Reviews for Canyons Hotel - A Canyons Collection Property
Review 1:No introduction to facilities, staff at reception not pro-active. Just facilitating the check in. We expect to experience something different in a boutique hotel.
Review 2:Nice room, great breakfast
Review 3:Small, very well designed and decorated, reasonable prices for staying. We had a king spa room with fireplace. Oh it was so good in late November. Reception is just perfect, breakfast is very good, except it would be great to have something with coffee, cookie or pastry, otherwise beyond expectations.
Review 4:Excellent place, probably the best hotel in Kanab. Location is perfect for exploring Zion, Bryce Canyon and several other great places like The Wave, Grand Canyon north rim, Pariah Canyon and Buckskin Gulch
Review 5:Room look and feel old Breakfast was ok, not enough variety for kids or people with dietary restrictions such as Gluten free diet
Review 6:Great Location, close to Bryce, Zion, Antelope, Grand Canyon National Park. Good value Friendly staff
Review 7:Over all the place seemed clean but the shower had a little mildew problem and a washcloth hanging in the shower from a previous guest...
Review 8:Very comfortable beds and pillows. We a slept very well and our service dog was well received too. Brandon at the front desk was very nice and helpful.
Review 9:The large jacuzzi / could be difficult to get out of.
Review 10:Excellent overnight stop. The modern restaurant was a real and welcome bonus after a long day. Staff all very welcoming, pleasant and efficient. Excellent breakfast and, as a last minute choice, the hotel was good value for money.
Review 11:I was disappointed because all the pictures showed the rooms havingkitchens. Ours did not have a kitchen, and it was just like any otherhotel room out there, except we paid more. I chose this place cause itseemed nice, but when we got there, the furniture was falling apart, theroom smelled and felt moist, the heater was the loudest thing I'veever heard in a hotel! It kept me up all night the 1st night, and the2nd night, I turned it off.
Review 12:The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfy.
Review 13:The only things we think could be improved upon would be a step to get into the jacuzzi. It was quite difficult to get in and out of. Directions about how the shower works would be helpful and something on the floor of the tub . It gets quite slippery.
Review 14:The staff was very helpful . Kevin took us off road for about 5 hrs. We were able to visit places the ordinary tourist doesn't usually get to see. The room was lovely and the price was good. Our breakfast each day was very good. This area has lots to do and is beautiful. We will be back again and recommend the Canyon Hotel.
Review 15:Room had an odor that cleared up somewhat but not completely after staff cleaned the air conditioning filter. Refrigerator made a noise which kept us awake.
Review 16:Central location among the parks.
Review 17:The fire pit area should have a two or tree sided privacy screen from the road and maybe parking lot atea.
Review 18:Classy, comfortable, NOT expensive...AT ALL!!! By far the best hotel in Kanab. Awesome dinner and breakfast!
Review 19:Odd - toilet was behind the bathroom door - bad design -other than that, great room
Review 20:Really nice room, quiet. Sage restaurant was unbelievable and excellent! Would drive there just for the restaurant! Great staff
Review 21:The room was not clean. There were many things on the floor, chew toys, dirty socks, earplugs, safety pin, coin. Very expensive for the area. Room was dark poorly lighted. The swimming pool was outside and across the street.
Review 22:Desk staff was very good breakfast. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 23:Beautiful property, excellent service, wonderful breakfast ! Lovely fire pit and pool area, beautifully landscaped. Large rooms, you couldn't ask for more !
Review 24:I thought the bathroom counter space was very skimpy and inconvenient. There was not room to get out my water pik and things I needed to use.
Review 25:The staff was very helpful and courteous. The pre-email welcoming us the day before reminded me to ask for needed accommodation, with no stairs for 80 year olds. Our room was quiet. There was almost enough room for hanging closet space. The included breakfast was exquisite.
Review 26:Our room was a bit beat up. Toilet ran, Shower/bath did not empty, toilet seat wobbled. (toilet was fixed and bath/shower was fixed by maintenance while we were there)
Review 27:The staff people are wonderful, the breakfast was great.
Review 28:Slightly noisy pipes.
Review 29:Very helpful and friendly staff. Modern restaurant with great tasting dishes. Easy access to Grand Canyon North Rim, Bryce Canyon and Zion.
Review 30:Bedroom was dark and n I think boutique style in my opinion. Shower door was minging. Really dusty by nightstand and behind bed. Curtain was torn and window looked out onto a wall. Scrambled eggs were overcooked at breakfast and potatoes were dry.
Review 31:Restaurant and outside areas looked great - nice quirky touches.
Review 32:Small hotel located around the corner of the small town, not very cost effective though.
Review 33:Small but clean hotel, staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. Dinner is good but breakfirst is just OK.
Review 34:Small village but excellent location: stay here for visiting several National Parks as Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon. Very nice hall (also outside) and super breakfast!
Review 35:AC was loud during the night.
Review 36:Very friendly and caring staff. They provide complementary bikes. Parking directly in front of the property. The restaurant in this hotel is very good! A little bit pricy but it's definitely worth it.
Review 37:Checked in at the hotel; almost twice the price of the canyon lodge ( same property) across the street. Swimming pool : is the lodge's one. Room, nicely renovated but for the A/C ( old noisy item) and window ( impossible to open). Breakfast : same as the lodge one, not much of a choice, charged 10 dollars for 2 cappuccinos. In the end, why spend 200+ dollars to get the lodge services?
Review 38:Positioned conveniently for many parks visits.
Review 39:The shower could have been cleaner! Sheets were pilly and worn, but clean. The facility could use some updating--grout in the bathroom was gappy and coming out in places, and the window curtain was ripped/shredded. The AC fan was really loud as it cycled off and on. TV picture was very poor quality. I was a little disappointed for the money. Small things, but attention to detail seems lacking.
Review 40:We enjoyed the complimentary bikes. The on-site restaurant was excellent. A concern we had over the backed-up shower drain was addressed quickly.
Review 41:Dirty wash cloth left in bathroom when we arrived, confusing WiFi instructions, overpriced.
Review 42:Nice, if a bit different room, good breakfast, courteous staff.
Review 43:The shower stall had mold and mildew.
Review 44:The ambiance of the place was relaxing. The person on the phone taking my reservation and helping us check in was wonderful. The breakfast staff were friendly. The large jacuzzi tub was magnificent. The room was comfortable and clean.
Review 45:Too much money for what you get. We stayed in the lodge "across the road", the rooms were small. The overall quality is fair, but absolutely not worth the nearly $200 they charged us. They were stating 'having problems with booking.com', they couldn't find our booking and placed us in the lodges, instead of the room we booked. After searching for 1 minute she found our booking, so I assume their problems with booking.com are related to not checking if there are any.
Review 46:The main building looked great.
Review 47:Nothing in particular
Review 48:We stayed in the 3rd floor suites. It's huge. One king bed, one queen bed and one sofa bed in all. The breakfast is nice. This hotel has a lovely recreation area and bonfire at night is definitely a catch.
Review 49:A lovely litte boutique hotel not far from interesting sites. Friendly and serviceminded staff, beautiful rooms and an outstanding restaurant on site. The bicycles was also a nice treat and the outside lounge.
Review 50:We loved staying here and felt that it was a very positive experience. We would stay again. Very friendly staff and the room was clean, well decorated and even had 2 velour robes in the closet. So nice.
Review 51:The coffeemaker in the room was teenie and there is no elevator. Our room was on the second floor, uncomfortable to carry lots of bags. TV was really fuzzy.
Review 52:We loved the comfort of the bed, size of room and decor. There was coffee and water in the lobby that was very nice. There wasn't much to do in the area.
Review 53:The Jacuzzi tub was unclean and full of hair. The pool as shown in the pictures is across the street and half a block down at another of their properties. The breakfast buffet is poorly laid out and the kitchen is small. They feed at least two of their three properties there and on the second day we were unable to get breakfast at all. We went into town and made them reimburse us. Even when not busy the restaurant can barely keep the buffet fully served. There was no bacon the third day and I am required to eat only proteins. Based on the actions of the day before they hustled up some bacon for my family.
Review 54:The breakfast when it was available, the size of the rooms, the bed was phenomenal. Having bicycles available was very nice and we took advantage.
Review 55:We did not encounter any negatives during our stay.
Review 56:Rooms were large, comfortable, very clean, and tastefully decorated. Staff was outstanding. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 57:Our room (2nd floor) was very dark. New restaurant has good quality food but is at least 30 percent too expensive. Spent 80 bucks for 3 and went away hungry.
Review 58:Cozy and comfortable rooms. Victorian style building, recently refurbished bathrooms.
Review 59:The staff here will do anything to make sure your stay is wonderful. They are opening a restaurant soon and if it's as good as the breakfast it will do well.
Review 60:Who ever was in the room upstairs above us spent from 10:00 PM to 11:30 PM making a fair bit of noise. Maybe requesting an upstairs room would solve the problem.
Review 61:Our room was small but very comfortable. The free breakfast had a lot of variety.
Review 62:I would have liked breakfast to start earlier.
Review 63:This hotel was spacious, very clean, real good breakfasts, people working there are the best. I would recommend this hotel to everybody.
Review 64:The location was not great for getting to Bryce and other destinations in the area. It took 90 minutes to get to Bryce Canyon. We would definitely try staying in Bryce or Tropic next time. The staff was a little odd, but mostly friendly. Our room was not very quiet. We could hear traffic on the road, bumps from the kitchen starting at 6 am, and the air conditioner was loud and clunky. Not a terrible stay overall, but I don't think we will be back.
Review 65:If you're looking to stay in Kanab, this is probably your best bet. The hotel is clean and comfortable and offers free breakfast every morning. Travis, the owner of the hotel, was extremely helpful and friendly.
Review 66:There was not many vegetarian/vegan option at breakfast, quite surprising when a lot of the customers came to visit Best Friends and therefore are mostly vegetarian or vegan.
Review 67:Most of all, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 68:Had no negative experiences at Canyons.
Review 69:Pleasantly unlike your standard motel/hotel stay. Terrific staff, ambience, nice rooms with spa tub and real closet, fireplace (didn't use), linen spritzer/freshener by the bed. Great breakfast, usually with a nice sliced ham. Staff cheerfully fills your cooler with ice. A large dispenser of chilled, infused water with cups always awaits in the lobby, at least, in warm weather months. Canyons is now the only property we'll use in Kanab. We've been spoiled.
Review 70:Stairs to 2nd Floor were a bit difficult for seniors. Best to stay in a ground floor unit
Review 71:Great rooms nicely decorated and very comfortable. They've done a beautiful re-modeling job of the entire hotel
Review 72:the breakfast was very good but the room was too small to be comfortable when a large family group came
Review 73:Lovely, room. The staff were very kind and accomodating. Very nice quality toiletries. The location was convenient
Review 74:Breakfasts were better than what is offered at chains like the Holiday Inn Express or the Hampton Inns, but did not offer enough variety or cheese selections as do inns in Europe. Great coffee, though, and it was made available all day.
Review 75:Charming inn with very welcoming and helpful staff. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Review 76:The first room they gave us - deluxe king - was very small, plus the bathtub was dirty and the shower curtain moldy. They moved us to another room but we had to take a queen bed and it wasn't very comfortable.
Review 77:Location was great for visiting Bryce, Zion and the Grand Canyon. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.
Review 78:I was very impressed with the quality of the property and with the service. The rooms were great, the location excellent, and the breakfast was good.
Review 79:Breakfast was a little disappointing.
Review 80:The staff are stand-out excellent. Very comfortable room, nice decor. Good location for the south Utah national parks and Grand Canyon.
Review 81:Room could have been cleaner, black mold on shower head, tub not cleaned properly. Kleenex empty, not refilled. More attention is required to the condition of room. Wi-fi was spotty.
Review 82:Friendly staff
Review 83:WiFi was quite bad - were not able to actually connect. Lack of pool on the hotel property.
Review 84:The hotel very well kept. Beds were quite comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Review 85:Breakfast organization was poor. Staff seemed disorganized.
Review 86:All of the staff was so helpful and kind. The room was very clean and had everything you needed. Breakfast was delicious and started nice and early.
Review 87:Hard to find hotel as name was different than what was on my booking.
Review 88:Friendly Staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. A little pricey but considering the area and the amount of other hotel/motel in area it is understandable.
Review 89:Sound insulation isn't fantastic. If you have loud people upstairs you can hear everything through the thin layer between the two floors. We had children that ran around at 11.30pm and made quite a bit of noise
Review 90:Almost everything was perfect. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Very nice feel to the place
Review 91:The staff was always available and always went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Breakfast, served for this hotel and their sister hotel across the street was delicious and bountiful.
Review 92:Breakfast needs improvement. TV power button did not work. Housecleaning needs to improve a bit. Wake up call first night was not on time.
Review 93:The staff were excellent. The rides into town on the little car were a plus.
Review 94:Just had an amazing stay at the Canyons Inn in Kanab Ut.! Beautiful place, very friendly staff, lovely room & great breakfast:) Kanab is a beautiful little town surrounded by gorgeous red mountains. Would recommend this property & for people to go to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary! Whole reason for going to Kanab. Looking forward to returning & would stay at the Inn again!
Review 95:My only complaint was that the shower wasn't clean. All else wasgreat. Probably just an oversight.
Review 96:Great place to stay. Very friendly staff. Good location.
Review 97:Nothing, awesome experience!
Review 98:Cleanliness, fresh smelling, the warm and inviting ambiance, the staff friendly and accommodating, outstanding breakfast spread, unbelievably reasonably priced. Animal friendly. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Review 99:Perfect hotel to stay when you're "in between canyons" (grand canyon and bryce/zyon). Very nice room, staff is very friendly, excellent location (near city center and easy to find), absolutely no remarks.
Review 100:The only thing I didn't like was the wifi accessibility & speed. They desperately need boosters & faster speeds.
Review 101:Liked everything, the decor, friendliness of the staff, just overall agreat hotel
Review 102:There was not one thing we didn't like!
Review 103:We loved this hotel. The room was large and clean, the fireplace was very inviting, and the staff was excellent. Location was reasonably close to both Zion and Bryce. A wonderful place to relax and forget about the busy world outside.
Review 104:No bad experiences!
Review 105:I have driven by the Victorian Inn several times in the past and have always wanted to spend a night there. We were returning home from our 66 day road trip and decided to spend a night at the Victorian Inn. What a surprise! the owners are currently renovating the property and our room was spectacular. It was the only room we stayed in during our trip that had a fireplace in it. The rest of the room was beautiful. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and had a large selection of items to choose from. We will definitely stay there again. We ranked the Victorian Inn as the #3 hotel that we stayed in during our 66 day road trip!
Review 106:Some people upstairs were to loud. The next time I stay there, which I will, I will request an upstairs room
Review 107:I liked the room, the fireplace, the location and the local knowledge the staff shared with me.
Review 108:Food was slow coming out for breakfast but I think everyone arrived at once!
Review 109:Friendly staff, lovely rooms. Wi fi was fast and realiable and great value for money!
Review 110:Our room was not so clean : there was much dust.. so we had to ask to clean it up.
Review 111:Check-in-staff was friendly. Interior was very nice. Breakfast was good, too.
Review 112:The only thing I would have liked to modify would be adding a vegan option to the warm breakfast.
Review 113:The Victorian Inn was very pleasant, and comfortable, it was also very conveniently located, because it was close to everything i needed (hikes, bureau of land management, and a nice restaurant). For those of you who spend the day hiking, there's no better way to end it than with a jacuzzi, to relax before dinner or bed. I would definitely go back.
Review 114:The town of Kanab, UT, offers little in the way of dining, and like many small towns across the country "rolls up the streets" at dusk.
Review 115:The Victorian Inn offered very good proximity to a number of national parks and monuments (Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon North Rim), which was the purpose of this vacation.
Review 116:very friendly staff at the registration. The breakfast was very good. They have hotel beach-bikes you can take for a quick hop to town. Was quite fun to do that after a day of driving in the car. Hotel is also equipped with furniture to make it look old. Looks nice!
Review 117:Nothing. Everything was great.
Review 118:The character and decor of the Inn are amazing. The staff, especially Kevin and Travis, are extremely helpful and accommodating.
Review 119:The room we were in was just off the lobby - it was intended for wheel-chair access... it was just a bit awkward for our tastes.
Review 120:The rooms are large and comfortable, well appointed. All staff were very attentive, extremely helpful and friendly. Very clean throughout. Breakfast was great.
Review 121:Need to add a mirror in the bedroom area.
Review 122:The inn is always clean, provides great customer service and is centrally located to the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce.
Review 123:Very disappointed with our small room, which was not very well ventilated. quite expensive for what we got. Other rooms seemed to be much bigger, many with fireplaces but not sure how you got these.
Review 124:Staff very friendly, location.
Review 125:Bed was not clean, no one was available to change it because we arrived very late: we had to sleep dressed!
Review 126:Very nice victorian style building and interiors.
Review 127:The per night fee is one of the highest in the area, and I don't think the value is there for a longer stay. For the cost I expected more of a B&B atmosphere, but it's just a nice small hotel with an Ok breakfast. However, they have no trouble with bookings, so it will probably not change. I will not stay there again only because of this cost/value issue, not anything else.
Review 128:The hotel is nicely appointed and clean. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good firm bed, comfortable. Wifi worked well and was free.
Review 129:That we could only stay for one night
Review 130:- breakfast was really good, with a wide selection - the staff was super friendly and nice, the guy at the reception gave us directions to the supermarket and made a reservation for us at a really good restaurant in walking distance (rocking v cafe) - very beautiful and large room, we had a whirlpool bath tube (that was a really nice surprise)
Review 131:that our vacation here had to end!
Review 132:beautiful room, elegant bath. Chris and Kevin served an awesome breakfast daily. All the desk help went out of their way to make the stay memorable.
Review 133:sometimes very crowded breakfast room; the usual high sugar American breakfast cereals and cooked products, and better than usual ordinary American coffee that still falls below international standards.
Review 134:helpful, friendly staff offering good advice. facilities to use communal computer and print material free. slightly off the main road so not noisy. comfortable beds and bathroom
Review 135:The rooms are not very good soundproofed, thus sleeping longer in the moning is nearly impossible. But that's the case in nearly all US hotels
Review 136:Very nice Hotel in old Victorian style, big rooms equipped with everything you need, very friendly staff and a breakfast which is much better than in other hotels
Review 137:This was the best in Kenab. Ron at desk was very helpful and drew a map for slot canyon adventure at Buckskin Gulch. Unforunately the day we planned area hit with large rainfall. I highly recommend this Inn !
