Reviews for Hotel Angeleno

Review 1:Very accommodating. Helpful with our needs. Kind and courteous staff. Great location and not overpriced at all. FREE WIFI AND PARKING a plus these days! Awesome architecture and the key cards as vinyl LP shapes?! Crazy cool!

Review 2:We had a great experience

Review 3:The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and clean and had an extremely convenient location. The valet for the rental car was amazing!

Review 4:rooms seemed a bit outdated. The tub fixtures didn't work well. Self parking would be nice.

Review 5:The staff was great and accomodating. The food was surprisingly good. Value was good for the price which was less than other hotels we have stayed at.

Review 6:Getting kicked out the restaurant everytime they had an event booked. The alternative dinning area was not up to the standard I paid for...

Review 7:The people at the hotel was really Helpful and friendly.

Review 8:Restaurant food is sub par and wait staff is generally poor. Service is slow and almost every order at the tables surrounding me as well as my own were delivered incomplete. It's a shame because the location and view of the restaurant are excellent. Seems like a huge missed opportunity for the hotel.

Review 9:Great location, nice rooms, and attentive hotel staff. One of the best bargains in Los Angeles. Hotel is located in the center of everything.

Review 10:Just after checking in about 6 pm we enjoyed a glass of wine (complementary) out by the fire (near the pool). This made for a very nice start to our evening. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Review 11:I was unhappy about the construction noise and only being notified about it at check in. Also the text message room service was not prompt.

Review 12:The cafe and restaurant.

Review 13:The rooms were pretty small and I had requested a renovated room but was not put in one so that was a little disappointing.

Review 14:The staff was very nice, polite, and accommodating.

Review 15:They rent a room for 4 people but only put cups etc for 2 peoeel and for the second they they dont even put new coffee pads.... instead of parking the car for you which is not necessary, they could offer more confort.. it is not a 4 star hotel. Food is too expensive for what it is...

Review 16:Location

Review 17:Closets was very small. It was big enough for a day or two visit to hang clothes for two persons. The furniture need updating and need to add more lighting to the room. Also could be too noisey. Close to expressway.

Review 18:Good location Convenient to locations where we needed to be .

Review 19:this is perfection! The best place ever!

Review 20:The kindest and most empathic staff ever! Have a relative at UCLA medical center, and they drove me there and back each day for over a week. No charge. And they even sent flowers to the patient! They are unbelievable! The best of the best!

Review 21:nothing but a little noisy outside

Review 22:The valet parking, the gym, the quality of the interior, and the service, was the best deal I've experienced in a long time

Review 23:this 4 Star Hotel located right on the 405 Freeway and other busy roads has no soundproof windowpanes to break the constant noise from the traffic all through the nights (stayed 5) and thus allowing good nights sleep without uncomfortable ear plugs

Review 24:Great views of LA skyline and freeway traffic Good restaurant and great view from the 17th floor Edith from front desk very helpful and understanding

Review 25:At the time of my stay, many of the amenities weren't available due to private events. That was disappointing. However, it will not stop me from considering another stay at this hotel.

Review 26:Central location. Ease and variety of transportation options. Clean, modern decor. Friendly staff. Good price.

Review 27:We could hear the the toilet flushing from the other rooms. It's really loud.

Review 28:Cleanliness and the price value of our stay. And we love the fact valet was free. We appreciate the excellent service.

Review 29:Breakfast was priced per item and was expensive, room definitely smelled funny at first. The elevator was a fail at times

Review 30:The view was nice, the small apples were cute. The "complimentary" parking even though it's factored in the price

Review 31:The intimate feel of the hotel made our stay quite memorable and the friendliness of the staff from the beggining of our stay until the end was greatly appreciated. Thank you !

Review 32:Freeway noise , isolation, you can't walk to a good restaurant/ bar/ music venue. That said, it is centrally located if you are using a car. Restaurant is very good but pricey

Review 33:The room was small but cozy. Sometimes we had a problem with wi-fi.

Review 34:This hotel has a great location if you travel by car. You will avoid the city traffic and it's has a great view from the restaraunt on the 17th floor.

Review 35:Forced ballet parking, plus valet parking staff is rude and inefficient

Review 36:That we had a very good deal for a very good hotel, well located and nice looking

Review 37:Some bar staff and breakfast staff were not as friendly as might have been desireable.

Review 38:Great location. Great views. Guest car. Free wifi. Even the free one is fast.

Review 39:Not one thing.

Review 40:The hotel is very nice. The staff went above and beyond for me .The rooms are really clean, and I checked everywhere trust me . People complained about traffic noise, but you could barely hear it. Unless your door is wide open. As for the penthouse lounge. The food is excellent, and the views are gorgeous. I would suggest going when it's dark.I will definitely be staying here everytime now

Review 41:We didn't like that we couldn't stay longer.

Review 42:We liked the comfort, the wonderful restaurant (West) upstairs, the closeness to the Getty and how quiet it was, except for the traffic but that was even kind of comforting. I

Review 43:Only had 2 elevators that were very slow and when we called for a bellman to take our bags down, no one ever came, so we did it ourselves. I think we must have called them at a very busy time. Other than that, excellent stay

Review 44:clean, modern, comfortable, location, value

Review 45:the breakfast service on the 17th floor was the WORST ever. The kitchen basically broke down. Took forever to get a menu, coffee, the actual cooking time took forever, the potatoes were missing from the order. The manager was always in motion, but he never did anything, never knew that the service was breaking down...and when we told him he just had a blank face. (tall white fellow with wavy hair) We refused to eat there the next day In our room, we couldn't sleep the first night because the heater made a loud whining sound. Next night we turned it off....but we could hear another room's heater!

Review 46:The room I reserved was not what I requested, I requested a double bed suite on a top floor. When I checked in they had a reservation of a king. So the only room available with a double bed was a very small room with very small beds and on the 7th floor. That was my only major disappointment

Review 47:The valet service and staff the cleanliness and quality and softness of towels.

Review 48:The valet was ridiculous. Because i wasn't the one staying in the room it was a little more hastle because it's only one complimentary valet per room but since i wasn't staying there and my sister had to come help me, they made it a little more difficult. I had to come back to the room to turn on all thr candle lights and just to avoid the drama, i parked on the street

Review 49:I loved the balcony. I got this place for my parents anniversary. I set the room up before hand with rose petals and lights and candies. Got to enjoy the room for a little while before they got there. Very nice view from the 12th floor. You could see the ocean!

Review 50:The location was good from a logistics viewpoint, but terrible from a noise perspective. Our rooms were directly beside and virtually on top of Interstate 405. The traffic did not stop through the night and we were unable to sleep due to big trucks, cars and loud motorcycles constantly going by. Also, the bathroom was very small and the door had a see through clouded glass window with next to no privacy. These rooms are okay for one or two people, but definitely not enough room for a family with more than one suitcase.

Review 51:The staff were very courteous, friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very clean.

Review 52:you need to remove the upper level of liquor bottles in 17th floor bar it ruins the view....move em UP or put them somewhere else. I'm tall. you have a killer bar view over los angeles and the ocean but you destroy with liquor bottles blocking the view. love liquor bottles but not with a view like yours. figure it out and you'll be killer

Review 53:location location location one of the best view top floor restaurants/bars in all los angeles right on OJ Simpson escape exit ramp!!!

Review 54:We didn't have a bad experience at all we just wish there was a hot tub and a fan in the bathroom. :) Room was alittle tight but regardless we would stay here again for sure

Review 55:Great location. Great price. Staff was attentive and helpful.

Review 56:Minor inconvenience to be considered on Fridays and Saturday nights when the nightlife is hopping. This results in a delay entering the driveway. Minor.

Review 57:The parking staff was swift, friendly, and the parking was free! Access to the 405 was instantaneous, WiFi strong, very close and easily accessible to UCLA via Sunset Blvd. Cute, clean, comfy rooms! Next time I hope to have more time for the restaurant experience.

Review 58:Breakfast in the West restaurant on the 17th floor. Terrible. Slow service. Staff half asleep. Got the order wrong and coffee and toast cold.

Review 59:Lovely hotel. Very clean and staff friendly and helpful. The complementary wine hour in the evening was a really nice touch. Edith on Reception was great. Went the extra mile to make my stay enjoyable. Lovely personality, friendly, kind and extremely helpful.

Review 60:Internet was slow and only valid for 24 hours. Location was in the middle of nowhere and we had to cab everywhere.

Review 61:The room was clean and comfortable. Hotel was quiet and ensured a good night's sleep.

Review 62:Right on the freeway, the noise is awful you don't want to open the window ! The rooms are pretty small and no isolation between the bathroom/toilet and the rest of the room.

Review 63:Rooms are clean, the beds are good, free parking. Fast access to santa monica and palisades. Correct if you go alone for one night in business purposes.

Review 64:It's like living in the middle of a freeway. Fortunately I was on the 9th floor so the freeway was at a bit of distance. No neighborhood to walk in.

Review 65:Very good food in restaurant with a view! Warm and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room.

Review 66:Overall, the staff was very nice. They probably should have a chat with their hostesses on how to not be rude to guests. They seemed to be wannabe actresses who assessed their guests very quickly to determine who might be important and who isn't. Came off as shallow and unprofessional.

Review 67:Good location

Review 68:The rudeness of the reservation specialist who did not explain clearly what booking.com meant $25 per person for breakfast. Her name is cara n she walked bare feet n yelled at us. Then she retreated to her office.

Review 69:The valet parking staff r excellent so are the crew that fix the safe, coffee maker, robes, fridge, hangers

Review 70:Charged over $40 for room service we didn't order and after numerous calls and messages nothing has been done about it. Funnily we were charged for bacon when we are Muslim.

Review 71:The valets

Review 72:Fridge was connected to wall switch. When you turned the desk light off you turned the fridge off! Cafe(convenience store) not opened as listed.

Review 73:Shuttle bus drivers were great. Room service food was very good. Liked coming back to a glass of wine in the evening.

Review 74:Way too expensive for the room you're getting

Review 75:Beautiful hotel! But for 200 bucks a night the room was incredibly small! Very pricey and in a great neighborhood but way too expensive for a couple 20 year olds on vacation

Review 76:Limited shuttle service, limited gym facilities, and nothing really within walking distance.

Review 77:The location was great - very convenient (located close to UCLA, the 405 highway, West Hollywood). Designed so that you get privacy from the highway and street.

Review 78:Did not like location. Too isolated. Arrived at 8am in the morning from a fifteen hour flight and could not access a room or any facilities until 3.30 in the afternoon.

Review 79:The bar upstairs had slow service for food.

Review 80:The hotel was in a great location, especially for reaching Santa Monica and Six Flags (which we had planned to do). The wine-mingle was also excellent; during our first night we received a fantastic restaurant recommendation too.

Review 81:We were on the 8th floor but stıll there was highway noise . It didn't keep me awake but light sleepers might want to book a room on the top floors. The hotel had free parking but it was valet only. I wasn't familiar with the system and got confused if I had to tip all the time. As I had to get in and out often I felt uncomfortable.

Review 82:The room and beds , the pool -even though it was small I used it once-, the food at the restaurant, the reception desk staff, proximity to UCLA

Review 83:The freeway at times is a bit too noisy, it is impossible to keep windows open overnight.

Review 84:Nicely managed hotel, very clean and comfortable rooms, courteous and efficient complementary valet parking attendants. Close to UCLA, easily accessible from the freeway.

Review 85:The side of the 405 is terrible loud. I could almost not sleep. Next night, I got moved to the backside- a lot better but still you hear the highway.

Review 86:More trained people in reception to cut waiting in check in. Give more lock in cleaning the rooms, fix third elevator

Review 87:Location perfect, most staff nice, valley staff nice,

Review 88:The ONLY gripe we had was the noise from the freeway below the hotel.... but that is the only one.

Review 89:Pretty much everything. Particular cheerios to Paul and Eric in the bar... they looked after us very well and seemed genuinely pleased to do so. Valet parking was excellent.

Review 90:A little noisy room, because of the San Diego Fwy is "never sleeps"

Review 91:Great location. Very close to Bel Air, Beverly Hills & UCLA. Hotel & Valet parking staff was very friendly & helpful.

Review 92:We arrived before our room was ready and they offered us a complimentary ride to the Getty. They also had free valet parking and we got a $25 credit towards breakfast. The hotel was easy to get to and close to our event. Really great experience.

Review 93:The noise from the motorway. I could count 41 different lanes of traffic from my window facing Santa Monica. Quite far from the coast. More of a hotel for business people. The valet parking when the car park is only yards away.

Review 94:Comfortable hotel with all the bits and pieces one would expect for the price.

Review 95:Hotel was by far the most expensive room I stayed in in america and definitely not the nicest one. Also had an issue with the valet. After a long exhausting day I returned to my hotel to an angry ill mannered valet who wasn't helpful at all. and considering there was no self parking i would expect the Valet service to be better.

Review 96:Hotel room was nice enough

Review 97:The room was a little old, though comfortable.

Review 98:Location is excellent. Can get on the freeway very easily and close enough to the major streets the best parts of LA.

Review 99:Its a nice hotel but the location right at the side of the 405 makes it feel a bit 'industrial'. The room is noisy, either the AC or the traffic, take your pick For the money I think I'd rather pay the little bit extra and stay further into LA.

Review 100:The room is very comfortable and the restaurant was very good

Review 101:None, every aspect of the hotel was superior.

Review 102:We have traveled widely and have experience with hotels around the world. Our stay, 5 nights in August, at the Angeleno was one of the best. The accommodations were superior, the staff could not me more polite and accommodating. For us the location was great as we have family in the area.

Review 103:The worst hotel ever. 1. A.C unit was noisy 2. The bed was not clean and not comfortable 3. The toilet was not working properly 4. You should wait more than 2 min for the elevator. 5. The restaurant price is expensive. 6. Old facilities. 7. WiFi is free but too slow

Review 104:Valet parking. Location is near to the HW.

Review 105:I was a bit concerned about noise from the highway, since the hotel borders the 405, but it was the very loud A/C that kept me up until I turned it off. Which made the room a bit uncomfortable in the morning, but at least I got some sleep.

Review 106:Loved the views from West Restaurant, and the fantastic menu!

Review 107:no breakfast buffet (but delicious à la carte meals)

Review 108:excellent location close to Getty Center, I405 and Sunset Blvd, restaurant with great view and good food

Review 109:The water pitcher in the work out room was refilled without being washed and with old fruit.

Review 110:The staff were amazing and kind. We were very pleased with the valets people and the check in people. All were very helpful and nice.

Review 111:Great location off highway and Sunset Blvd! Met my needs for short stay in clean room and friendly staff! Appreciated the free valet for my rental car! Will stay again!

Review 112:Lifts slow and always busy. No poolside restrooms.

Review 113:Excellent location and there were amazing views of LA from every window angle. Clean modern facilities and a comfortable relaxing pool area.

Review 114:Very friendly personnel, always willing to help and provide information. Great location in LA with many important and touristic sites near by or accessible through 405.

Review 115:There was no Shower curtain in our bathroom so every time we showered the whole place got soaking wet.. Very noisy with traffic all night in our side of the hotel so got no sleep.. Dinner was very expensive also..

Review 116:The hotel's location.. Its far from everywhere.. Anywhere I wanted to go was minimum 20minutes drive away.. Even nearest starbucks is 5minutes drive (not walk).z

Review 117:courteous staff, nice room size

Review 118:I did not like the valet service, having to wait was a nuisance.

Review 119:The location was perfect; I chose this place because my niece had volleyball camp at UCLA. Shopping and restaurants were nearby and convenient.

Review 120:Room was filthy Bathroom floor hadn't been washed. stains obvious from previous occupant. Tabletops dusty Handprint on the patio door No tea making facilities Noise was terrible, looking out onto the highway. Opening patio door, you would think you were on the actual highway. No Breakfast facilities other than a bar with croissants/bagels/coffee Cups in room were not clean. Stains on bottom of the cup Clothes hangers lying on the floor upon arrival Staff 'pre authorize' an extra $50 on top of your room charge when you arrive 'just incase' you order room service Pool was not clean Staff were slow responding to queries Severe lack of customer service Bottle of water charge per room $5 and it's not chilled

Review 121:Linen clean Bed Comfortable Shuttle service useful but, just operates within 3 mile radius

Review 122:We had a great weekend celebrating our daughter's graduation. The hotel was our go-to hotel for four years. We'll miss it. Always had a good experience there.

Review 123:Location was a bit far out from the beaches but we had discounted cab service anyway.

Review 124:Staff excellent. They couldn't have been more helpful and generous. Wonderful people, especially Tim at reception. Comfortable bed. Highlight also breakfast delivered to the room, great value for money.

Review 125:The room was very nice but a little cramped for four people. Would be more than enough room for a couple.

Review 126:Excellent location just off of Sunset Boulevard and the 405 Freeway. You are also within walking distance of the Getty. The room and facilities were very nice. Had a wonderful breakfast at the West restaurant with great views of the city.

Review 127:The bathtub.

Review 128:The location, close to 405 highway and to my family (: Suitable if you rent a car. The staff was very friendly and obliging, the complimentary car park with valet was very convenient. The room spacious and comfortable. The views from the restaurant are great.

Review 129:They advertise it as free WIFI, but it's only free for enough bandwidth to check email. Any other web browsing costs extra money per day. I booked this specifically for the "free" wifi since I need internet to run my business, but was disappointed to find out it costs extra.

Review 130:Great staff, clean room, comfortable bed, good shower, convenient location, free valet parking.

Review 131:freeway side was exceptionally noisy. not Bad with sliding glass door closed.

Review 132:excellent food, pleasant people. I'm taking suite for me and my wife next week. we keep different hours.

Review 133:A very rude night receptionist who didn't bother to check our booking properly and literally told us to 'stand in the corner and call Booking.com as we do not have a booking' . He went on to ridicule us for using a third party website to book instead of going directly to the hotel. And as the hotel was fully booked, we should go stand in the corner and sort things out with Booking.com!! All this happening after a tiring flight and arriving at 10pm!! It was only after I insisted that I had not only had email confirmation of my booking , but an email a week prior; welcoming me to the hotel; that he bothered to check my booking confirmation again.. And muttered something that the reservation just appeared on his computer !!! And not a word of apology ! I had to tell him that : if not for Booking.com; we, travelers from faraway Singapore, will not know that his hotel existed!!! Having used websites like yours for many years without any problems, I was disgusted and appalled by this rude man in a suit.. Should have noted his name.. But was too exhausted and upset to think of complaining .

Review 134:Praise for Scott, driver of the free shuttle to UCLA; Haig, driver of the airport transfer; Edith, and Michaek ,the receptionists who were very friendly and helpful

Review 135:Inpolite and not kind staffs. Vallet parking is actually not complimentary. Extremely high taxes which is almost 20% of total fee.

Review 136:Close to UCLA and westwood

Review 137:breakfast was very expensive for the quality you got, very bland & mediocre quality food.

Review 138:Liked the free valet parking and the proximity of the freeway , the room was clean and the streetnoise wasn't too bad
