Reviews for Sky Palm Motel - Orange
Review 1:We were so amazed at how nice our room was. The man at the desk upgraded us for free and the suite was gorgeous. Very clean, great TV, and around 10am they play soft relaxing music. The location was also great, right near everything and free parking. Great hotel for our honeymoon. Will be coming back again.
Review 2:Every light switch is on a motion-sensitive timer, so when I was sitting working on my laptop, I had to get up six or seven times in a 2 hour period to keep the lights on. The air conditioner controls have no labels (all worn off), and the knobs are loose, so it took a lot of trial and error to get the a/c to start cooling. The bathtub is a Jacuzzi tub, great for a soothing bath, but there is a big hump on one side of the tub bottom, making showering a risky affair (it would have been so easy to slip). The carpet was dirty against the walls, and there was an empty condom wrapper on the floor by the bed. Oh, and the phone wasn't even plugged in. Seems this is more of a hook-up hotel than a place for travelers.
Review 3:It was conveniently proximate to business I had to take care of the following morning.
Review 4:While I loved the ability to use the regular shower head or the hand held one, I wish that they had taken a minute to leak check the fixture and used some plumbers tape or caulk... But that, and the lack of some kind of breakfast, were the extent of my issues.
Review 5:Don't let the curb appeal, or its lack there of, deter you! It does look like a 1950's era Motor Inn had a baby with the light show from a rave, and that baby is really into hallucinogenics... Hence the dance of color illuminating each Palm tree surrounding the parking lot. But it appeals to the quirky in me. Once in the room (they still use actual metal keys!!!) I stepped into a newly remodeled room. Hardwood floors, beautiful bathroom, and modern decoration, including a large flat screen, fridge and microwave. Full cable, HBO and WiFi were all free too!
Review 6:My only downside was housekeeping kept the drapes open after cleaning the room each day. It's just not comforting to know strangers have a full view of my suitcases and personal bags in the room. I never mind drapes open and sheer curtains closed to let in light, but this was not the case. Guests in any lodging should always be allowed privacy.
Review 7:Upscale Motel. The room we had was wonderful! Would definitely stay here again.
Review 8:Needed a place to stay one night after a sail to Catalina. Shower water pressure was strong and plenty bathroom toiletries and blow dryer. Bed was comfortable. Room had refrig and microwave. TV large. Good lighting. I was concerned about night noise but when windows shut it was quite quiet. Easy access to highway.
Review 9:I could not operate the microwave. Fix up the office-poor initial presentation. Price was too high for the accommodations. Dirty exteriors of windows/yard. Spas? Water conservation?
Review 10:Good location. Clean room. Roomy. Nice big bed.
Review 11:The hot water in the shower took literally 10 to 15 minutes to get warm at all.
Review 12:Tastefully refurbished hotel with a beautiful neon sign. Room was very nice for a budget hotel.
Review 13:The bed was terrible. They are old and worn out, no support. We waited in the lobby for five min. Before we were helped. Did not sleep due to loud partying from another room. This hotel is in a bad low class location. The sheets are rough.
Review 14:the bottle of water was nice at check in.
Review 15:Lovely staff and impressive room deco. They were renovating and it was looking good. Big comfortable room for half the price of what we saw elsewhere. Excellent value for money.
Review 16:I didn't know breakfast was included with our stay.
Review 17:I was able to make our reservation for a room with a spa (jacuzzi) only two weeks before our trip date. Making the reservation was free, and I had until the day before the trip to cancel my stay. They only charged my card once I actually checked in. We were upgraded to a better room (also with a jacuzzi) free of charge.
Review 18:Staff not ready to give service, had to wait for the guys to wake up and begin my registration. The office smelled like an Zindian restaurant .
Review 19:Room was spacious and recently remodeled.
Review 20:The toiletries were very poor quality - those small, thin soaps that are hard to open, and when opened begin to crumble in your hand. Bring your own bar of soap. My door had a deadbolt that would not work with my key. When I left the room I carried my valuables in the trunk of my car.
Review 21:The room was huge with a large TV to match. The air conditioner is available without using a room key, and the fan allows white noise that will drown-out TV noise from adjacent rooms.
Review 22:Smoke detector missing. Soap dish had been used as an ashtray by previous guest & had burn marks. Housekeeping dI'd a terrible job making the bed. unfinished holes in walls for water shutoff & tv cables. Fridge handle very dirty. Insufficient parking in lot.
Review 23:The stay was so terrible, it became comical & provided me stories to tell friends
Review 24:The comforter was gross. Cable and wifi kept cutting out. No sound reduction between rooms.
Review 25:I liked the bed and space of the room. It had a good location with quick access to the freeways.
Review 26:Its a shame the pool isnt heated for Winter use but Im sure its very nice in Summer. It would be convenient to have coffee & tea making equipment in the room. Other than that we didnt have any complaints.
Review 27:The room was clean, the bathroom was recently refurbished. The staff were friendly & helpful. We were offered a bigger room (at no extra cost) because it was free & available while we were there, which we really appreciated. We enjoyed our stay at the Skypalm!
Review 28:Nothing .. For the price, it was very good
Review 29:Upon arriving we we're treated by the smell of Indian food at the reception area. However, the owners were very friendly an the room we had was clean and recently remodeled. No smoke or food smell. We slept comfortably and would go there again.
Review 30:This is my first time to go to motel and my experience wasn't so good because when I ask the receptionist about the safety in motel, she replayed that nothing is grantee, her answer was weird for me and my friend because usually receptionist think positively and reassure customers. And there was no phone in the room to contact room service if we need any thing.
Review 31:They do have free wifi for customers
Review 32:Our door wasn't really level in its frame so it was hard to tell if it was closed all the way or not.
Review 33:From the outside, especially from the street, it looks like any average motel. Upon entering the actual hotel room, my opinion drastically changed. It appears they over recently gutted and refurnished evert room floor to ceiling. 100% satisfied
Review 34:Piped music that plays all night in the hallway that you can hear in your room. Bed moves around whenever you move on it. Cable channels kept going out; we started two movies we were unable to finish because the channel went out. Poor TV sound system.
Review 35:Conveniently located. Pretty good restaurant next door. Good parking. Nice staff. Typical low-budget motel; not bad; but don't expect much. If you don't expect much, it's OK for the price.
Review 36:The air conditioner was very cold, but once we figured out how to adjust the temperature, it was fine. The problem was with us, not the unit. The property is old but in good condition.
Review 37:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was neat and tidy. The bathroom was clean and in good order. The bed was comfortable. The location was perfect for getting on and off the freeway and central to all the places we were going.
Review 38:Limited parking
Review 39:Staff was great, let us check in early and gave good recommendations for restaurants.
Review 40:Big room

Review 42:Large enough room for two.it is clean.free coffee for breakfast is good. Nice and decent place.
Review 43:Floor was dirty. Room was runned down. Wifi had a very weak signal.
Review 44:It wasn't too expensive.
Review 45:Service

Review 47:Rooms are very comfortable. Housekeeping was friendly and nice
Review 48:There was no pool
Review 49:just the bed
Review 50:no good
Review 51:No ice machine, floors were super dirty.
Review 52:The location and parking.
Review 53:The cleaning staff was so amazing nice and it was like a little home away from home
Review 54:the shower head kept leaking water from the pipe. tried fixing it but it would still shoot water unto the floor
Review 55:It was nicely kept. great location
Review 56:Peter was extremely accommodating. I would hire him to run my hotel.
Review 57:The noise from the shower in room and upstairs was overwhelming as well from parking lot!
Review 58:Room big and good spa!
Review 59:Noisy(traffic, next room)
Review 60:Close to Chapman University
Review 61:WIFI only worked for 1 day our of our 4
Review 62:The room was clean.
Review 63:LocAtion
Review 64:Wish the sheets had fit the bed better.
Review 65:We were there to see our son at college. The room was quiet and clean. Really liked the vinyl flooring.
Review 66:Musty, old sofa in room
Review 67:Price Clean Pleasant staff ( not friendly, pleasant) Italian restaurant next door
Review 68:The cable was horrible.
Review 69:It was clean.
Review 70:Construction around the place ?
Review 71:Hot tub. Friendly service. What we needed.
Review 72:Rusty curtain rod, tiles without grout, dirty carpet, two large holes in the wall patched and not painted, frayed couch with large dark stains, cracked mirror, smoke alarm in drawer and exposed wires in ceiling where alarm goes, electrical outlet with no plate, tv color mostly red and wifi didn't work.
Review 73:Location and staff was nice
Review 74:Some drawers were broken and music from all around the building was playing all day and night kept us from falling asleep also the drain in the bathtub was completely broken.
Review 75:The variety of channels on the television.
Review 76:Old style door knobs and use of door key, could have ues better insulation around front door, had a 1/2 inch gap, loosing some of the cool a/c.
Review 77:Good size room, bed was comfortable, low noise level and close to the Chapman University where we attended Graduation cerimonies. All around good value.
Review 78:Rooms were covered in god knows what kind of brown filth, everywhere. White stains on the couch stained hand towels electrical humming coming from the cable box
Review 79:The Price Free drinks on check in location
Review 80:the hooker/john ambiance room should have been rented by the hour ....... note the red lighting in the room did mask the flithy conditions ...but... I feel the red lighting was supposed to set the atrmosphere for romance .....but .....it just came across as cheap and sleazy.....
Review 81:nothing
Review 82:The jacuzzi that now longer worked, except as a shower, was awkward to get in and out of. We didn't want a jacuzzi, just a shower.
Review 83:The room decor, etc. It was an excellent room for the price. We needed a motel in the city of Orange, and this one fit the bill exactly.
Review 84:Construction in rear of property near room was a bit noisy.
Review 85:Unlike most hotels, non-carpet floors in room were comfortable and clean.
Review 86:Room was shabby, no hot water in sink, room was next door to motel staff who played loud music til late at night. Never again!
Review 87:Staff was helpful.
Review 88:dirty sheets, stained pillow case, stained walls, plaind dirty. needs updates.
Review 89:no kids running around and no one banging on doors to keep quiet
Review 90:That you had to pay for ice
Review 91:The spa tub
Review 92:The motel has a nice vintage look. The room was clean and the stuff always friendly. I will certainly stay there again.
Review 93:The staff was very nice. They did their to satisfy my request.
