Reviews for Angourie Rainforest Resort
Review 1:Expensive breakfast. Would recommend people take their own or buy elsewhere. Don't like toilets in bathrooms.
Review 2:Lovely, clean apartment. Good kitchen. Great deck area!! Spacious feel to apartment - loved the high ceilings! Loved the spa bath!
Review 3:The simple things that could be an easy fix were the things I didn't like. The ensuite shower was mouldy, there was no sugar for coffee, the dishwasher powder was in a food container (labelled but could be improved) and the bed was hard. Minor points that only detracted slightly from the overall impressiveness of this resort.
Review 4:I loved the lay out of the entire complex. The pools, playground, and other facilities to keep children and adults alike happy were exceptional.
Review 5:The room had a smell of mould that wasn't nice. It was very dark. Bathroom was very dated and the room needed a general revamp.
Review 6:Nice location for a weekend break
Review 7:We didn't like the thin toilet paper.
Review 8:The apartment was spacious and by having a full kitchen we were able to make our own breakfast and lunch-it was a rainy weekend so we enjoyed quite a bit of indoor time. We loved the spa bath. Having a comfy day bed on the patio/balcony was great! Yamba is such a beautiful area :-)
Review 9:thanks to all the staff for their extremely friendly and helpful assistance ensuring my husband had a wonderful 60th birthday! Special thanks to Amanda and Maddie.
Review 10:We didn't like the cleanliness of our apartment. I unfortunately broke one of our beer bottles out of the fridge and we obtained a mop and bucket which my husband also used to clean the apartment. Each time we used the Spa. It left a residue around the edge. Even after cleaning it ourselves. This isn't good either because I am 16 weeks pregnant and is still a health risk. The main bedroom was covered in dust and I am asthmatic and this is not good either and the sitting room sofa smelt and felt very damp so we used the bed sheets on this as we took our own linen. It's a real shame because it's the last time we will get time to get away ourselves till the baby arrives and it will be our last Anniversary away for a while too. We didn't like the fact that we had to ask reception for toilet paper. Only to receive one roll each time we asked for more when we stayed for 4 nights. I wasn't informed prior to my mother to be massage that I wasn't allowed to use the spa or steam room either. Even though I have a spa in our apartment. This was pretty important to know seeing I paid for a massage. The restaurant ran out of 2 starters and was very overpriced for the small portions given. In comparison to a lovely restaurant we fortunately came across just down the road and the poor waiter did exceptionally well by himself because they were one waiter/waitress short. Not at all professional on many levels as a highly stared resort. We definitely won't be eating there again and tipped the well deserved and well mannered waiter too.
Review 11:We mainly liked the facilities and the layout of the apartment is a great design but a shame it hasn't been fully maintained and the spa in the bathroom was good and the pressure of the shower too. The Day Spa was good too.
Review 12:The bath tub was a bit aged. Didn't bother us as we didn't go there for the bath tub.
Review 13:Spacious villa, nice kitchen, awesome veranda. Quiet environment (even in front of children's playground).
Review 14:Upon booking it was stated spa bath and free wifi all day in our package and we did not get either which made me a little disappointed.?
Review 15:Loved disability shower chair.loved balcony and barbecue area.loved how it was a private villa. Loved rainforest setting.❤️
Review 16:For a 4.5 star resort, I would have expected cable or internet tv for those rainy days. We wanted to use room service for dinner but it would appear that food room service is only for lunch (what the??)
Review 17:The rainforest setting is fantastic and the added advantage of the outdoor screening allows you to fully utilise the tropical wonderland without the mozzies and bugs
Review 18:The staff were awesome, helpful, cheerful and very professional ! Felt very welcome the whole time. The Aboriginal Art out front was amazing! And it is located on beautiful Yaegl country !! Great experience will def be back !!
Review 19:The beds and pillows were not comfortable and the villa was quite cold.
Review 20:The staff were very accomodating. It was a very quiet property- nice to be out of town
Review 21:Not really bad, just found the bed a bit hard, but more a personal thing. Some would love that its hard!
Review 22:Restaurant, very friendly service. Closr to everything
Review 23:Loved the enclosed elfresco area and the setting. Although we were only a couple it would be great for families with the facilities provided. The new bikes, fantastic. Thanks
Review 24:We paid extra for a spa but when we ran the spa bath and turned it on it was filthy dirty and we could not use it. Very disappointed. The fan in the bedroom was also dirty. The bed was ok but the pillows were flat and hard.
Review 25:The setting is very nice and the accommodation was spacious. The restaurant was good.
Review 26:The room key should not have a property name or room number on it. If the key is lost or the car stolen there is no room security. Anyone picking it up can have full room identification and access to steal from the room. Keys must be non identifiable.
Review 27:The staff were most pleasant and helpful. Could not fault them. Lovely girls.
Review 28:We live in Sydney, too far for a short holiday. But we'll be back.
Review 29:Large individual villas. Roomy with all amenities. Lovely outlook. Huge bathroom and shower. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 30:On Sunday the very loud car reversed parked in front of our unit whilstwe were quietly relaxing. As a result our unit was filled up withdangerous and poisonous exhaust fumes. I had an asthma attack and wasvomiting due to this. I notified reception and they told me that theyhad spoken to management and the car owner was not going to be allowedto park with in the unit block and had to use the visitors car parkingarea. The receptionist came over to our room about 20 minutes after theevent and she could still smell the fumes. She offered to find usanother room in the booked out resort. We said that if the car ownerparked his car in visitors area we were happy to stay where we were aswe only had one night left. My husband and I went out for tea as wecould not stand the smell and I was getting more nauseous. We arrivedback just before 8pm to discover the car had reversed parked in front ofour unit again and was there all night. The office was closed so I couldnot ring to tell them. We were not happy. Next morning we got up earlierthen intended and left as we did not want o go through the sameexperience again. Upon booking out the receptionist said that the carowner had been spoken to and said he would park his car in visitorsarea. Obviously this did not happen and no one followed through withchecking up that he abided by management's wishes. I feel let down, our weekend was ruined, I came home sick suffering still with asthma andnausea from the fumes and this thoughtless young couple got to have avery enjoyable weekend. They were still parked in front of our unit whenwe left and reception told me that the car did not park in front of ourunit again. I had to tell them that yes they did and no one checked.
Review 31:The spa bath, cocktails,
Review 32:The room smelt like cheap cleaning products and was stuffy. There was no natural light and it was dark. The bed was small and spongy and when we cooked dinner the gas oven didn't work. I'm not sure why they brand as eco village. There's no obvious passive solar design in the accom, no option to recycle, no environmentally friendly cleaning products. We both had to do work, the wifi connection was terrible and you could only use it on one device!
Review 33:Staff were nice
Review 34:Disappointed that the bathroom was average. Mould in the shower and sink makes it very unappealing! The bedcovers were also very dusty and the dishwasher was stinky!
Review 35:The day spa was amazing! Pool area and games room great too. The cabins size is terrific.
Review 36:With all of the timber it is a little dark in the villas. Hot water in the shower only lasted for one person and didn't recharge quickly. This wasn't a particularly cheap place to stay so wi-fi should have been included in the price. They do at Peppers at Kingscliffe and breakfast too for the same sort of money.
Review 37:The accomodation was very well set up. Roomy, breezy and in a lovely tropical setting. Was so impressed with the layout and the fully screened verandah
Review 38:Rainforest walk is a bit pathetic! Limited selection of beers. No BD player (they are about $60 each nowadays), just an old-fashioned DVD player! Last century! In a 2 bedroom villa, only one WiFi password provided (despite one technical staff person saying just ask for another, reception would not provide, citing bandwidth issues when at least half of the complex was vacant (?))
Review 39:The tranquility and the excellent restaurant; also friendly staff and service. These could not be better!
Review 40:Our love affair with Angourie screeched to a halt when we went to bed. The mattress was rock hard & a struggle to get comfortable on. The only downer was having to check out by 10am.
Review 41:We loved the style of the unit - neat, splashes of colour, the well resources kitchen, the gorgeous view from the back patio
Review 42:As above
Review 43:A beautiful spot, but we had the worst appartment in the complex. It should only be used when nothing else is available, There is no privacy as everyone passes your room on the way to the dining room.
Review 44:There are plenty of midgies so don't forget the mozzie repelent.
Review 45:Cocktails served by the pool; both the pools; all the facilities for small children.
Review 46:Very few kitchen utensils and worst frying pan ever used. Old and extremely hot gym. Wifi could only be used by 1 device at a time.
Review 47:Our one bedroom apartment was luxurious and spacious. Amazing price quality ratio. Short drive into town, great tennis court and pool. Great coffee at reception bar.
Review 48:Bad Tv reception and we stayed for three nights with noone coming to clean room and give fresh towels
Review 49:The villas were spacious and comfortable! Pool area was large and enjoyed by children as well' didnt feel over crowded' gym and play area were also spot on
Review 50:The place wasn't clean especially the kitchen, on top of the cupboards still have food scraps not sure since when, kitchen utensils, plates, pots and pans still have oil greases as if it hasn't been washed, we had to clean everything before we use them. We had a hard time trying to use the wifi, really disappointed with the noise level.
Review 51:Love the location of the place.
Review 52:A terrible musty smell hits you as you open the door to the unit.its that bad you wonder how you can stay for a night. Ordered champagne on arrival but wasn't there. It's really a bit of a boguns resort
Review 53:It's not overpriced for the quality but you pay for what you get
Review 54:The prices of the day spa were quite expensive.. the multitude of mozzies was quite annoying
Review 55:Location is perfect along with the pool, very kid friendly.
Review 56:Could'n't get into the room until 2.50, no forks in kitchen, microwave had splattered tomato in it, fridge not working properly (2 calls to get it attended to), remote for tv not working, craft activity for kids started 20 minutes late (excuse: we've been very busy); unlikely to stay again.
Review 57:The ceiling fans were so dusty I had to clean them myself before turning on. The spa in our apartment was dirty when I turned it on the water had a dirty film on top. I emptied and cleaned and refilled. Bed was too hard.
Review 58:Food was beautiful. Massage fantastic. Pool area great and the children's facilities were great too.
Review 59:Two of the 6 meals ordered in restraunt were well below standard however when reported a satisfactory resolution was achieved.
Review 60:Privacy was good. Service when reporting a problem was very quickly attended and efficiently resolved
Review 61:General cleaning of the rooms was fair because there was a lot of dust, and mould. The rooms also smelled musty. Another thing was that room service ended at the same time the restaurant closed? I could have eaten at the restaurant if it was open I thought the point of room service was for after restaurant hours.
Review 62:The staff were friendly, and responsive to all requests. The pool area was very nice. Also undercover parking was a bonus.
Review 63:would like to have had a meal at the restaurant on a Friday night, as we had travelled from Sydney, but kitchen closed at 8pm.
Review 64:pool close clean, roomy didn't need a thing, all taken care of.
Review 65:The smell of the cleaning products used in the villas was horrendous! We had to buy fragrant candles to try and mask the smell.
Review 66:Loved the layout of the villas and the activities for young children, our 3 yo was in heaven! Still plenty of activities available to keep young children happy in bad weather!
Review 67:Cleanliness was clean on the surface, not detailed. Fan rickety in bedrooms woke me up during the night, aircon only in main room. Breakfast Buffet offering at 9am was not fresh, hot options looked 2 hours old.
Review 68:Setting was peaceful, enough space for the family including good outdoor area covered by screens. Parking at the door easy to load and unload.
Review 69:The pillows were so flat and uncomfortable, luckily we had 2 rooms so we could use the spares. The wifi was difficult to use and had minimal phone coverage. Very basic kitchen utensils but we managed.
Review 70:The kiddie pool was great and provided endless hours of fun for our 1 year old. Closer to town than I thought it would be. Definitely stay again.
Review 71:Minutes from Yamba but still felt you were away in the rainforest. Huge apartment with great facilities. Brilliant playground for kids. We will be back.
Review 72:Lack of towels had to ask for extras on second day as they don't house keep each day, rainforest walk was disappointing needs a bit of TLC, Hot breakfast menu (which you pay extra on top of what you pay for the continental) for me was a bit ordinary. A afternoon wedding was on when we came back from golf trip unit car parks full of cars had to park a fair way from our unit.
Review 73:I liked the location, the size of the one bedroom unit was great, good sized kitchen, although unit self contained we opted to pay extra and dine in the restaurant each morning for continental, breakfast and once for tea, weren't disappointed. the surroundings are peaceful and we enjoyed the time we were there. Just an observation there was a Family atmosphere with great facilities for children. If I had kids would seriously consider a holiday in summer here.
Review 74:Had to go into town to eat breakfast and dinner because prices for the restaurant were very expensive. We would have had breakfast and dinner there if the prices were realistic.
Review 75:Great location and room was very comfortable.
Review 76:No spa bath, most doors didn't lock/very difficult to lock. Bar not accessible due to function (should have been informed of this as I did speak to someone at the resort)
Review 77:Comfortable rooms, good kitchenette, nice balcony. Lovely picturesque setting.
Review 78:The room we were originally put in had a smoker next door. The smoke could just blow straight into our lounge and bedroom.Better petitions between rooms would fix this. We were moved which wasnt a problem but it wouldve been better if we didnt have to be.
Review 79:The food and service was fantastic!!!
Review 80:The day spa treatment seemed overpriced; room service meals were also overpriced for what was delivered.
Review 81:Value for money; the size of the apartment; the size of the spa in the apartment; the friendly staff.
Review 82:The room smelt mouldy. There was also mould in the shower.
Review 83:The pools were really clean and relaxing.
Review 84:Value is not there, it's more 3 1/2 - 4 star accommodation
Review 85:Pool area is large, fun for the kids
Review 86:Cupboards, drawers, blankets and lounge smelt stale and musty.
Review 87:Great pool area
Review 88:Setting in the rainforest beautiful, pool area fantastic, very spacious apartment, quiet. comfortable bed and brilliant shower!

Review 93:Nothing everything was perfect
Review 94:Beautiful location, spacious luxury villa with closed in sunroom/veranda, friendly staff
Review 95:Poor coffee and no top up of instant coffee and milk on a daily basis
Review 96:Staff were very friendly and the food & service were exceptional
Review 97:shops in your area where mostly closed would like to be able to bring our small dog with us no view from our room

Review 100:Dined at the restaurant and food and staff were excellent.
Review 101:an incorrect charge on account which didn't belong to us.

Review 103:Bed was squeaky
Review 104:Staff helpful in letting us know about town
Review 105:Great place to have a young child with the pools and play areas. Also loved the large balcony enclosed with flyscreens.
Review 106:Tired, old, uncomfortable bed- over priced
Review 107:The room is a little dated and could do with a refresh.
Review 108:Size of the room.
Review 109:Room was not as described. No spa bath in two bedroom room with spa bath. Disappointed as we paid extra to get this room.
