Reviews for Hotel Real Oeiras

Review 1:The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, nearest restaurant is (according to Google Maps) 30 minute away walking (I did not actually try to walk there).Taxis are reasonably priced, but still, it kinda bothered me.

Review 2:Beatiful rooms, clean, nice, reasonably quiet.

Review 3:Location for us was great, because we had car. With car you can reach Lisbon in 15min. Also Sintra is about 30min with car. Without car there is nothing much to do around. Hotel restaurant was good, we enjoyed food. Breakfast is worth the price also. Room was cleaned every day.

Review 4:Pillows were thin and weak

Review 5:The staff was courteous and efficient, very nice breakfast, rooms well appointed, and very strong Wi-fi. Not too far outside the city and close to Sintra and the coast.

Review 6:Perhaps the location was a little far out from the nearest train station without a car and a bus transport system which doesn't really run late enough at night.(we are fast walkers and it took just over 30 minutes at pace mostly down hill to the nearest train station) although my partner didn't mind it. No kettle in room. Staff we found useless on telling us about the local public transport in the area, they don't seem to have any idea and how long it takes to get to places from the hotel. No tourist brochures and no bus maps in the hotel. We eat mainly cereals for breakfast and the choice on offer was terrible so we ended up buying our own from the supermarket and having them instead of what was on offer. We asked about how to get to Sintra and was told without a car it was really difficult and we would have to take a taxi which would have cost a small fortune. They almost put us off going to Sintra. However use Scotturb bus from Oerias and it is quite easy and reasonable.

Review 7:Rooms were kept clean by room staff. Some staff were very polite and friendly especially evening staff. Hotel seemed to be in a nice area but it is up quite steep roads if you decide to walk back at night which we did. Overall we enjoyed our stay but have decided we would stay nearer to the towns with better public transport in the future. Taxi cost is 5 euro one way from Caxias although in the end we found Parco to be the nearest to the hotel.

Review 8:corridors smelt bad reception staff unsmiling giving the impression of being unapproable

Review 9:Location perfect for me balcony with view quiet tea & coffee available in lobby near swimming pool

Review 10:swimming pool tank in front of the restaurant... No privacy at all Far from everywhere, only good with rented car

Review 11:Bed and pillows. Bast sleep I have ever had in a hotel Brakfast very good

Review 12:the outside pool is useless. Cold as the ocean, and always shady, windy, btw it is not a problem if you leaving in the morning and returning after 9 as we did.

Review 13:location is great, but we had a rental car, so it was an easy access to get Lisbon and the beaches in Oeiras, Estoril, Cascais or Sintra area. Staff is great, breakfast is ok, a bit boring after the third day. Wifi is excellent, parking is good, no need to use the hotel's underground parking. Room is fine, a bit hard matrace. Bathroom has shower and bathtub as well. Minibar in the room and enough big to use for your purpose (water, beer, etc) We ate dinner at once in the hotel restaurant that was good.

Review 14:The staff are very professional and find solutions to various client requests. Also, it was a very friendly service, which I think fits very well with a high standard of the hotel. It was a very nice touch to leave a note of good wishes and a treat on my birthday. Thanks for this.

Review 15:The breakfast was continental which isn't my preference, I'm more of a full English bloke, and the sausages and bacon were fatty.

Review 16:Nice quiet location, being a 25 minute walk for the train station or a €5 euro taxi journey. Oeiras is a 20 minute train journey from Cascais and Lisbon (both in opposite directions) with several nice beaches nearby to make this affordable hotel a great stop.

Review 17:The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were hard.

Review 18:The location of the hotel for the music event at the local football ground, which was a ten minute drive away. Parking was easy, just outside the hotel.

Review 19:The room was facing the pool and when sitting on the varanda, there was no privacy and consequently everyone at poolside could see straight through to the room. The pool was also very noisy (i requested a quiet smoking room on the top floor which i did not receive). The heater in the room did not work. it is incredibly windy in this region which does not allow for pleasant times on the varanda.

Review 20:hygiene, comfort, facilities, value for money, food (restaurant & room service), mini-bar temperature was perfect, the bath tub was excelent.

Review 21:Loved everything about the hotel, me and my boyfriend whenever we come to Portugal we always stay at this hotel, and would definitely recommend it for everyone regardless their age.

Review 22:even having 40 TV chanels it was not possible to have a German speaking one on the second day. Especially for kids a difficult situation.

Review 23:Friendly Service, Flexibility on the day of our departure, when we could stay until 1.30 pm in our rooms

Review 24:There nothing to be mentioned

Review 25:We had a good stay at Real Oeiras, we had 2 rooms next to each other. It served the purpose that we wanted. I will be looking to go back

Review 26:Amazing how Booking.com sells a Family Room for 4 people stating thatthe two rooms are adjacent but no connecting door. If we need aFamily Room for 4 people is because we want to be all together, specially when we travel with small kids… otherwise we simply book 2rooms !!! The Family Rooms are only available at boking.com and notin the hotel website.

Review 27:We came in september with a group of 17 poeple, including 7 poeple in wheelchair. The staff was very helpfull and nice, the food was good, the rooms were clean. We had a perfect stay over there.

Review 28:the mattress is too hard

Review 29:Very nice place. Perfect comfortable bathroom. Room service works till 11pm. There is a very good restaurant and a cafe in 3 min.

Review 30:Disappointed with the pool location as with all the surrounding buildings was not possible to sunbath...no direct sun whatsoever!

Review 31:Facilities are good and kept clean.

Review 32:Less than average breakfast for a 4* hotel, not so obvious location of dishes, cups, etc., broken coffee machine. Staff in breakfast seemed a bit disorganized and not controlling the situation.

Review 33:Location for my work destination, space, cleanliness, staff, good parking (free for business travelers). My room was a suite with a separate living room. I am almost sure that it was an upgrade and I really liked it! In any case, I think staff could have told me about the upgrade, as it would make me aware of their effort to make me a happier guest.

Review 34:Nothing

Review 35:The whole experience was to our liking. Staff welcoming and helpful, breakfast was the best for non vegetarians and if there wasn't anything you liked they would go out of their way to accommodate your request. Portugal on the whole need to cater more for vegetarians.

Review 36:difficult to commute unless you have a car or use taxis

Review 37:great customer service, delicious food, comfortable and pleasant rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Book early to grab yourself a bargain

Review 38:Great place, clean, tidy, TV, ac, dryer, pool, garden, awesome food. Really a good place to stay and within price range. A little far from center of city. 20-25 mins walking to metro statio and then about 10-15 minutes (couple of stops) to get to city. Not a big deal for what you come to at end of the day.

Review 39:Air conditioning in room never really seemed to work, even after several mentions to reception,They said there was a problem, but in the rest of the hotel it was efficient. Breakfast was disapointing I had to ask several times for the dishes to be refilled, which I thought the restaurant manager would have done.

Review 40:Uncomfortable bed, noisy, hair on bathroom floor

Review 41:Good price, good wifi

Review 42:Breakfast, bath, comfortable beds, location and view, reception

Review 43:Only there 2 nights but ate there both nights, excellent service and food. Staff went out of their way to make it enjoyable.

Review 44:A bit far from facilities unless you hire a car

Review 45:Everyting.

Review 46:Da vista do hotel.

Review 47:Friendly Staff ,well organized and confortable

Review 48:Location and public transport facilities

Review 49:Staff were nice and helpful. Clean hotel

Review 50:The food was very bad quality. I would not recommend eating here.

Review 51:The WiFi needs serious improvements.

Review 52:Staff is amazingly professional and so friendly. Whatever the situation they always find a solution.

Review 53:Cold swimming pool.far from beach or station

Review 54:Friends and helpful staff, good food

Review 55:El comfort general. La piscina.

Review 56:Nothing to mention.

Review 57:Comfort, quiteness, breakfast, etc.

Review 58:very small and uncomfortable bed.

Review 59:exellent food in restaurant

Review 60:Nada a referir

Review 61:Pequeno almoço

Review 62:The lack of a cosy bar

Review 63:The vieuw from our room to the bridge over the Tagus river

Review 64:The WiFi can improve.

Review 65:- Welcoming -Parking facilities -Cleanness

Review 66:The card system for the lift didn't always work.

Review 67:The Room

Review 68:Quiet, comfortable, excellent breakfast and super nice staff.

Review 69:The mattresses on the beds were a bit hard.

Review 70:Staff were helpful, food was very good, room and hotel were clean

Review 71:We booked a room for 4 (2 adults, 2 children). During the reservation process it was always mentioned room for 4, but in the small notes it was written it would be 2 rooms. At arrival we discovered they were 2 rooms but without communication door.

Review 72:There should be more brochures and local maps available for tourists who are not familiar with the area

Review 73:Like most places nowadays you need a GPS to get to your location. This hotel delivered on all items as advertised and we were very satisfied with our 3day stay and would be happy to return there again. We recommend it.

Review 74:The bed was extremely noisy every time you move and mattress was quite uncomfortable. Location not very easy to access unless you know the area.

Review 75:Quiet area, overall good price for the facilities with only exception the bed and the AC.

Review 76:Breakfast was one of the worst I have seen for years. Low quality produce and not even enough of it, with hungry guests grabbing the meagre portions coming out of the kitchen as if they were desperate for food. I had to leave without being able to eat anything but an apple. Poor show!

Review 77:Good location for accessing business and industrial areas in that part of Lisbon. Near main roads with quick connection to other areas.

Review 78:Roads changed a lot recently around that place, you'll need a gpswith up-to-date maps to comfortably reach the hotel, and to travelaround. Mine had 2010 maps on it, we had quite a few frustrating momentstrying to get back at night..The mattress is on the hard side, but this seems to be typical for Portugal.

Review 79:Excellent value for the money. Perfect location to explore (by car)Sintra, Belem, Cascais and other places in Lisbon area. Very goodbreakfast. Were always able to find free parking next to the hotel. Fiveminute drive to a large shopping mall.

Review 80:No wireless available in the room only cable. wireless available only in the lobby.

Review 81:The room was very nice very large. Had a fridge. Very clean and no noise. In a location outside the city but you need a car to get to train station to go to the city if not going to be difficult. The gym is not so good. We stayed for 4 nights and for 3 of those nights the restaurant had all you can eat for 12 euro each and the food is amazing alot of food and desert is excellent i would recomend this. The restaurant staff are very friendly. The breakfast we didnt get but i am sure its just as good as the dinner. Parking is free outside but you have to pay underground 4 euro a day.Large flatscreen tv in the bedroom had good channels for movies.

Review 82:Difficult to find and well off the beaten track.

Review 83:Great stopover hotel. Clean, good rooms, good breakfast, and even a swimming pool. Fantastic value for money.

Review 84:Difficult to find - but that was probably the navigator's fault!

Review 85:Excellent value. he buffet option in the evening gave us the opportunity to try a range og Portuguese dishes

Review 86:Oeiras is often very windy so the outdoor pool is then irrelevant! It is also quite a long way from the centre of Lisbon if that is important to you.

Review 87:We stay in this hotel every year and booking early with booking.com gives a very good rate. The breakfast buffet includes hot and cold food and the rooms are always clean and comfortable.

Review 88:We were particularly impressed with the service from hotel staff. The young lady working in the restaurant was outstanding. Extremely helpful and went out of her way.

Review 89:Bed a bit hard and locationa bit out of the way however taxi's very cheap.

Review 90:Quiet, good pool ,grass area ,friendly helpful staff, reasonable charges, nice gym good breakfast.

Review 91:a complementary bottle of water - costs 20 cents even less for 1.5litres.......it's so little to give free of charge and so important to have drinking water!! it really is a disappointment to see such lack of consideration for the price of the room... hotels in portugal are far more expensive and of inferior quality to spain for instance......in general i'm disappointed with most portuguese hotel standards. i also think there should be a smoking area on the inside rather than be treated with little dignity having to go outside where it was cold and wet. there were plenty of unused space in the most busy season and it was such a waste. no in-house entertainment. not even a lounge bar to sit and relax...only the restaurant area.........basically there was plenty of room for improvement if these prices are charged. i'm not entirely shure why it is given a 4 star rating?

Review 92:1. Pool is in shadow till midday and after 17:00. It is very cold - in July! It is possible to enjoy using it only in the evening - but then it is closed (20:00) 2. Hotel was full of juniors' sport teams - different people in all 3 nights - it was very noisy and breakfast was not refilled after these sport teams eated... And they eat a lot ... 3. Hotel is only for those who has cars - it is very complicated to reach Lisbon on public transport

Review 93:1. Very cheap self service gasoline station nearby 2. Very friendly staff 3. Hotel provide towels for swiming pool. 4. Big & clean rooms

Review 94:You definitely need a car if you want to see Lisbon. The location is quite good to go to the city and its surroundings, but you must have a car.

Review 95:The staff were all very friendly, and the swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was really good.

Review 96:It needs more informations, because the hotel is not easy to findin the city

Review 97:The location is beautiful with swimming pool and breakfast is very good.

Review 98:Although we were in the hotel in the night of our wedding, in the morning we arrived at the breakfast room near the end time and the staff was really unfriendly, always pressing us to eat fast.

Review 99:The room was very confortable with a open view. Good looking hotel.

Review 100:The perfect hotel for anyone with wheels. It is located a fair bit outside of Lisbon, yet ideal to visit Cascais, Sintra, Cabo da Roca. My room was comfortable and the breakfast was very nice. To room rate was very attractive, if I am back in the area I will stay here again.

Review 101:Location a little bit too far from restaurants and shopping

Review 102:The staff were very friendly and serviceminded - the rooms good size and the cleaning perfect - breakfast and dinner very tasty - I was travelling with a Group of 25 people and everyone enjoyed their stay very much

Review 103:Location is in the middle of a residential area. No restaurants in the area unless you drive or take a taxi. Also, Internet available in the rooms via cable connection only. WiFi is only available in the lobby/restaurant area. Shuttle to business parks is very small (5 people capacity) and fills up quickly, thus cannot service all guests who want to use it. Both issues are not what one expects from a hotel that wants to have mainly business people coming to the near by business parks

Review 104:Staff were great and very helpful. Shuttle to business parks in the morning

Review 105:The room soundproofing was not perfect, but pretty acceptable, anyway.

Review 106:A pleasant location out of the center of Lisbon, with free and easy parking outside. The staff was very helpful.

Review 107:Only 1 small bar which is located in the restaurant which isn't great if you just want a drink. Had 2 single beds, would have preferred a double.

Review 108:Great value, good breakfast buffet, clean room, friendly staff.

Review 109:Old fittings do not reflect the contemporary expectations from a hotel. The matresses are very hard to lie on.

Review 110:Big sized and absolutely clean rooms.

Review 111:The beds and mattrasses were among of the most uncomfortable and noisy we had ever experienced, more the quality of a cheap hostel than a 4 stars. On top of that, the first night we were given the smallest room room of the floor (rooms ending with 15 on each floor), which would be normally sold as "double for single use" and whose bed in fact couldn't even be classed as a double. The next morning we were moved to a proper double room after complaining. We choosed the location to be close both to Lisbon and the coast, but the hotel is actually located in an apparently failed project of new residential area, maybe because of the credit crunch: all the other buildings around on this hill are unfinished or empty, without a car you'd be in the middle of nowhere. People dealing with breakfast are a bit slow, one morning pastries were only available 45 minutes after opening.

Review 112:Nice pool, provided it's not packed with children jumping in and out of it. Staff at the reception was friendly.

Review 113:Hotel was clean, room comfortableand the breakfast was good, but the staff were not very friendly particularly in the restaurant. Hotel is situated in a residential area / business park and is only a few minutes from the motorway. Excellent location for visiting Lisbon, Sintra and the Estoril coastline ( all within 20-25 mins ) with a car.

Review 114:The family room is not really a family room most of the time, but 2 adjacent doubles. Although this is stated in the booking site we don't really read the small letters and assume that booking a family room is one room. The staff took care of this very quickly.

Review 115:I really enjoyed the staff that were really nice and very professional. Quite above average. The value for money of the hotel is also great.

Review 116:There are no family rooms as such (which was important for us with a young family) - they offer 2 rooms either next to each other or in front of each other (no connecting door). keep that in mind.

Review 117:Friendly Staff - slightly misleading info about 'family' accommodation. But the staff tried to help out and finally our stay ended up being very nice (They managed to get us a largish room with an extra bed instead of 2 rooms in front of each other without a connecting door). With a 5 and 7 year old, it would not have been possible to stay in 2 rooms opposite each other (or next to each other) without a connecting door. Good location - easy access to Sintra, Cascais, Estoril, Lisbon (we had a car and drives to all these places were short) Parking - the hotel has a covered parking for 4 Euros - but there is also sufficient free parking around. Breakfast spread is very good and the expresso excellent. There is a small restaurant within a very short walking distance which serves excellent food in a great ambience and the staff are wonderful.

Review 118:The location, not within walking distance of anything you require a car to go anywhere.

Review 119:The food was great, hotel was quiet, very clean and staff very helpful.

Review 120:I can't believe that a busy city hotel stops room service and closes thebar at 23.30. There were people back from the concert dying to get adrink/snack. The bar staff were very helpful and arranged a bottle ofwine for us in their own time.

Review 121:All round clean, comfortable hotel. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Review 122:The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Weight room needs an universalweight systems for others who are into more than cardio.

Review 123:Very clean!!! And customer friendly.

Review 124:carpets need replacing

Review 125:Great location with great view. Excellent value

Review 126:Breakfast was poor, same each day. Hire car essential, as hotel on top of a steep hill with no local shops etc

Review 127:Modern facilities

Review 128:Breakfast was minimal, clearly trying to save money. Closer to 3 star than 4.

Review 129:Efficient and friendly.

Review 130:I prefer duvet over blanket on bed in the winter

The Fine Print
