Reviews for The Madison Concourse Hotel

Review 1:It's the Concourse. For those who've not stayed here: if you want an upscale hotel in Madison, right off State Street, just stay here. Protip: take an upper floor with a Capitol view.

Review 2:Matresses are very soft, not good for older visitors with less strong backs.

Review 3:Excellent location, nice venue, nice to have a starbucks and good restaurant and room service breakfast

Review 4:No bad experience, but I had the impression that the staff was not quite as welcoming and friendly as I remembered from previous stays.

Review 5:Renovations have made a big difference to the hotel. There is nothing like a refurbished room to increase one's feeling that the hotel cares. In addition, the restaurants are much improved.

Review 6:Service was excellent Special touch with surprising us with a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Thank you for helping make it a special day!!

Review 7:Location close to the capital square. We went to the Taste of Madison and it was so nice to be able to go back to the hotel to grab a quick shower before dinner.

Review 8:We loved that is was close to the Capital and also the University. It was a very nice place and we felt very comfortable there. Our son loved the pool and game room too.

Review 9:Stayed in the Governor's Club. Not sure what I got for that. Room was ok in size but dated in decor. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast were ok but choice limited. Probably better in main dining room. Did not reserve parking for me so had to use public parking for one night. Gym was small. Did not use pool.

Review 10:Nothing much to say. Room size was ok.

Review 11:I have traveled for business for 30 some years and know that if you need something done and done right you talk to the Bell Captain. When calling the Concourse Hotel and asking for the Bell Stand the front desk clerk would not put me thru, instead she insisted that she could help me, I finally gave up and hung up on her.

Review 12:Nice room, free hors-d'oeuvre's and cocktails in the evening, breakfast in the morning. Room waiter and bartender were excellent.

Review 13:We could never reach room service. We called and he didn't pick up after over 25 rings. The front desk had him call us. Once, when we wasn't picking up, we called the front desk, they called him, he never called us. We had to call front desk again and they had to walk over to have him call us. This happened several times.

Review 14:The welcome at the front desk was less than ideal. No mention of what to do about parking, hotel amenities, or even where the elevator was. Not that we couldn't easily figure it out but it's nice and has been my experience when they offer.

Review 15:Great location. Nice rooms. Good amenities.

Review 16:Parking facility ceiling clearance was rather restrictive. They should have posted a warning on the limited clearance at entry to the parking facility.

Review 17:I thought the hotel was great. It was clean, net, spacious and close to the state capitol building.

Review 18:our room was right next to the pool, very noisy, we woken up very early on sunday morning by screaming kids in the pool. the hotel parking lot was full and had to pay for the hotel to valet our car.

Review 19:i liked the location, convenient.

Review 20:decor is a little outdated

Review 21:Location, Nice room, Free breakfast since they were having renovations, called ahead of time to communicate renovations, sent free bottle of champagne to the room for my husband's birthday

Review 22:No one told us that construction was going on-Parking ramp was open to all and you did not need a ticket to get in or out but they still charged us $10/night-they gave us free breakfast but it did not open until 7am and we were gone by then--wd have preferred free parking

Review 23:Location

Review 24:Housekeeping left a glob of hair in the shower from the previous guests, which we had to contend with upon arrival.

Review 25:Check-in desk staff were very friendly and alert when we arrived- just after midnight!

Review 26:Downtown location gets isolated at night

Review 27:Location near the Capitol building Clean, comfortable rooms Friendly service overall Available computers Shuttle service

Review 28:Parking our SUV was a huge problem because the parking garage had limitations on height of vehicle. Plus the hotel charges to use their parking garage ($10 per day). No newspaper, no free breakfast, no free coffee (unless you got it during a certain time) Not only was the band extemely loud from the "Freakfest" going on outside, the Freaks inside the hotel using the ice machine across from out room at 4:30 am! disturbing the guest all night without supervision. We will not stay at the Concourse next year on Oct. 30--we traveled home 10 hrs in car with very little sleep!

Review 29:cleanliness of room comfortable

Review 30:Staff Kawika and Peter could not have been friendlier. Very helpful getting situated and had good suggestions on restaurants and shuttle service which we used to get back after walk to Pig in a Fur Coat. (Superb eats)

Review 53:Great place, but in the morning, I didn't like when the people will knock and if you didn't answer immediately they will just come in.

Review 91:Price little high.

Review 92:Close to everything, shopping, food, entertainment

Review 93:In room radio had poor reception. Do not do Valet unless you don't mind wating 15+ minutes in the lobby.

Review 94:The staff was outstanding! Pool was warm. Seperate private elevator came in handy! Great location! Great Find in General!

Review 95:Fantastic location. Wonderful staff. I knew before booking that employees here get health insurance and dental coverage. Best place in Madison to work in the hotel industry and it shows. The lunch buffet is one of the best I've ever had.

Review 96:They had not had my reservation on file when I checked in. There seems to be a lost connection between booking a reservation with them on booking.com and their reservation system.

Review 97:It is a great hotel in the middle the action on a typical weekend in Madison with the farmers' market, shopping on State Street and bars and restaurants. Even though they had not had my reservation on file, they were able to book me into one of their rooms on one of the busiest weekends in Madison after I showed them proof of the reservation.

Review 98:Have to pay for the breakfast after you paid $305 per night!
