Reviews for Graduate Madison

Review 1:I booked a standard room which did not say that it was only a full size bed. That was not going to work so the hotel did put us in a room with a queen. I think it should be more prominent in the advertising that a standard room is only a full-size bed.

Review 2:The location was excellent. The décor was great!! Cute. The rooftop bar was chic and interesting; great view. The bed was comfortable

Review 3:There is something wrong with the bathroom door though. And there is a little cleaning issue...

Review 4:The staff is really awesome!! The decorations side my room is very unique and I like the style very much!! Also they put a little snack on my bed before I left!! It it so sweet!!

Review 5:Never cleaned my room. Bathroom was very dirty when I checked in. & after calling the front desk several the made only came And made the bed.

Review 6:The new roof top restaurant and location

Review 7:The walls are not soundproofed well. Due to the excellent location on campus, the typical guests here are more likely to be returning to their rooms after bar time, with all the boozy ruckus that one might expect. It's a college town, I was prepared for it, so not really a disappointment.

Review 8:The location was excellent, parking on site a bonus. One staff member in particular, Dennis, was extremely helpful and pleasant! The cuisine and whisky selection in the rooftop restaurant was top notch. The lobby coffee shop, hand pies, staff were great too. I will definitely stay here again.

Review 9:we were on the 6th floor and could hear music above us and also from college kids. we did not mind since we were staying up late night at the bars anyways but dont expect peace and quiet until about 2 am. also, the entrances to parking garage are unlocked and allow access for anyone to enter hotel. i think they should put up a key card entry there for only employees and guests to enter the elevators. too nice of a facility to risk vandalism from drunk college wanderers.

Review 10:amazing new facility with great linens, comfortable bed, shower pressure, amazing toiletries (i know, crazy for a hotel brand). also within walking distance to everywhere downtown madison. freakfest was quite busy but hotel allowed us to park under the building and our car was safe. our toiletries were empty upon day of arrival but the hotel was quick to refill them. also loved the cafe on the first floor and the seventh floor. the bar on 7th floor was amazing with views of the lake and downtown ariel 360. food and juice bar near lobby area was very scrumptious. will definitely stay again

Review 11:Parking was inconvenient - lot was full so they had to valet some, but didn't get them off the street efficiently so people were getting parking tickets

Review 12:Shower had low water pressure. Parking garage was extremely small with very few spots available and navigating is difficult. Having said that, there was valet parking available to another parking site. I felt that the room was a little pricey.

Review 13:Bed was exquisite with very comfortable pillows! Staff was polite and friendly. Room was very clean. Good quality food at restaurant.

Review 14:Was told different closing times for the upstairs bar by multiple staff. Then was updated 3 separate times on when we were to leave the bar

Review 15:great location and facilities

Review 16:Last time I stayed they cleaned my room before I checked out and threw some of my things away. This time the room temperature was hot and incontrollable.

Review 17:Location

Review 18:My only complaint is that my room was on the 6th floor (which I requested), but directly under the kitchen for the rooftop bar/restaurant. It was a little noisy for that reason, but nothing worth not staying here again, which I absolutely would do.

Review 19:We were looking at UW-Madison and wanted to get a feel for campus night-life. This place was perfect. You're right in the thick of things, but there are no problems with noise from outside. If you like "boutique" hotels, you'll love this place.

Review 20:Although i called for a late check in (after 7pm), my room was not ready when we arrived. Rooms very small. Light fixtures by beds were broken. Parking very tight for a larger vehicle.

Review 21:Loved the decor, comfortable beds and pillows, liked bath products (although the body wash in the shower was empty) awesome fresh deli for breakfast

Review 22:There was dried blood on the bathroom floor when we checked into our room. I cleaned it up. Very unsanitary. When I mentioned it to staff, they said there was some tiling being done and maybe that was the cause. I didn't see any evidence of recent tiling, but even if there was, this is unacceptable. Furthermore, when we arrived in our room, there was some crumpled garbage on the desk. I had thought that the hotel would have given us a discount on the room, but they did not.

Review 23:Location is excellent. Staff is friendly.

Review 24:In this day, double beds are not acceptable. I didn't even think about it when I made the reservation. I honestly thought it meant two beds.

Review 25:Loved having a restaurant and the downstairs lobby bar and food area. Great location. The manager worked hard to make us happy.

Review 26:That our room wasn't ready at 3:30pm when we arrived and that we had two fire alarms go off at 7:30 and 8am after a long Saturday evening at the bars. OUCH!

Review 27:The location is excellent and it's a pretty hotel.

Review 28:Hold of monies on my credit card. Extra price for parking. With as much as I paid for hotel, I think that parking should have been included.

Review 29:Walking distance to Kohl center. Very friendly staff. Nice room.

Review 30:A little pricey but it was parent's weekend and a football Saturday for the Badgers so understandable to a certain extent.

Review 31:Location was awesome! Rooftop bar was very cool. Room decor was also nice.

Review 32:Fitness center is far too small.

Review 33:Fantastic hotel. Hipster, retro, collegiate, fun and charming. Well designed, cozy. Perfect location - right on campus. Food was great. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 34:Would have preferred some drawers in room for clothes. Just shelves in low cabinets.

Review 35:Loved the location & decor. Very well done. Staff was also very nice!

Review 36:Price charge for the bicycle.(more than the local rent) The Screen did not go down to the floor. (still visible from outsite) No up stairs bar yet. Do not put the sign in the room.

Review 37:Nice quality in the room than expected. Staffs are friendly and helpful. LIsten to customer's need.

Review 38:The lobby is a little uninviting and the price is steep, probably due to the location on frat row near the Memorial Union.

Review 39:The decors is playful and well done.

Review 40:There was no clock in the room. The cables for the TV looked extremely tacky hanging down the wall. The air conditioning was loud. The bathroom ceiling was low, maybe 6'5". There was no separate light in the shower. There were no glasses in the room except for the paper cups for the coffee machine. The decor was sometimes trying too hard to be clever but missed the mark. The actual amenities of the room had some big holes. The bed was not as good as it should have been. The best bed I've ever had in a hotel was at the Aria in Las Vegas (they sell them separately they're so good). If you could do that it would be awesome. You could do more with the limitations you have (small elevators, low bathroom ceilings) and work the limitations into your theme.

Review 41:The location was fantastic. Some of the decor worked given the theme, though it was not consistantly clever or well done. I could see what your were going for, but it didn't always work. Soft towels.

Review 42:Noisy ventilation on the third floor. Slooooow free internet (1 MBps, with ability to upgrade to faster. That's just sad).

Review 43:Friendly staff! Great town.

Review 44:Lack of variety of food in café, price especially since hotel was not completed - rooftop bar/restaurant not open yet, was not told about that or about parking charge

Review 45:Very clean, good quality, beautiful decor

Review 46:The front desk lady was busy, understandably, but the manager was walking around like a dope and didn't help us, even though we waited for a good 10-15 minutes to check in. He came over to chat with us after the front desk lady was already helping us.

Review 47:The rooftop bar isn't open yet because they are still finishing construction, but that should be great when it's done.

Review 48:The themed design of this hotel is great, and the location is the best in Madison! Everything is decisively mid-century modern, and done well. The finishings, towels, and bedding were all very high quality and comfortable. I would stay here over a Hilton or Marriott any day.

Review 49:Cooking smell permeated the lobby and even to the second floor. Staff seems inexperienced and not much help re restaurants, etc. Laundry service was closed Mondays. Rooms can be dark. WiFi not very good for streaming.

Review 50:Convenience to campus is terrific. Rooms are clean and comfortable. WiFi is free.

Review 51:Loved the decor, comfort of the room - warm and inviting; bed was comfortable and felt luxurious.

Review 52:TV didn't work, staff. Not very helpful room quite small

Review 53:Location was nice

Review 54:I liked the dorm room theme, it added a nice touch. Airport shuttle was quick and easy.

Review 55:Warm, pleasant and accomodative

Review 56:Shower area was not super clean

Review 57:Location and decor

Review 58:Nothing

Review 59:Location and fun decor were tops!

Review 60:room #213 is too over priced for its size and water pressure in the shower was terrible. Felt like a dorm room

Review 61:Room changed to #512 was excellent

Review 62:Thin TP

Review 63:Great bed and funky decore!

Review 64:dirty towels on bathroom floor when we arrived

Review 66:noise levels, VERY cramped room, too much clutter and no where to put our stuff

Review 67:Decor, staff, ease of booking

Review 68:housekeeping was understaffed, took 2 hours to check-in after a 45 minute promise.

Review 69:quaint, old hotel. excellent location to campus. friendly people.

Review 70:Fire alarm went off multiple times at 7am on Sunday. Place was very small. No closet.

Review 71:Location is great.

Review 72:The bathroom was a little small

Review 73:Loved the theme/decor and homey feel. The rooftop space was fresh and relaxing. Staff was wonderful on all fronts.

Review 74:parking was very tight for bigger vehicle

Review 75:Fridge & safe not ready for use.

Review 76:New & location.

Review 77:No breakfast. Paid parking
