Reviews for Captains Quarters Motel & Conference Center
Review 1:Guests in next room were very loud and disruptive. Furnishings were adequate but a bit worn. Price of the room did not match the amenities provided
Review 2:Location convenient to Wellfleet and restaurants on Rte 6
Review 3:Daily pet fees are higher than usual and it was not clear when I booked online or checked their website how much it costs for a small pet. $20/day
Review 4:Comfortable clean rooms and property. Relaxing atmosphere and very friendly and professional staff (which is very rare in motels!) Excellent location and easy on-site access to trails.
Review 5:Room was dark with no outside sitting area. Appreciated complimentary breakfast but very limited and uninteresting. Not a real problem as we used the property mainly for sleeping
Review 6:Convenient location, right on Route 6. Some good restaurants a couple blocks away. Large room that backed up to woods gave us some privacy. Bathroom clean and renovated. Frig in room. Bike trail access from the parking lot. Able to bring our dog. Great price at $89/night.
Review 7:I think the toilet was leaking. There was water spreading thru the night. There was a dog barking for several hrs but was not part of the hotel property.
Review 8:Room was comfortable. Location was not close to all my fav spots but it is away from the areas of greater traffic congestion. Great spot if you plan to use the bike trail.
Review 9:Good location. Close by to restaurants, etc. Friendly staff. Microwave & fridge in room & ice machine nearby. Room clean & comfortable mattresses. Good stay!
Review 10:The seat on the sofa in the room was exceptionally low - you have to be careful when sitting down.
Review 11:Good value - excellent location, good mattress, clean. Proprietor very helpful in giving directions. Free and easy to access wifi!
Review 12:Coffee machine wasn't working in morning, and i needed to leave early......I couldn't take advantage of the continental breakfast. Shower rod was rusty.
Review 13:access to P town
Review 14:rude front desk person could no get off her computer to check us in..pool was green mananger said it was ok just cloudy..
Review 15:clean large rooms..house keeping was great
Review 16:The breakfast was all carbohydrates - I thought some protein could be added - even hard boiled eggs. The selections were not conducive to gluten intolerance.
Review 17:The beds were very comfortable.
Review 18:Property is older and it shows in the carpeting, furniture, towels, etc...but it is clean, the pool is great, the location is great and is close to the beaches and restaurants.
Review 19:Location is great.
Review 20:Property was rather dated
Review 21:The staff were very friendly, accessible, and made time to answer questions. Rooms were large and clean. They have a very nice pool.
Review 22:Captains Quarters We had a good sized room with 2 double beds. There was a desk, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was fine. Breakfast had 2 kinds of cereals, bagels and creme cheese, toast, muffins and juice. Staff was very nice. It is a good location on route 6 and only about 2 miles from the National Seashore Salt Pond visitor center in Eastham. We have stayed there in the past and have enjoyed our stay each time.
Review 23:We were initially given keys to a room that was still occupied. Awkward! Quickly remedied, but awkward. Thung weren't particularly updated, but they were certainly adequate.
Review 24:It was fine. The place was clean and quiet. The mattresses were good. It was a great value.
Review 25:The door in the bathroom dragged, but we were told upon our departure that it would be fixed.
Review 26:Found front desk people to be courteous and helpful. Close to ice machine and beaches and restaurants!
Review 27:I thought the price was high. Facility needed to be updated for the amount it is charging. Breakfast was included however, you should offer hot food as well.
Review 28:Location of facility.
Review 29:The room smelled bad. We tried to air it out and after the first night it got better, but for that first day it was tough.
Review 30:Location was excellent. The room was big.
Review 31:Others have stated this, but the breakfast could use some protein like peanut butter, yogurt, hard boiled eggs.
Review 32:Have stayed at other "motels" in the area and this one had newly renovated rooms. Quite comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave in the room. Good internet. Nice pool. Clean. Front desk very accommodating. Excellent stay.
Review 33:Not a lot of healthy alternatives for breakfast. Adding yogurt and more fruit selections would be an improvement.
Review 34:Great location and value for the money. Very friendly staff.
Review 35:A bit dated, they just barely keep up with basic maintenance. Shower was very challenging, leaky shower head, that gave a fine mist and barely any water.
Review 36:Clean and basic. No frills.
Review 37:The breakfast buffet was disappointing, and the rooms are not very aesthetically pleasing. I thought the price was a little steep for weekdays, but it was the height of the season.
Review 38:Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Great location for trips all over the Cape. Nice pool and nice guests.
Review 39:Decor of rooms, needs sprucing up, breakfast was too unappetizing that we went elsewhere, brkfst room not particularly pleasant
Review 40:Set back from major street, unpretentious
Review 41:Toilet seat needed repair, left it up on Sat so cleaning crew could see it, not fixed
Review 42:Courtney was most helpful, refrigerator with small freezer would be nice
Review 43:Breakfast was low quality food as are most B&B continental breakfasts. But it's FREE!
Review 44:Location is excellent. My husband joined me part way through. Seems to me the bed was a bit soft. Loved the tree shaded setting, no road noise and picnic tables and fridge.
Review 45:The carper in the room was old and a musty smell to it. The continental breakfast was okay but could have been better.
Review 46:The size of the room, comfort of the bed, and the newer bathroom. The all-day coffee machine in the lobby was a plus.
Review 47:I had to leave a day early due to an emergency at my condo and theyasked why I had to leave but nothing. Oh good luck, I got. Couldhave given me some sort of refund especially since they were nowhere near sold out
Review 48:Shower curtain was dirty..breakfast did not even have peanut butter or eggs or protein of any kind (yogurt)...and the "free" wifi was not working - we could not stay connected to the Internet.
Review 49:The hotel staff was most helpful and available for any questions we had or needs we expressed.
Review 50:Would've liked more choices for fruit at breakfast (i.e. bananas or oranges) and yogurt (Greek or regular).
Review 51:The room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was comfortable and loved the comforter on the bed, personally. The room was tidied up and got new towels every day. The pool was so clean and the temperature of the water was perfect.
Review 52:Room smelled very musty. Space under the door allowed bugs to enter room.
Review 53:Location and size of room were great. Refrigerator in room. Old facility but clean and neat.
Review 54:Air conditioner was noisier than expected. Continental breakfast could have included some healthier options like yogurt and fruit (besides apples).
Review 55:Adjacent to the bike trail. Our room looked like it had been renovated, new carpet and bathroom, and mattress was very comfortable. Beverages available all day.
Review 56:Just off main highway, difficult to turn left after 9:am.. Shower head horrible. Continental breakfast was white bread, white bagels, basic cereal, store muffins and apples for the 3 days we were there,
Review 57:Very clean! Quiet room dispite heavy traffic. Beaches and great food within minutes.
Review 58:Control of air conditioning didn't function properly.
Review 59:Very convenient location to Nausett Beach and Coast Guard Beach. Also very many good restuarants located close by.
Review 60:No bad experience....would prefer better towels and bedding, updated pool decking and fencing, just looks tired.ordinary motel on Rte. 6. Good location.
Review 61:Staff polite, we coming, helpful with suggestions. Place OK but dated.
Review 62:Clean, comfortable! Great staff and location. Pool was great and breakfast was simple, but just what you need to get up and get out and explore the Cape! Room was quiet, too, which helped with afternoon naps for our little guy:-)
Review 63:Older drive up to your door motel......but extremely well kept, bright up to date bathrooms, great housekeeping, quiet location and close to bike trail, restaurants, beaches. Excellent value
Review 64:Classic rustic cape cod motel that has been renovated and scrubbed clean. Owner was very accommodating and kind. We checked in late and then had to cancel our extra night. Both were accomplished easily with no extra charge. Continental breakfast, included in room price was better than average. This is not a hotel, resort, or high end property, but completely suitable for budget- minded families- rooms are larger than most. Pool is on small side, but very clean.
Review 65:No clock or radio in room. Pool next to traffic and noise from route 6. There was no quiet shaded place to comfortably sit outdoors, so you were pretty much confined indoors if you just wanted to read, and the shades had to stay drawn if you wanted privacy. The AC sometimes became quite noisy and had to be fiddled with. The breakfast area had TV news running so you couldn't read there. The wall to wall carpet had seen better days.
Review 66:Proprietor was very helpful. My room was quiet.. And clean. There was a convenient deli next door for newspapers drinks and sandwiches.
Review 67:The grounds were a little unkempt tennis court in disrepair , hand rails a little shabby , and small other things but nothing seriously bad about it. It is just a little outdated is all. Don't expect the Marriott but it was nice enough for the price. Very close to bike trail and drive in so location made up for it.
Review 68:The staff was nice and the room was clean and a newly updated bathroom made up for other things.
Review 69:The staff were friendly and ready to help if we needed anything. The Owner/ Manager was extremely nice and well informed. I highly recommend this place.....
Review 70:The breakfast on Sunday was swamped with a group of teenagers that were on a bike trip. They depleted the supply of breakfast offerings which weren't refilled. Monday morning the room was locked and we had to go elsewhere for breakfast. Our room had a cracked toilet seat.
Review 71:the staff was very nice. Pool was clean, though in need of some basic repairs.
Review 72:Maybe a few more breakfast options but all was wonderful
Review 73:The staff was very friendly and let us have a later check out, no charge. Location was wonderful and workers next store at the market We're equally wonderful, gave lots of suggestions of things to do.
Review 74:breakfast was pathetic (no milk for cereal the first am we were there) .need a larger sign on highway. need landscaping. chairs to sit outside
Review 75:location is good. beds are comfortable. staff is friendly and helpful
Review 76:If you like hard beds this place is ideal for you. Unfortunately I am now used to my tempur pedic bed and it's plushness. Breakfast was very Spartan. Two choices of cereal, toast, and bagels. Only up side was free coffee and juices 24/7
Review 77:Location location location. 30 minute drive to Provincetown and hour and a half to Woods Hole. Everything in between is an easy commute.
Review 78:We love that we are so close to such beautiful beaches and the bike trail. A short trip north to P-town and a short trip south to Orleans. The surroundings are very peaceful, set back from the road. The staff is super friendly.
Review 79:The decor was dated and bathroom very small with a sink in the main room which was awkward.
Review 80:it was dog friendly and conveniently located. It was set back from Route 6 so you don't hear highway noise.
Review 81:Our room was low on supplies; towels, toilet paper were not replaced or replenished after the first night.
Review 82:I really liked the desk clerk/hostess. She was friendly, informative, and courteous.
Review 83:Nothing
Review 84:Rooms were nice, clean, had fridge, quiet, small breakfast in the morning, coffee & juices available all day, grounds around hotel very woodsy and nice, manager very friendly
Review 85:The environmental conservationist in me would like to see the plumbing fixtures upgraded to save water.
Review 86:The staff was so accommodating and helpful. Traveling alone, they showed real concern for my comfort and gave me a room that was close to the front office instead of on the far end. They recommended fantastic local places to visit that I never would have discovered on my own. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. A really pleasant stay.
Review 87:I like our beds with crisp fresh linens and unfortunately we didn't get it.
Review 88:Our room was specious and clean. Good location - close to National Seashore beaches, Cape Cod Rail Trail just around the corner and only 20miles to Provincetown (great whale watching tours).
Review 89:The continental breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, cold cereal and plastic wrapped bagels. The beds could use firmer mattresses
Review 90:This motel is very clean and appeared to have new paint and carpet. Very peaceful and quiet even though located on the main road. The location is ideal for exploring the area of bike trails, beaches and visitors center. The pool is large.
Review 91:the room was neat but not clean. nothing has been updated for years, it seems. bagel and muffin at continental breakfast were stale. brown stain on blanket on bed.
Review 92:location was great. staff was friendly & helpful. motel was quiet & comfortable.
Review 93:Not easy to find and enter from busy Route 6, esp. at night.
Review 94:The staff was so friendly and helpful. Rate was good. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is adjacent to the property. Also adjacent was a nice little grocery store/sandwich place that had lobster rolls for only $8.99!
Review 95:Where do I begin?? I think this place was likely nice at one time, but now the owners are bleeding it dry.. just interested in making money with no effort. Luckily it still teeters on being okay and attracts decent people who want a cheap place to stay. The whole time we were there, we did not see a single maintenance person, no one gardening, or anyone tending to anything. There is absolutely no attention to detail. There’s a weedy tennis court with no fence at all (let alone a net!), overgrown bushes everywhere, cracked pavement, etc, etc. The pool looked usable but a little rough too. Breakfast consisted of slimy white bagels and faux everything. I was particularly peeved that the only source of protein (yogurt) was “unsweetened” and loaded with fake sugar. The coffee machine was reasonable. This all said, the place didn’t have bugs and was clean enough. However, I would suggest spending a little more money to get some Cape Cod charm with your stay. Without Helen the owners are in trouble.
Review 96:This accommodation consists of a series of one-story buildings. We had a corner room with a well-located parking spot right in front. Over-all it felt a bit like a cabin which was nice. It’s true - Helen, the front desk clerk is very friendly and helpful. The room seemed clean and was a good size and the price was good. The location was convenient and easy to find too..
Review 97:We had no working toilet for two nights they said they would fix it so when we got back late office closed and no toilet for a second night. They would not give us a discount or money back for this.
Review 98:It's your basic no-frills older motel. Like most older inexpensive motels on the Cape, it's on the main artery, the four-lane Rte 6. It's not scenic, and you can't walk anyplace from the motel; you'll need your car every time you want anything. If you are looking for simply an inexpensive place to sleep, it's more than adequate. You wouldn't want to spend more time there: the room is dark even with the curtains open; there's nothing much to do and no appealing out-of-doors space. There's an outdoor pool, but it looks out on non-scenic Rte 6. Breakfast is offered, but it's your basic, somewhat dreary motel breakfast with machine coffee, plastic-wrapped factory pastries and the TV blaring a bad morning news show.
Review 99:- really nice staff - good value - not far (by car) from Wellfleet, Provincetown, beaches, nature areas. A good base of operations if you plan to be out and about all day and simply need a clean, decent, inexpensive place to sleep. - perfectly ok room, spacious - fridge and microwave in each room - free Wifi
Review 100:The breakfast was marginal and coffee, while available throughout the day, was barely drinkable.
Review 101:Staff was friendly. Motel was older but the room was clean and comfortable. Location great for visiting cape beaches.
Review 102:Very dated rooms Found 2 " pincher bugs" in the bed Can hear people in next room coughing, talking
Review 103:Location near national seashore and bike trail and drive in movie theater Free breakfast
Review 104:The room was very clean and the people in the front office were very helpful. It was nice to have continental breakfast. The dining room is very pleasant and there is coffee and juice available day, which we loved.
Review 105:There were several iutlets that did not work including the ine for the motel-supplied blow dryer. This is a problem when traveling with teenage girls.
Review 106:I stayed at this motel about 5 years ago. It has been updated since and was clean.
Review 107:breakfast just so-so
Review 108:Considering we were there mid=week in August, we were surprised how quiet it was. We like to be able drive right up to the room when we are going to the beach-easy. This motel backs right onto the bike trail=you can bike to the ocean! We like Eastham because we can be at the ocean or the Cape Cod Bay within minutes. They are free if you get their early or late.
Review 109:the person who helped us at the front desk was SO nice! great hospitality and the location is perfect, right by Marconi Beach, Nauset Beach, the Beachcomber, and more!
Review 110:The only improvements I would recommend are to get HD television reception, and more updated room furnishings.
Review 111:We had a pleasant stay. Everything was very clean, the owners/front desk person was friendly and extremely helpful. Room was larger than expected, carpet clean, beds were comfortable.
Review 112:The continental breakfast was a little drab, although the coffee was good. Some variety would have been nice, like granola and hard boiled eggs.
Review 113:I loved the King bed. Very comfortable. Nancy the proprietress was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent .
Review 114:AC was very loud, difficult to adjust to comfortable temperature. Breakfast was OK but not much variety, and nothing fresh. Our last day they had apples, otherwise no fruit. Fresh muffins.pastries would have been nice. A list of channels on the TV would have made it a lot easier to find stations.
Review 115:Pool was warm and very clean, good showers, clean towels every day.
Review 116:The room was dark and the continental breakfast was sub standard. There were busloads of kids that used the pool.
Review 117:The staff was accomodating and very friendly. Beds comfortable.
Review 118:Breakfast was merely OK, We skipped it most days for other options.
Review 119:Traditional road side motel in prime location only a couple of miles to best beaches and Wellfleet. Rooms are sizable and clean, Pool was great, very helpful and friendly staff. Will stay again. Price was very reasonable!
Review 120:The lighting was harsh. There is only one switch to turn on the light in the toilet area and it is tied to a very loud fan. If you need to get up in the night the lights are far too bright and hurt your eyes. It would have been better to have a choice of lighting that was softer and dimmer for the evening.
Review 121:Location is great for us as we like to go to Orleans and Wellfleet. Entrance to motel is easy in & out even in high traffic. Quite at night. Bike path is right there. Marconi Beach is close. Room was well maintained.
Review 122:I had no dislikes
Review 123:the owner is a great person making me feel at home and comfortable. All staff friendly and helpful. great quiet room for the price.good breakfast great coffee machine
Review 124:Furnishing are fine but the colors are a bit outdated. Contl. breakfast was included but we ate elsewhere as it was sparse.
Review 125:Great location, near alot of good restaurants & closest to Nauset Light Beach which was my favorite CCNS beach! Big room with extremely comfortable bed. Staff was very friendly & accomodating.
Review 126:I didn't like when I got out of shower and the floor was filled with water because a pipe broke in the back of toliet and didn't move us to a different room and the rug was still soaking wet when we went to bathroom!! I can honestly say I don't think i would come back!
Review 127:It was clean I've been to better though
Review 128:No habia "vending machines".
Review 129:Bien situado cerca de la playa
Review 130:We selected this site off the internet. Recommendations were good. Very satisfied for the money. Would stay again.
Review 131:Tennis courts were run down.
Review 132:The location was fabulous and the folks who ran the establishment were very nice.
Review 133:the price in August is too high
Review 134:Staff is great, position
Review 135:The hotel was a good location. It is very dated but clean.
Review 136:Pool wasn't open. TV fuzzy.
Review 137:Staff friendly, room was clean.
