Reviews for Regency Fairbanks Hotel

Review 1:Breakfast was poor / low quality. Location was terrible with the room looking directly at the parking and at the highway. Old building (the nice pic on booking is only the entrance..) Quality vs price = 0 I don't understand a so high score!!

Review 2:Room was big and clean

Review 3:Clean, well maintained hotel. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, soft beds. Free wi-fi. Onsite restaurant is wonderful for dinner, drinks or breakfast. Best deal for your money.

Review 4:Furnishing is older and dated, but all was clean so it was okay

Review 5:Very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff. The bar was great for watching football games or whatever. The room very spacious.

Review 6:The staff at the hotel could not have been more welcoming. The hotel is a little older but the rooms were very large and comfortable. They stored our luggage the day we checked in and then stored it for us the day we checked out. There was a full breakfast every morning and the parking was free. Fit us perfectly.

Review 7:They charged me usd 20 more than agreed, arguing i had made early check in but fact is i arrived around noon, so they were not fair with me because the hotek was almost empty. Breakfast was extremely poor.

Review 8:Nothing.

Review 9:We stayed for four nights - Our room was towards the back and at the end of the hall - It was very quiet and private. Very comfortable and good size to boot! It was perfect.

Review 10:Special thanks to Shelby! She was extremely helpful when I forgot some items to the hotel. She worked very hard to help me! And thanks also to the manager that approved to keep my items there till my next visit!

Review 11:We had great service from the airplane. We had a GREAT breakfast and then were off very early for the train in the morning. There was no noise and beds very comfortable to get some quick hours of good sleep.

Review 12:Front desk staff could have been more friendly and interested ( one only ) and the breakfast was pretty average

Review 13:Location was pretty good and the rooms were spacious or at least the bedroom was

Review 14:wifi and tv service was terrible. in fact, my co-worker had to have the IT guy come and adjust and said it was the best he could do even after the upgrade to the 'better' wifi. TV remote also didn't work, they replaced the remote and turns out it was the TV. That was replaced as well. Not sure we will stay here again. First appearance was favorable, but upon closer room inspection, it wasn't as clean as I expect for a room costing this much.

Review 15:centrally located

Review 16:Breakfast is not very good.

Review 17:Great staff, very clean room. Nice kitchen with a set of equipment that you can borrow. Walkable distance from downtown. Free shuttle from/to train depot.

Review 18:The inner lobby is faded, looks like it needs a makeover. Rates on the high side for what you get. No stores or restaurants in walking distance, except for hotels.

Review 19:Spacious room in decent condition. Staff were cordial. Good breakfast.

Review 20:Thought it was a bit over-priced but Fairbanks hotels seem to be expensive generally. Furnishings in the bedroom and bathroom slightly old and worn but fine for a short stay.

Review 21:Great breakfast (and very friendly guy serving it). A well equipped room and comfy bed. Decent location for downtown access.

Review 22:Breakfast was not up to standard

Review 23:Geat rooms quite large,Good decor,Comfortable beds, all facilities worked and were well maintained, cooperative front desk, shuttle service to airport

Review 24:One of the beds was sagging closest to the bed table. I asked the staff to flip the mattress to see if this would help, it did but I think it's time to replace some mattresses.

Review 25:Easy to get to. It was very close to all the main roads in Fairbanks

Review 26:All of the pictures online showed that there was a kitchen and refrigerator. I came to the hotel thinking that is what my room had as well, so I went grocery shopping for my long weekend stay over.. to my surprise there was no kitchen. so that was heavily disappointing.

Review 27:I really enjoyed the service and the cleanliness of the hotel. It was very pretty and smelled great inside.

Review 28:Breakfast was included in the price, but was not good.

Review 29:Nice rooms with a lot of space. Quiet location near downtown and near the express-way. Very good free wifi in the room.

Review 30:The free breakfast was terrible. Eggs were dry and flavorless. Bacon was terribly greasy. No jam or jelly for toast. I skipped it after two tries. Witnessed two arguments with customers that were not handled well.

Review 31:The enclosed area in front. Tubby's bar was pleasant. Easy to access by car.

Review 32:Breakfast was a shambles both days. One example of that on day 1. Wanted cereal, no bowl to put it in. Got a bowl, no milk, eventually got milk, no spoon! Day 2 no better, coffee machine broken, long wait whilst a small pot of coffee was brewed. Hot items ran out, no cutlery about.

Review 33:Very nice place close to town centre. Good staff and WiFi.

Review 34:Clean, friendly, well run hotel in a great location. Room was older but the room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was hot and good quality.

Review 35:Staff at the hotel were very friendly. Helped with anything you needed. The hotel is old, but they are maintaining and improving it. We had a huge room with two double beds.

Review 36:Breakfast had to remind the attendant on the need of plates, coffee, ect…

Review 37:The staff of the hotel are attentive, friendly, the room was aged but clean and comfortable. Breakfast the attendant was very friendly and greeting everyone. I would stay again and recommend to friends traveling to the area.

Review 38:Breakfast, great Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, easy access, plenty of safe parking, downstairs restaurant, microwave and fridge in room, well cleaned, everything in good repair.

Review 39:Picked us up at airport even though we did not arrive until 1:00 am. Took us right to princess lodge next morning even though they did not have to. Would stay there again

Review 40:I slipped and fell outside the building.

Review 41:My food order was during closing time; the chef made an exception. The hotel staff was friendly; always had a smile when I entered the building. The management responded fast on the ice issue outside the building; after I had an accident. I slipped and fell whilst entering the building from my car.

Review 42:outer lobby cold and unused.as you walk out the doors to the left the bar area looked more like a storage shed.breakfast was on the far wall of a basement sports bar. i didnt take my 12 year old to breakfast at cheers. we went out to eat.

Review 43:room was clean and comfortable.location good staff was helpful.

Review 44:WiFi was convoluted and didn't work for half our stay.

Review 45:The price was right. It was a real bargain. We walked all over downtown Fairbanks from here even though it was -20 below.

Review 46:We turned our heater to 60 degrees when the room was 78 degrees. The temperature in the early morning hours did drop to 75, way too hot for comfortable sleep. We turned the heater off all together for the last five days of our stay and the temperature never dropped below 73 even though it was down in the 20s outside. The maintenance man's suggestion of leaving the window open when ever we were in the room was the only solution for reasonable temperature control. The old dirt and cigarette smoke ground into the filthy carpets made the hotel seem old, unclean and cheap.

Review 47:The staff were helpful, friendly, courteous and pleasant at every hour of the day or night. The kitchen staff worked hard to keep food supplies available for all patrons.

Review 48:A good value for a central location from which to explore the Fairbanks area. The breakfast buffet was good: actual eggs, bacon, sausage. Not just carbs!

Review 49:Breakfast "included" three days in a row was in-prep due to poor planning or running out early, mid-breakfast hours, or 45 minutes to end. Bed made in a funny way that one had to rip apart to get to pillows and sheets that some how were folded down like a college prank to be "short-sheeted". But, for such things one can just smile and get a warm nice sleep anyway.

Review 50:Location is perfect. Everyone friendly. Spacious rooms. Clean.

Review 51:The mattress made my back hurt but that's just one of those things to expect when traveling away from the comfort of your own bed. That's really the only thing I didn't like much.

Review 52:Location is within walking distance of downtown Fairbanks. Residents are very friendly and helpful.

Review 53:The restaurant didn't have much options for vegetarian and found it difficult to find utensils / food containers in the buffet which are not contaminated with pork related stuff.

Review 54:The hotel is cozy, staff are friendly, location is good and it was worth for the amount paid. Free airport shuttle was very useful

Review 55:Sorry but breakfast was horrendous. Fortunately there was toast/bagels and boiled eggs because the bacon and 'scrambled eggs' were in a league of their own. Tubby's restaurant food was pretty awful overall, I'd recommend eating out.

Review 56:Bedrooms were massive, airport pickup, helpful staff, unfortunately the best room in the whole hotel was to cold to sit and chat in. It would be great if the entrance was heated (in winter)- a ways space!

Review 57:Truck drivers staying there in winter run their trucks (generator?) over night out the back of the hotel. Causing a loud rumbling noise all night vibrating the windows of your room. Suggest you ask for a room facing the front of the hotel.

Review 58:Value for money

Review 59:I stayed at this hotel with a few of my girlfriends. When we first got to the hotel, they put us in a room that had what looked like black mold in the room on the cieling. They moved us to a clean room right away, and the rest of our stay was very awesome! The breakfast in the morning was 100X better then the HORRIBLE restraunt downstairs. The ONLY bad thing I have to say about the hotel was that walking distance to any bars is a pretty long haul, but worth it because of the great price. Would stay here again, for sure.

Review 60:random people loitering in the hallway staff didn't know their own cash policy upon check in

Review 61:large room large bathroom decent location decent breakfast bar downstairs

Review 62:It was very quiet but when someone talked or coughed in their room or hall, they were clearly heard through the walls and door.

Review 63:Rooms are very large and spacious. Beds comfy. Restaurant downstairs with a free breakfast is handy but the prices off the regular menu are a bit pricey for what you get.

Review 64:Why bother asking if they aren't going to accommodate the request? Extra of the larger size towels and extra pillows that aren't down, 2 pillows is never enough for one person how is it for 2? Also, how can you say satellite and cable channels? Pick one or the other. The restaurant prices were terrible, worst continental breakfast I've been to.

Review 65:The wi-fi when it worked was so very slow. I needed it to work every time. It was important to be faster.

Review 66:The food was good and prepared in a timely manner. Restaurant staff was friendly, courteous, informative. The sweet potato fries were excellent. Best I ever had. Breakfast had a lot to choose from. Airport shuttle was timely. The price was just right. I also had to stay an extra night unexpectently & they extended the special booking without any hassles.

Review 67:Internet service was weak on second floor. Coffee maker leaked a little. One kitchenette chair had a bad leg.

Review 68:Storage was available for free of our extra gear while hunting. Great breakfast buffet offered as a free continental breakfast. They kept our extra cash secured. Very friendly and willing staff. Very nice, well kept room, and clean comfortable bed.

Review 69:Staff was friendly from the time I walked in the door. Tubby's was a great place to watch the Wild Card playoff with good food and drinks. Mandy was terrific behind the bar! Then there was the great breakfast prepared by a great lady from North Carolina.. don't remember her name, but the food was memorable!

Review 70:They treated us with respect and courtesy. I had my daughter visit with me and she too was comfortable they her and her grandmother got meal cards. I was comfortable and happy

Review 71:Staff missed the wakeup call we put in at midnight - we were flying out at 1.30am. Breakfast didn't have the menu items topped up. When approaching the staff about this, they would respond with "ok" but not do anything about it.

Review 72:Staff called us each night when the Northern Lights were showing. Reception were great - they were very helpful, not just where the Northern Lights were concerned, but also recommendations of other things we could do in Fairbanks.

Review 73:The staff help was great, in particular the young lady at the desk. One of the most helpful staff I have run across and I have stayed at a lot of hotels. The van driver was also good. The hotel itself was nice and I thought a good value.

Review 74:Items missing in the kitchen equipment box. Box should have been in the room on arrival. Some equipment shabby. The box needs a sharp knife. I had to go to the kitchen to procure one

Review 75:Spacious room. Good breakfast with real china and cutlery. Quiet. I was very happy here. Friendly helpful staff.

Review 76:Staff was attentive to questions as well as shuttle service, directions, Allan came up and made an adjust- ment on the cooling system in a matter of minutes as a delightful visit. The breakfast staff was great and on top of their game each day with a smile. We enjoyed our stay and will not only book again but recommend the Regency highly.

Review 77:The view was awful looking right out into someones backyard that was a disguisting mess...

Review 78:The wood ceiling was awesome, domed and the room was very big.. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel itself was very nice. Would stay again if ever in Alaska

Review 79:Common areas seemed worn: bare spots on carpet, older fixtures. Though room was very nice and overall the hotel was very pleasant.

Review 80:Large room, high quality mattress on bed, pleasant and accommodating staff, easy on and off of highway, safe neighborhood location, convenient pub downstairs for meals and continental breakfast, reasonable rates for quality of hotel.

Review 81:had to fly home, couldn't stay longer

Review 82:spacy room, value for money with breakfast, staff, restaurant on premises with great priced meals, bus on doorstep. extra power points around room. close to city

Review 83:Everything was old, but clean. Seems most hotels are in that area of Alaska & price range.

Review 84:Willingness to take us places most any time, help whenever we needed anything. Convenience to laundry & food. Room was clean & comfortable. Beds were very comfortable! Staff was professionally friendly. I would give them a Good+

Review 85:Cable selection wasn't that great

Review 86:I really liked the fact that there was an outdoor deck to relax outdoors on a nice summer night and have a drink. I liked the pub/restaurant downstairs. Good breakfast. EVERYONE was so nice!

Review 87:From the time the hotel shuttle picked me up at the airport through the morning I checked out, I felt welcome and comfortable. The Regency is a lovely place to stay in Fairbanks.

Review 88:Loved the free shuttle from airport, and to train station. Very friendly staff, we arrived at 8.00am after flying all night, and the manager had arranged for us to be able to check in to our room then! Brilliant! Rooms were very clean and spacious, and there is a nice little bar/restaurant downstairs with good food and friendly staff. Handy to town too! A great start to our holiday in Alaska thank you.

Review 89:Furnishings were worn, but no deal breaker. Received a warm welcome, and got a great nights sleep followed by a filling breakfast.

Review 90:We arrived in the middle if the night. Stag was charming and whitty. Rooms were generous, though worn. The beds - seriously were the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in - pillow top of sorts... Dreamy. The trophy heads in the sitting area of the hotel were read natural history style rather than gaudy. We were appreciative of the breakfast Tthe next morning and easy access to the road to Chena the next morning. If you don't need anything fancy, but do want a good nights sleep in a real Alaskan hotel - this is the place for you.

Review 91:Nothing to speak of .

Review 92:Evening reception; omelet service for breakfast. The staff: praises for Caitlin and Eddy at the front desk. Special praise for the lady who makes the omelets; she is amazing. We hope she is paid accordingly. And she was pleasant even when making multiple omelets and pancakes at the same time. Wow!

Review 93:They had the best breakfast of all the different hotels we stayed at the week we were in alaska. The resturant and bar were nice It is in a very good location. The room was clean and the staff was very good.

Review 94:Where else would the shuttle driver take you to the nearest gas station to buy cigarettes in between shuttle runs? 100% service. Lovely big room with desk, fridge and large TV

Review 95:- Free pick up at the airport - Large rooms - Restaurant / Bar - Free WiFi - The manager/owner (?) gave us a free transfer to the camper pick up office - thanks again!!
