Reviews for Red Lion Hotel Eureka
Review 1:Staffs were a bit uptight and could be more friendlier after all it was a holiday seasons (Dec 28th) when we stayed there! The facility is old and needs updating! Beds were uncomfortable!
Review 2:Easy to find location!
Review 3:Not bad, but disappointing...the spa is way too small...only holds 3 people according to the sign. But they would have to be VERY SMALL people if you ask me!
Review 4:Everything! Facilities, staff, et al were excellent!
Review 5:I called ahead to ask for a room not far from the lobby because my mother uses a walker. When we got there, they had given us a spacious ADA room with extra safety features in the bathroom and only one short hallway from the front desk. Included breakfast was a full buffet with 5 hot items, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, juice bagels, etc.
Review 6:The card situation. The rules for thr prepaid cards and the hassle of getting in my own reserved room was stressful. If dogs r welcome the whole hair and pet smell policy is ridiculous and should not b an issue if they r PET friendly rooms...
Review 7:Everything was great. Loved the pool warmth the best breakfasts ever and there was nothing u needed that they couldnt do the room service was amazing too.
Review 8:The waitress took our plate, fork, and knife away although we are still hungry. I don't whether this is because we didn't pay the tip when we just came in. However, we paid the tip when we left the breakfast place.
Review 9:The hotel is old but very clean and very comfortable. Very good place to stay.
Review 10:The staff here is always exceptionally pleasant to me and my daughters. After having booked multiple times over the last two months, I feel as if they expect me, and their hospitality is appreciated dearly. They probably don't know that I stay here so often because I've been unable to find permanent housing after our house was sold months ago. I stay here when I can afford to, and the kids and I enjoy every minute. Comfortable beds, cuddly pillows, showers to die for, a desk where my 13yr old artist is parked nearly the entire visit, and a balcony with a view to watch the sunrise. But it's kindness of the staff that sets it apart from the rest. We are grateful to be here :)
Review 11:The bed in the room I felt like I was falling in a hole in the middle of the bed not comfortable at all
Review 12:I Like that I can bring my animals in and they are accepted like part of the family
Review 13:Bed not comfortable sheets moved the minute I got in and all the hallways and stairs stank really badly. Adjoining walls too thin and very noisy
Review 14:Staff friendly. Lovely toiletries in bathroom
Review 15:Small fitness centre. Location wasn't as close to town as we would have liked, we were advised a 30 min - 1 hour walk away. Breakfast was mediocre.
Review 16:Clean, very comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff, good room.
Review 17:No side table next to the lounge chair. The shower needs a liner so the cloth shower curtain didn't get wet.
Review 18:Very comfortable bed and spacious room.
Review 19:Bathroom floor not cleaned well Huge turnout (football team) let to running out of seating and food at breakfast
Review 20:Staff was professional and friendly
Review 21:Hot tub broken.they did not turn pool lights on. Beds were awful. And breakfast was expensive $11. Which was not included.
Review 22:They let my dog stay but they charged a fee:(
Review 23:There is a restaurant in the hotel for take-out but no room service was available.
Review 24:The hotel was very close to dog show event, staff is very friendly and accomodating with requests. Security guard on the premises at night so it was safe to walk the dogs. Will be back to stay next year again.
Review 25:Not really...the location is a little difficult to navigate. Maybe Red Lion could put a map showing the best way to get there on the website. I had to go around several blocks before I figured out how to approach the parking lot.
Review 26:The ambient air was clean and no scents of perfumes...wonderful for me since I have asthma. Everything was in good shape!
Review 27:As we pulled up, we were approached by a guy wanting money for 'food', and our view out of our window-- it was a trailer park!
Review 28:The young woman who checked us in. Sweet and helpful.
Review 29:The staff was super friendly, our room was very clean, and quite comfortable. I actually slept through the night (a rarity for me)! The only complaint I have is with room service. The lady who brought our food made a point of stating how busy they were and seemed a little irritated. She wasn't TOO unfriendly, though. Eureka, at first glance, seems a little rundown (downtown at least) but there are so many quaint coffee/tea shops and restaurants. I would definitely visit again and I would for sure stay at The Red Lion
Review 30:Upon check in one's credit card was charged for the room plus anadditional charge for incidentals. This additional charge was taken offthe credit card at check out if one didn't use it for incidentals.Never ran into anything like this before and didn't much care forit. To set the air conditioner or access a wall plug one had to move aheavy chair. Poor layout.
Review 31:There is an in-house dining spot and it was perfectly acceptable.
Review 32:Traveling from WA to San Francisco. This was a very nice hotel, nice staff, quiet and clean rooms and a very comfortable bed... Overall a good place to stay for an overnight rest.
Review 33:Not bad, really. But breakfast was exactly what most hotels in this category are serving for free. At this hotel we were charged $12/each for same.
Review 34:Walking around Eureka
Review 35:I paid extra for the "free" breakfast. I arrived at 8:00 and all the food was cold and inedible. Never again.
Review 36:The room was comfortable and quiet, and dinner in the restaurant was convenient and good.
Review 37:the kitchen wasn't ready to open at six a.m. Not everything was out. the chef came out with the peppers and onions after I had started eating. I saw no milk out,no condiments. I didn't like that the breakfast didn't come with the room.
Review 38:the rooms were clean the staff was spot on.
Review 39:The breakfast cost 11 dollars and after spending 115 a night on a outdated room you would think you would get some kind of breakfast for free.
Review 40:The staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 41:The carpet appeared to have some old stains that can still be seen. If you're goin to charge a pet fee, some amenities for your pet would be nice; such as a blanket, bowls, placement, treat. Also some literature on where you can walk your dog and other pet friendly establishments.
Review 42:They accept pets for a fee. Room was comfortable and staff was pleasant.
Review 43:Breakfast menu is awful
Review 44:The staff was amiable and professional, very attentive and made our stay better than that of the Eureka Inn, even though the E.I. is a fabulous hotel, we are definitely coming back to the Red Lion. Thank you!
Review 45:Our room was right above the pool so it was pretty loud and on our second day a bus full of college football guys showed up and made it double loud. I realize that is not the red lions fault. Just watch out for football season.
Review 46:The bed was amazing.
Review 47:Had stayed in a red lion hotel in Seattle and thought this one would be of the same standard. Was a little disappointed by the location and interior of the hotel. Arrived late and had a meal in the bar/bistro, wouldn't recommend eating there.
Review 48:Staff friendly and helpful
Review 49:Great room at a good price. Surprised by the overall quality of the hotel. Staff was very accommodating. The room overall way better than one would expect for the price. Having a restaurant on premises makes a big difference. Arrived late almost at closing time but felt welcome in the place.
Review 50:We were given a room with a broken A/C unit. Maintenance could not repair so they moved us to a room right by the housekeeping supply and the ice machine/soda machine which was right out in the hall near our room. Gentleman manager from Oregon (can't remember his name) was right there during our move. If I were a manager and someone had to relocate I would not have given them one of the worst rooms in the hotel, I would give them an upgrade for the inconvenience.
Review 51:The front desk staff was very nice. (Kayla) Beds were comfortable.
Review 52:The room was great. Big, comfy, clean. The staff was helpful at all times. They gave us great recommendations for dinner the three nights we were there. When we asked for extra towels and shampoo, they were at my door immediately. I needed a form for my son's scholarship faxed and it was done with a confirmation in my hand in less that 2 minutes. This hotel had the softest towels I have seen and felt at a hotel in a very long time. We recently stayed a very, very nice place in Cabo and the towels were like sandpaper. We are currently staying at the Atlantis in Reno, NV and the towels fall short of being close to soft. The room at the Atlantis, although very nice, is dirty when you look closely. Our room at the Red Lion was clean and fully equipped.Easy check-in, easy check-out. Our son will be in school for the next four years so we will definitely be coming back.
Review 53:Stood around for sometime waiting for an employee to finish what looked to be a personal conversation with another employee despite his seeing us waiting. Not a good way to treat customers.
Review 54:Our floor smelled of marijuana when we got there even though it's anot smoking hotel. The area around the hotel is very ghetto with tweakerzombies walking around day and night asking you for money or cigarettesor a lighter etc... however, all of Eureka is this way so if you have tostay in Eureka I'd recommend this place
Review 55:Rooms were clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable i'vestayed in. I even wrote down the name of the pillows and the mattress.Bathrooms were very nice and new. Walking distance to several goodplaces to eat
Review 56:Maid service started a bit too early
Review 57:It was pet friendly, rooms were clean, staff was great and dinner was very good, lots of parking for our truck and trailer
Review 58:The view of the JUNKYARD from the window was spectacular. $109.00 a night, EXCEPTIONLY OVER PRICED. Had planned to spend a couple of days in the area sightseeing. Changed our minds and went on to Oregon instead.
Review 59:Very little, the room was clean but poorly lighted.
Review 60:Restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Wilted lettuce salad, overcooked, hockey-puck steaks didn't impress at all.
Review 61:This is a pet friendly hotel. Staff is friendly and the accommodations are clean and comfortable.
Review 62:There isnt a sauna and the hot tub jets haven't worked in a century.

Review 84:not a good in-house restaurant
Review 85:convenience and price
Review 86:Great price, people are nice and the rooms are clean. Breakfast was included in the room and that was great too.
Review 87:Beds
Review 88:Not much, the manager did do anything for us
Review 89:The local soaps and shampoos were a nice touch. I'm still using the face soap! It's great for my skin.
Review 90:Comfortable, clean, friendly staff. Good value
Review 91:none
Review 92:nice clean room
Review 93:musty smell, charged almost 60 dollars for two brief phone calls to Oregon home.
Review 94:location and staff
Review 95:Totally non-smoking hotel.
Review 96:Excellent proximity to Old Town. Great walking opportunities.
Review 97:Listened to ice machine all night
Review 98:Everything but the ice machine
Review 99:Expensive breakfast - wifi didn't work - bar food was expensive - some items on menu not available to order...
Review 100:Well located - easy to get to...
Review 101:The bed was very comfortable, and it was great that there was a bar restaurant within the hotel.
Review 102:Booking.com says breakfast is included - but they wanted to charge me $11/person.
Review 103:The staff was so helpful.
Review 104:Staff is very nice. Convenient to shops and the college
Review 105:Large handicapped room which allowed me to move about with ease.

Review 116:No complaints.
Review 117:key card quit twice in the 16 hrs we were there...(old program?)
Review 118:what we checked above - and bed was comfy.
Review 119:The hotel has a problem with it's elevator. It was broken down two days during my four day stay.
Review 120:Poor value
Review 121:Only stayed 1 night
Review 122:Breakfast very average. Lack of direction / signs, to rooms down by the gym. Pool was closed.
Review 123:Clean. Comfortable. Decent hotel
