Reviews for Econo Lodge Kansas City Downtown North

Review 1:Luckily for us we had a car to get around as not a lot to do close to Econo lodge

Review 2:1 night stay and on arrival the staff were fantastic, very helpful with what to do during our short visit.

Review 3:It was not far from downtown and the price was very affordable :) it's very clean and the staff is nice and friendly, will come back there again for sure!!!

Review 4:Very very clean with great price. There was not a pool so I gave a 3 on facilities but otherwise a wonderful value. We will stay again when visiting IHOP.

Review 5:The ice machine didn't work, no soda machine, the smoke detector was disconnected, blow dryer in the room was broke, the TV remote didn't work and my towels smelled like smoke in a non-smoking room. GROSS!!! Corporate office will be receiving a call.

Review 6:the room was clean and that is about it.

Review 7:Nothing to list! Was a great experience and value for the money.

Review 8:The room was located near the back of the property and was surprisingly quiet given the close proximity to the Highway. Great service from the friendly hotel staff. Great value for the money

Review 9:Location has no restaurants nearby other than fast food

Review 10:Located near major interstates and a direct route to downtown KC...staff was friendly and room was clean...overall it was a lot better than expected

Review 11:My room was right next to the staff's supply room and their voices were very loud late in the evening, making it hard to fall asleep. My room also overlooked the rear parking lot and there were multiple car alarms going off late in the evening.

Review 12:I received a ground floor room as requested and the room was smoke free.

Review 13:That booking.com didn't send my confirmed reservation to the hotel. Which put my friend and I behind on our sight seeing. But it wasn't the hotels fault.

Review 14:Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were great and beds were super comfy.

Review 15:Facility was dated (still cared for) No other complaints

Review 16:--Location was ideal for enjoying North Kansas City micro breweries and still affording an Uber to the airport. -- Room amenities were comfortable and clean.

Review 17:The bedsheets had a very strong smell of bleach which made it hard for me to fall asleep. There were way too many pillows on the bed. The air conditioner got too cold.

Review 18:The attendents were very nice. Breakfast was as good as we would have had at home. it was close to the places we wanted to go.

Review 19:The staff at the front desk completely ignored me when I came in; they talked to each other while I stared at them, waiting for service. Someone propped a side door open with a rock, and it was still there the next morning. Bad security. The smoke alarm in our room had been tampered with.

Review 20:The bed was nice, and the bathroom was clean.

Review 21:half a star-- Not 2.5 Sketchy area. Parking lot was not well lit. Room was much smaller than the pictures and smelled heavily of cigarette smoke (in a non-smoking room) overall the room wasn't very clean. The "breakfast" was all bread, muffins, pastries... nothing but starches

Review 22:It was somewhat cheap

Review 23:The only thing I can think of being remotely dissatisfied with was that there were not really a lot of healthy options with the free breakfast--but this is a small price to pay for the value received (and there are places to buy fruits and vegetables a short drive away)

Review 24:The staff was very accommodating and helpful, the facilities were more than adequate, the location--while not right downtown--was just fine being right off the freeway (and there were plenty of places to eat in the vicinity).

Review 25:Could hear everything from room, including other guests, staff, police cars and a train. It also took 20 plus minutes to get any where in the town.

Review 26:The room was affordable, staff was friendly and helpful. Considering the price it is a great place to stay.

Review 27:Breakfast is a joke. You get the toaster and butter without any bread or pastries. Only basic drink, cereal and wafer are available. Guests have to queue up for making wafer. Hallway is smelly.

Review 28:Near to shops and restaurants.

Review 29:Complimentary continental breakfast was all carbohydrate. You need to add some fruit and protein. Yogurt, cream cheese spread, boiled eggs or peanut butter packets would provide some balance to the heavily carb loaded menu.

Review 30:Friendly staff, nice room

Review 31:Friendly, professional staff. The room was clean and well maintained. The free breakfast was average. We would stay again. Good lodging for the price.

Review 32:I liked it all, but you need at least two chairs in the room

Review 33:It was clean, and the front desk help were excellent, and I love that you are pet friendly

Review 34:My first room the smell hurt my head and the cable didn't work. Second room sheets and comforter were not clean and a slight smell. MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN ALL SHEETS AND BLANKETS, WOULD HELP SO SO MUCH!!!!!

Review 35:I liked the price and the front desk clerk was very helpful.

Review 36:We stay in comparably priced hotels probably forty times a year, and this one was the worst we've stayed in. The toilet barely functioned, there was no Wi-Fi, there were some obvious cleanable stains on the bathroom walls, a hole burned in the comforter, and a breakfast bar that was in need of restocking but not being attended to. I'm not saying it was hell on earth, but it seems like the owners/management are trying to cut costs in ways that will not benefit them in the long run.

Review 37:It was the cheapest hotel on the site in proximity to downtown. Good freeway access. Friendly staff.

Review 38:One thing that totally upset me was the failure to have the room I reserved, two months in advance wasn't available and my booking with the hotel, was entirely different from what booking.com and the hotel communicated to each other. I have for a smoking room with a queen sized bed and got a non smoking with two beds.

Review 39:Bathrooms were dirty As a group of four woman traveling I didn't feel to safe walking to my car, place wasn't very lit at night. Also, as a group of four woman I didn't like the idea that we were put right at the front desk room. I felt we were placed there to keep an eye on who came in and out of the room. I felt as though we were being watched. They never asked if I prefer an upstairs room or downstairs. When I went in to pay I was going to do so in cash, however, they ran my card before I even arrived or even confirmed if that is what I wanted.

Review 40:Left my cell phone and they mailed it to me!! Staff was super duper sweet and was able to provide items I needed that I left behind. Location was pretty good. Big bonus to have Denny's right across the street. I needed a later check out and they provided that to me with no problems.

Review 41:The bathroom floor was filthy and the shower curtain wasn't clean

Review 42:We enjoyed having a fridge and microwave and being on top floor with an accessible elevator!

Review 43:the hotel had a moist smell from the time that you walked in. the Rooms were very small and had bugs flying in the room. There was no table in the room and the bedding felt damp. the Breakfast fell way short of what you normally get. I well not use Econo Lodge again

Review 47:room is clean and people are good

Review 48:A little loud

Review 50:Cigarette burn hole in sheets.

Review 51:To far away from our place that we needed.

Review 52:The personal service from the gentleman who registered us and we was there with us

Review 53:the pancake machine was not working properly. and the Zink in the room was clog

Review 54:I liked the comfort and quieted.

Review 55:I will eliminate the rug from the elevator and install tiles

Review 56:It was perfect the area for me very accessible

Review 57:And I think the carpets need some cleaning. :(

Review 58:Everything was great but it just needed a little more effort in the cleaning.

Review 70:Great location. Within driving distance to museums and ballpark.

Review 71:Shawn at the front desk was great!!!

Review 72:Room was clean and linens were great! Location was convenient and had many choices for eating and fuel nearby.

Review 73:Booked king size got smaller

Review 74:Easy to find

Review 75:TV wasn't very loud

Review 76:Close to everything

Review 77:The bathroom was kind of small but that's what I'm used to :)

Review 78:I liked the size of the room and the fact that it had a safe in it.

Review 79:Everything was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and the free breakfast great!

Review 80:Very quick and easy on and off freeways to all points.

Review 81:Location was great-close to highway entrance and downtown. Staff was great. Room was adequate and clean.

Review 82:The breakfast consisted of two cereals, two options of pastries, and coffee. Their waffle machine was broken. Their wifi was also not working. All in all, you could probably find another hotel with much better quality somewhere else.

Review 83:Dirty bathroom staff was not friendly and dressed in street clothes. They were more interested in talking with each other than us. gavve us the wrong room at first. wont be back and wont recommend. clean it up

Review 84:Location only

Review 85:No comment

Review 86:Clean!

Review 87:The staff was horrible, besides Jessica. The a/c didn't work and the room had bugs.

Review 88:The location was perfect.

Review 96:The key to our room aS given to another couple at the desk and theywalked in on my wife and I. Very bad and left us.unhappy

Review 97:The rooms were musty smelling and a bit small.

Review 98:Gal at front desk was very helpful with giving us directions to a placewe wanted to see.
