Review 1：Rooms dirty, dead bugs on floor. Old beds, Very dirty outside rooms and parking lot. Took shoe's off and talked around room, and my socks turned black from rug on the floor.

Review 3：We got up to Holland and the place was CONDEMNED with signs saying it was UNFIT FOR HUMAN HABITATION! We were not contacted beforehand with this disturbing information!

Review 6：Everything. There was hair on the bed, hair on the sink and in the bathroom (not ours). Nasty. Nasty bathroom, falling apart, COLD WATER, and no water pressure. A crack between the ground and the door, so you could hear right outside, and see the light coming through.

Review 8：The shower didn't work, and apparently they don't wash the bedspread between guests because after sleeping there all my clothes smelled very strongly of smoke, despite being in a non-smoking room. To add insult to injury, it was also the most expensive place I have stayed in the US, although it is the cheapest place in Holland.

Review 11：Room had no chair or alarm clock and only one night stand. There were no extra pillows or blankets and nowhere to hang clothes. Bathroom was very small and tile work was not complete. No pool, No coffee in room. Curtains hung unevenly. Not real clean.
Review 12：Staff was very nice, fairly close to downtown and it was easy to get to. The room had a refrigerator and a king size bed. Free coffee and boxed donuts available in morning at the office.
Review 13：I just drove 4 hours across the state of Michigan - my windshield of mycar was cleaner than the window in my room. The walls were dirty withhand prints. The dead bolt on the lock did not work - did not make mefeel real safe. The tv was all dusty, as was the table that it wassitting on. Sitting on the table was a card with the stations for the tvhalf of them did not work. At the bathroom sink was an open bar of usedsoap. The sink needed to be cleaned with cleanser and a scouring pad.The top of the toilet tank had dust and dirt on it. The inside of thetoilet bowl had some "brown flecks" on it that did notdisappear upon flushing. Eventually though they got smaller! The bathtubwas gross! There was a ring of scum around the inside. I went to theoffice to complain that it was dirty and someone came with a towel and aspray bottle of something. When in fact what it needed was some elbowgrease along with some Comet cleanser. The shower curtain had whatappeared to be remnants of someone's bm on it. Someone whopreviously had stayed there had spilled something red on the wall by thebathroom - it was still there. I had to ask for another set of towels,since there was 2 of us staying. I did not discover until after I usedthe towel that it had a smudge of makeup on it. We checked the sheets onboth of the beds - they "appeared" to be clean but who knows.The room did not have a remote control for the tv, a hair dryer or analarm clock. I stayed the previous night in a Holiday Inn in Muskegonfor only 10 dollars more a night. I feel of $88.79 I should be able toexpect a clean and safe room. All in all if I was given the choice ofspending the night at this place again or in my car - I would pick thecar. It is much cleaner!

Review 15：The rooms haven't been painted in years, there are gross fingerprints all over everything. The rooms look dirty, stink, and and have very old and worn looking everything.
Review 16：Staff was very accommodating. First room was very smoky. The staff switched our room no problem. Room still smelled, but far less. We decided to leave due to a police incident and they refunded our money no problem.
Review 17：I may need VACCINATIONS...We were in town for Tulip Time and I cheapedout and rented this room. Dear god. . . . the first thing that hit mewhen I walked in the room was the smell. Something between nasty stalecigarettes and dog. We left our bags and drove to the meijer store andbought febreeze and candles, went back to the room and sprayedeverything fabric, and left the door open. Lit the candles and the smellstarted to subside, and as we were watching television, a box popped upthat they had 48 hours to pay the bill or the satellite would be shutoff. That stayed on the screen for a few minutes, and so we decided toget some sleep, so I turned back the bed. . there were pubic hairs init. From whoever stayed there last. They reused dirty sheets!!!!! Ipicked up the phone to call the front desk, there was some sort ofsticky substance on the earpiece and the part that it sat in had amixture of dirt and crumbs in it. I wound up walking down to the office(mind you, by now it's almost 11:00 P.m) to ask for new sheets, andwhen I got to the front desk, I asked as nicely as possible for newsheets (and when I say nice, I wasn't nice at all, considering I hadfound pubic hairs in my bed) and was told that they didn't have akey to the laundry room!!! I told them to call someone for a key, that Iwasn't walking away until I had fresh sheets!!!! They managed tofind sheets somewhere and they were brought down to our room, and theywere all four flat sheets but hey! They were CLEAN...although one sethat burn holes in them, and then we discovered that the mattress padlooked like it had been run over by a car or something in the parkinglot, as it had big dirty marks all over it!!!! Seriously, I have no ideahow this place stays in business. Spend the money, stay somewhere else.This place is nasty beyond the definition of the word!

Review 20：Nothing was outstanding, but we did find the room to be clean. Tub area looked like it had recently been updated with new tile. We just needed a roof over our heads for one night. Room rate was very inexpensive.

Found coackroach in room. Rooms are not treated to prevent this. Terrible experience all around.

Review 27：The other desk staff were unprofessional, talking loudly about irrelevant things, interrupting me when I wanted to check in. The room was stuffy and smelled of mildew. As a woman traveling alone, I did not feel completely safe. People talked loudly outside my window in the middle of the night and I felt uncomfortable with some of the people also staying at the Economy Lodge.
Review 28：The room was ready early, and the front desk staff person was kind and very helpful. The price was the same as the one that was quoted on my reservation that I booked online.
Review 29：We ended up not staying. Went up to the room and it stunk so bad there is no way we would have stayed there. The building, grounds and rooms were dirty. Awful place!
Review 30：My husband heard loud talking at 3am outside our door. In the morning when my husband was showering, I ran to the car for something when a man asked where I was from so I told him and he told me he was from the same. I went in quickly, as he seemed a bit to interested when he said oh your husbands here too? I went in and locked door. He came knocking on my door and did not stop for the entire time my husband was in the bathroom. I was very scared and did not answer. We left as soon as we could and did not come back. This was 7:45 am. I would never stay there again. And I will be sure to tell others not to as well. A horrible experience, and I love holland.
Review 31：There seemed to be many people who lived in this hotel who gathered in the parking lot to hang out. Could hear through walls and ceiling. Bathroom fixtures broken and dirty.

Review 37：Conditions seemed inconsistent between rooms. Our traveling companion's room looked and smelled clean on arrival, and yet the TV was broken. While we had TV, the smell of the room made it hard to feel comfortable and get a good night's sleep. Neither could we shake the concern that our car wasn't quite secure in the parking lot. I'd recommend as a last resort, and this only to the traveler looking for a place to crash for a single night. Most certainly not a locale that invites rest and relaxation.
Review 38：Unlike other reviewers, we found the staff friendly and attentive, and yet oddly oblivious to the subpar conditions of their locale. They were more than happy to provide us with Soft Scrub to clean the dirty toilet we found in our room when we arrived. It never occurred to them that the toilet should have been clean to begin with....
Review 39：There were people living at this hotel and just hanging around on balconies and outside. It felt unsafe as I was traveling with 2 teenage girls. The room smelled of smoke terribly. Were only in the room for 20 seconds and decided it was worth losing my money and I went and stayed somewhere else.

Review 47：The location was excellent -- close to Hope Coillege where we saw a play, and Saugatuck, our destination; but cheaper than lodging there. This was the reason for our decision to book. When we asked for a cot, we were told there wasn't one; but then one was found and set up for us.
Review 48：The manner in which the desk clerk didn't care. He said I am not giving money back. It was his second sentence. He did not apologize or act surprised. Must happen all the time.
Review 49：My wife was startled awake with bugs in her hair. I captured one of the bugs to show manager. He did nothing. He was rude. He was defiant. Told me there was nothing I could do. He was arrogant not only to me but my wife. I was all I could do to not .... scream at him at the top of my lungs.

The people wandering around the outside of the hotel looked very shady. I will never use booking.com again. Started our vacation off on a bad note. Very disappointed.
