Reviews for Canyons Lodge- A Canyons Collection Property
Review 1:Breakfast could have had a few more options but ok overall. Need more room for folks to eat breakfast when weather rainy.
Review 2:Everyone was very helpful! Loved being able to have a cocktail by the fire pit after a very long drive the day we arrived. Kevin was a great help getting us settled and was even able to connect us with the other half of our party as he had already met them and knew what room they were in!
Review 3:Not particularly bad, but the toilet stopped up in the night. We were not comfortable using it in that state.
Review 4:Staff was tops. Reception clerk went a second mile in helping us to our room. The free breakfast was a feast!
Review 5:Not one bad thing to say.
Review 6:Everything. Staff was great. Room was great. Property was beautiful. The food at the restaurant and the views were breathtaking. Our room had two queen beds and was quite large. We were on the lodge side.
Review 7:Would have liked to do a charge back to the room from the restaurant but wasn't able too!
Review 8:Great rooms, comfortable beds and very attentive staff, loved this place, highly recommend it to others
Review 9:The room we had was VERY small for 2 people. It was maybe 6 feet larger from side to side and 2 feet in length than the queen bed in it. For one person it would have been okay. Only good friends or a loving couple could tolerate it. $112 per night was TOO much for the oversized closet. (I understand the larger rooms are nice.)
Review 10:The staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast had a nice variety and was delicious.
Review 11:Our room was not very big and the AC was close to the bed and had to be switched off during the night, which in very hot periods could be an issue.
Review 12:Great staff, very friendly and available. Super breakfast and nice location, close to all restaurants. Definitely recommended. The pool is small but comfortable. Very handy to be able to park the car in front of the door.
Review 13:Pics online are misleading and right on the noisy highway. Rooms inlodge are poorly insulated and noise from the restaurant is heard untilpast midnight beginning at 6am.
Review 14:Size of accomadation
Review 15:The hotel is well situated the lodges are across the road but was surprised how small they were and disappointed. We stayed just the one night as planned if you are staying longer would have preferred a larger room.
Review 16:Power went out twice while using microwave. Air conditioner was very noisy.
Review 17:Small but nicely decorated and very clean room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast included.
Review 18:The pool was a bit small and there is limited space for seating/laying around.
Review 19:The lodge is located on main street, but is quiet and has nice surroundings. We appreciated the comfortable room & bathroom, and also the small garden outside was great for guest to rest /have a drink outside the room. The breakfast was very good (large choice of food).
Review 20:First class hotel and restaurant!! The staff is excellent, the rooms are decorated with exquisite taste and the restaurant is a definite plus!! Kanab is very well located to visit all the parks (Zion, Bryce, North Rim, Antilope, etc).
Review 21:I had booked a 2-night stay but my reservation got screwed up and I ended up staying in a King room the first night (which they charged me extra for) and then I had to move to another room for the second night. King room was nice, but maid missed picking up dirty wash cloth from previous guest, which I found out when I closed the shower curtain and it fell off the rod and hit me in the face. That was pleasant. The second room was OK, however maid failed to properly stock bathroom. There was only about 1/3 roll of toilet tissue and no backup roll. Q-tip box had 2 Q-tips in it. Parking is sparse, and spread all over the place. There is also road construction going on which makes it difficult. There are 2 properties, one across the street from the other. If you stay in the "cabin" like property, there is no check-in. You have to walk across the street to the "boutique" hotel. You also have to walk across the street for the complimentary breakfast. Food was not that great -- they used those pre-fab frozen eggs that so many fast food places use rather than real eggs. The "boutique" restaurant might be great in a big city, but in a small town like Kanab, it's out of place. Food is too trendy and expensive. There are so many better places to eat in Kanab that have great food, and reasonable prices. Also, Utah has a weird liquor law that says if you want to buy a drink, you have to buy some food with it. I ordered mozzarella toast and I got 4 pieces of toasted focaccia bread which was toasted and hot, with little balls of mozzarella cheese and cherry tomatoes on top, which were served cold. Did not care for it at all. I ended up spending around $20 for a beer and an appetizer I didn't even finish.
Review 22:Staff was very pleasant and helpful under the circumstances.
Review 23:Just the room was a bit small but it doesn't matter.. i guess the rooms for 4 people are bigger.
Review 24:It was a pleasure to stay here and really nice place to stay longer for. We have been here for 3 nights and enjoyed it. It's very clean and the room was very nice just a bit small. Outside we found some lounges etc. And some bikes for free as well. The breakfast was big and had a big variety.
Review 25:Window mount AC was loud and hard to control air flow direction. Room lighting was not the best. note, this was one of the older rooms across from main lodge.
Review 26:Two types of room. Room with one bed is in older building and room is super small, but newly renovated. Rooms with two beds have much more space and are more modern.
Review 27:Newly renovated and clean.
Review 28:Our room and our bathroom was very small but this is a question of price I assume, better rooms were available
Review 29:- The staff is really friendly, professional and very responsive - Hotel equipment available in addition of the rooms is very nice for a good rest time after a long ride day (small swimming pool, outside tables, sofas, hammock) - Hot breakfast is really good
Review 30:Breakfast was free, only problem was you couldn't get any! Couldn't get extra towels or even a call back. Front desk didn't return our call. Staff at breakfast was completely lost.
Review 31:Very cute property.
Review 32:I wouldn't say I "didn't like" it but the room as small. We had a hard time having our luggage open and walking around. I think they had bigger rooms but I was looking for the least expensive one.
Review 33:It was a cute lodge. I liked the vibe of the place. They allowed pets (we did not bring ours). They provided bikes free of charge to ride around. We were there on a Sat night going to visit Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and that eventing they had a couple people playing acoustic music and singing and provided snacks and sodas. It just had a welcome feel to it. They also hav a welcome card addressed to us on the pillow. Cute touch.
Review 34:the eggs were the worst we ever had - sorry - nice set up but I think they used water to fluff them up, but it was waaaay too much - there was no hot water late at night - we arrived late and were walking around and downstairs banged on the ceiling so apparently the floors are thin... we would stay there again, but would get our own breakfast
Review 35:Kanab is quaint - hotel suited our needs - room was clean and people were friendly and helpful
Review 36:breakfast area used all disposable dishes and cutlery -not good for an environmentally sensitive establishment
Review 37:nice, attractive, comfortable hotel, easy to find
Review 38:Our Lodge room was not large and overdressed like many modern hotels but it was clean, comfortable, and in line with the atmosphere of the beautiful and historic town of Kanab. Saturday evening entertainment, bikes available for an early morning ride, and pleasant staff added to the enjoyment. Our stay gave us the feeling of being part of something unique... an experience worth remembering.
Review 39:Breakfast room is to small and set up of food and coffee etc. is cramped and chaotic.
Review 40:Room was large and comfortable. Loved the individual touches in the gardens and the pool.
Review 41:Plastic plates and cups at the breakfast. Our room (no.1) was not really nice as it was facing the road. Felt that I payed too much for what I got.
Review 42:Close proximity to Zion National Park.
Review 43:the people next door had kids who were very noisy early in the morning and you could hear them, but not the fault of the facility
Review 44:it was clean, comfortable and convenient
Review 45:The highway noise was loud. And the room was opened right on the city sidewalk. Felt exposed and wish it had more security
Review 46:Location was convenient and it was clean and friendly
Review 47:Hotel is located on the edge of town so there is road noise
Review 48:It was a convenient hub location for all the National parks in the area. About an hour in each direction for Zion,Bryce, Lake Powell and Grand canyon
Review 49:We loved the location, the room, the super-nice staff, their recommendations and their efforts to make our stay unforgettable, the campfire at night, the bikes, everything!!
Review 50:There was only one chair, a desk chair and it was coming apart. The room was very dark and small. The door to the unit had light shining through, not adequately sealed.
Review 51:The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good.
Review 52:Loved the staff and the continental breakfast which was more like mini buffett. Also the bikes available to ride and the bed was so comfy. This is the second property of theirs we have stayed at and cant wait to try another!
Review 53:The room faces the highway so it is noisy. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen that you have to manoeuvre between tub and toilet to close the door. The nightly cost was too high for the value of the room.
Review 54:We liked the decor and the effort put into it but they really should renovate the bathroom and make that area better.
Review 55:Very nice place, seemed new or just renovated. Great to be able to sit outside in the afternoon sun in the comfortable outdoor furniture. Cosy fire place at night. Great breakfast and the best of all - super personnel.
Review 56:Bathroom was tiny, but great shower. You could hear the people upstairs thumping about.
Review 57:Location was good. Quiet enough and great place if looking at Zion National Park.
Review 58:The rooms at the lodge were very small, but clean and quaint.
Review 59:Quaint motel in a good central location between all the beautiful parks. The staff was great, breakfast was great and there were plenty of nice outside seating areas.
Review 60:Most expensive stay on our trip, but the tiniest room we've ever stayed in, barely 2 people can move around at the same time. Quite old and NEEDS updating
Review 61:could hear the trucks coming by on the road - not bad but should be noted.
Review 62:Great atmosphere - fun, relaxing, and the staff was very attentive to my needs and detail.
Review 63:Breakfast was very limited, but there is an excellent deli in the town that facilitated our needs for coffee, cookies and great bagels that we took away for lunch in Zion National Park.
Review 64:After a rocky start the staff were very helpful and particularly got us a booking at short notice at a really good restaurant.
Review 65:Breakfast in adjacent Victoria hotel. Plastic everything including the omelettes. Nice looking building but breakfast area not friendly could not wait to leave. Need to review the breakfast offering which seemed designed to benefit the hotel and its staff, not the customer.
Review 66:Lady on reception was friendly and really helpful making us feel really welcome. Room was well equipped, comfortable beds. Met expectations - good, relaxing.
Review 67:The tiniest room ever ... had to operate a one way system around the bed and to the bathroom. Lucky we only had small bags, don't know how you'll cope if you have suitcases. AC too close to bed. Also a tiny bathroom, shower curtain creates a dark cubicle, no hooks for clothes. No coffee making facilities in room Have to go to neighbouring hotel for breakfast.
Review 68:Travis could not be more friendly or helpful. Lovely hotel, neat pool and canopied lawn area. Laundry etc. Nicely styled. Free use of bicycles. Fantastic location for Zion, north rim Bryce etc. Loved this place.
Review 69:Room was a touch small
Review 70:Price for the close proximity to great National Parks and the Grand Canyon. A great breakfast at neighboring motel. Entertainment - a folk duo performed out in front of the motel one evening..
Review 71:I stayed one night here and It was excellent. This property is on the main road of Kanab which itself is a beautiful town. The room was very clean, WI-FI was very good and bathroom facilities were top notch. I highly recommend this property.
Review 72:Didn't realize "cozy queen" meant the bed would take up the entire room, and the TV would be miniscule. But the room was clean and quiet, rustic and fun!
Review 73:The staff was wonderful, and the grounds were pleasant and clean. There was a complimentary glass of wine the evening we arrived.
Review 74:We booked three rooms. Two out of three were great. The other was good except for right up on the street and beds softer than we prefer. Surprisingly low road noise though.
Review 75:This was a nice quaint hotel with nice accomodations and friendly staff.
Review 76:Expensive. Room a wee bit small. We had a lot of luggage and were upstairs, which was a bit of a nuisance. Breakfast was very standard continental fare. Eggs were dreadful - must have been powdered. For price of rooms expected better.
Review 77:Very clean and comfortable. Nice decor and of good quality. No problem with noise in our upstairs room.
Review 78:Single Queen rooms are TINY and this really should be made clear at booking. We couldn't get our luggage and ourselves into the space and this would be unacceptable for more than one night. Breakfast at adjoining inn was only moderate.
Review 79:High quality room furnishing. Very nice outside pool and logging amenities including a hammock.
Review 80:We only stayed one night but the King deluxe was ready at 3:00. Good sized room with a very comfortable bed. Had a coffee machine, microwave and mini frig. Our stay was nice; could not hear neighbors. Breakfast was very good compared to other free breakfasts we've had. Nice fire pit for a complementary glass of wine and conversation with other guests from Germany, UK and East coast.
Review 81:Room very small especially the bath room. Manager was not available during most of our stay.
Review 82:Very clean with nice furnishings. Manager was initially very friendly and helpful.
Review 83:The response from the owner when we had to purchase our own breakfast as the breakfast chef failed to turn up. He was only concerned about correcting me about my account of the morning and was not the slightest bit interested that we had purchased a breakfast which was meant to have been included in the price of the room. In fact the breakfast suddenly became complimentary!!. A very poor attitude- the word sorry or an apology did not cross his lips. Such a shame to treat your guests in this way.
Review 84:Proximity to Town - the recommendation of Rocking V restaurant for evening meal. The exterior ambiance of Canyons Lodge.
Review 85:The room was small.
Review 86:The location and price. It was central between, Lake Powell, Zion National Park, Bryce National Park and the north rim of the Grand Canyon. The price was reasonable. Breakfast provided at a motel across the street was excellent. Had a great musical show on the lawn one evening.
Review 87:Nothing we didn't like.
Review 88:The warm welcome. Small rustic lodge centrally located in Kanab, good variety of eating places a short walk away. Loved Rocky Vs, had two great dinners there. We were able to drive a short distance out of town and as it went dark watch the stars come out.
Review 89:road noise, wind with sand during storm. suggest installing wind break alongside parking lot facing west.
Review 90:location, cleanliness, hospitality, full breakfast.
Review 91:Extremely limited choice and poor quality of breakfast. Nothing remotely fresh. Would expect a lot better for the money.
Review 92:Huge room Swimming pool Fast wi-fi
Review 93:Very small room, and in front of the smoking area, thus enjoyed delight of cigar smoke through the night
Review 94:Good breakfast, excellent location on way to Zion and Death valley
Review 95:Beds were far too soft, which was one reason we didn't sleep gold. The other was the noise from above, seems the ceiling amplifies Evers step the people above us made.
Review 96:Nicely decorated, personal touch to the rooms, very friendly and helpful staff
Review 97:The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. It worked perfectly for a one night stop between Zion and the Grand Canyon but we definitely would have stayed another night. They had an awesome fire with two singers and drinks on Saturday night. We loved the decor. We felt very comfortable here and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area!
Review 98:Brown sheets sorry just prefer white!! Lol
Review 99:Travis was an amazing Host, nothing was to much trouble. Room was clean and well presented, the grounds were impressively well maintained. Close to everything in terms of Zion park bit further was Bryce caynon but worth the drive, we stayed four days and enjoyed every minute!
Review 100:We booked two rooms and the cheaper one was really tiny . They call it cosy! Next to a noisy road although it was quiet at night
Review 101:Very pretty property. A lot has been done to make the stay comfortable and a lot of thought has been put into the little details. Pleasant staff.
Review 102:Breakfast was good but coffee not to our taste - rather bitter. The breakfast room was generally rather tight for the amount of guests.
Review 103:Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice outside area with pool, sofas, easy chairs etc. Cosy rooms, too
Review 104:Some rooms are way too small for two people!!! Hardly room for the bed + desk. Add two suitcases and you have a problem! Heat makes noisy A/C necessary for comfort at night.
Review 105:nice wooden structure, great atmosphere
Review 106:The breakfast was disappointing. Not enough seating and quite some things had run out. Vacuum cleaning should be done better. Especially under the beds.
Review 107:Nice place, seating outside under the trees enjoying a drink at night.
Review 108:Can not think of a thing.
Review 109:The staff made us feel that we were guests rather than customers- starting with the welcoming glass of wine. The attention to the details and quality of the room and furnishings is first class. We are looking forward to our next visit. A small detail but I like having a real key rather than a plastic card and the bottle opener fob is a hoot. Thanks for making the last two nights of a long trip so memorable. Don and Sheryl
Review 110:Welcoming and comfortable, Canyons Inn was our home away from home. Although small, rooms were clean and amenities included a nice pool area, fire pit, continental breakfast, and bikes to hop on at leisure for a ride to downtown Kanab or through the town's interesting residential neighborhoods. The laid back style of the hotel complimented the surrounding red rock vistas and canyons. Both owner and staff were helpful and indulgent of guests, serving up wine and snacks along with friendly conversation at the fire pit.Travis, Ron, and dog Siba you guys rock! Felt like I truly got to know you and I will definitely book with you again on my next trip to Kanab - which quite frankly couldn't be soon enough. Thanks for your frienship and a great place to come back to in the future. Fabulous experience.
Review 111:Poor is not the word for value! We could not both be on our feet at the same time in this closet sized room. The A/C was blowing directly on the bed, so we had to turn it off. There was only 1 nightstand to read in bed, the bathroom was much too small and all this inconvenience for a bill over $100! Cozy Queen it was not, More like Claustrophobic Closet
Review 112:Only the Location. We needed a room in Kanab for our 2 day trip home to Tucson in July.
Review 113:Canyons Lodge was very good, but we booked our room last October and when we arrived we were only booked in for 2 nights instead of 3, they apologised and booked us into another motel of theirs for the middle night not booked, we were great full that they found us a room, but it was not good of the upheval in 1 room one night then moved to another the next night and another on the third night, but must say Ron was very helpful and disappointed for us over the mix up. But we did understand that these thing happen, but a special thanks to Ron for his help. We would recommend the motel. This was just an unfortunate mistake.
Review 114:The a/c was very loud - but worked wonderfully. The room stayed very cool and comfortable.
Review 115:Loved staying at this quaint inn. The "cozy queen" was darling, but extremely small. Especially with both our luggage and travel bags. The beds and linens were fabulous and the staff was remarkable!
Review 116:breakfast in the b&b next door was rather low quality and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery
Review 117:Location, complimentary bicycles! loved everything about our room. The gentleman that welcomed us (I think his name was Matt) was excellent - recommended fantastic restaurant for dinner and when we mentioned that we would like a snack beforehand he prepared a whole cheese platter with crackers and biscuits for us - excellent service! if in Kanab again I would definitely stay in the Canyons Lodge
Review 118:Netter Staff orginelle Halloween Dekoration
Review 119:Central location for Brice Canyon, North Rim of Grand Canyon, Zion national park.
Review 120:Nothing
Review 121:Very nice
Review 122:The room was tiny, we travelled with three suitcases and there was barely enough room for them.
Review 123:Lovely interior, clean room and helpful staff.
Review 124:Nice room and bed was great/
Review 125:Decor and staff was extremely helpful.
Review 126:They don't offer the wine and snacks in the evenings any longer. A/C nosy.
Review 127:Breakfast was nice
Review 128:Clean rooms, nice breakfast
Review 129:Breakfast was a bit frantic with lots of things running out.
Review 130:Stylish room, nice little pool. Staff were very friendly.
Review 131:None
Review 132:Staff was very accommodating and friendly.
