Reviews for Hostel Portalegre
Review 1:Maybe the bathroom, a little old...
Review 2:Joao ( if i remember the name) was a very kind person ! The hostel is a typically appartment in the downtown of Portalegre ! A good terrace.
Review 3:Don Jose was the greatest host we encountered in Portugal He took us in, showed us the town, told us where to eat (Taverna de Manuel) and overall treated us as friends. Such a great experience. Obrigado!
Review 4:Really nice hostel in the middle of the old town with a very welcoming host who took a lot of time to explain us the town and the surroundings. Thanks a lot! You can use the fully equipped kitchen. Simple but good breakfast (considering to be in Portugal :-) ) Take care: It is in the middle of an old town, very narrow streets and public parking is some meters away so you can enjoy a short walk through town :-)
Review 5:My girlfriend and I stayed at Joao’s hostel only for one night, but in few hours we were really moved by his cordiality and kindness. We booked a room only 7 hours before arrival and took the bus to Portalegre: Joao was unexpectedly waiting for us at the bus station to help us with our backpacks, and welcomed us in his hostel with a kind smile. Hostel extremely cleaned, attention for details and great breakfast with everything you can imagine, and even an old typewriter were your can write feedbacks!! We were really sorry to stay only for one night, but will surely come back

Review 10:Difficult car access
Review 11:It was not crowded, beds were ready Very central for walking
Review 12:Being a big old house, it's difficult to heat. It was a little cool, however once the heaters got going things warmed up. I understand that arranging more extensive heating is a priority for the hosts. This is only an issue during a couple of months of winter, and it wasn't too severe.
Review 13:A great location and wonderful hosts. When I was delayed and arrived late in the evening, Cristina was there to pick me up at the bus station. A welcome surprise! The kitchen access was an asset and there was always lots on hand for breakfast. Plenty of hot water and a warm, comfortable bed.
Review 14:The owner was helpful and friendly, It was central to the city. Good secure bike parking. Brilliant !
Review 15:Joao and his father were amazingly friendly and helpful and I really felt welcome. Hostel was cosy with a large sunny terrace in the inner court.
