Review 1：I was disappointed when we checked in and were told that the indoor pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance. That was the main reason that we had booked this hotel.

Review 2：The room was very nice and comfortable. The location was good because it was away from main traffic ways.

Review 3：Well the pool was very misleading. That was one of the main reasons I booked there. The pool and hot tub liked like it hadn't been working for a bit. They should really take the pic off of there. Then on a king size bed the pillows liked like throw pillows.. then there was tons of broken bikes outside lol

Review 9：The first room we were in had a toilet, shower and heater that weren't working. They were attentive to fix the first two though and moved us to a nicer room where everything was working when we asked. The breakfast is pretty lame, don't expect much. The pillows are too flat for my liking.

Review 10：The staff provided great customer service! Very attentive to any problems we had, which we had a few. They immediately fixed everything ensuring we had a good overall experience. The hotel was very clean! I'd recommend being on the 2nd or 3rd floor though, the first floor room we were in seemed really dark echo-y. 2nd room we were in was cozy and was a nice place to stay. Just a little far from the coliseum for us, but that was our own fault for booking a hotel late.

Review 11：Wanted to take breakfast to my room and was not allowed to because of food hoarding and major ant problems (even though the hotel offered room service). Looks like sink was glued in, sheets had holes in them, pillows were "couch" small pillows, batteries were rotting in the remote.

I really think that they can really use a serious upgrade with the rooms.I thought that my second stay would be different but it was so bad, and I will not be returning.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating when we had a last minute cancellation for our last night's stay. They cheerfully granted us a full refund the unused night.

Review 24：four half pillows (12 inch by 12 inch) I guess that equals 2 pillows but looked pitiful. guests above us thumping the floor all night until 5am. Called front desk at 4am. The result was vindictive louder thumping. Awful. Hot breakfast of fake egg discs.

Review 27：Check in person seemed to be distracted, and the first two rooms she gave me each had a problem. After two failures, she seemed to get interested, and then found me a totally acceptable room. There appears to be no automated wake-up call system, and the morning I requested a call, it never came.

We stayed on first floor towards the back of the building. sings the upstairs floors may have been a little cleaner and a better smell but the staff was very friendly and helpful. I did find a piece of hair in the gravy near the biscuits at breakfast

Window view was terrible - brick wall, air vents from laundry depositing "things", electric or gas meter and a down drain from roof. Beds were different heights. The price we paid for the room should have produced better facilities.It seems to be an older hotel that has had some updates but not all.

Had to go to front desk to get one justso I could take a shower. Also no nearby stores.

Review 61：First room was very dirty. Second room was better but not the best. There were bugs in room around the window. Then we checked out a day early before 6:30 am and there was a couple having a domestic dispute in the lobby. Wifi didn't work constantly either.

Exterior window pane looked like it hadbeen shot. Odd but not bad smell. Door didn't close all the way byitself but locked. Bottom of shower curtain was dirty. WiFi was notgreat, I got the other hotels wifi signal more often than my own andwhen it did connect it was very slow.

Review 67：1st cigarette smell/smoke everywhere - even in our non-smoking room 2nd we booked a double room but none were available so we were given a suite...the sofa bed was older than the building. and mattress looked like it should have been in the garbage-ripped in many places. 3rd. When we picked up mattress to put on sheets there were enough crumbs to make half a loaf of bread. Ok slight exaggeration but at least one slice. Wiered thing is bed was actually quite comfortable and seemed clean - that's why no sad face for comfort. Staff was very nice and did best to help us. We got a cot for son and it was a bit better than sofa. We only stayed because it was after 11pm

Review 68：We tried to take our belongs out of the room and had to do it by hand and then when we got to the exit out, a bunch of people block the exit. The people who did this had 2 cars blocking the exit while 3 other cars were waiting to unload.

(they are the size of a hand towel) The towels are very small at this hotel and we always ask for more, never was a problem before this visit. We hope it will not be a problem in the future visits.

Review 90：The sheets were not ironed, they were clean but that was immediately noticeable. MAJOR PROBLEM: They are located at 21 Old Oyster Pt Rd, Newport News, VA. (One block over from the main road) The Main Street in that part of town is Oyster Pt Rd and so we rode around quite a while looking. Locals apparently were confused and offered us little help. A Solution: They need to advertise (signage) on the Main Street or have the city put up signage pointing to Old Oyster Pt Rd. Seriously, we were so weary, we were considering finding another hotel.

Review 91：The facility was well kept, quiet. Staff were personable. They offer complimentary replacement of essential toiletries, I forget to bring my toothbrush and they gave me one free of charge. Nice!

Review 92：it was too far from Williamsburg. It smelled moldy. The pool was dirty, there was mold spots all around bathtub. We chose not treat there because of conditions

The sinks in the bathroom had caulk smears. The corners in the bathroom were nasty... Just years of buildup.

Per my norm, I clean everything when I get to a room anyway, so a quick wipe down did the trick. Review 106：I really loved this place. I stayed there for a couple of hours a few years ago for a class reunion, on my way to the Marriot, which is where I was booked for the rest of the time. I checked out thinking that I should have spent all of my time there.......When I came for the class reunion this time, I knew where I wanted to stay, hoping that the place hadn't deteriorated because it was no longer Sleep Inn. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was so courteous and welcoming and the room was great.....so great that I was considering staying another day. Had a great time here and plan on staying again next summer.

Review 129：Ordered a non-smoking room that smelled like an ash tray, had ash trays in the room. Whole building smelled like smoke, pool water was dirty, lights flickered, doors stuck shut or wouldn't open the entire way. Not a great hotel.

Review 131：The mattress in one of the room was sunked in. One of the helpers(JoAnn) in the kitchen was beyond rude. Constantly had to call the front desk to complain about the people over top of us.

Review 138：The inside lobby was very nice overlooking the pool that was cloudy and lots of bubbles like on the edge of a dirty pond... breakfast was worst than bad... no sausage or bacon and to top it off only boiled eggs.... you ask the staff if there will be any in the future all the answer you will get was "NO".... Will not recommend this location at all....
