Reviews for Pagoda Hotel

Review 1:AC too loud for comfort...but needed.

Review 2:Resturant staff friendly, cheerful and very helpful even during the peak and busiest time of breakfast buffett. Ambience serene and the Pagoda's itself, miniture waterfall, and koi's eases the busy pace of customers.

Review 3:No free parking,$10 per day

Review 4:The enviroment is very good, and the staff is so kind.Additionally,it's quite near the supermarket and shopping center,it cost only$8.9 to the downtown by cab

Review 5:I reported a missing bag containing a wedding gift for my granddaughter. The gift is very, very important to me but was handled ...I think...nonchalantly.

Review 6:The location is excellent as it is within reach with businesses and within walking distance.

Review 7:Bathtub and sink were probably abit old but I had no problems using them. Also there were only 2 washing machines and dryers for the whole hotel.

Review 8:Very friendly staff and very helpful. Allowed us to check in at 12md since the room was ready. Hotel was in ideal location for shopping as it was within walking distance to Ala Moana, WalMart and Ross. Hotel also provided free shuttle to Waikiki.

Review 9:I stayed on the 6th floor and outside the elevator was a bench seat from a van, coolers, cases of water, boxes blocked and congested... there was a bad smell right in that area!

Review 10:Beds were comfortable and maid was very tidy and she did a good job...the electric car charging station was handy

Review 11:Need to change the old air-conditioner in my room (floor 11) because it was very noisy and I think, inefficient.

Review 12:Privacy, considerate and polite cleaners who did their with as little fuss as possible. My room was beautifully cleaned and I will recommend it unreservedly.

Review 13:A/C unit leaked in the room. the shower head was rusty and the pipes were showing!

Review 14:great location and wifi included is alaways a plus. the staff and Customer Service is amazing

Review 15:The room doors slam so hard and noisy.....tried holding it but still the same

Review 16:The restaurants around the area are plentiful ...free newspaper, free video rental and 10% discount at the floating restaurant

Review 17:The bathtub was cracked and chipped and there was no grab bar. There was no shade/fixture over the bathroom light and the plaster was cracked around it. There was no fan in the bathroom, and that's just not good. The pillows were too fat. Both my friend and I got stiff necks (we're small people). Fluffy pillows are good for futons, but please offer one skinny pillow for actually sleeping on!

Review 18:The location is superior to me. Right between Don Quixote and Walmart with Ala Moana a few blocks away. My family lives on Rycroft St., as well

Review 19:4 times I had no hot water to shower, water was shut off once, trash man comes so early you can't sleep in. rented videos that didn't work. Termites flying all over the bathroom?

Review 20:close to stores

Review 21:Hotel is a bit old but they are presently rennovating which is good.

Review 22:Just opposite to Ross, Walmart & Sam's. Walking distance to Ala Moana Mall. There are lots of good Korean & Japanese restaurants nearby.

Review 23:Additional charge was compulsory and didn't provide much except for dvds

Review 24:Bed and room much better than would think from the outside. Free DVD rental worked very well.

Review 25:The hotel was under construction but hopefully next time the loby will be done and well worth the inconvenience this time:-)

Review 26:The bed was very good and clean. The room was very clean and TV was great.

Review 27:We were charged three times for a resort fee; once by bookings.com and twice at the reception. I paid it at the front desk not knowing that my husband had also been charged when he checked in. Come on guys, really?

Review 28:The bed was super comfortable, and the kitchenette was clean and well equipped with two refrigerators.

Review 29:Wi Fi was very poor! Some days non existent! So frustrating! Not good enough in this day and age.

Review 30:The extra wash basin was handy.the maid service was very good.

Review 31:I have stayed in better rooms at the pagoda, although the one on the ninth floor was OK, it was not as new as the photos depict-otherwise everything else was good.

Review 32:pagoda has always been my first choice of stay when coming to Honolulu because of its location and affordability.

Review 33:The hotel was centrally located, near stores and yet not in a busy, busy area. Everything was clean. They held our luggage while we went on an all-day tour of Pearl Harbor the day we were supposed to leave to go back to the US.

Review 34:We only stayed 2days we wish we could have stayed longer but we need to go back home and to work.

Review 35:We love the location of the Pagoda Hotel. It's close to many shopping areas.

Review 36:That your web sight did not have our reservations there @ check in. But staff helped find a unit. Not enough time to look @ the fish. My baby love fish!

Review 37:Very accommodating and friendly Staff. That our fat asses could fit on a King size bed with our baby. Easy and affordable parking.

Review 38:Very poor menu at dinner with poor presentation. We only found one meal which we enjoyed, which was the salmon.

Review 39:Good location Easy to get to places of interest. Very good breakfast Comfortable room.

Review 40:The hotel is quite old. Facilities, comfort and cleanness are so-so. Pagoda hotel is a good choice if you only look for a place to sleep. But if you plan to spend some time enjoying the hotel, I would suggest to look for other choices.

Review 41:The location of the hotel is excellent (this was my main reason for choosing Pagoda Hotel). Staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Review 42:The outside of the hotel, eg corridors were not very clean and didn't smell very good. Was woken up in the morning with noisy work going on outside. No wifi in the room as advertised. The microwave was dirty (inside top).

Review 43:The hotel room was spacious, cool and clean. It was in a quiet neighbourhood.

Review 44:We didn't like the fact that the Pagoda advertised wifi access and although my computer asked me to connect to wifi in the Pagoda Lobby, wifi didn't exist. I missed a very important business skype session due to this. Waited a long time for room to be ready and had to become angry before the room was allocated.

Review 45:Liked the location and value for money.

Review 46:Homeless people everywhere . . . but that's not the Pagoda's fault, they're everywhere in Hawaii.

Review 47:What was not to like? Very clean, great staff, good security, close to shopping and bus routes, and it's in Hawaii!!! Loved our stay there and will definitely be back.

Review 48:Pool hours were not long enough.

Review 49:We loved that it had a kitchen. We caught fish and were able to eat it and saved money by being able to have groceries and other food.

Review 50:curtains didn't block out street lights noisy with passing traffic wire/metal entry doors to section of hotel dodgy looking people in other rooms close by

Review 51:near walmart for breakfast items before catching plane that morning

Review 52:Garbage pickup trucks with their crashing/banging prior to 6:00AM almost every morning! Also, the 'beep, beep.beep' of their back-up/reversing buzzer; very annoying. In talking to one of the security staff, he informed me they wer enot supposed to be there before 8AM any morning, . .but there they were!

Review 53:The friendliness of the staff, including the cleaning staff who cleaned my room. The layout of the restaurant, and the friendliness of the restaurant staff! And their desserts are awesome!

Review 54:The hotel is a little bit dated...

Review 55:Extreme friendly staff at the desk... Very helpful, kind, welcoming and eager to help.

Review 56:The shower wasn't as clean as I would have preferred.

Review 57:The location was very ideal. We were surrounded by stores and restaurants very nearby.

Review 58:The walls are very thin and we were unlucky to have noisy neighbors. We could hear their voices and TV well into the night.

Review 59:Street noise due to the bad window insulation. Suggested a replacement with more hermetic windows and it'll be perfect

Review 60:Great location

Review 126:Room rates changes daily.

Review 127:Great location. Close to shopping/food and beach

Review 128:Every thing

Review 129:Your check in clerk treats you like you're another inferior being not fit for a Hotel in Waikiki; attitude of do not ask any questions, simply initial where I tell you. Then going up to the room, the hallway smelled bad, nauseating, have to hold your breath until you get into your room. The room has an old smell but you get accustomed and fair after a few minutes. the window AC seem new but noisy to be able to get any peaceful sleep. Your stinking hall way and the AC noice makes me not want to stay there again. It reminds me of Uncle Billy's in Hilo stinky's stale sweat smell. Pagoda has that and a sort of vomit smell too and beats out in Uncle Billy's in terms of smell. Your manager (I think Paul?) on Wed. June 18 and he sounded unaware claiming shampoo work every two months. If that is the case, you need to get new carpet cleaners and manager. It was disappointing to check in and find your access to your room smelly, abnoxious and sort of stuck.

Review 130:I am local and had my house tented for termites; took the well known Pagoda name and it provided a fair price.

Review 131:I arrived at10.30 pm. I enquired as to leaving a suitcase in storage... I was told no facilities of this nature were available...next morning I enquire again as the website states luggage storage available... Carlos is serving me and puts both in for the day with me to collet one that night for when I go to the big island. All pictures on the web display accommodation as being in the tower. The room that I had booked was no longer available so I was given a 'free' upgrade to a family room. This room was across and down the street.I had toclug 2 masave suitcases and a backpack down and over the road. It was raining and late at night with poor lighting. Not impressed at all. Once in the room I found it very clean bhg on close inspection found that the queen bed had ants crawling over it...as well as in the bathroom. Having traveled 12 hours to get there and had little sleep there was no energy left to complain let alone move rooms. sticking it out I took a shower.... Placed it on just warm only to find that every 2 minutes or so would spitbout boiling hot water burning me and then spit out cold water.... A very short shower indeed. For the price I didn't expect to have to cross a cross and walk down it in the middle of the night and get wet let alone have to sleep with ants or put up with a shower that can't decide whether its going to cook you or freeze you. I will be sending through a complaint.

Review 132:Carlos at Reception was a huge help. He was very accommodating in putting my luggage on hold for a few days whilst I took off to the big island and sis what he could to help in general. Carlos was Pagoda's saving grace.

Review 133:Parking is extra and inconvenient. They charged me more than expected. The check in process and security deposit gave me the feeling that they are used to a different sort of "customer". The shower, though pretty clean, varied from cold to scalding constantly...be careful.
