Review 1：Too selling-oriented staff when it comes to join activities to a discount and in return show interest in the resort apartment association we had no interest in.

Review 10：Throughout our stay the parking lot where we were told to leave our car at check-in was undergoing maintenance and repairs. We were constantly asked to move our car. Moreover, the noise and smell from the site was interfering with our son's sleep. The hotel didn't look full at all so they could have easily given us another room or at least explained properly where to park.

Review 11：The room was fantastic. It was huge and had everything we needed. There is a little baby beach nearby where kids can safely play. There are plenty of nice local restaurants nearby, and the location of the hotel is great for exploring all sides of Kauai.

Review 12：The pressure from the Shell Vacation staff to buy a timeshare was intense, and continued throughout our trip. Honestly, it was bad enough that we will not return.

Review 15：Please note. The resort is not a hotel! It is a time-share facility and you will book a condo and not a full-service hotel room with included meals and daily service! Overall, we were fully satisfied and loved the stay. If you compare it to a 5* hotel resort, you sure will find things to complain. But it isn't a hotel and we were not looking for one. - Nice condo (ours had 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and a bigger kitchen/living room) - Beds were very comfortable - Everything was clean - Furniture was "old/traditional" style but very well maintained/new - Air condition worked good (one was leaking, but staff took care instantly) - Cleaning service was good (twice a week) - All rooms have a partial sea view, some have full sea view - Pool area, area in total was nice and very well maintained - Barbecues were provided for free Kauai is far too nice to stay in your facility. We only did it for 2 days in our 10 days stay (and I've been to Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Caribic, and a lot of places in Europe).

Review 16：3rd floor no lift, no help with bags. Stairs and hallways smelt of stale urine. Dated decor (fine) and very old appliances. Poor wifi. Horrible service from lady at the poolside bar, seems to be a very cliquey group there. Small pool. Dirty sun loungers.

Review 17：Kapa'a is a beautiful part of the world but there are better places to stay. Good air con though. And nice hammocks.

Review 18：We liked our condo with garden view but we also had a partial ocean view which was amazing. We loved the restaurant on site. It was also nice to have the marketplace for shopping so near. Everything turned out great.

Review 19：Perfect stay, large and completely equipped apartment, quiet environment suitable for walks or jogging along the shore or just enjoying the sea view in beach chairs and hammocks, grocery shop across the street, larger shopping centres 1 block away. Ground floor apartments really recommendable - direct access to greens.

Review 20：They don't clean your room every day, they tidy it. The bathroom was not cleaned once in our 7 night stay. I had to specifically ask them to come in to clean it and remove the mold that was growing around the tub and tile.

We were visiting from O'ahu along with other family members who had their own rooms for our great niece's one year baby luau (actually just a small barbecue by your pool) and we decided that the next time we visit our niece we will probably stay with you instead of at her house because your prices were reasonable for the value and we loved the grounds and the landscaping. Review 24：Check in was to be at 4pm. I requested an early checkin day before and arrived at hotel around 1pm. Room was not ready but was told the front desk would call me at pool when room ready. At 4pm still no call I went to desk and was told the room was not ready. It would be another 30-40 min. I was offered a room on 2nd or 3rd floor in a hotel with NO elevators. I explained that I had been waiting for the ground floor room and that is what I had booked. Staff did not care one bit. Zero customer service. I took the room on 2nd floor as I had dinner reservations and was not all certain my room would ever be ready. There's NO housekeeping at all during stay as its a timeshare property, just awful! Pool was very small for a resort and the beach was very rocky and with trash and other debris. Overall a terrible choice on beautiful Kauai!

Review 26：My only real winge was the Internet. The resort advertised free internet but it was very slow if not available at all. When ask the reception staff they didn't want to know about it.

Review 45：Called the day before arrival and asked if they had an early check in available, I was told no but if I was in the area to stop by and preregister and if the room was available I could check in. We arrived at the hotel at 3:00 pm, the room was not ready so we preregistered and returned at the normal check in time which is 4:00 pm, the room was still not ready and was told they would call me when it was. About 4:30 received a call that the room was ready so we returned. The hotel staff gave us $20.00 dollars of free drink coupons to use at the pool bar (which closes at 5:45 pm by the way). Later on went to dinner, arrived at the restaurant at 9:01 pm only to be told they closed 1 minute ago and we could not come in, however, we could sit at their bar and "maybe" get desert. I will not be returning to this establishment in the future

Review 56：The 2 bedroom Villa we stayed in was quite large and beautiful. At the time of booking I didn't even realize it came equipped with a washing machine and dryer with free pouches of detergent. We were also supplied with popcorn and juice. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were very large. The grounds were nice with hammocks, a pool, sauna, and cozy "firepits" near the front of the resort with couches around them where you could relax late at night with a drink.

Review 57：My wife and I were able to check-in early and store our bags while we went sight-seeing. Received a phone call that our room was ready earlier than expected. Room was very comfortable, washer/dryer was a big plus. Staff was very friendly, outside facilities were picturesque. Only one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 60：We left Maui a day ahead of Hurricane Ana and lucked into this resort. Everything was gorgeous, spacious, and clean. The kitchen had everything you needed. There was a washer and dryer in the unit. There was only one bathroom, but it was set up with double sinks, which was very handy. The sofa bed was actually a queen and was relatively comfortable.

Review 61：The facilities feel very dated-- musty hallways with smelly carpet and no circulation because of the sealed windows-- so there were always flies in the hallways. We were a young couple and this hotel felt like it was more for the much older crowd. The staff is a bit sleepy, from the moment we got there it was like they were on vacation. When we got to our room the phone was buzzing and you have to set up this annoying voicemail. Who even needs voicemail when on vacation. The phone would not stop beeping loudly and it took me 20 minutes of fumbling with the phone to figure out how to stop it -- and only to realize the concierge at the front desk had left two messages telling us to come down so she could give us brochures. We had just traveled a long way to get the kauai so it was not what we were expecting on our arrival! The facilities need updating -- everything really feels very dated. I wouldn't go back here, not recommended for younger couples.

Review 68：Overall a great resort. Had a garden view room on the 3rd (top) floor, which provided surprisingly good ocean views (partial). Very happy with the decision to stay at the beachboy. Pool isn't huge, but very nice and much better (and larger) than the pools at neighboring properties. Not a great swimming beach, but that's pretty normal for Kauai and there are sandy areas within a short walk.

When we checked in wewere told we were upgraded to an ocean view 2 bedroom! (We had booked1bed garden view) we were thrilled! The room was beautiful and directlyon the water. We had our ceremony on the grounds and the reception atthe Hukilau Lanai- the best meal we had on the entire trip. We stayed at2 other hotels after the Beachboy and nothing compared, we wouldrecommend it to everyone and we can't wait to return.

Review 115：We planned a somewhat last minute trip to Kauai from Oahu for a relative's wedding. I searched on the internet via booking.com rather than doing the typical fly-drive-hotel kamaaina package. Kauai Coast Resort had the best reviews and we booked there vs. Aston Islander on the Beach as it ended up being about the same price with the resort fee (which is just annoying) so I picked the beachboy resort. I was a little skeptical after reading a so-so review from one person and seeing the pics from that person. However, the reviews overall were great. As soon as we got in, the rental car rep said it was a good place as did the other local people we spoke to (grocery store etc). We were so very, very pleased when we arrived that I immediately took pics of the room and shared on Facebook. Being that we are locals, we know what is out there (and I have been to Kauai many, many times - just not Kapaa side for awhile). We are already planning to return in the next few months - just because. Next trip my mother takes to visit us (she is from IL and Kauai is the only island she has not yet experienced), we are booking the same place - Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy! I was just amazed at how great the place was for such a great price! The only complaint was that we were only there 2 days. The staff was wonderful, the 1 bdrm garden view was huge for a "hotel room" and we had a view of the ocean (we arrived at night and good hear the ocean from our room as soon as we opened the lanai door)! I can't say enough about this place but have been promoting it to all my local and mainland friends!!!! It was one of those few nice surprises you seem to get these days! Mahalo!!!

Review 116：You couldn't swim in the pool just lounge. The fitness center was minimal and we sat in on a timeshare presentation...didn't realize it was a timeshare facility and the guy was very misleading with info on the island economy, and hotel occupancy. Place was dated with bathroom needing some repairs and some cleaning in the kitchen area. The environment was quiet and bed comfortable but certainly didn't see the value of a timeshare there.

We got upgraded from a studio to a 1-bedroom and everything you would ever need for a long-ish term stay is there for you. There was nothing that was left out. The room was also very clean and comfortable, had no troubles sleeping. The other great thing was that it's just so quiet and peaceful. There's not as many people roaming around the resort and it ended up being such a relaxing stay. Definitely coming here again, when the opportunity comes!
