Reviews for Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach
Review 1:Gusty winds prevented breakfast outside, but that was not the hotel's fault. Maybe the inside space could be bigger.
Review 2:I liked that we were close to the Main Street but far enough that we didn't hear the noise and traffic.
Review 3:The elevators. There are only 2 in the Diamond Tower and we had to wait 5-10 mins each time/
Review 4:The beds were fantastic. I slept so good. All of the staff were very nice and helpful.
Review 5:I stayed on the top floor (penthouse level), which was great, however the elevators were bit noisy (noticeable even with wearing earplugs)
Review 6:Great location, great view on Diamonds Head.
Review 7:Expensive car parking costs. $30 per day for valet parking, $20 to self-park.
Review 8:The staff were friendly and always accommodating. Our room was immaculate! We booked a city view room from the 14th floor and the view from the balcony was beautiful. The free WiFi was great, and the breakfast was pretty good - a nice mix of hot and cold foods. The main strip of Waikiki was only a 200m or so walk away. Fantastic location.
Review 9:Location was great close to beach, quiet location but only short walk to the main part of Waikiki. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Beds were so comfy. Breakfast was great & free Wifi.
Review 10:We loved the texting service! We were able to text any requests or questions and the front desk would respond via text. It was super convenient and their replies were pretty quick. Also the room was very clean and spacious. The room/hallways were very quiet. We didn't even hear other guests from our room. The free breakfast was awesome too.
Review 11:Bathroom is tight and outdated, as is some of the paint and decor. The balcony was small enough to make us nervous. We did not spend time on it.
Review 12:Close to Kuhio Beach, ABC stores, and restaurants. Amazing view of Diamondhead from our room. Really enjoyed the included breakfast options and wish we had returned to this hotel on our last night in Honolulu because it was the best value overall of the three hotels we used on this trip to Oahu.
Review 13:Room charge is expensive in consider of the room itself. I also booked a room two days in prior with cheaper price, but the hotel is much better
Review 14:Location is good
Review 15:location to shops and protected beach was excellent. A trolley stop outside. You could book any tours or activities in the hotel. Breakfast was adequate, pool very basic.
Review 16:Despite staying in the deluxe room, balcony was tiny with not much of an ocean view (Could see between two buildings) Balcony width size of chair. No room service - do have a 24/7 pick up meal service though.
Review 17:Good location, comfortable bedding, cleanliness
Review 18:The staff members were super helpful and very nice. The room was exactly as described. The only thing that I would ding them on was the shower (could use an upgrade). Other than that, I would definitely stay here again!
Review 19:During breakfast when is rain there is no enough space at area.
Review 20:All was good except view. Weather was bad and we vacate earlier. This is not hotel problem.
Review 21:So sorry for I always to compare with Japanese hotel's. Such this price over 240USD per night, there will be more and more beatutiful and services. I never choose such this middle level hotels cause it is no any enjoy just expensive.
Review 22:Our bedroom was noisy, the aircond was working ok but noisy and the lifts were next to our bedrooms and were noisy and disturbing. Plus the wind (it was very windy) moves a bit the door to the terrace and it makes also noise....
Review 23:Location, size of the bedroom and beds. New carpet and furniture.
Review 24:I guess I was expecting a Hyatt hotel this is a good motel masquerading under the name of Hyatt. Breakfast was the usual prepared options that as just reheated nothing was cooked fresh on site just reheated. Rubber eggs prepackaged and fruit salad that we are all familiar with when staying at motels across, the USA. The bathroom was small with limited bathroom rack to but toiletries in the bath or sink. I have to admit this was my first trip to Honolulu so may be my expectations were unrealistic.
Review 25:Localtion about 2 blocks from the beach very comfortable beds clean hotel loved walking on the beach in the morning my husband loved the swimming.
Review 26:The Breakfast Menu was a bit boring and not as good value for money otherwise all basic requirements are good. The swimming pool has the sun blocked between mid morning and early afternoon due to other apartments blocking it.
Review 27:The staff and cleanliness of house keeping standards were excellent. All facilities are clean and service was good to.
Review 28:Valet parking was many times overwhelmed. Waited 40 minutes for car on one day and that was getting it ourselves. Unless you were leaving early in morning allow 15-20 minutes to get car. Valet guys were awesome, but a staffing issue for management.
Review 29:Room was great and very comfortable. Great ocean view room and very friendly staff.
Review 30:Location, clean, priced okay
Review 31:Elevator slow.. Many times the staff did not get out of elevator to allow guests to enter. The breakfast buffet was poor quality
Review 32:Nothing - it was all good. It could be problematic at breakfast if raining as seating largely outdoors . But just have to be creative - and grateful for inclusion of breakfast as most hotels do not auto include for everyone.
Review 33:Breakfasts were a bonus. Liked the coffee quality. The business centre - free use of computers and free wifi generally was appreciated. Being on the Pink Line ( tourist bus) was great. Very near beach. The gym was very good too.
Review 34:The breakfast was not nice!! Not enough seats for everyone either! It had rained so the seating was wet.
Review 35:The Gallery Host "Heidi Lazo" was excellent. She waited on us excellently. She booked us in at restaurants and helped with tourist information. I would certainly stay there again if she was working. Very good staff member.
Review 36:Pool only opens after 10am due to brekfast served in the vicinity therefore they could not keep pool open, it was not mentioned anywhere when we were booking! Pool itself is a sham for amount of guest they accomodate its just a joke!
Review 37:Its far from 4stars
Review 38:Between the hotel and the beach there is a building so the view to the ocean is prevented.
Review 39:Location is very good. Free wifi gym and good breakfast. The rooms are very big and clean.
Review 40:The room was very clean and comfortable, nice layout with sleeping and living separated, the beds were amazingly comfortable, good bathroom arrangement with vanity separate from shower/toilet. We all enjoyed breakfast that was included, great selection to choose from. Gym was really good. Staff were friendly and helpful, would definitely stay here again!!
Review 41:We didn't like the location of the breakfast area. It was not a central location. Also, we didn't like it that all the food was outside, easy access to insects, etc. It was also a challenge to find a table for 4, in the shade.
Review 42:Loved everything. The staff was wonderful, good location, great view.
Review 43:Nothing Bad
Review 44:The fresh and lövely decor, rooms and Environment, Great Location on the Pink Trolleybus line, Great Staff, excellent breakfasts included in Price, free wifi and good and accessible Computers
Review 45:A range of the breakfast, uncomfortable shower booth (not handy), a bit far from the shopping centers so we had to walk a lot, but overall nothing really to be criticized.
Review 46:Comfortable beds, we could bring the breakfast to our room, less noisy than other hotels located in the middle of Waikiki, comparatively spacious room for 4 ppl.
Review 47:The batteries in our telephone handset needed replacement for the handset to work plus our toilet clogged twice during our four night stay. However, in each case, a staff member responded quickly toy address the issues.
Review 48:Most importantly I appreciated the friendly, helpful staff. Every hotel staff member whom I encountered greeted me with a smile plus a hello and offered to assist me in any way. We also enjoyed the daily buffet breakfast!
Review 49:Nothing.
Review 50:Just a block and a half from the beach and close to everything you need/want in Waikiki. The hotel was very nice, clean, good size rooms, nice breakfast and the staff were very pleasant.
Review 51:Valet was unorganized. One person had a bad attitude, wasn't helpful. Pool was under construction.i
Review 52:The place was nice and clean. Hotel service was good.
Review 53:In room coffee. Would much prefer a kettle.
Review 54:Beautiful beds and comfortable pillows. Staff were very friendly. Great value, very close to the beach. Nice and quiet. Cheaper mountain view room was fine. Slept really well which is rare for me.
Review 55:Lack of decent room service, ie. no complimentary bottles of water upon arrival until requested, ordered food have to be collected otherwise will incur extra charges. Charged twice for the room with no apology for the inconvenience caused!
Review 56:Location and the staff in general are pretty good.
Review 57:Need more varieties on menu for breakfast Free bottled water should be made available at all time because the weather ia too hot
Review 58:Comfortable bed Perfect location
Review 59:The breakfast " TERRIBLE" I have stayed at the Hyatt in many places but this was the worst ever as far as breakfast goes. Talking to other guests they were saying the same. "Sorry."
Review 60:My first three days there on my own Jovie Domingo made me feel so at home nothing was too much trouble what a wonderful asset she is on the 19th floor. I would like Jovie to receive a special mention for the effort she puts in to make the people feel so welcome. On my return the staff at the front desk and also on the 8th floor the lady doing my room was so lovely all the staff are very helpful no complaints regarding any of the staff all lovely.
Review 61:No Jacuzzi and pool was emergency drained due to some leaking, really not their fault.
Review 62:A/c worked and room was quiet. Morning am buffet was very good. Close to the beach within easy walking distance. Nice shower with lots of water pressure. Staff very helpful and guys at valet always smiling and quick to get cast.
Review 63:We had the deluxe superior room with an ocean view. It was not at all what we were expecting. The room size was sufficient but the bathroom layout was very poorly designed. Toilet and shower combo was very tight and we are rather small people. The view was between two hotels so a very narrow view. Heard neighbors toilet every time it was flushed.
Review 64:The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean. The lobby was nice.
Review 65:The first thing the bell service said to us after a long flight was did u pre-paid for the luggages to be brought or carried up to your room!! No "welcome to the Hyatt hotel" or "aloha" greeting at all!! It was very hot & humid at check-up & no water was offered!! Toilet was not cleaned daily, carpet was very dirty, & breakfast was very very boring!!
Review 66:Poor quality and choice at breakfast, hopeless management when it rains at breakfast site. Breakfast really needs an overhaul - simply not good enough for a top end hotel.
Review 67:Convenient location and helpful front desk staff.
Review 68:Tried to check in 10 minutes before the allotted time and was told totake a seat in the lobby, as I purchased the reservation online and sheneeded to ask her boss (what? I don't know) and they would get us.After a half an hour, with the line growing. I stood in line again. Iwas helped by the same front desk clerk who was obviously stressed out,and annoyed that I went back in the line. She quickly processed us andwhen I realized it was a low floor, I asked if it was ocean view, shesaid yes. To add to the aggravation was a very slow elevator. I paid$400 for ocean view and was placed on the fourth floor where our viewwas the lanai of the facing building with a sliver of ocean view betweenthe building. Despite the disappointment, we tried to look at thepositives: the room was nice, clean and decent. This was a staycationfor me and my husband who was celebrating his 61st birthday. I decidedto visit the front desk to see if they could change our room to what Ithought was an appropriate request, given the circumstances. Thankfullythe second front desk clerk was less stressed, pleasant and Akamai. Shewas able to change our room from the 4th to the 15th floor. Ok, so wedidn't have a room facing the ocean. (You had to go out to the sidebalcony to see the ocean) However, we had a beautiful view of DiamondHead. I commend that 2nd clerk who pleasantly took the time to kokua -because of her our stay was a positive memory.
Review 69:The free breakfast. Friendly maids and maintenance people who greeted uswhenever they saw us. The room was clean and comfortable.
Review 70:Expensive. Balcony is too small. Ocean view is really partial and with some distance.
Review 71:Spacious room with a long sofa. Outdoors breakfast with many birds surrounding us. Nice food though not many choices. Good location: close to Waikiki beach.
Review 72:We thought the breakfast was not value for money so if we visited Hawaii again we might look for accommodation without breakfast, especially if this is the standard breakfast provided by hotels in Waikiki. Also the breakfast period didn't last long enough in the day so if you chose to sleep in, you missed out.
Review 73:All staff were very helpful at all times of the day. Our room was always cleaned very well and was very well presented. While the hotel is located at one end of Waikiki beach away from the main shopping area, it is still very well located and shops are within reasonable walking distances. Thank you for helping to make a great holiday.
Review 74:I was upgraded to an ocean view room - which was fantastic and the bed was super comfy! Staff was awesome, and they had a nice breakfast on the pool deck. One block from Waikiki beach and plenty of good eats nearby. The bus station in front made getting around really easy as well.
Review 75:Only two lifts for 19 floors makes moving up and down very slow at peak times (especially when one lift is temporarily out of order!) Swimming pool was very average and not very clean.
Review 76:Very big rooms (deluxe queen room) with plenty of space, good for work and holidaying. Great views: while only a fraction of that is of the ocean the views up the hill are fabulous. Excellent location up near Diamond Head, very clost to beach and shops and a little apart from all the madness!
Review 77:The helpful and friendly staff. I was exhausted and traveling with my elderly mother. One of your employees saw this and helped me carry my luggage to my room.( I don't believe this was her job) Just one act of kindness that I experienced. Thank you
Review 78:Breakfast. It is only free because the hotel has worked out how much people would be prepared to pay for it. Budget in to go get a nice breakfast occasionally, especially if you like freash eggs and not powdered eggs.
Review 79:That I spent very little time at the hotel, and could swimat the beach as the pool is a waste of time.
Review 80:Staff were very cheerful and willing to help and answer questions. Facilities were great and rooms clean and quiet which is what we were looking for. The breakfast range was good and the area was clean. Hotel was close to the beach.
Review 81:Cleaning Lady was horribly rude and demeaning. Breakfast could have been better. Change at least everyday. Eggs were horrible
Review 82:Christopher Checked us in. Very professional and was there to take care of us.
Review 83:Poor breakfast choices, often running out of supplies before breakfast ends and location of breakfast section is run down... Tiny swimming pool. Elevators took ages to arrive...
Review 84:Great sized rooms, comfy and clean. Friendly and helpful staff? Good location.
Review 85:tea and coffee facilities could be upgraded and mini bar included in rooms. no fan in shower/toilet.
Review 86:Great location, clearly recently renovated, solid wifi, good breakfast facility. Room slightly bigger than expected. Room service meals impressed.
Review 87:Hair ball in shower. Not from me since I'm bald and shave my head. Rest of the room was clean. just a disappointment that the shower wasn't cleaned that well.
Review 88:room was nice and roomy. Would have been a perfect room to lounge around if it had a view.
Review 89:liked the more intimate vs. large scale hotel. Just perfect...good location, beautiful lobby area, loved the room...especially the corner sofa. Would definitely return again. Also liked the 24 hr food order....very convenient.
Review 90:food choices were very basic i.e. plastic food heated in microwave plus 3 doormen talking when we arrived and not one of them helped with our luggage
Review 91:location was excellent
Review 92:The hotel is old. Is noisy, even we had a room on 18 floor it was still noisy from the street. The bed was not very clean : some hair on the pillow. Overally for the quality overpriced.
Review 93:We stayed there 1 night. The breakfast was acceptance taking in account that is in the price.
Review 94:1) very slow elevator, should encourage guest on the lower floor to take the poolside stairs down with with additional or added note to your current note plus some signage to help people fine there way My children loved to using the stairs. 2) breakfast needs to have more excitement with additional choices of item an daily layout changes to help keep a fresh new look each morning 3) parking 4) need information on the public transportation, different types an how to use
Review 95:1) breakfast on the deck 2) optional tour desk was very helpful (1st desk man) 3)housekeeping staff 4) front desk staff an beach towels
Review 96:Totally mislead about the view. I booked room with balcony and seaview. It had balcony with view straight into the hotel opposite and the 'seaview' was through a postage stamp size window at the side. The bathroom was old, tiny and grotty. Had to wait ages for lift, often quicker to walk up 17 floors than wait. Breakfast was complete chaos with kids and mess everywhere. Food in the pool. Left and moved to another hotel as so disappointed. Would not recommend.
Review 97:In good location.
Review 98:wouldve preferred two beds as I was travelling with my adult daughter who would've liked her own bed . She had a pull out single bed which was just ok That was the only thing that we didn't particularly like .
Review 99:Very friendly staff and great location felt like home . Transport was good and plenty of things to do.
Review 100:The lifts in the deluxe tower were insufficient for the number of rooms and guests. This resulted in long waits at times. They do need to address this.
Review 101:The staff were extremely helpful, nothing was a problem. Gave us a free room upgrade to deluxe which was far superior to a standard room. Late check out and a hospitality room available to us at no charge. Great views. Comfortable bed and impressive complimentary breakfast.
Review 102:Me and my bestfriend stayed here for a night and it was simplyamazing! No request was too hard. We checked out the next day andasked them if they could hold our bags because our flight wasn'ttill later that night. The replied so nicely and with a smile saying"ofcourse" later that afternoon we were burnt and felt likewe need a shower cause we were in the sun all day and was swimming sowe told them our situation and they gave us a room to refresh andhave a shower
Review 103:Way too many guests for the facility, only 2 elevators with long waits. Staff used them as well with cleaning carts. Long, long, long, lines at breakfast buffet (20 minute wait at 6:30am). No wifi at pool. Expensive at $283 per night
Review 104:Friendly staff, beds, spacious room, and good location.
Review 105:Broken down lifts - having to walk up 14 flights of stairs - Free breakfast was ok, not a huge selection, need more staff on reception Small swimming pool by breakfast area, small bathroom
Review 106:Good view, top floor is relatively quiet, Location is good. Beds comfortable. Clean hotel
Review 107:Breakfast needs healthier food: REAL eggs (rather than rubbery patties), greenery (spinach, salad items), soy milk, and vegetarian. Room was on mezzanine which was disappointingly low with no view - a let down since the room is very expensive.
Review 108:Clean hotel, fast wifi, lots of breakfast food, free weights and cardio equipment in gym is great, friendly reception staff. Cleaners are so friendly too and always say "Aloha!"
Review 109:Didn't clean my room for three days. slow housekeeping !
Review 110:The location o is amazing - 5 minutes from everywhere. The bus station is outside of the hotel.
Review 111:Elevators are slow.In hotel restaurant's prices are astronomical. ($9 for a tiny cup of chilli!) Breakfast is too repetitive. Fruit: no bananas or papaya. Just pineapple and SOME melon.
Review 112:Location. Room size and amenities.
Review 113:We had a late flight at night and the friendly staff held our bags for us after check out and also gave us a room to shower in before we left for our flight.
Review 114:If there was any it was proffesionly handled thanks
Review 115:True kindness and staff goes beyond the call duty to make our stay injoyable and comfortable we wish you the very best we'll be back
Review 116:we were in hurry, we had to sign up for the marathon,..i had to use the bathroom really quick..and there was a dried urine drop on the toilet seat ;o(( and hair on the floor... we were traveling along with friends..and i didn't want to ruin my weekend,..but i wouldnt stay there again..the carpets on the hallway werent clean either...and the room was super noise (we were "only" on the 8th floor
Review 117:staff was friendly
Review 118:Elevators are terrible, they do not stop when called and we almost lost our taxi to the airport. The two elevators are not enough for the hotel capacity. Breakfast was disgusting!
Review 119:The hotel has a good location.
Review 120:Only two lifts available for 20 floors, lifts are slow and waitting time for the lift is the issue. Breakfest limited selection of breads, not availability of chease, salami, smoked salmon or ham. Shortage of staff at the lobby bar during the evening.
Review 121:Location of the hotel, freandly and helpfull staff
Review 122:Pool hours were not convenient.
Review 123:The king size bed was very comfortable. Shower hot water was warm and fast. There were lots of outlets you can plug in. Breakfast was very good.
Review 124:Staff was very accomodating, but there were times when no one was available. The breakfast was definitely understaffed. The buffet was not stocked with everything needed, most of the tables and the floor around all the tables were not clean.
Review 125:We wanted to stay in the other Hyatt across the street from Waikiki. Our mistake, but they did not let us out of the reservation at all. This was a major bummer because the rooms here are *very* small and old. This place is too expensive for what you get.
Review 126:Staff was very friendly. Hotel was kept in generally clean condition.
Review 127:the breakfast, I didn't like the toasts with the scrambled eggs. It was chaotic. When I asked reception for bus directions I was referred to the concierge who was mainly interested in selling tours rather than other transport offers.
Review 128:Modern, clean, beach towels easily available, friendly staff. They were flexible in changing our tours due to my husbands illness.
Review 129:The breakfast was basic continental cafeteria style. Cooked was manufactured and no meat. No hot tub
Review 130:wifi, location to transport, very nice staff, nicely appointed rooms
Review 131:hot items for breakfast can use improvement or just stick to basics with scrambled eggs than the other special egg combinations attempted
Review 132:Breakfast is extremely convenient Place is clean Location is convenient
Review 133:These are just two minor concerns: The elevators were quite slow most of the time, and the outdoor setting for breakfast could be problematic if the weather isn't nice (it was OK while we were there).
Review 134:Everything was just about perfect with this stay. We liked being on a high enough floor facing away from the street so we didn't lose sleep due to road noise. The room was spacious, the view from the balcony included Diamond Head, and the TV, WiFi, and wake up call worked well. We enjoyed all the options at breakfast, and didn't have to walk more than 3 min. to get to the beach and a nice place for dinner (the Tiki Grill). Staff were all very professional and friendly. This was the best of the 6 hotels where we have stayed in Waikiki, and we would definitely return.
Review 135:The breakfast is too simple. Wifi was not good enough. I could not use Samsung cellphone to access my weixin well.
Review 136:The staff were friendly, and very helpful. The location is good. The room is clean.
