Reviews for The LINE Hotel

Review 1:Lighting in the bathroom could be better, it's a little hard to do make up in front of the mirror.

Review 2:Style, location, service, the cafe... just about everything.

Review 3:The rooms are small and unfinished concrete walls. Looks hip but not really. The concrete hallways seem more like a prison then a hotel. The floor to ceiling windows are poor and noise easily travels through them. Our room was facing Wilshire Blvd and the street and vehicle noise on the tenth floor was as if the was no window at all.

Review 4:Terrific staff

Review 5:My experience in the Commisary restaurant was very disappointing. I was there for lunch on Xmas day with a friend and the food was poor with reluctant unwelcoming service.

Review 6:General design of the hotel and rooms.

Review 7:The noise on Friday and Saturday night and the crowds.

Review 8:I liked the great shower. The restaurants were all good. Staff were all pleasant. It's got an edgy decor and it is well located.

Review 9:Staff attitude was below expectations. Getting room service took ages and location of washbasin in the room instead of in the toilet is not ideal.

Review 10:Location was ideal, a bit removed from the tourists centre.

Review 11:The valet and parking in the area was expensive. Also there were a few stains in the carpet. Wasn't much of a room service menu.

Review 12:The hotel was very modern. The staff was so nice.

Review 13:The hotel was innovative in design, room decor and services. I loved the modern feel and the attention to comfort. Will certainly return to this hotel.

Review 14:The noise. This place is so noisy! Yoo hear the traffic, the sirens. If you want a quiet room you have to cough up an extra $40 a night on top of the expensive rate I already paid.

Review 15:Close to the metro and central to all the attractions

Review 16:Absolutely not enough soundproofing - could hear tv sound next room, people yelling and screaming at the party down the 2nd floor, sirens andcar horns on the street. Not feeling safe enough - some drunken junkies hung around the hotel building mocked me with his jalapeno, etc. Seems to be a cool place for some young and wealthy people, but exactly opposite to guests who want some good and relaxing rest with reasonable price.

Review 17:Unique, stylized, modernized atmosphere in general. Friendly receptionand guest service staffs

Review 18:I want able to pick a room with a higher up floor. There was a good amount of road noise even from the 5th floor because a rail station was right below on the other side of the street with a lot of street activity. The bed was waaay to soft, I couldn't get comfortable because my back was completely arched downward into the mattress.

Review 19:Restaurant POT did not seem to be open. Limit of number of sockets to work in the lobby, some did not work at all. Perhaps have some work stations for laptops?

Review 20:Original design

Review 21:The hotel charged us twice for the hotel stay and still have not resolved it. Poor follow up from the staff. In addition, they tried to stick us with two beers on our bill and we don't even drink!

Review 22:The hotel is very nice.

Review 23:Unwelcoming feeling coming back to hotel Challenge getting back in hotel on Friday nights, felt like a vagrant instead of a guest. Not enough complimentary extras to go with the already very expensive room, ten dollars for water is completely unnecessary.

Review 24:The artistic interior design Breath taking view of city Convenient location in Korea town

Review 25:location

Review 26:fantastic interior design stunning view from the room the Commissary restaurant is just great (food as well as the concept / design) very fast wifi anywhere in the hotel

Review 27:The constant smell of weed in our room from the neighbours, Monday night was super loud with some party going on down the hall.

Review 28:Great location, funky rooms, staff was very helpful

Review 29:The air conditioning pumped a very heavy cigarette smoke smell into the room which was most unpleasant

Review 30:24hr valet access was great. Breakfast delivery was good although slow. Commissary was also a delightful place for a meal and drink.

Review 31:Concrete roomamd corridor wall without any decoration, exposes to be seen and hard to believe It is a strategy to save money of decoration rather than some kind of unique design. Most untorlerable thing is the gap between the door frame and the door caused a weired whistle echoes inside the room during the whole night and day. The insulation is not good as well, pop music sounds and people talks near the hotel could be heard at night, which affects sleeping. If you are not here in Korea Town for business, best not choose.

Review 32:Excellent location for business purpose near Korea Town, or Visa application to Embassy China and Korea. Hotel Staff are so polite and tender that I was knocked 5 times by different staff within half day.

Review 33:The room is small, and face to the street, noisy at night, can't get a well sleep. Even worse, I can sure I forget two pairs of glasses in one box and an mini iPad in the room after check out, the way to airport called several times to loss prevention department , no quick response immediately and still checking after 2 days and tell me nothing be found, that is not acceptable!!

Review 34:The location is in Korean town, sourcing food is. Very convenient.

Review 35:Temperature control in the room, location is so-so for dining. It's Koreatown, therefore the restaurant variety is limited.

Review 36:Slick design, stimulating atmosphere, enjoyed interacting with the hotel's personnel.

Review 37:The gym is a little small and poorly equipped for a hotel in this class/quality level. What equipment is there is nice, new, and clean; the tiny space makes it feel cramped. No real stretching area and no yoga mats/stretching mats either.

Review 38:Gorgeous rooms, wonderful views from upper floors, cool electric blinds. Though not really in the business travel market, rooms are very well configured for the business traveler.

Review 39:I thought the pool was a little larger/longer, to do lap swimming, but on the other hand a short pool is better than no pool.

Review 40:The hotel shop was very nice curated and the location of the hotel was very nice.

Review 41:Nothing really, would definitely stay here again

Review 42:Cleanliness, location (close to the subway), safe area, polite and helpful staff, great view from room (make sure to book a room with a mountain view)

Review 43:My room was on the street side and the noise of the traffic was pretty loud. I got used to it, though.

Review 44:The hotel rooms were as trendy and colorful in reality as they were on the pictures on the website. That gave a pleasant, luxury touch to my stay in LA.

Review 45:The rooms are quite noisy/not well protected from street level noise. Great for one person; or two tidy people, but rooms too small for more than that.

Review 46:Interesting design; reachable by metro; in the middle of Koreatown and lots of cheap and good places to eat. Pleasant pool and terrace.

Review 47:the a/c was warm not cold and we changed our room but the same problem they bring us a fan just to make it better the room temperature was between 75 to 72 and it not going lower than that with the fan it goes to 70

Review 48:the hotel style , the area , near to the city

Review 49:The street noise is just unbearable. Avoid city view rooms if you wantto sleep! Ground floor bar is like a night club, nowhere to go for aquiet drink. Whole place aimed at very young, very trendy people! Muchnicer bar at The Normandie next door. Room was not available until5.30pm. $10 for a bottle of water!??? Please!!

Review 50:Location is great, handy for la attractions, also opposite a metrostation. Hotel is clean and modern with great decor/design.Have stayed previously. Only the rooms with Hollywood view areworth considering. Free bikes are a nice touch although they badlyneed serviced!

Review 51:It wasn't really a big deal but rooms are quite small, little space to move around but if you don't have much luggage then it's perfectly alright. The Pot bar can get VERY loud at night. We could hardly communicate with front desk when we checked in. We're just glad we were upgraded to Hollywood Hills view and the noise from the bar downstairs couldn't be heard at all.

Review 52:The Hollywood hills rooms have the best Los Angeles view! Wonderful stay with comfortable beds.

Review 53:I don't mind the noise, but the lobby does turn into a hangout afterwards so you might want to request a higher floor if you do.

Review 54:The staff is really nice, and the make sure your stay is wonderful. I loved the view and the fact that just about everything was walking distance. There is a lot of good food around the area.

Review 55:Check in was a mess. Room was not ready at 3. We had a meeting at 4pm which we had to be ready for. Also, they try to sell strange stuff in the rooms (adult themed items). Found this to be strange and slightly off putting.

Review 56:Nice solid hotel. Great location. Friendly people. Very trendy. Coffee shop in hotel.

Review 57:Until 12 o'clock two days in front of the hotel at night while you sleep three days was not able to sleep the sleep in the first place for the sake of sound construction.

Review 58:The breakfast could have vegan options.

Review 59:The staff was kind and thoughtoful. The hotel is cool and beautiful -- the interior design is really charming. The room is confortable, spacious and it has a really nice view (you can ask for the rooms with Hollywood sign view). We loved the short stay and we definitely would love to go back!

Review 60:the air didn't work in the room when I first got there, but they fixed it right away. It stopped working the morning I checked out as well.

Review 61:Would definitely stay here again, especially for the price. Floor to ceiling windows provided awesome views day & night. Cool, unique design elements in the room and lobby + great food. Was easy to drive/uber to wherever I needed to be from ktown.

Review 62:Our only problem was that the heating system was out in the whole building, but they immediately brought us a portable heater.

Review 63:The staff went the extra mile to please in all areas; front desk, valet and housekeeping. If we had an issue with the room they were quick to resolve it with a smile.

Review 64:1. Slow check-in and inefficient check-out. 2. The cabbage and beef odors brought into the room from restaurant exhaust when the HVAC was on. 3. The too-low unsanitary desk chair (it was sticky from being pulled in and out from the desk) that would be better as a caster chair. 4. The overflowing litter baskets across the street. 5. The inscrutable, unclean, clock radio. 6. The lack of area street maps. 7. The narrow passage around the bed. 8. The cost relative to the size of the room. 9. The single-pane windows that admit all street noise at night.

Review 65:1. Very handy location opposite LA Metro subway and on 720 Rapid bus line. 2. Poketo store and its videos on the TV in the room. 3. The café. 4. The innovative, modern design of the room (exposed concrete, storage units, ceramics, metal wall sculpture). 5. The bronze-finish hardware in the bathroom. 6. The fast Internet connection. 7. The relative quiet of the eleventh floor end room. 8. The view of the Hollywood hills from the room. 9. The bed with its comfortable layers of soft pads. 10. The flattering mirror in the bathroom. 11. The large, fluffy bath towels.

Review 66:The hotel designer choose art form over comfort and function. It lookspretty in photos, but they clearly never actually stayed in one of therooms. The decore of the hotel is modern artsy with lots of exposedconcrete and low end art installations. The standard room was verysmall, minimalist, and had a few nonfunctional artsy furniture pieces(E.G., coffee table with fixed fake books that made it unusable). Ourroom faced west and got the full afternoon sun with a poor excuse for a"blackout curtain". Vampires and night owls beware -you'll meet the true death every morning! Our room temperature was80 degrees when we checked in! We called the front desk and they told usthey'd switch us to a "deluxe" room on the east side foran additional $25/night. We were already paying $250+ per night!!!They blamed us for setting the air wrong and said they'd send theengineer up to check it. Nothing changed. Ever. The coolest our roomever got was 73 degrees, which was in the middle of the night!!! It wasmiserable. Sleeping was not comfortable!!! The room was clearly set upfor only one occupant. The bathroom only offered 1 towel hook (not atowel bar, a peg). You had to climb into the shower to turn it on andget showered with a blast of cold water to start! The sink was1950's height, even at 5 ft tall, I had to bend way down to reachit! The "closet" was teeny tiny and barely fit oneperson's things. Everything in the room was for sale - including theart. Don't even get me started on valet - it always took 20 min ormore to get our car! We won't be back!!!

Review 67:We were excited about staying at The Line. It looked to be very swankyand in the right area of town. We love boutique hotels.

Review 68:Construction outside my window ongoing even with earplugs I mentioned it at the fest seas told I'm in the other end shouldn't be a problem

Review 69:Staff rocks Bar and food rocks location rocks

Review 70:Billed twice; deposit on check in & again checking out. Forced to wait days for refund of deposit. Toilet didn't flush properly. Nearby parking difficult. No jug/tea making in room.

Review 71:Location, comfort, nice room

Review 72:Don't be fooled by the rooms...I booked a room that could house 3 people but there were only two beds! Not ideal! Room is a lot smaller than it looks on the pics too...

Review 73:Hotel is amazing...great place to stay with a group of friends! Both restaurants are the lick..highly recommend it!

Review 74:Check-in/ check- out takes awhile. Long line and not super personable at the desk or apologetic for an unusually long wait to check in/out. All guests were looking around unsure of the hold up.

Review 75:Loved the lay out of the room! The guest services manager acknowledged my husband's birthday and sent a gift to our room!

Review 76:The area isn't too good. Not a lot about. Got to have a car to go anywhere really

Review 77:The view from the room was absolutely amazing. The room was clean, modern and very comfortable

Review 78:I don't even know what to start. Staffs were not friendly, in fact very rude. No air conditioning in the room. It stayed at 75 degrees and couldn't control the temperature. We asked the front desk to call a technician but they never fixed it. The bar down stairs was really loud and people were screaming outside. This hotel is just RATCHET. They play music day and night none stop and the room was not sound proof. I could literally here people fighting and screaming outside at 2 in the morning. I would never come back here and I would recommend this hotel to anybody. Not even to a stranger! It is definitely not worth the money. I wish I can travel back time and get my money back. People please be smart and go stay at an actual hotel not a bar-tel.

Review 79:Nice looking amenities

Review 80:There was a drunk yelling in the middle of the night on the hallway which was really disturbing.

Review 81:The staff at the restaurant was really nice and courteous

Review 82:I was prepared for it to be loud, so I asked for a room on a high floor and got the 11th facing Wilshire. I think the windows could use replacing, they could only have been single pane, and that club gets bumping. I could hear people laughing and talking from the street which was quite a surprise. Also- due to the high flow of traffic in and out of the hotel (night club, restaurant, all great things) some sort of security in the elevator to access hotel floors would have been appreciated so that night club guests are not roaming freely.

Review 83:Super funky hotel-- great pool and lounge area, loved Commissary for cocktails around the pool. Room was good, floor to ceiling windows with a great view.

Review 84:You have to be quite ok with a little bit of noise (the hige windows means that you hear what's happening in the streets) and the valet service is quite expensive (but in line with prices in LA...)

Review 85:Spectacular views over Hollywood hills and Los Angeles, incredible design of the rooms with this huge window-wall. It's very difficult to stop starring at the view and start sleeping. The pool is delightfull and the fitness room also very enjoyable. Best place to stay in LA !

Review 86:The best caramal coffee I had . Better then starbucks. Friday lounge turns into nightclub. Awesome. Pricey. But if you have the money do it. Awesome place!

Review 87:The only bad i thing i can tell is tha the wifi didn't had a good reception at the pool and the parking rate ($37 per day) was way too overpriced

Review 88:The Design and the concept of the hotel was excallent

Review 89:No room cleaning : we lived 1 week with same garbage on the floor. Poormaintenance : leaks of fridge signaled never repaired and even a woodframe that fall down on my wife's shoulder ! No apologies nothing.Spend your money in any other la hotel it can only be better !

Review 90:Location is nice only if you like koreatown.

Review 91:Love the indoor garden in commissary, and the there is amazing food nearby from a fruit stand, ample Korean BBQs, taco truck, etc all right there, and of course u can't beat the brutalist concrete interiors!

Review 92:Decor is odd. Concrete walls, Small bathrooms. Expensive for what you get. Quirky dining facilities.

Review 93:Excellent friendly staff from parking lot to front desk. Very hip young vibe in good location. Good facilities. Nice pool.

Review 94:The minibar is very overpriced ($10 for a bottle of water) and theydon't tell you about all the price add-ons (14% tax). Parking is notfree and costs $37 for one night. Staff wasn't very friendly either,I was greeted with a short and cold "credit card and ID?".

Review 95:The line is beautiful, the rooms are very modern and very clean.

Review 96:If you like to hang around Venice or Silverlake is´t a bit to far away. The Line is a haven in the middle of the concrete Korea town.

Review 97:The roof garden restaurant is beautiful, next to the pool. Super great food and drinks. Great designed rooms with good interior display.

Review 98:Our room was located along the Wilshire blvd and I found it quite noisy.

Review 99:The Line is amazing, very nice design, comfortable room, great bar and restaurant. We even attended a yoga class, excellent teacher by the way!

Review 100:Small rooms. Limited amenities provided. Shower tap was broken but not attended to. The handle has completely dislodged from the tap and we have to use this broken tap from 4 days! Low on security. Our account was charged for a lunch bill. Funny enough how the F&B outlet did not check ID before allowing random customers to charge lunch bills to our room account! Staff was new, inexperienced and not much help.

Review 101:Good location- that is the very reason why we chose this place. They have a great GM who made things right after room was not cleaned and made up for a day. So hotel's saving grace is a top notch GM. Had it not been him, I would have rated this place much lower.

Review 102:Food prices were high. Hotel guests should get priority access to Breakroom 86. It was too crowded and we could not get in. Room prices too high for very small rooms and bathrooms.

Review 103:Loved the floor to ceiling windows. Loved decor. Loved the open lobby and the 2nd floor atrium restaraunt and pool vibe. Pretty, convenient and modern.

Review 104:Restaurant way to expensive - food just basic, a bottle of mineral water in the room 10$ - is that crazy or what? Size of the room - way to small. Very saml gym, no sauna.

Review 105:Pool, interior design, Hollywood hills view, auto window shutter

Review 106:hotel overbooked so did not have two rooms on same floor which means we were not on same floor as our children We were "upgraded" to an upper floor room and that was that. Very disappointing. Will not stay there again and not recommend this hotel. It is overpriced, arrogant and unfriendly

Review 107:Free wi-fi Concierge very helpful

Review 108:The location and the design of the hotel are super cool. I really loved the off-beat attention to detail in the rooms. The bar and commissary were also really special and great places to have fun with friends or kick back and people watch. Overall a really unique spot that lives up to the hype.

Review 109:Our floor to ceiling windows on an upper floor did not keep us from hearing motorcycles, men shouting or lawn equipment early and late.

Review 110:Room was attractive but small. We were given an upgrade to help avoid noise of the nightly club scene in lobby.

Review 111:The neighborhood, Koreatown, didn't appear to be that walkable, certainly at night. And the location is removed from Downtown LA and the Hollywood, etc. so that it's not that close to sights that tourists will likely want to see.

Review 112:The view from the room was great! Be sure to get a room facing the Hollywood hills (even if you have to pay extra) because there is nothing quite like waking up to a view of the Hollywood sign. Hotel has a great boutique feel.

Review 113:The hidden charges on room service are a bit steep.

Review 114:This is a funky hotel that manages to be hip without being pretentious. The staff were all very helpful and the Hollywood Hills view from our room fantastic.

Review 115:Noise i can hear cars engines, drillings in the hotel, room is very small for 4 guests and hotel tried to charge my credit card after i checked out and received my invoice i don't know what for?

Review 116:Clean, location

Review 117:Very noisy couple in the room next to ours. We complained twice to the front desk before they quietened. Hotel staff should been more assertive.

Review 118:Loved the room, upper level room overlooking Hollywood hill, with an industrial feel. . We also picked the hotel because it was close to the metro line so as not to have to drive in LA. Worked perfectly!

Review 119:Very noisy from the street... Need ear plugs .... Additioal Noise on Fridays due to club party in Lobby bar ( and street Café) until 2pm

Review 120:Design, Pool area, Restaurant,

Review 121:The only problem was my friend and I wanted to reheat our food, but there was no heating appliance at the hotel, but it is was it is

Review 122:This is my second time staying at the Line and as usual it was great. The Internet works fast now, the beds were comfy, everything was clean, staff were great. Also the area is convient and nice

Review 123:Noisy air conditionning system View from the room (not the same as compared with booking website) Check in and check out "icy"

Review 124:Location Design

Review 125:Some staff was borderline rude, or just didn't appear to care either way about my stay. But others gave excellent service. All in all, the stay was good and I enjoyed myself.

Review 126:The room and view we're amazing.

Review 127:Only two complaints... I did not like that the temperature in the room would not allow you to lower the temperature. Also, not many healthy options at the cafe.

Review 128:Loved the scenery, rooms, modern decor, comfortable beds. The commissary was also awesome!

Review 129:A minor point, but the bathroom could use a make-up light and make-up mirror.

Review 130:Staff, from the valet park attendants to the desk, were very friendly and helpful.

Review 131:The pool is a party every night hard to come back after a long day and unwind. Clientele is mid 20-35. I am 61 Wong mix for me. Rooms were to small and noisy.

Review 132:I did my get the room I booked (with a view, at a higher rate), the staff offered me a cash credit, making it sound as if it was some kind of great benefit, instead of making sure I get the lower rate for the different room I got.

Review 133:The hotel turns out to be a lounge at night. You will hear drunk people screaming and talking until around 2 or 3 in the morning. Literally you will hear everything loud. I miss the old wilshire hotel so much. I would never go back to that place. It was terrible.

Review 134:Just the location. Right in the middle of K town

Review 135:A bit noisy, if you have the wrong neighbors you're in for a rough night.

Review 136:View from the room is great (top floor looking over the Hollywood hills). The place has some original features and shows evidence of eye for detail. Good breakfast restaurant next to the pool. Relaxed.

Review 137:There was no breakfast restaurant just a cafe in the lobby. The rooms are quite compact , make sure you leave the DND on the door otherwise the cleaning lady won't leave until you give her a time, she had the door opened. I had to get out of bed quite early on a weekend to tell her please come back in a few hours.

Review 138:Great ambience with a fantastic restaurant POT. Best thing about the area were the Korean BBQ restaurants. Depending what ur doing in LA the hotel was good within its location.

Review 139:Just the DJ in the lobby just hang in room.

Review 140:The Line Hotel is by far the best kept secret. They upgraded my to the Hokkywood view it's beyond words. Avoid lobby on Friday and Saturday nights. Crowded live DJ just head to your room. The Staff is beyond friendly the Design outstanding and Roy Choi's food in the Restaurants is superb!! I will only stay here beats the ACE HANDS DOWN!!!!

Review 141:I tried to bill a purchase from Poketo to my room and was unable to do that. I asked the salesperson to hold the swimsuit and dress I wanted to purchase while I went to my room to get a credit card. She agreed. When my boyfriend came down 10 minutes later, the swimsuit was back on the shelf and someone was trying on the dress I fully intended to purchase. Luckily I was able to still get my things, but I found that experience very unethical.

Review 142:Great people watching, excellent service, great food and drinks.
