Reviews for The Riverside Hotel

Review 1:Nothing :)

Review 2:My husband, Rick, and I stayed at the Riverside Hotel this last Summer 2015. This hotel is a people and pet friendly hotel; it really needs to be considered a "resort." We had a such a fabulous stay that we know that we would only now stay at the Riverside when traveling to Boise, ID. My husband and I were treated like "royalty" by the staff. One of the Managers, Jonathan Newman, displayed such amazing customer service skills; his customer service exceeded our expectations. And just to note, we have years of experience as business owners, as we always assure that we give excellent customer service in our business dealings. My husband has worked for Disneyl and Nordstrom's where customer service is instilled in their employees and where excellent customer service is what their are know for. Rick and I were"extremely" impressed by the high level of customer service that all the Riverside Hotel staff exhibited, especially Jonathan Newman and his staff, excellent service. So this Christmas 2015, we booked reservations at the Riverside. The entire place was decorated so lovely ... just like a Hallmark Christmas Hotel. Again, we had such a wonderful stay. The staff were so sweet, kind and friendly; they even took the time to remember our first names, especially our dog, Diezel. Here are some of the staff names that I recall:Jonathan Newman, Night ManagerCindy, Bartender - Bar 365,Maddie, WaitressJane, amazing chef (Breakfast buffet)Breana, Reservation DeskCindy & Maddie were so so so sweet. As our family Christmas eve plans fell through, we ended up having dinner at the Bar 365 with our dog. Rick and I had such a fun time having dinner and laughing & talking with the two of them. Thank -you!We just love the Riverside Hotel.... best place to stay ever!

Review 3:Hotel didn't have my Booking.com reservation, but that may not have been the hotel's fault. But they gave me a great room at a lower price.

Review 4:Beautiful location. Very nice rooms. Great staff.

Review 5:Kind of old, couch had a hole in it manager thought it was funny took 3 people hours to fix our tv

Review 6:Big place with good restaurant, pub area pretty pool all lit up at night good exercize room, cool retro vibe big room

Review 7:Good breakfast. Great service. Right on the river with bike path. I like staying here. It has a lot of grounds, an outdoor bar restaurant, pool, stream side rooms. It feels a bit like a resort. Staff are all helpful and nice.

Review 8:Construction was going on next to our room which was noisy during the day. Air conditioner was making banging noise and my daughter had to move her room.

Review 9:Wonderful staff, beautiful location. Excellent buffet breakfast. We enjoyed the pool area and the Sand Bar restaurant/music.

Review 10:Difficult to find as address on their website & Google maps says Chinden BLVD but it is on Main Street and Garden ST.

Review 11:Beautiful grounds and outdoor area. Live music poolside and at brunch. Their brunch is one of the best I've seen, top quality. The rooms are older but very clean with comfy beds and flat screen TV. It has everything you need!

Review 12:Remote didn't work when I got into my room took a while to get someone up to replace the batteries.

Review 13:Front desk was very pleasant and breakfast is outstanding

Review 14:dinner in restaurant was good value and food very good, however the service was beyond slow. once food served never returned. only 5 tables had guests so this was unacceptable took about 30min to get check

Review 15:Questionable and loud people friday night. Came smoking cigarettes all night just in front of the room. They were not guests of the hotel, just renting the kind of ballroom for a weeding party.

Review 16:Good pool. Good staff.

Review 17:Being close to the river is awesome. Also the music by the pool almost all the time was nice. They were texting me when my room was ready and I was at the airport and they sent a shuttle for me.

Review 18:This was a great place to stay after traveling by car all day with two little kids at outdoor temps above 100 degrees. The pool was great, and having someone serving drinks poolside was wonderful! the restaurant served great food for dinner, meaning we didn't have to take the kids out again. Best of all was the AMAZING breakfast (included). There were so many (non-carb) options, many made to order, and absolutely delicious.

Review 19:Would be great to offer fresh fruits and salad options and cold options at breakfast. Vegetarian or vegan options.

Review 20:Housekeeping was great!! Bartender at sands was great but the waiters by the pool were clearly overwhelmed on the weekend. Not their fault.

Review 21:Pool and hot tub have taken a beating. Hot tub was barely warm with broken jets. Huge hotel -- got lost walking from lobby to room and vice versa down long corridors that lack clear signage.

Review 22:Excellent location. Loved the pool and game areas, great restaurant and bar options, enjoyed the live music. Best breakfast buffet for a hotel around. Very friendly staff.

Review 23:Did not have an elevator...but is only 2 stories and is not a problem unless you have heavy luggage. Trick to find without GPS.

Review 24:The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. The breakfast buffet is fabulous and the Sandbar is fantastic for cocktails, meals and live entertainment with a view of the river. The location next to the river is great as it is connected to a greenbelt and trail that you can walk or rent bicycles to connect to downtown Boise while watching people rafting, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Review 25:For the last three years, we have loved eating lunch from the Sandbar. This year, it seemed like the food has changed. The only things that we ordered that we really enjoyed were the french fries and the fruit cup. Everything else was not enjoyable at all. We ordered salads, there was so much water sitting in the bottom of our plate that we filled 1/2 of one of our drink cups. The extra water made the dressing taste poor and the chicken on our salads was dry and unappetizing.

Review 26:Our family has been coming to the Riverside Inn for four years now. We love relaxing poolside and we love the breakfast. We also love to walk along the River, it's so peaceful.

Review 27:The first night we arrived we took a stroll along the Greenbelt river walk and enjoyed the lighted pool area. Beds were so comfortable I would like them in my own home. Location was great because we were there for a performance at the Morrison Ctr at the University. Free buffet breakfasts were wonderful, more than we could eat! Staff was helpful and friendly, especially our omelet maker. We even spent an afternoon in the pool and had dinner in the Sandbar after which was great food as well.

Review 28:Loved the facilities. Having access to a good quality breakfast each day was a great start. Having a very nice pool for the kids was helpful and well used. The Sandbar was a popular place for the family to eat and grab a drink.

Review 29:It was twice the price than when we stayed last spring. Soccer, music festival seem to really drive up the price. Very slow Wi Fi.

Review 30:Beds are very comfortable. The pool area is a great spot. Breakfast was delicious

Review 31:Fairly dated but not bad. Hotel is kept in good shape.

Review 32:Rooms were clean, nice little patios for the rooms facing the pool, good atmosphere. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff

Review 33:The hotel layout is a little tough to figure out.

Review 34:The pool! Poolside service with great food and live entertainment. The rooms are much larger than the cookie cutter hotels. Very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful great location on the bike path with bikes to rent to explore Boise. The breakfast was fantastic, omelettes to order and locally sourced foods.

Review 35:This is a fun place. It's a huge hotel, a little confusing to navigate around. Hotel is close to bike/running path. They have a festive atmosphere. Jazz musician playing while we ate our dinner which was quite delicious with local beer on tap. Free breakfast buffet was delicious and much better than any other hotel we've stayed at.

Review 36:I honestly can't think of anything I didn't like....which is unusual!

Review 37:Room and bed were very comfortable. Great shower. Breakfast was superior! Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Airport shuttle very nice and accommodating.

Review 38:I was hoping that the balcony room would have had a jetted tub. Also, there was a vent over the bathroom vanity that ran the entire time we were there. It really messed with our allergies.

Review 39:It was very quiet. Staying on a weekend, we were also given 2 vouchers for the breakfast buffet included, which we really enjoyed.

Review 40:we had a better room for the same price @ our last visit...I feel the room was a little pricey for the quality...loved our privious visit...great hotel!!

Review 41:The place is a little dated but well maintained.

Review 42:We were very comfortable and given a good price. The food and music at the Sandbar were great. We liked the complimentary breakfast as well.

Review 43:The lady that checked me in was rude and obnoxious for no reason and even if there was a reason, there will never be a reason to treat a customer in a rude and disrespectful manner! I travel A LOT and I have never been treated that way!!!

Review 44:The room was comfortable and the morning staff was great!

Review 45:Suggestion would be to increase the amount of lounge chairs surrounding the pool especially in the area where the old sandbar was located.

Review 46:We loved the updates and especially the live music at the Sandbar.

Review 47:Haven't found anything yet we didn't like.

Review 48:Best buffet breakfast anywhere and free with your stay! The bacon is to die for. Love the pool area, patio lounge, and live entertainment. We make a point to stay every time we travel through Boise.

Review 49:I loved it there. Wonderful accommodating and gracious staff. Great food!

Review 50:Parking lot and the price. i think you are overpriced especially during slower tourist season.

Review 51:convenience, cleanliness, pool

Review 52:The atmosphere here is awesome and so is the staff.

Review 53:The grounds with the pool are beautiful. The breakfast is great. It is like staying at a resort.

Review 54:Breakfast was wonderful. Omelette bar among other goodies. Great bacon

Review 55:The room size was small for the amount I paid. WiFi was slow.

Review 56:Breakfast was awesome. Beds were comfortable.

Review 57:We loved the location along the Boise River and River trail.

Review 58:Comfortable beds and good buffet.

Review 59:Staff was always working hard to keep grounds and facilities nice

Review 60:Half an hour lining up for breakfast.

Review 61:Nice pool, spacious room.

Review 62:My room was under the stairwell and very loud.

Review 63:Never did get the wi-fi to work on my laptop. That gets old. Go somewhere else for dinner.

Review 64:Staff were very nice.

Review 65:Long walk from lobby to rooms.

Review 66:Friendly staff throughout. Free Internet in room. Plenty of parking. Reasonable rate. Great breakfast.

Review 67:The walk along the river and watching the guys practice wake surfing.

Review 68:Unfortunately the food was subpar. I found a smushed fly in my salad the second day, needless to say I took my meals outside the hotel after that.

Review 69:need a bit more light in the rooms,

Review 70:the location and friendly helpful staff

Review 71:Everything

Review 72:nothing

Review 73:Lobby bar Staff. Really personal and friendly in a nice way.

Review 74:The pool and poolside bar was awesome!!

Review 75:Nothing

Review 76:Clean spacious rooms. Friendly staff

Review 77:The next day a female attending was very rude Unprofessional. I askedher may we another room like ours?Sure she said on entering the room was nothing like it horrible. I went back excuse me this room is nothing like our last. Oh OK um this one. Now are you sure similar shower a flat screen TV? I repeated. "Oh yes" she assured. On arrival me and my bride found a rat hole of a room a 70s. Style t.v. and standing water on carpet alas if only we went home after the first night I would have given 5 stars and raved

Review 78:First night upgraded to a amazing room on our honeymoon. The male attending was so great polite and professional. Loved it so much decided to stay another night alas...

Review 79:There were a collection of spiders in my room. When the maintenance staff came to dispatch them, they just started spraying chemical bug spray, which made my throat burn. I am allergic to these products and they didn't say a word, just started spraying. I had to hang out in the hall for a long time afterward while it dried. Bummer.

Review 80:Loved the spacious lobby (good first impression), front desk staff (another good first impression), cookies at check-in, size of my mini-suite, and Bath and Body Works toiletries.

Review 81:Ants! We were on the ground floor and they came in for about an hour in the morning and seemed to disappear. Might want to treat the patio door thresholds. Also, the whiskey selection was fairly anemic. Would be nice to have an alternate top shelf whiskey besides just makers mark. Bighorn Bourbon is an excellent alternative- less expensive and better tasting.

Review 82:Pretty lobby, good food. Nice office layout made it easy to conduct business.

Review 83:Did not like dodging goose poop on the walkway near the river behind the hotel. We booked 3 rooms under our name, and assumed they would all be together. It was inconvenient having the room with my daughter and her 11 month old on the other side of the hotel campus.

Review 84:We loved the location - right on the Boise River. The pool was nice, and the music at breakfast and outside by the Sandbar was a treat. The staff were friendly and polite. We enjoyed the full buffet breakfast, especially the made to order omelettes. We would definitely stay here again.

Review 85:Our first sink was clogged. I was thrilled there was another sink in the bathroom as well!

Review 86:The staff was very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was a great surprise!

Review 87:As we were there attending The Idaho Freedom Foundation celebration, though we had been booked at the Hotel, we received three different billings before leaving. No one at the desk seemed to know anything nor could make no final decision.

Review 88:Attention to detail. Friendliness of general staff. Quiet.

Review 89:No complaints

Review 90:We selected The Riverside as we prefer this type of hotel as opposed toa high rise. Loved the setting on the river with the path. The breakfastincluded was a great buffet which was more than expected.

Review 91:A little difficult to find...could perhaps use some directional signs?

Review 92:Everything about the Riverside is great...from the friendly staff to the perfect pillows and bed linens. The restaurant serves some of the best food and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to please.

Review 93:Excellent food, fun bar

Review 94:Comfy bed, excellent restaurant, complimentary breakfast buffet which included prime rib and made to order omelets.

Review 95:I loved everything.

Review 96:Wonderful staff, excellent rooms, next to River & bike paths.

Review 97:Location, friendly staff, clean room&environment, good room service
