debited our account twice and i still haven't heard back after 3 phone calls! Getting really frustrated with being ignored!

Review 29:The suite was beautiful! Enjoyed our stay.

Review 30:The room was located directly above equipment servicing hotel. I guess ac etc. it was noisy full time. Their claim of "tranquility" was a joke.

Review 31:Not much.

Review 32:Staff was vacuuming in the hall at 9:30 p.m. There was some machinery/motor running all night that kept the noise level at a low roar--very disruptive to sleeping.

Review 33:Staff was friendly.

Review 34:I would have thought for the price we paid they would have included breakfast. I guess I've been spoiled by places like the Embassy Suites.

Review 35:Beautiful hotel, great staff and very comfortable beds.

Review 36:Had to pay for wifi. I expected the rooms to have fridge for the price but otherwise it was ok.

Review 37:Excellent, friendly service ! Beautiful views from the 10th floor!

Review 38:Food prices were the worst. However dinner at Chateau Grille was excellent. Continental breakfast for juices was 14$ ,ridiculous

Review 39:Angel, concierge made mistakes disappear. She was the best.

Review 40:I have stayed at the chateau several times this was my first time not tobe enjoyable, the cleanliness of the room was ok the bathtub held waterwhile I and my wife took showers. Updates on the carpet need to be done.Atmosphere was o K.

Review 41:I saw a lot of people avoid the bell hops, I enjoyed them, overly happy

Review 42:Dining is poor. Hotel strives to be luxurious, while food/ foodservice is very basic (quality is not worth the price). Unfortunately, the options around the hotel are limited (I even tried Grub Hub...noavailability), so you are forced to dine at the hotel. Dining servicewas poor as well. Quick sit down dinner with kids (salads andsandwiches) took over 2 hours to receive our meals.

Review 43:The location was great for us based on our needs to be close to sdc andlake. The facilities are very clean.

Review 44:Temperature of lobby and dining rooms absolutely freezing. No complimentary coffee in lobby.

Review 45:Lovely hotel, beautifully appointed. Hotel is located right next to lake. A bit too far from strip for my liking. Lobby and dining room temperature VERY cold...68 degrees F. Beds very comfortable!

Review 46:food is over priced and the quality has gone down since our last trip to this hotel. Ordered the $44 Filet Mignon and they charged me $2 for carmalzied onions. Come on!! The Steak was not even that good.

Review 47:Courtesy of staff and beautiful premises

Review 48:The dinner the first night was not great. We were outside in the sun waiting for over an hour for our dinner. With small children it was not good. The children's activities were minimal.

Review 49:Location Accommodations

Review 50:The only complaint is that with the plastic toilet seat as well as the bathtub with rocked when one got into it to take a shower.

Review 51:The ambiance of the resort as well as the staff, from the gentlemen who helped with unloading the luggage (first people that you meet) and everyone else.

Review 52:When booking, asked for a quiet high floor room but not honored by the hotel at check-in. Instead the put us near a hospitality room which was very noisy in the evening. No sleep until much later!

Review 53:Great Table Rock location.

Review 54:We had a lovely view from room 608- but we couldn't enjoy our balcony because the huge air conditioning units below us were so incredibly loud! Perhaps you could build a roof over these to dampen that noise and make the view more pleasant.

Review 55:We loved the comfort of the bed and large room.

Review 56:Restaurants close at 11. Shows are out by 10:15, with traffic on the strip it's hard to get back by 11. At that point your food options are very minimal. And no refrigerator.

Review 57:The hotel itself is beautiful. Gary the bellmen was exceptional, gave us directions and a great suggestion for our dinner. I wanted to purchase a necklace at the gift shop, but everytime I was in the lobby the gift shop was closed.

Review 58:Food was really bad. The quality of the food was really bad and then our meal wasn't even covered. One of the worst meals we have ever had at a restaurant that portrayed high quality.

Review 59:Staff

Review 60:Impossible to believe this beautiful & isolated resort does not have a refrigerator and/or micro-wave! You can request frig for $20/nite! ridiculous!

Review 61:The beautiful resort & the swimming pools were great!

Review 62:Didn't like that the prices went up for the 4th and a minimum of 3 days was required to book.

Review 63:I've stay at this location before on several occasions, so this is why I chose the location for the 4th.

Review 64:Check in was slow, it took about 5 mins for someone to help us. There wasn't a line. One staff was dealing with a customer, the other was looking at computer, looked at us a few times without saying anything. The other staff was dealing with what seemed to be another customers complaint, walked by us a few times with no comment that someone would be with us. I did ask another couple that came in behind us, if they knew if this was the check in area. They thought it was, but also questioned it since no one seemed to notice we were standing there.

Review 65:Corner room was spacious with great lake views.

Review 66:My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. What a beautiful hotel! Loved the spacious room and lake view!! Very quiet and peaceful stay!!

Review 67:Having a mini fridge would have been nice.

Review 68:It's a great location and there is pretty much everything there you need without having to leave if you don't want to.

Review 69:It was very rainy a couple of the days but not much you can do about that.

Review 70:People were so friendly. the guys at the valet were son personable and helpful that they were like friends by the end of the stay.

Review 71:The decor is outdated and brings the indoor atmosphere of the hotel down a few notches. The beautiful views when you are outside help make up for it.

Review 72:I love the setting of the hotel. I love the outdoor areas. The staff was very friendly and kind.

Review 73:The only negative thing I have to say about the whole experience was that they had mixed up our payment methods and billed the wrong card. This led to some complications but they resolved this issue very quickly.

Review 74:Everything from breakfast in bed, to the hugely helpful and kind staff at the front desk. We didn't meet a single unkind person or anyone unwilling to help us.

Review 75:The other guest looked at my husband and I as if we didn't belong because of the color of our skin .

Review 76:The resort stay I loved the whole experience the bell hop guys did a wonderful job assisting us in every way they could

Review 77:wifi was there but not usable. the phone connected but when you searched for something it could not find anything. It was not a big deal. everything was great

Review 78:everything

Review 79:Husband did not like the bed and did not sleep well. I thought there would be a complimentary breakfast and there was not. We could not see the fireworks from our room. The deli was not open Sunday evening, and we would have liked it to be.

Review 80:Swimming pool and view.

Review 81:I loved being away from the crowded strip, and being able to view the beauty of the area. Still, it's close enough to all the shows and activities. I liked the free parking, WiFi, and reasonably priced me a 's in the Atrium Cafe.

Review 82:We didn't like the fact that because we went through booking.com we received a room with a view out the window of the roof. We were there on a Sunday and Monday night, the resort was very empty, and this resort would not even offer us a room with a view. When we questioned this at checkout, the attendants attitude was poor and insinuated that we needed to pay more for a good view.

Review 83:This resort was really beautiful, inside and out. We liked the fact that we were able to get a room there and that it was a discounted price through booking.com

Review 84:Mountain view gave us a nice view of the hotel air conditioner . Ask for a lake view. No balcony with this view. Not kid friendly dining

Review 85:It's more for adults with no children The best was the room service guy. Young guy with family going to Disney

Review 86:We could have used a small fridge or wine cooler in the room. When walking around the resort it would have been nice to have more benches to sit on to enjoy the views of the lake.

Review 87:Beautiful resort with grand views of the lake, staff was friendly, bed was super comfy, room was spacious and their attention to details.

Review 88:Breakfast buffet was ok...but didn't take advantage of the fresh to order omelets though-our fault. Next time we will!

Review 89:The Chateau looks like a castle with gorgeous surroundings. Inside decor is just as beautiful with plants and water features. Extremely pleasant and friendly staff, room was spacious and perfect with awesome lake view and balcony. Bed was so cozy - we slept wonderfully for the 3 nights we were there. Ice cream candy shop was a plus. Definitely recommend this wonderful hotel!

Review 90:TV reception was terrible, snow and it froze many times. Paid for upgraded internet and it was just as bad. Thought I would hear DSL tone at some point.

Review 91:Nice view of the lake

Review 92:Leaving!!!

Review 93:The resort is far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel like you are at a secluded resort. But, you are only a five minute ride away!! Great restaurant on site and the staff was wonderful!!!

Review 94:We went in off season (just before spring) and they were terribly understaffed. When you called for service (bell captain, valet, concierge, front dest, housekeeping) you got the same person who new very little about anything. Sometimes the phone would just ring.

Review 95:The Hotel is beautifully situated near the lake.

Review 96:We love the overall experience from the valet to the front desk and the restaurant staff were great! Our chefs Paul Trout and Don Horton were awesome. Our waitress who assisted the chef was absolutely the best. The spa was so relaxing and everything was so clean and upscale.

Review 97:I had requested a mountain view on an upper floor. I was given a room on6th floor overlooking roof and pipes. We were very disappointed. Weasked to be moved the next morning. We were moved 1 floor up next toelevators. This room was very noisy!! We left the next morning.

Review 98:The bellman , car valet, and room service personnel were veryaccommodating and friendly.

Review 99:The beauty one beholds upon entering the Chateau and all the wonderful accommodations--the water fall, special little nooks to satisfy any craving one might be experiencing, the bird in the cage. What is there not to like?

Review 100:When we arrived we were told our room was not ready and it would be 45 min. Was told they would call on cell in 45 min when room was ready. We arrived at 3:15pm. At 4:30 my husband went to check on room. At 5:15 he finally came back to the bar, where I was waiting with a room key. No apology at all from the clerk about our wait. Just said our room was still not ready and gave us another room.

Review 101:Quiet room. Lovely atmosphere.

Review 102:When we checked in we asked for an upgrade option. When got to our room and it was right by the elevators. So we called down to the reception and they promptly moved us to a new and quieter room.

Review 103:Loves this hotel absolutely beautiful! And the amenities are awesome, the library is a great place to relax and enjoy company with a cocktail. Most comfortable beds we have ever stayed In!!

Review 104:The covered parking lot was cluttered with equipment on one side. The mechanism that changes the shower to a bath was broken and the decor was dated(too many fake plants).

Review 105:We loved driving up to this magnificent building. The bed was extremely comfortable, the food at the Grille was wonderful and the staff was very friendly.

Review 106:Well, our bathroom don't have a robe, we asked for it and we waited almost 30 mins for it to be delivered, but we received it freshly pressed and clean. I guess it's worth the wait. And when we arrived, we waited for almost 30 mins for our luggages to be delivered in our room. And the check-in is really at 4pm! And not even sure if the room is available, which by that time it's already available. By then, I get to explore the place and got warmed in their fireplace while waiting for our check-in.

Review 107:Everything in this hotel are very nice, I only experience winter/christmas time but I can say it is pretty well. It would be much more if the facilities outside are opened, which was by the time of our stay, it was closed for the season. We'll definitely be coming back here, that time I'll get to enjoy outside. The view is so divine. I love mostly everything! From your bed, which is comfortable and the room is clean and homey and you don't need to go outside to eat, it has Chateau Grille and Sweet Shoppe.

Review 108:Zippo!!!

Review 109:we've been going to the chataeu now for the last two years around Christmas. We look forward to it every year. It's a beautiful place to go. The staff and everything about it is 1st class.

Review 110:I will give this more thought bu at the time I can't think of anything we didn't like.

Review 111:I liked the feeling of significance for my wife and I that we had as guest of the hotel.

Review 112:The bed hurt my back but that may be only because I am used to my awesome Select Comfort at home. There were too many dogs in the atrium and lounge area at one point during our stay. Being suddenly barked at doesn't make for a pleasant stay.

Review 113:The hotel restaurant was excellent! The atmosphere, too. The staff were all very friendly and there was just an overall positive feeling about the place. Very inviting.

Review 114:Everything was nice and clean, staff was so friendly and helpful, room was spacious and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept on!!! Will definitely be going back soon.

Review 115:Rooms were great. The food in their restaurants. was super. The service throughout was beyond first class. The décor at Christmas was just wonderful.

Review 116:There was no microwave in room and later I was told I could get one for an extra $20 charge. Most other places provide a microwave and mini fridge at no extra cost .

Review 117:Nice and helpful staff. And many fun activities to do.

Review 118:Thermostat in room either didn't work or was set by hotel. No matter what we put it on it was hot. We finally just opened the balcony door to let some cool air in. The beds were a real disappointment, just average. The theater was also a disappointment as well. We had planned on watching a movie at seven and the marque said home alone two but it didn't come on. The movie playing just skipped around from one scene to the next.

Review 119:Location

Review 120:had a great time, came in on a Sunday and really had the place to ourselves we had a drink at the bar by the restaurant and then hung at and the bigger bar area, pulled the chairs up to the fireplace......later on we chilled out in the hot tub, had some ice cream, really nice couple day getaway from St. Louis

Review 121:Sweet Shop understaffed in the mornings. The staff member was working as fast as she could but couldnt keep up with demand. Really could have used at least one more person.

Review 122:Friendliness and helpfulness of staff

Review 123:-Would prefer refrigerator in the room at no charge ($20 per day fee) -The spa lounge could be more comfortable with lounge chairs and blankets.

Review 124:Rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, for a good rate. Dining on property was good. The Christmas decorations were beautiful the atmosphere felt festive. The grounds were clean. There was a safety deposit box in room. The spa was great, the services were excellent.

Review 125:View from room window was was an excellent shot of the lower roof, air exchange and flood lights. Of course with the curtains closed this wasn't a problem. Room was reduced rate but others with same deal got rooms overlooking the lake. This room should have had a warning and possibly a further reduction in rates. When staying in a hotel with a great view you expect to get a portion of it. Drink prices were exorbitant. $3.00 for a half a can of soda and 7 something for a well drink is completely over the roof.

Review 126:Other than the view and drink prices everything.

Review 127:The room service had not come at 3:30 in the afternoon of our second day. There is not complementary coffee in the lobby like most other hotel/motels.

Review 128:The room was great. The restaurant and meal were wonderful.

Review 129:For Branson the suite seemed overpriced for what we got. But it was fine for a family, my girls and I were traveling with a friend and her son, it didn't work for us. The hotel is a worth every penny

Review 130:Love the hotel and the service. We rented a suite because we had 2 families, I think next time we would do 2 seperate rooms that joined. The food was really good and fresh and room service was prompt.

Review 131:NOT COOKED ZUCCHINI IN THE ZUCCHINI PARMESAN....CRUNCHY LIKE EATING RAW CUCUMBERS.

Review 132:THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THE VIEW FROM OUR BALCONY WAS BREATH TAKING. THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AND GINGERBREAD HOUSES WERE CLEVERLY PRESENTRD.

Review 133:Doormen were friendly, others not too friendly.

Review 134:Super nice room and beautiful lobby and decorations, particularly the gingerbread houses and the beautiful Christmas trees and decorations. Room was excellent.

Review 135:The Staff was INCREDIBLE. Every single person we encountered was well trained, polite, friendly, helpful and made us feel like family. I have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and this was the best overall staff I have ever encountered. Starting with our arrival, Phillip and Devon were outstanding. Reed was helpful and funny as well. Hector, Linda and Laura continued to impress throughout the week at the front desk, Kelsi made us feel at home in the lounge, Will (manager) made us feel appreciated and special and Caleb in Fine Dining was impeccable. Every bite of food at every venue was top quality and perfectly prepared. We will absolutely return and recommend this wonderful resort.

Review 136:Can't think of one thing.

Review 137:This was our second time staying here. I've recommended it too so many people. When I think of Branson, I think of the chateau on the lake. Best place I've ever stayed. From the time you check in until the time you leave the staff is always their to accommodate you. Love, love, love this place.

Review 138:our room had a partial lake view. The only bad thing is that our room was right above the air conditioners, very noisy!

Review 139:The whole trip was wonderfull great room, good food, very frierndly staff
