Reviews for Eagle Wing Guest Motel

Review 1:Absolutely nothing!

Review 2:John, the "Innkeeper" & his wife were very friendly & hospitable. They gave us great suggestions sbout places to eat & points of interest that were still open. The muffins in the lobby on Sunday morning were the best ever! ( I believe Melanie baked them). I plan on staying there again!

Review 3:We really enjoyed our stay at the motel! The rooms are clean and spacious. You can rent bikes for free and the Cape Cod bike lane is just around the corner. John and Melanie, the owners, are the most perfect hosts. They are so helpful and supportive! We had a problem with our rental car and John did not hesitate a second to solve our problem. Thanks again for that! My husband and I would definitely stay there again.

Review 4:The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. He gave us suggestions for dinner restaurants and directions for touring before we left. We appreciated the Continental breakfast and the almond milk.

Review 5:Nothing!

Review 6:The owner offered real hospitality and service. Free and well mantained bikes for for biking trail along sea shore.Excellent breakfast. Although a motel , the rooms are very modern and large . At the back you have your own terrace. Good wifi.

Review 7:Happened to have a room by ice maker. Sometimes you could hear it at night.

Review 8:The room was very nice and clean. Also liked that you could sit outside on the deck right out the back door. The breakfast is very good and enough food and beverages were present. The nicest thing was how pleasant the staff was. They made you feel like you were staying with family. The location is great and close to beautiful scenery. They couldn't be more accomadating..

Review 9:John was an excellent and enthusiastic host. He was always ready to reccomend places to eat/drink/relax but never pushy and was interested to know what you thought of them.

Review 10:2nd time to stay here. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful. John seems to genuinely enjoy visiting with his guests. Will definitely be staying again!!

Review 11:Quaint New England motel that is more like a bed and breakfast. The owners have taken great pride in maintaining the property inside and out. The continental breakfast was tastefully done with cereals, fruits and breads. John is very friendly and made you feel right at home. This is a hidden gem and we hope to return in the spring :-)

Review 12:We used to rent a house in this area for years, when our 4 children were young, so we were very familiar with this lovely area. Eagle Wing was great, John and his wife were such nice hosts, and her breakfast muffins were wonderful. We were so excited to be back on the Cape, and would definitely stay here again!!

Review 13:Great location near the National Seashore. Very clean, comfortable. The most impressive part of our stay was the customer service - owner John goes out of his way to be sure his customers are well taken care of and their needs are met.

Review 14:The Motel owner was so pleasant, friendly and helpful! We really enjoyed talking with him and he had numerous recommendations of places we could visit. Also complimentary breakfast available in the morning with muffins, fruit and cereals. Coffee and tea is available all day with a great selection of hot teas! The room was clean and updated, and the motel is in a great location close to restaurants and National Seashore. Very easy to find off Rt 6. Well kept grounds and nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back and stay again!

Review 15:The owners sincerely care about their customers. We were delighted with the hospitality. They went far beyond our expectations to make our stay wonderful. We will definitely stay at the Eagle Wing the next time we visit Cape Cod.

Review 16:This is just a great motel. The room was lovely and spotless. Coffee and breakfast was quite good. We certainly would highly recommend Eagle Wings to friends.

Review 17:The owner bent over backwards to make sure that we were satisfied with everything. He treated as if we were one of his family. The facilities are first class and a fantastic value.

Review 18:A little more selection in the breakfast department would be nice.

Review 19:Rooms were very clean, quaint and nicely decorated. The place is very well cared for, the owners are good people.

Review 20:Skeptical of the excellent reviews, but tremendously exceeded our expectations!! John & Melissa were wonderful hosts and the room was clean, comfortable & convenient. We will stay there again and recommend the eagle wing to others!!

Review 21:What a little gem of a place. The owners really take pride in their facility and pay attention to all the little and large maintenance and housekeeping details.

Review 22:The owners John and Melanie are sole operators and it appears their lovely teenage children are also a big part of the running of a very fine facility. We felt so welcomed by them and they could not do enough to accommodate and anticipate our needs. We felt like we were staying with friends. The property is lovely, very centrally located and very well cared for. Pool was great and warm and the place was very quiet - I would suggest very suitable for people who like a calm environment (so, not ideal for children). We will be back.

Review 23:The owners make you feel like at home. John and Melanie supported us with every inquiry we had. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well maintained. The setting sparks with love to detail and taste. Even though conveniently located at Hwy 6, there was no noise disturbance at night. We took advantage of the complimentary bike rental and enjoyed exploring the area. The breakfast was simply delicious with a good choice of carefully displayed food. The posted pictures show the real thing and are not photoshopped. You won't be disappointed when you get there. On the other hand, I shouldn't praise the Eagle Wing too much - it will only make it harder for us to get a booking next time :)))

Review 24:There was nothing I didn't like.

Review 25:The room was spacious, clean and attractive. It was nice to be able to take a swim. The central location is great and owner John is gracious and fun.

Review 26:Only thing is that the bed was a bit too stiff, a nice pillow top would be great.

Review 27:Great service, and very friendly. Very informative of the area even recommended things to do when we only stayed 1 day.

Review 28:The motel is located on a busy two-way thoroughfare, which means that you'll have a wait of a minute or two (at least in the tourist season) if you're trying to cross fast-moving traffic to head left into Orleans. Yet its location in Eastham is not in the Orleans commercial district--a plus!

Review 29:The room was attractive: clean and neat; the decor new and tasteful; the sturdy alarm clock on the night table with USB and 3-prong outlets quite handy for cell-phone or ipad charging; the a/c worked well, the bed was gigantic and comfortable; the bathroom white and sparkling with no mildew or water damage. I especially liked the towels (not your usual terry cloth). I was happy to see it had a miniature fridge, though a microwave and a coffee maker would have been even better. Parking right in front of the room was a welcomed accommodation.

Review 30:The owner/manager is a warm friendly courteous Gentleman. And always meets the needs of his customers. Highly recommend this motel!!! I will be going back to stay at the Eagle Wing as I loved the place. Food is good. Pool is nice to come back to. Bed and linens are fresh and rooms are comforting. And clean and welcoming.

Review 31:The room was well appointed, spacious and very clean. Nice bed linens and a very comfortable king bed. The bathroom was small, but once again, fresh and clean. I appreciated the makeup remover cloths and hairdryer. John and his wife were very welcoming and even accommodated our two hour early arrival. The grounds, back door to a deck with chairs and table were all very nice as was the continental breakfast of fresh fruit, muffins and croissants, cereals, etc in a pleasant breakfast room. Eagle Wing is definitely several cuts above the usual Cape Cod motel-motel style but more like an inn. I would highly recommend it.

Review 32:THE HELPFULLNESS AND PERSONAL ATTENTION GIVEN US BY JOHN (THE OWNER?). WHEN WE AT FIRST EXPRESSED DISAPPOINTMENT AT NOT GETTING WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A B&B, HE OFFERED TO FIND US ONE. BUT WE DID STAY AND WERE HAPPY.

Review 33:The owners, John and Melanie, were very accommodating and helpful. Their suggestions for restaurants were super. They were very knowledgeable about the Cape Cod area, trails, parks, and venues.

Review 34:Run like a B&B where the owner will actually sit down with you with a map and explain all there is to do in the area. The motel is very clean and well kept up. The breakfast in the morning was a very satisfying mix of breads, cereals, fruit and juices. If you like to stay up late drinking and partying, go somewhere else. I'm sure the owner would not be tolerant, which is great for the rest of us who prefer to relax when we're on vacation.

Review 35:The owners are wonderful people and have done a great job making it a top notch place to stay! We will definitely go back!! Sandra and Bruce, Mattapoisett

Review 36:The location is excellent, the rooms are clean and updated and the owner is very friendly and willing to help with all of your questions about the area. We recommend Eagle Wing to our family and friends.

Review 37:Only downside--we couldn't stay longer!

Review 38:I haven't had a nicer stay in a hotel for a long time. The owner of the property checked us in, introduced himself and asked us if we'd been in the area before. After explaining that this was our first visit, he sat down with us and a map and gave a very detailed, yet succinct introduction into the area. He had excellent recommendations for beaches, activities, and places to eat. The rooms were clean, sheets were soft yet crisp, bed was firm yet comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was exactly what we needed to get started on our day. John, the owner, was so welcoming and genuinely interested in us as guests.

Review 39:Internet connection was only fair. Had to try multiple times to reconnect once off the network. Had to walk outside to get a better connection when making a VOIP call. Right on Route 6. Noise not an issue as property set back but the outdoor public areas faced the road.

Review 40:Room was spacious and well maintained. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The office area, which was also the breakfast/snack area, was clean and inviting and provided a place to interact with the owner and the other guests. The breakfast provided was good quality and offered enough options. Coffee and snacks continued to be available during the day. The availability of bikes to borrow was a nice option. John, the owner, was very friendly. This is a motel but run like a B&B. Good location convenient to several National Park seashore areas.

Review 41:Nothing - it was all good.

Review 42:So many things made this a great place to stay. Especially the attentive and affable nature of Melanie and John, but also the spacious, clean and well appointed accommodation (bed very comfortable, quality linen and good range of toiletries), the convenient location mid way along the Cape, and the more than adequate breakfast

Review 43:Nothing about it was unlikeable.

Review 44:This is the way every hotel should be run - a hands-on friendly management who work hard and produce a venue of sheer excellence. Couldn't rate it better. On our recent trip to the States, we stayed in eight hotels, including some 'national' names/chains, and this was the best by a country mile.

Review 45:Eagle Wing was quiet, clean and comfortable. Our stay was quick as we attended a wedding in Brewster. Would have liked to have time to enjoy their pool or a rest on one of their hammocks.

Review 46:Not really a problem, but it would have been nice to have one of the rooms with a deck. We checked in early and we could have been assigned one of these.

Review 47:Well located, friendly proprietors, comfortable room, adequate breakfast.

Review 48:Super friendly owners, great location and clean comfy room!! This is the second time I've stayed here, and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay down the Cape. Love the back patio area in the morning with a cup of coffee. I did not go in the pool either visit but looked clean. Did not eat breakfast there but did see it and looked like a good spread of food and coffee.

Review 49:No bad experience.

Review 50:Melanie and John are great innkeepers who were truly interested in ensuring we had the best possible experience during our first visit to Cape Cod.

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:Very friendly welcome from John and Melanie, who went out of their way to be helpful, recommending places to go and places to eat. Lovely to be able to borrow the bikes. Room very comfortable and weather hot and sunny. A great location for visiting Cape Cod.

Review 53:Loved everything

Review 54:The room is spotless and provides for all your needs for a great price. We travel to the Cape often and stumbled on this hidden gem. We will book here first before looking at other hotels/motels.

Review 55:or only complaint was the thin walls. You could hear your neighbors conversations.

Review 56:The owner is extremely friendly and very helpful. The free breakfasts were always plentiful.

Review 57:if you want one minor issue: a missing microwave at the room. but you really won't miss it because it is in the breakfast room to which you have access most of the time.

Review 58:On arrival we initially assumed to find just another motel as we found so many others… we definitely were positivly surprised! We found a cosy maritime-style entrance hall were we were warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff – the owner and his wife. The very clean motel-room – we rather should say hotel standard room – was recently modernized and nicely equipped. Most motel-rooms are smelling a little odd or even mouldy, this was fresh and you could feel home immediately. Breakfast was included and could be received in the little but sufficient breakfast-room or entrance hall were we got a lot of local information and recommendations from the staff, too. Fresh home-made muffins were available. “it is your vacation, we are here to let you feel home!” was the motto. Even individual needs due to stomach problems were offered! Very positive: no pets at all and no smoking on the entire property to keep the high quality!! little individual sitting areas to enjoy the evening or for early birds a sunrise with a cup of freshly brewed coffee which meets "European needs"! To sum it up: we would like to come back and will for sure recommend this house!!! Very good starting point for all island discovery activities.

Review 59:Shower pressure could have been better.

Review 60:John was the nicest host we had ever met! He gave us lots of recommendations of things to do in the area. He went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed.

Review 61:Owners John and Melanie have transformed this early motel into a fresh and clean inn that feels just right. They are present and personable, and take responsibility for everything going smoothly so their guests can really relax. If you need a vacation from your vacation and corporate America this is a place to go.

Review 62:The heater was noisy at night even when turned to the lowest fan level. An oil radiator electric heater would have been nice.

Review 63:The back porch on each room with birds singing during the day and frogs singing in the evening.

Review 64:We ran on the local trail that runs for 26 miles up the Cape but care is needed crossing the main road... But once you've crossed the road you the trail is traffic free and worth exploring.. You could use the bikes that the hotel provide FOC if you're not up for running

Review 65:The location worked well for us as a base to explore the Cape. The managers couldn't have been more helpful in giving us tip and advice on places to visit and I'm sure this added to a great experience... We will visit again when we next visit Boston. The tip to go to a particular spot to watch the sun set was priceless Thank you

Review 66:Close to where I had business Spacious room Delicious morning coffee. Breakfast in real cups, bowls, plates - not styrafoam! Friendly owners who cared about their guests' experience.

Review 67:Excellent staff and very nice, clean facilities; very close to everything we were seeking in Eastham, Orleans, and Wellfleet... And just far enough off the road that we could hear the peepers and redwing blackbirds though the rear window!

Review 68:Extra blankets would be helpful for this early season. Otherwise nothing I didn't like.

Review 69:The bed was particularly comfortable, and the room was very clean and nice overall.

Review 70:From the moment we stepped through the door we felt supported and very well cared for. The owner was gracious, helpful and seemed personally concerned about our stay and comfort.

Review 71:I wish there was hot breakfast available. I recommend also going when it warms up a bit more like early May before memorial day, more places will be open.

Review 72:The staff, the cleanliness of it all, recommendations of where to visit and what to do.

Review 73:John was so helpful and friendly without being overpowering, offering help and information to make our stay very enjoyable. Fabulous part of Cape Cod, easy access to beaches and places of interest. Room very comfortable, nice to be able to sit outside too.

Review 74:Enjoyed our visit.

Review 75:We enjoy this part of the Cape, and the Eagle Wing, was in a great location, and also clean and comfortable. The owner was very nice and made us feel welcome. It's apparent the owners have made upgrades, and take pride in this modest motel.

Review 76:Room size was quite good. Owners are onsite at all times and they are very friendly and helpful. Facility is very clean and king size bed is comfortable. Continental breakfast setup with take- out trays in lobby works well. Eagle Wing has many nice small amenities to complete picture. It is a motel type facility (one floor, drive up to door) which suprised us at first but we learned most all accomodations in this area are of this style. With that in mind, this is a good one.

Review 77:Only slight reservation was that the sound insulation between rooms wasn't great (though no worse than many motels or hotels). Dependent on neighbors, getting a good nights sleep when the motel is busy with families could be an issue. Luckily, during our stay it was quiet.

Review 78:Spotlessly clean rooms. Great location in terms of easily getting around the Cape. Above all, the great welcome from the owner who was very knowledgeable about the local area and who suggested places to visit we would otherwise never have known about.

Review 79:Small TV. Too far away from bed. Hard to see screen. Cold showers when many guests are also showering. Musty smell, bothers my allergies.

Review 80:Ease of check-in, pleasant staff. Nice accommodations. Wifi worked well. Clean room. Would definitely stay again.

Review 81:Wall thickness... you will hear your neighbours talking unless they are considerate and make an effort to lower their voices

Review 82:convenient location, surprisingly decent coffee and good muffins for breakfast, very helpful owners with tons of advice about the area

Review 83:Bathroom is a bit small but shelves are provided to keep personal items away from the sink.

Review 84:I just love staying at the Eagle Wing. I love the location as I prefer that part of the Cape. The rooms are very clean, with enough towels and soap/shampoo. The hosts are very accommodating with coffee, muffins, and cookies and John is great about answering questions about the area. I will return.

Review 85:Not enough Long Island chairs for everyone to enjoy the lawn at breakfast time. Bicycles on first come first served basis.

Review 86:The staff were excellent and the quality of the accommodation was superb. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the room in comfort. Nice bathroom amenities.

Review 87:Everything was lovely. All the correct ingredients to make a great stay.

Review 88:This is a very good motel/ b&b option on the cape. Its a short distance from the amazing cycle trail and the free bikes make it great value for money, but the real clincher is the superb attention to detail and professionalism of the host John. He really made our stay. Great knowledge of the area, great advice on local restaurants, directions, etc. The fresh breakfast was also simple and very good. I can't recommend this place enough.

Review 89:The room had a funny chemical smell, maybe from the carpet, or some dampness in the room.

Review 90:Easy central location. Very clean and thoughtfully done. Green energy lighting. Nice people at front desk. Good coffee & warm muffins!

Review 91:Cape Cod is nice during the summertime but after that its a bit empty. Not that is caused by the hotel. Breakfast is very basic.

Review 92:Host knows alot about the area, the room has lots of space and the bed is good. Bathroom is clean. They had salt water taffee at the desk which was great.

Review 93:There was a very pervasive stale odor in the room - maybe from moisture in the carpet. Not sure, but I opened all the windows and kept them open and the odor persisted

Review 94:Nice, helpful people; room was surface clean

Review 95:A breakfast is included, but there is not much to choose from, only tea, coffee, bananas, apples, and a homemade muffin (which was quite good). There is no toast, cereal or other choices which would make breakfast a little more interesting.

Review 96:This is a family run business and they are very attentive to the customer's needs. John checks you in and is very friendly and likes good conversation. We had many interesting chats and he is more than willing to help you in planning your stay on the Cape. Even though the property is on a busy road, Rte. 6, it is far enough away from the road and is not a bother. The pool is nice and clean and the property with a backyard of lawn and trees is well maintained. Next time we are in Eastham, we will definitely try to book this motel again.

Review 97:The walls between the rooms are quite thin. Luckily, our neighbors didn't talk loudly, or have the TV on too late.

Review 98:We wanted to spend our time biking, and the Eagle Wing was conveniently located near the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The owners were very warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast, with freshly made muffins, a different kind each day, was nicely done. Our room was large, clean, airy, and well lighted. The bed was probably the most comfortable we've slept in while traveling.

Review 99:Everything was great! And the owners are fantastic! Very friendly and helpful. Gave me wonderful tipps for my tour! And made me even twice a breakfast package to go because I had to start early! Thanks for everything!

Review 100:If I have to mention something here, it would be breakfast. Though the muffins are delicious, if breakfast was a little more expanded, eveything would just be perfect!

Review 101:John is the most friendly and helpfull host. Everything is possible. He made a phonecall for our whalewatching reservation. Very clear maps and advice for getting around and having dinner. We could also use bikes for free. Room very spacious and clean. Had a fantastic stay here. Would definately stay there again.

Review 102:John, our host, was very helpful, arranged our whale watching trip and gave us a lot of information where to go. The muffins from his wife were excellent, very hospitable atmosphere, very good.

Review 103:John was particularly helpful in giving us pointers on what to see and where to go and also in finding out about golf tee times. we particularly enjoyed having breakfast outside our room. We would definitely stay at the Eagle Wing again.

Review 104:The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. The owner or manager was so helpful and pleasant . The muffins were Delicious! The outside space in the back of our room was a nice touch. We ate our breakfast outside with a lovely woodsy view.

Review 105:The bar fridge and the window air conditioner motors were antiquated and kept cycling loudly on and off all night. The mattress and pillows were cheap and ultra hard so sleeping was impossible . The breakfast consists of a cheezy corn muffin, coffee and a choice of banana or an apple with juice concentrate offered. The coffee was always warm never hot. We never could sleep and breakfast was disappointing. My advice is to stay anywhere but this place

Review 106:I wouldn't change anything

Review 107:The staff were friendly and helpful, Eagle Wing was peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely stay with them again. Loved having a room that looked out to the lawn and could sit out in the sun there.

Review 108:clean and well finished structure; strategic position, close to main "spots" in Cape Cod; simple but high quality breakfast; grass lawn and pool.

Review 109:Its good and important to save energy, but shutting off the air circulation when the room is not in use causes a slight musty smell that's noticeable when you open the door. Either keep the windows open front and back or run an air exchanger.

Review 110:Our 2nd visit here. Very clean, very comfortable rooms, friendly staff. Enjoyed coffee and pastry in the morning. Easy access to everything. We will definitely be back for our next outer cape visit.

Review 111:No complaints.

Review 112:Grounds & room immaculate. Melanie & John were hospitable & friendly. Appreciated the fruit, muffins, coffee & water in the office that were available daily. Great location for bike trails (just be careful crossing Rte 6). I would definitely recommend & stay again!

Review 113:What a wonderful place to stay. The owners were so helpful and kind. The room was immaculate and so comfortable. If the Lord allows us we will come back next year.
