Reviews for Saray Hotel
Review 1:Staff attitude was terrible, poor quality decor, complete lack of English speakers. Worst hotel I have stayed at. And it was most expensive. Complete rip off.
Review 2:Location was good
Review 3:No lift - but it's only 3 flights up to breakfast from the first floor rooms.
Review 4:Staff, room and Wifi all excellent. During very cold weather (-7C) the room was very warm and the hot water and all shower room appliances were better than OK. Position is almost in the main shopping area - just a few minutes walk. Must try the liver in the local restaurants!!
Review 5:Little English was spoken at the hotel.
Review 6:This hotel exceeded my expectations given the mixed reviews I had read. The room was large (I had been given a free upgrade) and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and it's location was perfect, just off the main pedestrian mall. The man in the tourist office speaks good English and is very helpful.
Review 7:The single room was very narrow and not spacious.
Review 8:The hotel's location is excellent where you can reach most of the attractive places on foot. The staff was cooperative and helpful. Many thanks to Qadir for his continuous support and guidance.
Review 9:Will always recommend this hotel because of its perfect location, nice and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms and the nice view from the breakfast salon.
Review 10:Nothing

Review 20:Cramped bathroom
Review 21:Right near pedestrian area, great restaurants.
Review 22:Command in English but basic words could be exchanged
Review 23:Good Internet connection. Great City view from restaurant trrace.
Review 24:Friendly and helpfull staff that hardly speaks english though. Beautiful view from the roof restaurant for breakfast.
Review 25:Rooms are not clean Bath is dirty Breakfast is not enough and rich
Review 26:It is in the city center Price is normal
Review 27:Excellent value for money and very helpful staff.
Review 28:The rooms at the street side are a little noisy if you would like to keep the window open for fresh air.
Review 29:Perfect location in the city centre, nice and helpful stuff, clean and cosy rooms.
Review 30:The interior was clean, but can be described as slightly outdated. The staff, although friendly, didn't speak any english.
Review 31:Great location, next to the central attractions, 3 mins walk away from Selimiye Mosque. The hotel is clean, the terras for the breakfast offers a great view over the city.
Review 32:Simple nothing
Review 33:We had stayed just one night in this hotel, but very pleasant stay. The room was nice and clean, staff very polite and helpful. And location is excellent, central part of Edirne, very close to Selimiye mosque and all historical sites. Definitely, it is worth the money, and we would stay here again.
Review 34:Beware of the parking attendant - he might ask you to pay for the parking although he knows it is free when you stay at the hotel.
Review 35:Nice people, good wifi, great city. Free parking!
Review 36:Not so keen on the carpet and wall paper combo, think trying to create more homey atmosphere not sure it worked, but all clean :)
Review 37:Reception staff where great. I left my coat in my room and they came straight away with it
Review 38:1. Very poor hotel2. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR. 3. THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY POOR. 4. NO ENGLISH SPEACER IN THE STAF AND IT WAS HARD TO COMMUNICATE WITH
Review 39:1.The location of the hotel. It is located in the midle of the center of the town with easy access to the market and the monuments.2. THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND THE STAF FRIENDLY
Review 40:No big complaints. Wifi could have been faster, room could have smelled nicer.
Review 41:The hotel's greatest asset is breakfast terrace on the roof. The view is amazing. Otherwise it is good standard hotel, good value for money. Free parking.
Review 42:To begin..1. the TV did not work when I turned it on; man came up and tried to fix, he couldn't fix. 2. the mini-bar fridge did not work, man couldn't get that to work either.3. 2 lights out in the bathroom. I insisted upon a room change so gave me room #308 (I was in 314). It had a distinct odor of someone having been smoking in the bathroom; awful smell. 4. there wasn't even a comforter or blanket, not even a top sheet, just a thin sheet for covering. 5. Noise in the hallways until late in evening (12:00 a.m.). I would not recommend this place, nor would I stay at this place again.
Review 43:The bed was comfortable...the only thing good about this room.
Review 44:Only a very small thing - we had a little trouble getting WIFI sometimes in our room as we were staying right at the end of the corridor. However, the signal was perfect from the lobby and breakfast room so didnt at all bother us.
Review 45:We absolutely loved the location. Right in the heart of the most historic area of Edirne. 5 mins walk to the beautiful Selimiye Mosque and only 2 mins from the covered bazaar. We arrived very early 0930hrs as we had caught an overnight bus and we expected to have to leave our bags and return later in the day for check in. However the staff on the front desk asked us to sit in the lobby while they hurriedly cleaned a room for us and we were all checked in (and sleeping!!) by 10. We were so thankful. The rooms are very spacious and had a nice big wardrobe for storage. The large bed was really comfortable and in front of our window we had a nice table and chairs to sit at. The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate. For the price we paid, we were not complaining. Breakfast was simple, but again, an added bonus considering the price. The view from the breakfast room was also really nice. If we ever return to Edirne on a budget, I would not hesitate to stay again. Directions from main bus station: The taxi drivers quoted us 20 lira but we ended up getting a dolmus bus for 2 lira each. Once you get off the dolmus it's only a 5-10 min walk. We took a bus from Edirne to Istanbul and there are free transfers back to the main bus station from the city centre if you use Metro bus company. The free service leaves from the station just near Selimiye Mosque.
Review 46:Although parking outside the hotel was already used up when we arrived, one of the staff took us to a public car park by the side of the hotel and persuaded the taxi drivers to let us park amongst them. We needed to resume our journey early the next day, the owner arranged for breakfast to be served half an hour before the usual time. Rooms were clean, the hotel was was in the middle if the city but was still fairly quiet.
Review 47:Over priced. No elevator to 4th floor breakfast nor to any other floor! The photo used for advertisement misrepresents the entrance. The hotel lobby is quite small.
Review 48:Not much
Review 49:The staff was not very friendly. They didn't speak any English, which was fine (I didn't meet anyone in Edirne who did), but still not a plus. The worst was that they required my passport as collateral for my room key. They just put it in a drawer in the front desk until I checked out the next day. I thought that was outrageous; I spent a month in Turkey and this was the only place that made me do this. I don't know if this is the norm for hotels in Edirne, or if you could use some other form of ID as collateral, but I thought this was bad enough that I'd reccommend you'd shop around a bit. Don't part with your passport for that long!
Review 50:Centrally located, oddly comfortable bed, a little pricey for budget travellers, but still not too bad. The breakfast terrace at the top has phenomenal views of Edirne and the Selimye Mosque. Almost worth going to the hotel just for the terrace. Breakfast is a self-serve Turkish breakfast (tea, all-you-can-eat bread and honey, cheese, cucumbers, etc) which was included and was fine, but the view was gorgeous. I got more or less what I paid for: the bathroom was very small, the room smelled a little funny, the street noise was a little loud. I don't mind that: the bed was clean and all the sights were within walking distance.
Review 51:Sometimes the wi-fi was incredibly low or out for a while.
Review 52:It was just 150 metres from the main shopping street. At the same time it's in a quiet location and there is an excellent view of the city from the breakfast lounge on the top floor. The rooms are large enough and comfortable.
Review 53:It was difficult to communicate with the staff because they didn't speak English. The bathroom had a large water leak from the toilet that I kept having to mop up with towels.
Review 54:This was the cheapest hotel I could find in Edirne. The bed was really comfortable, the room was clean, and the manager was helpful.
Review 55:The overall impression tends to be less than what this place actually is, mainly because many amenities are worn out and with an older look. Staff hardly speaks any foreign language.
Review 56:This hotel is located on the pedestrian area of downtown Edirne, yet is accessible by car and offers free parking. The rooms are basic but clean and comfy. Friendly staff, good breakfast, great view from the terrace were breakfast is served.
Review 57:Some renovation work going on during my stay but not a najor problem
Review 58:Almost everything. Great location, near pedestrian street with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. Walking distance to most main tourist sites in Edirne. Friendly, helpful staff even if English was limited. Very nice, clean, comfortable room. Good wifi connection in room. Good breakfast served on rooftop terrace with nice view over town. Overall, given the price and location, I was very happy with this place and can highly recommend.
Review 59:My room was at the far end so wifi signal was a bit weak.
Review 60:I like this hotel very much! Newly renovated, my room was at the corner so I had windows at 2 sides, nice Turkish style furniture, spacious. My car was parked right outside of the main entrance that I felt very safe. A walking street was just round the corner with a lot to see & eat. I booked this hotel meant to have a short drive to stop for a night after crossing from Bulgaria, I didn't expect much but turned out a very nice hotel in a very nice city with a lot to offer.
Review 61:close to center of town and not far from mosques, etc.
Review 62:Location.
Review 63:During the three days none of the maids did not come to clean the room and change of underwear.

Review 68:Simple, but fine for an overnight. Practical to get to and from airport.
Review 69:I asked to check in at 10.00 AM, no problem
Review 70:the personal didn't speak much english
Review 71:location
Review 72:Nobody spoke a word of English, (but I got by just fine.)
Review 73:It was very clean and right in the heart of the market district.
Review 74:View from breakfast lounge
Review 75:Good turkish breakfast, nice quite big but old room with tv and air-condition. Nice terrace.
Review 76:nice breakfast
Review 77:No cornflakes for breakfast or brown bread.
Review 78:Hotel has great location. Staff is very friendly. Nice terrace for breakfast . Rooms are very clean.
