Review 1：I felt as if the apartments were a little outdated and the bedding in one of the apartments smelt stale.

Review 2：The apartments are located in a pretty area with a Cheesecake Factory nearby.

Review 3：Even for short stay. They don't give maid service. No replenish of towels, toilet papers, washing detergent, soap, just a starter kit on first day of check in. So make sure u have supplies. Specially toilet papers. They won't give u even when you go to reception to ask for them. The apt has not been upgraded since the 70s I guess. The micro wave gave me a scare. It was broken with smoke. The alarm went off. I ask for repair. The man came, & fixed it. Still, every time u use it. It's smell rubber. The phone is not working. Laundry uses a debit card that u will fill for minimum of $10. So if u don't have a good load of laundry. Better hand wash. For short stay. Double tree. Embassy suit, and other suit hotel is better. It was excellent in other Oakwood apt hotels, but if in Marina del Rey short stay, I would go to other suit hotel.

Review 4：Nice heated pool gym hot jacuzzi. But jacuzzi does not work. So hot tub. Outside area clean . Has a mini convenient store. So u will buy daily needs. Like toilet papers towel papers dish washing, n other detergent. For a 4 days stay they gave first day starter kit. Then the rest of day. U buy. However, reception staff r super nice.

Review 5：We were exhausted from traveling and wanted to rest but the cable guy was literally working on the cable for 5 hours. I made the reservation early enough that it should've been done before my check in date.

Review 10：Great location close to the beach. Value for money is good. Everything is nice and secure. The pool and pool area is nice and relaxing. I like staying at this place as its more home from home compared to hotels, you can cook your own food etc.

Review 11：Terribly dirty. The smell of dust is in the room. I make some photos of dust inside and on the windows. We were really shoked to see such terrible conditions. The smell of some chemicals in the bathroom. Such difference with the web-site pictures. Equipments came from 70th of last century. Absolutely dissatisfied. Not possible to watch tv from bed. Poor advice re parking for our unit in G block necessitating climbing two and one half flights of stairs with luggage. If in G block, park at far end of top level to avoid two flights of stairs. Reception staff perfunctory on arrival, rude on departure.

Review 27：the room we stayed in was absolutely disgusting. we wanted to leave but didnt want to have to cancel and lose our money. if i knew the room looked anything like that i would never have stayed there. carpet was so gross, old, tiny room, a murphy bed, and all of my clothes smell like mold a day after ive left there.

Unable to call front desk directly from your unit, I end up calling from my cell. The instruction were vague ( had to figure out stuff like how to open the parking gate, etc.)

Review 39：This place is a total dump! Very flithy! The hallways had garbage in them, the carpets in the rooms were gross!! Same with in the hallways and elevators. The bathroom has rusty sink and shower taps and bla k gooey stuff in the corners! The bed was hollowed out in the center and hard as a rock in the middle part ( the hole you fall into becasue its so big!) the parking area has floodex areas and also, flithy!! Really gross, not impressed, nothing like the photos on the web site.

Our apartment faced the main road so ask for an internal-facing one if you stay here. There was a lot of paperwork pre arrival and on arrival as this is a corporate let, not a hotel but it seemed overkill for a few nights

Review 69：The front desk staff gave me a studio wrongly, but what I had booked should be a twin-bedroom apartment. It was so frustrating to find this when I got in the room with my family (5 persons in total including my parents aged 60+ and my son aged 4) at 10:30pm, while the front desk staff were off work. The facilities need to be maintained, the glass separator besides the tub seems would drop anytime, part of the louver dropped when I tried to open the door of the balcony. The chairs at the balcony are dirty. The front desk staff also gave a wrong dirction for the entrance of the parking lot. It took me quite some time to look for the entrance.

Review 70：Lucky that the lady at the general line helped solve the problem. The 1st night charge was waived, and Oakwood reimbursed my first night accommodation at the nearby hotel. The gentleman named "John" at the business centre is very impressive with his warm smile and helpful attitude. The above help making up the unsatisfactory service by the front desk staff.

Review 71：Their key system for the doors was a little strange. It would take us 4-5 tries each time to successfully open the door to our room.

Review 72：The staff was SO accommodating. While we were unable to check in early, they gave us full access to the facilities. This is including the gym so we could shower before heading back out for the day. They even held our luggage for us. Room was great. Location was great. Loved the free parking.

Secure parking available for our hire car and guests. The staff locked our luggage away for us after check out until our late flight and we were able to use the public lounge in that time too. We booked a two-bedrooms apartment, plus I emphasised my parents have difficulties in sleep & we needed a quiet room when I was booking it, however, the room is facing the traffic lights,The balcony is only about 3 meters from the traffic lights, you can imagin... we wanted to switch the room but we were told it was fully booked. - All sinks in the apartment were stucked. - We got a card informed us the clean-up will come in 2nd day(every Tuesday), but there was no body showed.

Review 92：We stayed in f building and no one told us they were painting i t woke up to people on our third floor balcony taped off entrance and I couldn't even get my swim suit Staff was not very friendly. Added charges that were not included when I booked ended up having to switch rooms in the middle of stay. Review 99：I was very disappointed with our stay at the Oakwood Apartments in Marina Del Rey, CA on September 24 thru 27, 2015. Buyer Beware: Since this is not a hotel but an apartment complex for mostly corporate housing, staying less than 30 days incurs an additional tax. (City tax = 12% ; Beach and Harbor Fees = 10.5% ; Totaling 22.5%) This tax is not shown on the Booking.com daily rates. Also, they have a four-day-prior cancellation policy instead of a typical hotel’s day before cancellation policy. The apartment had seen better days and was showing lots of wear and tear. The units were probably built in the 1990’s, the carpet felt sticky, the bathroom/kitchen fixtures were pitted and corroded, there was cosmetic “thick paint” on the cabinets and walls, and the exterior hallways were worn and stained. Pros: - Very large unit with two bedrooms and two separate bathrooms, living room, dining room, and full kitchen - Very near the Venice Pier and beach walk - Secured and covered parking Cons: - Mildew and corrosion on the bathroom walls - Additional short-stay tax - Only one wall unit air conditioner for the entire large apartment. It took excessive time to cool and dehumidify the apartment. - Housekeeping service is only once a week - Overall wear and tear impression ____________

Review 100：The security guard who asked me and my friend to go back to our rooms by 10:30pm cos we couldn't chat by the poolside so late at night. It's not as if we are having a party.

Review 107：We request to check in early 2 month before and after 12 hours flaying we got to the hotel at 10 am and we had to stay until 14.00 waiting for the room and also we request a room with view and not on the ground floor but we got the worse view and on the ground floor .. Review 111：I booked a room at booking.com but I had to change the dates of mytravel so I cancelled my first booking and made a new reservation.Apparently booking.com cancellation had not been captured in the localsystem so Oakwood tried to charge my credit card 3-4 times to settle thefirst booking that I cancelled before my travel. Staff was helpfulthough, the problem was solved within 2 days. But still a bit annoying.

Review 113：Hotel asked me, just after my booking through this site, to fill out another sheet with slightly different or vague conditions than booking.com... and i was reminded every day to fill it up, answer to my question was unclear. air conditioning was a bit old. no price tag in the convenience store (and off course more expensive than outside), and stuff (in the store) was super unkind..., on the contrary the security stuff was really kind and helped us check in at midnight.

I advised Reception at 9am on Wednesday and they advised that they would not be able to do it before I checked out the next day. The staff were friendly but appeared to lack the resources to properly maintain the promised service. The carpet in the hallways was also very dirty and stained.

Our apartment was in very good shape, all you need for mid term stay, 1 bed room apartments, very well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, huge room, very good internet connectivity at over 30 Mbps. Laundry room in basement, small convenience shop on site, quite big fitness room, business room, pool, billiard.

Review 139：Checking in was a nightmare my booking said 1 room & I booked 2 when I questioned it they said I had a 2 then got to the room to find it was a 1 bedroom, after speaking to 5 different staff on different occasions as no one took ownership we were eventually moved the following evening to a 2 bedroom. I then wanted to extend for 1 night which took 45 minutes in the reception & office to do, on checking out I asked to view the charges for the additional night as they were happy for me just to hand the keys in to find that they were going to over charge me massively due to an error on their side! Great if you don't have any queries, issues or changes but expect hours in reception if you do because everything takes forever to resolve.

Lovely pool area and convenience store with wonderful coffee and everything needed. I will stay at Oakwood again as it is better value for money than hotels in the area.

Review 143：I would say the most important thing we did not know is that some people live here... which translated into some of the services you would expect from a hotel (i.e. room service, maid service, towel replacement, towels at pool) are not available.

Review 144：Free wifi, use of pools, hot tubs that are open from 7am-10pm. One bedrooms are big, nice balcony. They let us check in at 10m, that was huge. Laundry (cheap) on site.
