Reviews for Ashland Springs Hotel

Review 1:The line to check in was 4 clients deep at 5:30 on a Saturday night.

Review 2:Great location downtown and covered walkway to the secure parking lot. The breakfast was ample and included good coffee and yummy eggs and potatoes.

Review 3:Thought room was supposed to have queen beds but they were doubles. Not a big problem but you might want to ask, if that's something you need.

Review 4:Was a little worried after reading other reviews because it sounded like the rooms would be shabby but they were fine. Good value for the money. Staff was really nice, especially the manager who had to reset our door lock. Location is great; all units have balconies with water view.

Review 5:Location-Hotel is in the middle of the Main Street in Ashland, walking distans to all attractions in town. It is historical landmark of Ashland, well kept very charming and comfortable, one of the kind in today's modern world.

Review 6:Limited facilities, i.e., the beauty shop was across the street and a long flight up, which my wife could not manage. Also, no workout room.

Review 7:location, dining, ease of movement from parking lot

Review 8:I think it was a little spendy for the type of room we got. Room was a little small for us.

Review 9:Beautiful views, excellent location. The continental breakfast was very nice as well.

Review 10:After an exhausting trip to sacramento stopping here on the way back was the best decision of our trip. The place was so relaxing and just what we needed We almost didn't want to leave our room. Of course the hotel was right downtown so we were able to go out and explore on foot.

Review 11:Front desk lady was not informative or friendly but other than that great experience. Will definitely be back!

Review 12:Adorable little hotel in great location. Front desk staff left much to be desired.

Review 13:The breakfast could have been fresher.

Review 14:Beautifully decorated, clean, very friendly staff, nice holiday greeting, goal to be green, comfort, ability to control temp in the room.

Review 15:Beautiful large room, perfect location, hot breakfast buffet. We loved our stay. Springfield's is a block away for an exceptional dinner before a play.

Review 16:Bed was not that comfortable. NO firm, polyester pillows. When I asked the front desk they said they don't have any. Well, then go buy some! Down pillows are too soft.We had a King, corner room and it was not very big. Bathrooms are small and the sink and the toilet almost doll sized. Next time we visit Ashland (usually once a year) we will look for other accommodations. Something more modern and upscale. This is too much like a bed and breakfast in a hotel setting.

Review 17:Centrally located to everything in Ashland. Very good free continental breakfast. Parking on site in a private, secure lot. Lark's restaurant located downstairs.

Review 18:All great

Review 19:Absolutely luxurious without being ridiculously priced. Our room, while small, was supremely comfortable. Bed and linens top of the line. Most importantly, the two chairs were actually very comfortable; not the usual overly deep, poorly designed numbers typically found in most hotels. Sufficient lighting, windows that open, lovely amenities! Fantastic breakfast with a good cup of coffee. Also loved the restaurant downstairs. Superb meal, great cocktail and terrific wine. Staff were exceptional. Extra kudos to Jesse in the restaurant. Can't wait to go back on our next run to Oregon.

Review 20:The bathroom door was in the way.

Review 21:The hotel is a beautiful historic building. We loved it. Our room was on the third floor, so close to the parking lot, easy access to the breakfast, and with some stairs to walk up & down for exercise. Perfect for us. The hotel is tall, so no matter where we went exploring, we could see the hotel to get back again without getting lost. The Shakespeare plays were a short walk away. Perfect for us.

Review 22:There was very little room in the room as it was wall to wall bed. The bathroom was about twice the size of an airplane bathroom with no place to put anything. A large person would not fit in the shower.

Review 23:Location of the hotel was excellent. The included breakfast was good.

Review 24:I truly appreciate it's history but the elevator and carpets need some real attention.

Review 25:This historical hotel was in the perfect Ashland location. The restaurant was great and the beds very comfortable. I would love to stay again.

Review 26:We hate to criticize anything-- but the heater was extra noisy.

Review 27:We never had to get back in the car since we found the hotel to be in the perfect location. A big plus, the beds were luxurious. Also, It was wonderful to have free parking, at all times!

Review 28:Not really bad, as many locavore type restaurants fall into it, but the pretentious verging on precious menu in the hotel were ridiculous. Come on, its not a sin to say "green beans" instead of trying to impress one with vocabulary or foodie type phrases. Also, very high prices for the area.

Review 29:Loved the feel of the place. Like visiting your cozy grandmother's house. The decor was wonderful, esp the lobby display cases so true to the era.

Review 30:The king room is very small with tight quarters. Bathroom was adequate. Only hot item for breakfast was oatmeal. Very little protein.

Review 31:The location is perfect for the theaters, walking the town and Lithia Park. Excellent restaurants nearby. Continental breakfast was adequate.

Review 32:They might need to upgrade their bed linens and mattresses - the bed was pretty soft and the bed spread had a slight odor.

Review 33:We were excited to stay in this historical hotel and found the rooms to be charming and quite comfortable. We were surprised with an upgrade which allowed us to stay in one of their suites with a great view of Ashland. The hotel was peaceful and unique amenities were decorated the room. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed a great continental breakfast with a lot of variety on the balcony overlooking the lobby. Parking was free and convenient to the hotel.

Review 34:No hair dryer.

Review 35:This is a beautiful, historic place to stay with great atmosphere yet comfortable with modern amenities. Staff was friendly and breakfast good.

Review 36:breakfast room was crowded/noisy on the weekends (Maybe set up the Garden Room on the wkends)

Review 37:Breakfast (and Betty is a jewel) reception staff was friendly Views from the top rooms Very quiet in the rooms

Review 38:Minor things like the fact that the counter weights in my bedroom windows were broken so the window had to be propped open. Not unusual in an old building.

Review 39:since I traveled off season my room rate was a great bargain for the value. The adjacent Lark restaurant was wonderful. The whole hotel was better than I expected it would be.

Review 40:The dead plants and animals on display everywhere were kind of creepy. The restaurant was excellent, however the prices were what you would find in San Francisco Bay Area.

Review 41:The only thing they might be able to improve on a small bit are their bed pillows. Wheather or not that changes if will have no bearing on returning there for a wonderful time,

Review 42:The staff was great, even working on Christmas Day! This is not the first time and not the last time we will stay there.

Review 43:Having to park on the street, check in to get a parking pass, then move my car into the designated lot. A bit of a hassle trying to find parking nearby!

Review 44:Gorgeous room, very clean, better bath tub than I even have at home! Their breakfast is lovely, and the hotel itself is walking distance from Ashland Co-op for groceries!

Review 45:We had the corner room of the pet-friendly 3rd floor. Easy access to the room from free parking in the rear of the building. Nice deep tub! Roomy bathroom. Comfortable bed with down pillows. Beautiful view of the mountains. Strong wifi and easy to log in. Friendly front desk staff.

Review 46:room constantly overheated day/night....NO heat/cool controls. entering gate.....gate took repeated attempts..exiting car to open gate hotel would benefit from better and more signage....strategically placed.

Review 47:ambience location desk

Review 48:They upgraded us to a Deluxe King which was very spacious. We are so glad that this year all rooms have minifrigs. It's wonderful to overlook this beautiful town and valley from top floor.

Review 49:creaky elevator, huge draft under bathroom door due to ventilation design

Review 50:Historical charm, comfortable beds, nice cinnamon rolls and ambience at breakfast, easy walking distance to shops, theatre, restaurants.

Review 51:basic hotel. Granted it does have charm but it is old and you can hear everything. Rooms are small and bathrooms are old and cramped.

Review 52:the lobby and location

Review 53:The "queen" bed was NOT a queen size bed. It was a full size bed. The bed was hard as a rock. Neither my gf or I slept much either night we stayed there because it was so uncomfortable. The room was small! Like my walk-in closet was bigger type of small. The furniture was old as was the bathroom design and fixtures. Needs lots of updating to be worthy of $120/night. The elevator is slooooooow. It's much faster to take the stairs.

Review 54:The location is the only thing going for this hotel. It's right on the corner of 1st and Main. Perfect for rolling out of your hotel room and strolling down Main Street through Ashland. The hotel looks great from outside as well, especially at night.

Review 55:Needed a full breakfast start to my days so had to leave the hotel to do that.

Review 56:A gracious old historic landmark hotel with charm and style. Pleasant, helpful staff. Convenient parking inside gated lot. Adequate continential breakfast for those looking for a light breakfast. Location is excellent in the center of town within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and lovely Lithia Park.

Review 57:My flight was flight home was cancelled and I had to stay an extra night, but boutique queen rooms were all that was left. The room was extremely small with no dresser or fridge. The bathroom is about 4'x4' and you can barely turn around in the shower. It was tolerable for one night, but upgrade at all cost if you can! The larger rooms are MUCH better!

Review 58:Very comfortable surroundings. Light and bright and cheery. Very accommodating staff. I had the view queen for 5 nights which was very comfortable for one person. I wouldn't suggest going any smaller. The breakfast was far more than a basic continental. Larks, the in hotel restaurant, is outstanding! I have already booked my next 2 stays!

Review 59:We had no dislikes. It met all our needs and expectations.

Review 60:The location, combined with clean and comfortable accommodations make this a place we will return to again.

Review 61:Hard to imagine what is bad about the place...

Review 62:This hotel is a gem. The staff so helpful and kind..We had an accident that required a trip to the emergency room. When we phone down to the front desk they not only told us where to go, but they provided us with directions when we came downstairs. Don't want to forget the Lark, their wonderfully homemade food.

Review 63:Room size is tight with the King bed.

Review 64:The king size bed was very comfortable. Larks restaurant for complementary breakfast was just right. Dinner at restaurant was exceptional.

Review 65:Slow elevator limited to 5 people

Review 66:Historic hotel that's been attractively renovated and modernized. Very quiet, even when there was a loud wedding reception downstairs. Very convenient location next to Oregon Shakespeare Festival - we didn't have a car and didn't need one.

Review 67:It is definitely the best location of any hotel and impossible to miss. Evening snacks, tea, and a continental breakfast makes exceptional additional value.

Review 68:I booked this hotel because I thought it would be convenient for getting to the play, but it was even more convenient than I had anticipate. Parking was convenient to the hotel as well. We enjoyed the afternoon tea and the snacks after the play. We weren't able to get dinner reservations, so do that early!

Review 69:Some, only a few, rooms are very small.

Review 70:Very comfortable bed. One block from renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival theaters. Very nice included continental breakfast.

Review 71:The carpets in the halls and room were so dirty it was gross. I was afraid to walk without shoes. The door to the room shook every time someone down the hall open or closed their door. The ice machines were outside on the parking lot level. The beds were too soft. The rooms were very small.

Review 72:The location was very good and parking was free. The breakfast was ok not great.

Review 73:I found my room very clean and comfortable. Even though it is an old hotel, it is well maintained and very charming. I like that it is an Historic Landmark in Ashland and within walking distance of everything you want to do there.

Review 74:Less than stellar insulation. Could hear everything in hallway.

Review 75:Adorable room with all of the amenities. Small, but filled with everything that was needed. breakfast buffet was amazing! Family loved that it was so cute on the inside but looked like the Tower of Terror ride at California Adventure.

Review 76:Bath tub, bath salts and sachet, bedding, breakfast, style

Review 77:nothing!

Review 78:The view was wonderful!

Review 79:Very Beautiful. The staff were great. Complimentary breakfast was wonderful. Great location, the center of town.

Review 93:Everything [Else]

Review 94:Very, very, small and musty room. Old and not very clean.

Review 95:Convenient location, nice breakfast included, and parking included.

Review 96:One block to the theater means leaving the hotel at 1:10 PM for a 1:30 PM show. The hotel lobby is also a very nice place to sit and relax

Review 97:Not a dog-friendly City, no dogs allowed in Lithia Park,!

Review 98:The location.
