Reviews for La Quinta Inn & Suites Fairbanks
Review 1:Everything is horrible except service attitude. I think they should show their real pictures on booking.com and airport. Once they finish their decoration, they can change their picture.
Review 2:People at front desk has great service attitude
Review 3:Mainly, it was just bad timing for our visit. Due to all of the remodeling going on, the place was pretty well torn up.
Review 4:The place has a lot of potential. Unfortunately for us, the time of year for our visit was during a major remodeling project. I'm sure it will be very nice when finished for the summer tourists.
Review 5:There wasn't a kitchenette as I'd hoped in the room, but it's no biggie. The room was someone claustrophobic but, once again, no biggie.
Review 6:The beds were so comfy it was amazing to sleep in. The mini fridge and corner office set up is a nice convenience to have.
Review 7:Our room had been double booked. There was no place in the hallways to sit while the situation was remedied by the staff. I'm disabled, and I was left standing in the hall a long time while they found another room for us. (There was no place to sit down.) And the "complimentary breakfast" cost $6.00.
Review 8:Proximity to airport. On-call shuttle service.
Review 9:Poor breakfast offerings, smallish rooms, and pricey stay... location for meals and such is a drawback, and they only offer a shuttle from the International Airport, not the lesser airlines (bush) despite close location
Review 10:Great location for Airport. Great staff. And not overrun with bus/cruise tours
Review 11:room on small size, less then a couple years ago (no gift shop) (example) open small one computer business center
Review 12:easy access to rooms, staff helpful, but not a lot of knowledge of Fairbanks area. ok a joining restaurant. ok menu, ok prices
Review 13:When we opened the door to the room assigned to us, we found someone else in it! (Inadequately trained night clerk had double booked room.) The complimentary breakfast touted on their web page cost us $6 each. Clock and light on nightstand were not plugged in.
Review 14:Comfortable beds, well equipped rooms, convenient location, reasonable prices.
Review 15:Wifi in bedroom was useless. Unable to do anything wifi because of speed. Tried to look at one website and gave up after 15 minutes of spinning cirlcle on my phone.
Review 16:Location and price
Review 17:All the vending machines broke and didn't have anything in them. I booked with booking.com..but the hotel charged my card full price. Then had to wait a week to get my funds back.
Review 18:Was a quiet area
Review 19:Prompt pickup from the airport by the shuttle even at 10pm. Very helpful reception desk staff. A comfortable room at a very reasonable rate (compared to the rate charged by another hotel a short distance away that we started a bus tour from).
Review 20:The hotel restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday in the Winter!! This should be vividly noted on the hotel's web page. Not good to have no food available at all except in vending machines! The thermostat in our first room was broken; had difficulty convincing the repair person that it was, indeed, broken. The heating system is, overall, quite archaic. Fan way too noisy. Would not want to stay here in the summer and have to listen to the AC! Old, see-through towels!
Review 21:The staff, especially Steve and Sarah and Delilah and Beau, were fantastic. These people were very personable and helpful to us re our specific needs, e.g., car rental, driving conditions, shuttles, advice re seeing the high points of the city of Fairbanks, getting boarding passes.
Review 22:Rooms were comfortable, staff friendly and very helpful. I chose this hotel for it's location for the start of the Iditarod and it turned out to be perfect. Would stay there again.
Review 23:Restaurant/bar just ok. With so many items on the menu and in bar unavailable, only the great lounge staff made dining/ drinking here acceptable.
Review 24:Wish staff had been more attuned to warn us when we cared off luggage with them and deferred checking in so as to rush for the shops that they would be closed early on Sun so we needn't have spent over $30 on transport on a failed trip to town.
Review 25:airport shutter service, provision of computer and internet at common area and friendly staff.
Review 26:There was a low pitched, grumbling whine from the air circulating system. When I complained to the night staff, they told me it wasn't there. As I have previously worked for this hotel, I knew it was and had been since the place was built. The night staff treated me as if I were crazy.
Review 27:The bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was good. The young lady at the desk (Mary?) was exceptionally friendly!
Review 28:1. Walls are paper thin - you can easily hear your neighbors talking 2. WiFi in my room was terrible - was told that the quality depends on which room you have (really?!?) 3. Breakfast buffet is a free-for-all - too crowded and not enough facilities for the number of people 4. Restaurant is closed on Sundays, leaving no dining out options in the immediate area
Review 29:Front desk staff are friendly, free shuttle to/from airport and rail station
Review 30:Price and internet crashing all the time. Not a place to "stay connected" with the outside world. Over priced rooms are reflected in where you are. Location, location, location. We could not find any room bargains anywhere in the area and suspect there are not any being the reason anyone goes there is Denali and area recreational interests.
Review 31:Location, Location, Location. Train station too far away to drag luggage but not a problem in any case as area motels offer free shuttle pick up and lodging in this case was only ten minutes. Check in was painless, efficient. World class lodging area for this part of Alaska all the way. Focus on where you are, and why you are there, and the negative issues will go away. The area is not intended to support your usual internet communication with the outside world. The area and attractions can not be seen in only a week. The park alone is huge.Too much to see and do. We need to come back.
Review 32:I booked this hotel 2months in advance, the price in Booking is $175 per night. But before I arrived, I found the price reduced to $105. But the receptionist refused to give me cheaper price. It totally unfair!! How about the cheapest price guarantee in Booking? Why I need to book in advance?! It is cheating and rob!!
Review 33:It near to airport. But the price is ridiculous . the freezer is very noisy
Review 34:The furniture is old
Review 35:The location is very near the airport and the breakfast is good
Review 36:Awesome staff and services. CVery clean and pleasant room
Review 37:location, breakfast
Review 38:Nothing.
Review 39:My friend leave a wallet in the room. They keep it for us. Very good service. They also give us a lot of information about Fairbanks.
Review 40:N/A
Review 41:I will like an Indoor pool
Review 42:Very conveniently 5 minutes from airport and great shuttle service
Review 43:nothing
Review 44:Bad room smell like pinesoll cleaner, room hot.
Review 45:Bkfst
Review 46:It would be nice if the breakfast was complimentary.
Review 47:Very restful stay. Got some much needed rest after an international flight.
Review 48:Fast check in.
Review 49:Nothing
Review 50:Interesting items in lobby. Comfortable. Clean. Very friendly staff
Review 51:WIFI very BAD!
Review 52:Location
Review 53:Great value for the price....we managed to get in on the low season price.
Review 54:The room was too hot on arrival. It's 85° Inside the room.
Review 55:Friendly staff, and clean rooms
Review 56:Horrible service looked like a breaking down hotel
Review 57:The Young man at the Desk seemed to have an attitude and was very rude.
Review 58:the cleanliness and comfort
Review 59:Close to airport with free shuttle
Review 60:Rooms were small
Review 61:Middle of winter its free to park, they offer transportation and breakfast
Review 62:Dust around the walls and around the night stands. Did not like that.
Review 63:Coffee, breakfast. Dining area.
Review 64:I got reservation on short notice and was treated so nice, room was awesome
Review 65:Desk staff was soso.
Review 66:The bed and tv
Review 67:We were not allowed to book in 5 mins early. Just stand around and wait. No good reason.
Review 68:Nothing really
Review 69:Everything worked
Review 70:Nothing, it was just what I was looking for.
Review 71:Good position. Plenty of car parking available. Restaurant OK but restaurant staff a bit inexperienced
Review 72:limited TV channels. Breakfast not the best I have had in hotels. Did not like soap in bathroom (too small)
Review 73:Bed was comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was just OK.
Review 74:Room wasn't clean. We stayed for two days, no new towels were issued. Bathroom wasn't touched, garbage wasn't emptied. Heating system was loud. Refrigerator didn't keep items cold.
Review 75:We had stayed at the Alpine a year prior and had no issues. This time was horrible. We won't be staying there again.
Review 76:Wifi was down almost a week, room and laundry staff are not that precise, only 1 washer is working, breakfast is barely passable, and could use revamping.
Review 77:Sarah, Steve, and Christo were all efficient, they helped smooth out some bumps 7n the road. Sarah deserves more $$, and should be running the front desk!!
Review 78:Upon checkout, I saw that I was charged $99 per night ($198 total for 2 nights, ecxluding taxes/other fees) instead of the Booking.com rate of $158 for 2 nights. The desk clerk acknowledged the error on Alpine's part but he said he didn't have the authority to fix the problem. I didn't get an airport shuttle pick-up either. It's ironic since it was the main reason I chose Alpine Lodge. Getting lunch was a problem since the lodge is in the middle of nowhere. The only way to get somewhere other than the airport or train station was to call a taxi.
Review 79:Continental breakfast barely made the grade. The attached restaurant isn't open for breakfast. Couple people at the front desk were good but couple others just so so. I'd expect these guys to be familiar with usual tourist's questions but they weren't.
Review 80:Location is good. They paid for taxi to and from airport.
Review 81:Shades drawn and inside window left open by staff. Did not catch it until the morning, but all night the room would not warm up. Had to go down and get extra blankets.
Review 82:Close to the airport.
Review 83:Really enjoyed my 10 nights here fornteh aurora. Hotel was very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. I chose this nHotel on the outskirts of town, formteh aurora, it had darker skies, and I saw them quite a few times!! There is a busstop out fron, but be aware that minimal to no service at weekends.
Review 84:The breakfast you had to pay $5 and it was not worth it! Too many carbs and no protein!! Food was bad!
Review 85:Very nice staff. Bed was comfy and room was clean.
Review 86:Although the location was close to airport, it was a little wayout of town.
Review 87:The staff were excellent and so accommodating, they went out of theirway to help and advise us of things to see and do. A young staff memberStephanie was excellent and so informative and her knowledge of the areaand Alaska was exceptional.
Review 88:I just want to say that this is the first time that I have given acompany a perfect score. Well I should say this is the first timewithout a bribe
Review 89:1 owner was friendly and helpful2. Breakfast was excellent 3. Owners family and pets were excellent I cannot understand why they do not have perfect scores
Review 90:While being one of the closest to the airport it is farthest from "downtown"
Review 91:For Alaska and especially Fairbanks this is a luxury hotel. It was very clean and decorated.
Review 92:The restaraunt was located such that we had to go outside in the cold toget to it. The food was not what we were accustomed to. The spices andnoodles used were strange and the appetizer had no flavor. The poorwaitress did her best to please us however.
Review 93:I enjoyed the accomodations and employees.
Review 94:Everything was fine. Happy with the room. Bus to town stopped right outside. Airport shuttle very convenient. Breakfast was filling. Laundry facilities. More than happy with our stay. Would stay again.
Review 95:Shuttle pick up from Rail Station.
Review 96:not that alaskan.
Review 97:close to the airport.
Review 98:That the bar didn't stay open later !
Review 99:I liked the bar.
Review 100:The television didn't have a TV guide, so I didn't know what was playing on what channel.
Review 101:The room was clean, well maintained and cozy.
Review 102:did not provide transport to small airfield on other side of airport
Review 103:close to airport
Review 104:The glasses at the continental breakfast were dirty.
Review 105:That is was close to the University. I was up visiting my son.
Review 106:Closeness to airport. Good value. Free shuttle to airport.
Review 107:All broken appliances and fixtures, horrible pillows, horrible value for price. Would not return!
Review 108:Good location near airport
Review 109:Not-so-great bed, poor gym, noisy.
Review 110:Close to airport
Review 111:Bit too far out of downtown Fairbanks.....maybe a shuttle service to there would be beneficial.
Review 112:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Review 113:Pretty pricey condidering very basic rooms and no breakfast
Review 114:Friendly staff, near to the airport.
Review 115:Could have used second blanket in closet in case you wanted it
