Reviews for Hydrangea Inn

Review 1:Friendly welcome from Renee. Very helpful giving us information about things to see and do.. Breakfast was wonderful and the accommodation was like a home from home.

Review 2:A gorgeous house with a really lovely owner. This inn is a fantastic place to stop over on a west coast road trip. We only wished we could have stayed longer.

Review 3:The bungalow is a studio apartment in what seems to be a garage that has been converted into a living space. It was comfortable, except that the love seat in the living room area was a little too small to truly get comfortable for the two of us. That space in particular felt a little small and cluttered. The wi-fi was a little spotty in certain areas of the bungalow. Overall, we liked the bungalow itself, but felt like it wasn't the best value for the money, but it was one of the best options we could find in Eureka.

Review 4:We really enjoyed staying in the bungalow at the Hydrangea Inn. The host, Renée was very sweet and welcomed us with nice conversation and maps and information about the area. The bungalow had a kitchen with all the supplies we needed to make tea, coffee, snacks, and dinner. The backyard of the main house is gorgeous and Renée explained that we could use the stone fireplace in the evening, which we did and really enjoyed.

Review 5:False marketing. I believe most of the positive reviews are for the bungalow not the two bedroom "apartment". A two bedroom apartment was nothing more than the top story of someone's house (not enclosed), and with an outdated bathroom. The bed in one room couldn't have been more than a full, and hardly comfortable for two adults. The room had no ventilation either. Breakfast was not vegetarian friendly, which is unusual for California, we didn't think we had to specifically ask for this. The WiFi wasn't great either. Not a great location and a little overpriced for what it is.

Review 6:The place was clean and the host was nice.

Review 7:Renee is very friendly and hospitable and her breakfasts are wonderful. We had both meat eaters and vegetarians in our family and she made sure to provide options for all. The house has a lot of charm and character but is also well equipped and comfortable

Review 8:Nothing. It was all first-class.

Review 9:The accommodation was furnished with a great eye for detail. It was comfortable, spacious and clean. Renee was a charming host and the breakfasts were superb. We stayed for just two nights but would love to come again and have a longer break at this lovely home.

Review 10:Only one bathroom in two bedroom apartment , no full room heating. We were 4 adults and 3 children. We were charged for 3 extra persons even though we used existing beds which violated their stated policy.

Review 11:Hot breakfast delivered to you

Review 12:Eureka itself is a little depressing breakfast was delicious but could have been a little more

Review 13:cute house and garden, nice touches with interesting antiques huge, comfy Kingsize bed lovely host who welcomed us with a home-baked cookie and delivered home-cooked breakfast to our doorstep, even accommodating a vegan request

Review 14:Is a little bit hard to find the house at night.

Review 15:Quiet place . Near to the town, just go down by the F St there have some nice place for Seafood. The host is very friendly.

Review 16:-Innkeeper is friendly and personal -The bungalow was clean and orderly -BREAKFAST DELIVERED TO YOU! -Absolutely cozy -The kitchen is stocked with utensils so you can cook as much as you want -Free cookie!

Review 17:TV was too small and the couch was a beautiful shaker style but was pretty uncomfortable.

Review 18:Very large accommodations, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, Renee was very friendly and accommodating

Review 19:It was a little far from town - but the walk was nice and needed afterhaving the ice cream from one of the shops along the boardwalk.

Review 20:I normally do not like staying at B&Bs for many reasons, but Istayed here and was surprised over and over again at the friendly andwelcoming experience Renée provided. She loves what she does and it comes through in everything. From the decoration, to the amenities in the kitchen, living room and bathrooms. She is also an amazing cook so don't miss the breakfasts she prepares. We almost did and we would have regretted it. She also said she can accommodate a Tesla; so for all of these reasons we will be visiting her again if we come back to Eureka.

Review 21:Stayed in the bungalow very homey and comfortable. Hostess was very knowledgeable about the area. She pointed out must see places that were very interesting and we would have missed. Hot breakfast brought to our door each morning. We will definitely stay there again

Review 39:We felt like dear guests, not just clients! When we were told about "breakfast basket", we thought it would be some bread, butter and yogurt, but it was excellent freshly made from an oven very tasty omelet. Excellent breakfast!

Review 40:Breakfast was lacking. Nothing to write home about. Owner not flexible enough. Very disappointing..

Review 41:Privacy of the bungalow, which us separate from the main house..

Review 42:It takes a bit of time for the cottage to heat up. I was there in February. Not too bad, though.
