Review 1：The room and bathroom were cold and we had to keep turning up the heat.

Review 2：Friendly staff, great price, comfortable beds clean room, coffee pot in room, continental breakfast. I left an outfit there and I called and they kept for me. Said they keep for 30 days to see if contacted by owners of items left behind.

Review 3：when the neighbors next door took a shower it sounded like my heater was acting up and then they turned off the shower sounded like something broke.

Review 11：Mold in the bathroom. Lumpy beds with springs and wire poking into myback. Loud -- heard cleaning peoples carts all morning and peopletalking all night. Freezing! The small heater was turned up to 99degrees and still we were so cold. The lock was ripped off the door.This room was so bad that I forfeited my 2nd nights money (and I donthave much to spare!) to move to another hotel.

Review 23：When we checked in, a very strong odor from food cooking. I think it was curry and I'm very sensitive to certain smells. At breakfast time it wasn't too bad.

Review 25：The outside does not look as fine as the rooms are indeed. I do not like hotels with the door facing the street. Location is not the best if you dont have a car. No gym nor pool. Prices increase sometimes (like weekend). Chairs are not very comfortable in case you have to work. The TV shuts off for an instanct sometimes. Rooms are nice, but the hotel itself is not in the same level

Review 26：Comfortable room, spacious, good bed, entire room is absolutely clean, big flat TV with Direct tv and cinema channels included, good shower. Free wifi but hace to enter the code every time. The man of the reception is cool. Free easy parking. Faucet outside the WC room. Fridge, microwaves, AC. Good room for a fair price about 50$

Review 30：It had a very strange combination of colors and deco, very out dated. Carpet older. Soaps and shampoos very very cheap, you would only use it if you were homeless. It did look like they were try to do a few upgrades but they need to look at a few modern hotel ideas in magazines. It could look much better with changes in paint colors and bedding.

Review 33：Very friendly and helpful staff every time we stopped by the front desk. Big, clean room with a very comfortable bed. Great breakfast with yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Everything was very clean. Cannot beat the value.

Review 35：We didn't have breakfast, but for the money, it was very comfortable. We had stayed there 43 years ago when we were young and it was much nicer this time.

Review 36：The only thing I didn't like was the faint smell of smoke, like it used to be a smoking room and they just couldn't get the slight odor out completely. A plug-in air freshener was in the room to try to cover the smell, but I had to unplug that, as I'm sensitive to those air freshener devices. Many hotels in this price range have an issue with a slight smokey smell, so it wasn't a deal breaker.

Review 37：The room was very quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the staff super friendly. Nice room for the money.

Review 38：Nothing. I always stay here when I pass through Lawrence. You cannot do better for the price. Even places a little pricier are not as nice as this place. The only downside is that your room door opens directly to the street, but in Lawrence I have never considered this to be a problem.

Review 41：Great value for money - I decided on the Virginia Inn by the reviews and was not disappointed. Doesn't look like much from the outside but our room was great - spacious and clean, cosy bed, functioning air con., a refrigerator and microwave. The gentleman at the desk was helpful and attentive. The breakfast is simple but good. Cereals, oatmeal, whole fruit, various flavored yogurts, hard boiled eggs, pastries, breakfast bars, coffee and orange juice. It's less than a 5min drive to the main strip in town. I'd stay again for sure.

Really liked the placement of the A/C unit - well away from the beds and really quiet running. But the room was always cool, which given the 100+ temps was appreciated.

Review 51：Front desk guy not that friendly but not a jerk either. Room and bathroom clean. The mirrors in the room were hung crooked, the one above the sink and the full length mirror in the room. If you are OCD this could be a problem, but didn't bother me a bit. We just laughed.

Review 53：The manager was very nosey. He insisted that I tell him why I was in town. I am a business professional so not exactly a shady looking person. On the second day I witnessed him entering several rooms. I asked him if there was a problem. He said the baskets are no good. When I got back to the room the only basket I could see was a very small one where the soap was placed on the vanity. Hmmmmm strange guy. But, I have to say I slept well because it was quiet and conviniently located near campus.

No where on my emailed confirmation did it say I would need the hotel's "approval" to cancel one of my nights,which I wanted to do because it turned out I didn't need to stay two nights. I'm extremely dissatisfied about having to pay an additional $130 for a night I didn't need. I'm also unhappy that your hotel jacks up it's rates when there are university events going on. I may not stay again.

Review 70：Don't judge a book by its cover, trust the excellent reviews. Icannot say enough good things about this establishmemt. I have paidupwards of 5x this price and not been nearly as pleased with theaccommodations. Extreme cleanliness, upscale furnishings inside, safeenvironment, option for adjoining rooms, and wonderful hosts.

Review 72：This is the 2nd time in 2 months that we have stayed here. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean, updated and the beds are VERY comfortable!! We had 2 different rooms, one with 2 queens and the king spa room (amazing!). Neither one were disappointing!! Will be staying again!!!

Review 73：The breakfast was minimal. Nothing hot except coffee. Yogurt, danish, toast and hard boiled eggs. Not a huge deal, we went out for breakfast again. I did find a dirty pair of socks though, one in a corner and the other sock under the bed. Not a big deal, I tossed em but not sure how housekeeping missed them. The rest seemed pretty clean. The sheets looked clean which is more important to me.

Review 74：The rooms were big. 2 beds, a desk and a small dining table. Huge flat screens with ALL the kid channels probably all the other direct TV channels too, but I have 2 year olds that love 'their' shows.

Review 91：There are a couple of great places to eat really close by, like Biemer's BBQ and The Merc (a co-op market). The price of the room is very reasonable.

Review 93：We read the other reviews, so decided to give it a shot. The reviews were spot on! The place looks old on the outside, but it was super clean all the way around. Everything had been updated inside and all was really clean as well. The owner was A SUPER NICE & PERSONABLE GUY! We can tell this man cares about his business by how he treated us and how he put money back into the facilities in updating and keeping them clean. The large shower head was amazing! We did not partake of the free breakfast, so cannot comment on that. We will definitely stay there again!

Review 129：Normally at the price I paid for my room I wouldn't expect much but I was so pleasantly surprised by this place and would almost make another trip to Lawrence just so I can stay here again. -The staff are over the top nice and sweet and very comforting. -This place was one of the cleanest rooms I've ever had. Cleaner than most rooms I've paid for that were in the $80 range. -It was incredibly quiet morning, noon and night. I almost didn't wake up for checkout it was so quiet! It was the first hotel I've ever stayed in that was actually quiet at all hours and wasn't riddled with doors slamming in the morning or people just in general being loud. It is near a major thoroughfare in Lawrence but the rooms face away from the highway and that makes a HUGE difference. -The outside of the Inn doesn't look like much at all. Even in the parking lot it looks like about what you'd expect for the price but the rooms are phenomenal and the location is quiet and safe and downtown is literally five minutes down the street. My friend stayed in a Holiday Inn nearby and from everything she described it sounded like I certainly made the better booking decision and got the better price! If you find yourself in Lawrence, KS DO book a room at this fine facility and revel in the money you saved and the peace of mind you gained! :)

Review 130：Breakfast could be more for the room cost, but good. Wi-Fi kept cutting out after 9pm. It was hard to stay connected.
