Reviews for Flagship Inn of Ashland
Review 1:Very convenient location - right next to two restaurants we like. Good WiFi, well-kept facilities, and a great value. We always try to stay here when we're in town.
Review 2:Long walk (~1 mile) from downtown. Only a problem because it was raining.
Review 3:Convenient stop over on a drive down I-5. Close enough to downtown if the weather is nice. Clean and comfortable room. Easy check in and check out.
Review 4:This was a clean and well appointed facility for the price range, We loved the Keurig coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator in the room. The continental breakfast was pretty good also and we would definitely recommend this for an overnight stay
Review 5:The breakfast included minimal fruit (oranges) and a gravy for the biscuits was not very good. The front desk help was very friendly and helpful, but the staff maintaining the breakfast bar had a terrible attitude and really was annoyed that guests were in the breakfast room.
Review 6:Nice clean room. Two queen beds in room but room was nice sized not cramped.
Review 7:we couldn't get the room heated exactly the way we wanted....it was either too hot or too cold, but that could have been our fault and it was no big deal.
Review 8:The Staff was very friendly and check in was easy after booking with booking.com. We love the location (one of our favorite coffee places, CASE is right next door and the price is a steal!
Review 9:Lots of off leash dogs. Our 13 year old Labrador was attacked by an off leash Shepherd in the parking lot.
Review 10:Super cleanly & has the perfect small cottage + modern mix
Review 11:Amazing experience. Joshua was at the front desk and was very helpful. He recommended great places to hang out at and go to eat. The rooms were comfortable. And enjoy the idea of a complementary breakfast. The water was hot, the sheets were clean. Very pleasant stay will be returning again.
Review 12:The check in guy is super nice and efficient, he has been at the front desk the past two times we have stayed there, nice he is retained with you all, RAISE?
Review 13:Newly remodeled, clean, Keurig coffee maker in room, refrigerator, microwave, flat-screen tv, good wifi. Also, the breakfast is decent given that it's free.
Review 14:Everything was fine.
Review 15:The included breakfast is decent, better than expected. The in-room Kuerig coffee maker with the pods is a nice convenience. It's about one mile to downtown, close enough to walk if you want. The free wifi worked great. This place is a very good value for the price.
Review 16:Very clean, comfortable beds, nice big TV, quite room, convenient location. Beautifully decorated room. Nice soaps & hair care products. Kruig in room was excellent.
Review 17:The room looked clean and smelled fresh to me but my dog found interesting odors everywhere.
Review 18:Friendly office staff. Comfortable bed but the pillows were a bit lumpy. Great internet service. Good coffee in the room.
Review 19:most of the staff were pleasant- I objected to finding a pet fee added on to my confirmed rate with booking.com. I now know that is a problem with booking on line not the hotel. The manager split the difference. That was kind.
Review 20:location, ample parking, quiet, pet friendly, good coffee in the room
Review 21:Breakfast was not worth the effort - but a wonderful breakfast place is next door.
Review 22:Location, cleanliness, comfort - just fine. Nothing exceptional, but more than adequate for the price.
Review 23:Someone left Chinese takeaway and a bottle of perhaps insulin in fridge and made didn't catch it
Review 24:attentive front desk easy storing bikes inside quiet Subway shop next door
Review 25:Location - close to everything of interest. The room was roomy; it was, and smelled, wonderfully clean; the bed was sooo comfy; nice appointments. Really terrific!!
Review 26:Breakfast a little sparse.
Review 27:Had all the modern conveniences in the room. Well thought out. Very comfortable. Great Mexican restaurant on site. I'd stay again.
Review 28:Beyond hotel control, but, other guests closing doors loudly throughout evening/night. Creaking doors.
Review 29:Very clean, updated room, excellent location. Would definitely recommend to friends & stay there again. Loved Kruig coffee maker in room with k-pods. Nice TV, comfortable mattress.
Review 30:Wifi unreliable. Wasting paper and plastic products inbreakfast room. Please save trees.
Review 31:Very comfortable room, generous breakfast, friendly staff, microwave and fridge helpful.
Review 32:This hotel caters to groups....lots of tour buses....serving both young and old. Staff's ability to grasp very basic requests and communicate them accurately is subpar. The breakfast is considered an asset to attract customers, but offers lower-quality choices. We visit Ashland annually for the Shakespeare Festival. This was our first time in this hotel, and it is also our last time.
Review 33:The woman who cleaned and refreshed our room was thorough and a true professional.
Review 34:Couldn't find anything wrong; all the bases were covered.
Review 35:Beds were comfortable; dark, quiet room. Coffee was the best, so were the breakfast choices...fruit and healthy muffins, eggs, and french toast. Loved the location, across from the college and near restaurants.
Review 36:Cleaniness, attractiveness and convenience. Quiet, attractively furnished. This motel exceeded by expectations entirely. On a par with pricier options.
Review 37:The "free breakfast" is not any good unless you like dry cereal with milk that comes from a machine spout. There is no coffee in the room except for those pre-packaged make- one-cup at a time deals. Bring your own coffee, coffee mug and electric water heater and you'll be fine. You can purchase good coffee within walking distance of the motel too.
Review 38:The motel is a little more than a mile from downtown and the festival. Very walkable. The room was very nice. The pool is tiny and totally unshaded. So I wan't ever enticed to take a swim in it despite if being blistering hot most days.
Review 39:The heater didn't appear to work, but it wasn't that cold outside, so didn't pursue trying to figure it out. Also, the towel bar in the bath area was too low, but I could understand why they placed it there.
Review 40:Convenient location to I-5, Southern Oregon University (right across the street!), and downtown Ashland. Good breakfast. Free WiFi that was speedy and worked well. Comfy bed. Good lighting in room, so one could read. Room on the backside of the property was very quiet. Microwave and refrigerator were good.
Review 41:The pool was advertised as "solar heated". I got in on a sunny day and the water temp could be described as frigid. I guess that means: "our pool is heated to whatever extent possible when the sun is shining". I did not see any solar panels. I was out in less than 5 minutes. Deceptive advertising? And I didn't like that the pool was adjacent to a busy street and visible from the public sidewalk. We were annoyed by the heavy-sounding movements from the room above ours. I spoke with the management, they understood our concerns and took care of it right away.
Review 42:The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that our room was on the backside of the building, minimizing the traffic noise from the busy street out front. The nightly rate was lower than most other motels/hotels in town.
Review 43:Someone forgot to empty the fridge of ice that had defrosted before we arrived. I went to the office to ask for help. Alexa walked back with me immediately, got more towels and mopped the water out of the freezer and up from the rug in record time. She gave us clean towels to replace the wet ones. Her apology for someone else's forgetfulness was gratefully accepted. The room smelled clean and was well-lighted. Nice new in-room coffee brewer. .
Review 44:We were greeted very warmly upon arrival. It was nicely furnished and comfortable. It was convenient to the downtown area, being only a short walk or cab ride.
Review 45:The only somewhat negative is window air conditioning units.
Review 46:This is amazing value because it is a 20-25 minute walk from downtown. The rooms are well-equipped and have been upgraded since our last stay. A nice breakfast is included. We have stayed four times now, and it had been better each time.
Review 47:The carpet was so disgustingly old and dirty. It made us feel dirty walking on it. It's time to replace it. Breakfast is ok, mediocre at best.
Review 48:Location to SOU is awesome. WE could walk to our daughter's dorm.
Review 49:The staff was very friendly & helpful! Location was perfect, especially for SOU events, with comfortable, clean, & quiet rooms. Right on city bus line for easy rides to downtown Ashland, or on to Medford. Convenient parking & the Mexican restaurant next door is great!!
Review 50:We stayed there last year at this time and was so very pleased. Good to know that things have remained constant and we enjoyed our say this year as well.
Review 51:The staff was very nice and the breakfast was much more comprehensive than we expected. It's an easy drive into town. It is right next to the college. The grounds are beautiful.
Review 52:I called at 8:00 p.m. on the night we were to arrive and asked for a first floor room. They were fully booked and she said she could not grant my request. Upon arriving she said that she had been able to rearrange things so that we did have a first floor room. We very much appreciated that the night clerk went to the trouble to grant our request.
Review 53:The breakfasts were mediocre, pretty much the same every day, not as good as the chain hotels. Could have used bacon or sausage once in a while.
Review 54:Location and nice room. Not elegant but friendly and clean. Prompt maid service.
Review 55:Excellent location, close to the centre of the town. Breakfast was great! Lots of different choices and plenty of food. Staff was very efficient and was very helpful in answering our questions regarding the town's attractions.
Review 56:breakfast room too few tables. My 87 & 89 yr old parents and I had to haul our breakfast back to our to our room to eat sitting down.
Review 57:Requested a ground floor room.we got that, plus in a row off the main road. Very quiet. Very clean and comfortable. Facility appears to be well maintained. front desk very helpful with dining suggestions. sent us to Standing Stone brewpub, which was outstanding.
Review 58:Breakfast was not great. Broken toaster, limited options. Would have liked more fruit and cereal choices, whole wheat bread, low fat milk.
Review 59:Although the motel seemed full, the room was quiet and I slept well. It was possible to open a window for some fresh air.
Review 60:The hotel is on the older side but they have kept it quite clean.
Review 61:We were in Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. When we check-in, staff was very nice and asked about what shows we were seeing. Hotel room was very spacious. Next door is a wonderful brunch place.
Review 62:The breakfast was pretty awful. The juices were pure syrup and there was nothing that wasn't bread based--donuts, french toast, biscuits, toast... The apples they had were old and sad.
Review 63:This hotel was right across the street from Southern Oregon University, which was why we were in Ashland, for a college visit. It was also within walking distance of downtown.
Review 64:The bed was too hard. I couldn't sleep. And my daughter said the coffee in the room wasn't good.
Review 65:The location was perfect for visiting the University. The room was comfortable with air conditioning on a hot day. The staff were friendly.
Review 66:There was very space to eat breakfast. All the tables were taken. There were a lot of PCT backpackers taking up multiple tables.
Review 67:This was just what we needed, but the bathrooms and vanity area wasn't updated. The location is a little further from downtown than I would have preferred, but it wasn't bad.
Review 68:Location too far from city center & restaurants. Not walkable. Breakfast was okay but not great.
Review 69:Value for money. Clean. Easy to get cab in to city center.
Review 70:Breakfast was pretty standard prepackaged stuff.. Wish there had been evidence of recycling as even the paper coffee cups were wrapped in plastic! After a while I long for a healthy whole wheat bagel and some protein for breakfast...
Review 71:Room was comfortable and clean. Good fridge and m'wave, comfy bed. The pool was a bonus on scorching days.
Review 72:Directly across from sou, this is a great location for families withkids at sou. The beds are really comfortable, and the staff is friendlyand helpful for late arrivals or changing reservations. The rooms arealso clean. The continental breakfast included bagels with toppings, french toast, biscuits and gravy, cereal, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, hotand cold beverages. But go next door to the Morning Glory for a reallywow breakfast or brunch.
Review 73:Breakfast was just ok. A waffle maker would help. The size of the roomshould be doubled. A high school team stayed there when we were thereand took every chair and table. Open up the room next door, or remodeland bump it out the back. It is too small for the number of rooms inthe motel!
Review 74:Keurig coffee in the room was great.
Review 75:Breakfast was minimal, but we found a great breakfast restaurant a block away.
Review 76:A little farther away from the Shamespear Center than we wanted, but we otherwise loved the hotel.
Review 77:Nothing
Review 78:The room was clean and nicely decorated. The location was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The best of all, the breakfast included homemade biscuits and gravy!!!
Review 79:Ample spacious room. We'll appointed. Welcoming friendly check-in & out. Bountiful offerings at breakfast. Easy walk to OSF & downtown Ashland.
Review 80:Meh breakfast, pet rooms are the "underground" units, but it wasn't bad… just dark.
Review 81:Comfortable clean room, cozy bed, excellent location. Glad they didn't "febreeze" the heck out of the room.
Review 82:Too few tables in the breakfast area. Pool water too cold for small children. I was there in July and the outside temp was about 85.
Review 83:Cleanliness of room particularly bathroom. Clean even in the corner baseboards. Beds and pillows comfortable. Able to have a non-smoking non pet room.
Review 84:Breakfast was gross. Nothing but sugar and carbs. Skip it.
Review 85:Room was comfortable. Everything was clean. I don't know if I'd want to stay there for an extended amount of time. But I was there overnight. It suited my purpose.
Review 86:Nice spacious room with two chairs, desk and small table, good lighting, everything in order, and working. Possible to walk to Shakespeare Festival in 25 minutes. Small outdoor pool was welcome on very hot day.
Review 87:The decorative pillow on the bed is hard as a rock.
Review 88:Excellent location across from SOU and a mile from the Shakespeare Festival. Did not eat breakfast at the hotel because they are a block away from Morning Glory, an excellent breakfast/brunch location. Keurig machine, cable TV, large minifridge, and microwave in each room. Cheap rates. Wonderful deal!
Review 89:Nothing bad to say! Enjoyed the hotel very much.
Review 90:We stayed on the upper floor, looking back toward the mountains. Very quiet. Clean. Bed was very comfortable. Really close to the Shakespeare Fest. We walked in (about a mile) one day, and drove another day... walk is level, no hills. Good value.
Review 91:Our room was very near the street and we could hear traffic...and the crossing announcer whenever someone crossed the street. Kept my husband up.
Review 92:The beds are great. The comforters are great. That's the most important. On our last trip we were in a better location. Next time I will ask for the area we want.
Review 93:We had a room with two beds; one not so comfy, the next one not as soft and lumpy as the first. Never got to just right. Some new mattresses would be good! We would though stay here again. Might do a bed test before landing in a room! My mom had a separate room and had no complaints.
Review 94:Nice, quiet (rooms in back), comfortable hotel with pool and breakfast. Front desk and breakfast staff were very accommodating. Good restaurants close by.
Review 95:No laundry, but hey it was good value
Review 96:Loved having a room on the end of the stair way and being able to sit outside our room. Watched a deer in the car park.
Review 97:The beds were overly soft and "bouncy" (any movement felt exaggerated), the pillows were extremely uncomfortable (just foam blobs in a pillow casing), and the A/C was horribly loud and would not cool the room to a comfortable temperature (the room was either freezing cold or stuffy hot).
Review 98:The room was clean and the fellow at the front desk was kind and friendly. The Wifi worked very well.
Review 99:Rooms need new carpet. Didn't want to walk on it barefoot or let the kids play on the floor. Complimentary breakfast needs to available until 10:30 at least
Review 100:Bed was comfortable.
Review 101:Cereal at breakfast was sugary. Please add healthy options like cereal without sugar.
Review 102:Wonderful responsive staff, comfy rooms, nice pool, good breakfast.
Review 103:Breakfast was typical- white breads, sugary cereals, but they did offer two kinds of fruit and hard boiled eggs. Housekeeping didn't replace empty kleenex, but that's definitely a minor thing! :)
Review 104:Staff was very friendly, gave us a quieter room per our request. Room was clean, couldn't really hear the other guests in the hotel. Heavy curtains helped to keep out the light at night for better sleep. Price was good for the area, though we did stay during the week.
Review 105:The first room I had, the AC was broken. The second room was not much better. Single King room was super small. And the maintenance man who lived in one of the front units started yelling at my two friends and calling them "drunks" because they were drinking a beer and we were passing his roomband talki g at a normal level. He became very agressive and verbally assaulted them further.
Review 106:Nothing stood out
Review 107:Pictures are deceiving. The property is very old and dated, the only thing new is the decorative pillows on the bed. The pool is connected to the Mexican restaurant next door and is also old. On a positive note, the room is clean.
Review 108:The room was clean
Review 109:Very friendly, helpful staff. Very very clean. Breakfast had the basics but more then most places. No complains at all.
Review 110:I checked the reviews 3 stars and was in my price range. When we checked in super friendly helpful staff greeted us and maid service was great as well. Everything was great the 2 nights we stayed in Ashland OR. My daughter and her husband stayed at another hotel in Ashland but paid for 1 night what we paid for 2. When they picked us up at Flagship Inn and checked out our room they were kicking themselves and wished they had booked at the Flagship Inn as well. Next visit we well book again at the Flagship Inn. Thank you to all your staff!!
Review 111:Our check-in was odd due to the combative, arrogant, defensive, immature young man behind the counter -- seemed like we were interrupting his online gaming or something. The bed was angled down near the headboard, so we turned our bedding around so that our pillows were at the foot of the bed. The bed was otherwise comfortable, especially since we brought a tempurpedic mattress topper with us.
Review 112:Our upstairs room was quiet with thick walls, it seemed, especially since there were children next door and we didn't hear them. The check-out staff person was friendly and professional, unlike the moody check-in staff person, and the housekeepers were friendly, helpful and accommodating to our needs. The location was awesome -- next door to the best breakfast in town (Morning Glory) and a delicious fair trade coffee shop. The price was right for a four-night stay, and we will try staying there again the next time we go to Ashland.
Review 113:Lower price point also attracts some budget travelers. Ouch, sorry if that sounded judgmental and elitist, in reality I don't mind mixing it up with a wide range of folks, but you know what I mean.
Review 114:The value received for the price paid exceeded my expectations.
Review 115:Sounded like elephants stayed in the room above me! The breakfast could be better, but it sure is handy!
Review 116:The glorious bed and the ocean of pillows, ....awesome! In room coffee and free breakfast on sight!
Review 117:As usual for a hotel, the pillows are a bit flat. I prefer a thick, firm pillow.
Review 118:The location right by SOU makes it great for visiting our student. The price is right and the rooms are comfortable.
Review 119:Toilet was not secure on foundation. No locks on the windows. Men in the parking lot drinking beer and smoking. Showerhead was clogged. Temperature adjustment on the shower was backwards so one of us took a cold shower. Sheets on bed were not fitted and bunched up during the night.
Review 120:The price and location. Lots of pillows. The management was very understanding and did not hesitate to credit prepaid bill.
Review 121:The white lights give the rooms quite a cold feel. Would be great if bulbs were replaced by warmer lights.
Review 122:The rooms are very well equipped with EVERYTHING a typical hotel has to offer: coffee maker, microwave, fridge, iron, dryer. All for a very good price.
Review 123:Pool was not heated and very dirty. The AC was inconsistent in sound, Hi-low on its own. The bed was hard on either side so I slept in the middle.
Review 124:Very clean, and very quiet except the AC which was not a constant fan but rose and fell in sound on its own. Staff, especially the front office,"Josh" was fabulous!
Review 125:The bed was not comfortable. Parking stalls not very big. Cars were too close to each other. They said no pets so not sure why they asked if we had a pet.
Review 126:Loved the microwave and fridge in the room. Great that you can just cross the street to the college. Lots of pillows. Plenty of towels without having to call for them.
Review 127:None.
Review 128:Again, staff was amazing - especially Joshua at the front desk. Super friendly and very helpful. The room is clean, spacious and has all the amenities. Very close to downtown and good coffee shops.
Review 129:Its always dicey to try and pick an economical place to stay without sacrificing quality, but after reading many reviews we decided to try the Flagship Inn. We were well rewarded for our choice! Location was excellent for it was just a short drive to downtown Ashland. Originally had booked a single Queen room online to share with teenage daughter to save on cost, but when we arrive they had "upgraded" us to a two queen bed.at no extra cost! Not only did we get an extra Queen bed but our room was on the end so it had two wonderful windows and we were on the backside of the Inn away from the main street noise and next to a residential area. Room was great, linens extra crisp and white, comfy beds. Helpful staff and the breakfast was fine - much like you would find at any motel. Excellent quality for the cost. Plan to stay at the Flagship Inn for future trips to Ashland.
Review 130:"Continental" complimentary breakfast without cooked items is boring.
Review 131:Proximity to highway. Nice grocery store and Chinese takeout close by. No problem fitting two bikes into spacious room. Toilet and bath separate from double sink area is a nice feature.
