Reviews for Adrift Hotel
Review 1:Poor mattresses. I was in a big slump. Woke up very sore. Also, be prepared to wear the earplugs they offer if the wind is blowing. Whistles the entire night ( loud) because of lack of weather stripping around door jam.
Review 2:Staff and restaurant, view, and being able to bring our fur baby!
Review 3:This is a bit not-picky, but we got to the lobby on a cold evening and it was really quiet and there was a fireplace, but no fire. It just felt a little bit too quiet and a little cold, but the next day there was music in the lobby and it was warmer etc. seemed like we got there right during a shift change, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because the rest of our stay was great.
Review 4:Simple, clean, relaxed. This would sum up our very pleasant stay. My wife and I both Loved the room and the view; it is definitely a different feel from any hotel I've stayed in before. The restaurant was great with really good food, service, and the live music was great too. The decor is so cool and definitely a modern feel. Simple, clean, relaxed.
Review 5:We loved the closeness to the beach and walking distance to downtown. We could here the sound of the ocean from our room and the view was amazing. Everything was just perfect. The bed was very comfortable and I loved that there was no carpet. ..
Review 6:A basic motel with a good sized room and good facilities located just behind the beach dunes. The Pickled Fish restaurant at the top of the motel had good food, a warm atmosphere and excellent views.
Review 7:The room was awful, a motel type room that was not clean and looked out at the parking lot. I had stayed here before and the room was great but in the main building. This time we were in the annex which is really bad and had no idea we would end up there. This needs to be explained when you book, it's night and day.
Review 8:Location and an on site restaurant, coffee in the AM in the lobby
Review 9:I would have liked a closet in the room. Also, it would have been nice to have a hairdryer in the room and to not have to go ask for one. I'm not sure if there was even an option to check out later than 11 a.m. and I sure would have liked that. We traveled from Puyallup and arrived and 4:15 pm and to have to leave by 11 a.m. The next morning seemed like a super short stay. I wasn't ready to go!
Review 10:I liked all the things available for visitors- bikes, DVDs, the game room, board games, the EO bath line, and the complimentary beverages in the lobby.
Review 11:Room location, very loud outside window all night as well as outside the door. Staff was not very responsive to our issues with the room. Room service menu is very restrictive and they will not make Any substitutions.
Review 12:Location to the beach
Review 13:Disconnect between Booking.com reservation (room with a view) and actual room which was in the east bldg. Front desk staff gifted us a bottle of wine to try and make it right.
Review 14:Can't beat the location! This was our 3rd stay at the Adrift and we'll return- love the minimalist but elegant landscaping and décor and all the fun touches like infused water, coffee/tea, and munchies in the lobby.
Review 15:We loved everything. My family only stayed for one night and we wished we could have stayed longer. Very comfy/homey feeling, great staff, nice views. Can't wait to stay again. Very pet friendly as well.
Review 16:The beds weren't very comfortable would have loved a warmer comforter and not white!
Review 17:Everything was amazing!Loved the entire feel and easy going atmosphere of the hotel. The bon fire was our favorite! The decor was awesome!
Review 18:I am not a fan of memory foam mattress beds. Aside from that my experience was excellent in every way.
Review 19:I love the location, the overall feel the property provided, and especially loved to focus on sustainability and locally sourced products. Pickled fish was an excellent restaurant and we visited on multiple occasions during our three-day stay. But the facilites were very accommodating to our young family (we have an eight-month-old daughter and four-year-old son).
Review 20:None, everything was just wonderful. There were no problems, and we enjoyed everything.
Review 21:Small town ambiance, very friendly people. Meal in town were great. The shops were very reasonable. The bicycles were a great surprise.
Review 22:The beds were bare minimum, pillows basic. Fan for room is a box fan, no AC. Outdoor light scones on building are at second floor level and above each second floor room. They left the lights on all night. Need more drawers. Walls thin...pretty much can hear guests from multiple parts of building.
Review 23:Great location. Close to beach. Free bikes and really nice staff. Enjoyed the decor which was very simple...sort of urban steam punk minimalist. Excellent restaurant upstairs with great scenic view. Table games available. Quieter after 9 pm!
Review 24:Pillows, Lack of luggage carts, lack of 1 vehicle per room assigned parking? Too short of a stay... Waiting for a table for dinner.
Review 25:Location, Live music, Restaurant, Amenities in the lobby.
Review 26:The room was a little unusual. There was not one single inch of carpeting anywhere in the room, not even a throw rug in front of the sink area. Not sure what that was all about! There was a mini fridge, nice...but, the only microwave on the floor was in the game room down the hall from our room...again, unusual. We were able to request a coffee maker, however it came with 1 pkg of regular and 1 pkg of decaf...each pkg made 1 cup....so not even enough for 1 cup ea....still, unusual.
Review 27:The location and cleanliness of the room was very good. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great with lots of hot water.
Review 28:Too 'bare-bones"; not comfortable. Lighting in the room was horrible. Not nice at all. Room was VERY hot; no air-conditioning.
Review 29:Close to the beach and boardwalk.
Review 30:The beds were uncomfortable. Too hard and the pillows were huge. Woke up with a sore back.
Review 31:The location was great, staff was helpful, and all the extras like free DVDs and bikes were awesome. Also very kid friendly. We didn't feel bad bringing our 4 and 7 year olds to the restaurant.
Review 32:The biggest room for four people is too small. We left sooner than we planned due to the space.
Review 33:I love their pet policy. Loved they provide bikes. Very good coffee
Review 34:Restaurant was way overpriced, food wasn't that great, and it took forty minutes to get the check so we could leave.
Review 35:Pet friendliness. Staff ver helpful.
Review 36:The rooms were not equipped with hair dryer. You have to ask at the front desk. I thought that was basic. The pingpong rackets and the ping pong balls were in very poor condition. It seems like a waste to have the ping pong table available.
Review 37:We were happy about the convenient location and friendly staff. The free bike rental was great! We really enjoyed the ride along the bike trail at the beach.
Review 38:No A/C, 1 nightstand for a King size bed, light switch on opposite side of bed. Bare lamps with no shade. WiFi was spotty, more often than not we had no access. No elevators for second building, we were on the 3rd floor. Noisy.
Review 39:Close to the beach and Boardwalk, easy walk to tourist shops. Like the "Green" concept.
Review 40:Internet was basically nonexistent but to be honest it's a get away location not for work.
Review 41:The complementary bikes to ride on the ocean path. Friendliness of the staff. Rustic look of the hotel and rooms. The sign for quite hours. My partner loved the EO products! Closeness to parks and views!
Review 42:Staff was short was trying to explain it was our first time at hotel and the gal at desk seemed uninterested and short in conveersaton. Definitely lacking customer service
Review 43:Pickled fish
Review 44:bed was hard, sheets were scratchy, and décor was stark. I prefer a cozy feel to a place and this was very industrial looking, cold feel, although the room was hot - no air conditioning and it was a hot 3 days.
Review 45:location on the beach and being pet friendly
Review 46:I liked how close to town and the boardwalk we were and that there were bikes available. I like that it is pet friendly and will keep that in mind for future visits with my dog.
Review 47:No air conditioning, on the 2nd day the shower drain backed up, the hotel was loud on the second floor: dogs, people playing games and music playing until midnight, TV & DVD player didn't work (staff didn't respond to anything)
Review 48:Location to the beach and the bed was comfortable.
Review 49:For the price, I would expect at least a continental breakfast. But the coffee and flavored water was good. Was too eco friendly.
Review 50:It was nice and close to the beach. Close to downtown. Staff was accommodating.
Review 51:Very noisy, can hear outside noise and neighbors. Ping pong and shuffle board tables feet away from rooms. Second floor has recycling area, can hear the cans and bottles crashing into bins day and night. Barking dog in the hall did not help. Dirty room, stains on seating are and hair in mini frig. Only stayed one night could not stand a second night.
Review 52:Close to the beach.
Review 53:It's a bit expensive. Some of the front desk employees, while pleasant, are lacking higher-level customer service.
Review 54:Awesome location and nice amenities. It was great to get into the lobby at 6am, get some free coffee/tea and then head out to the beach for a morning walk. The free bikes were great and the hotel is also within walking distance to the town. The employees at the front desk were helpful.
Review 55:The only thing I noticed upon arrival were little hairs along the bottom of the bathtub where the caulking meets the floor. At first I wasn't sure what they were, but used a tissue and wiped them off. I should have mentioned it to someone there, but, alas, I did not. So, I guess my suggestion would be to make sure that area is looked at carefully when cleaning room. Otherwise, things were fine.
Review 56:We liked the access to the boardwalk and trails, and the free bike usage and wifi service. Ladies at front desk very professional and people friendly.
Review 57:The only thing that would be nicer is a few simple additions to the Pickled Fish menu for the kids breakfast. There was no option for just toast and jam for instance. One idea would be as the french toast is made with a nice cinnamon bread, they could easily toast it and serve plain or with butter.
Review 58:We really liked the location as it is right on the beach and close to the town. The room was simple and clean with two comfortable beds and free wifi. The non smoking rules are very refreshing and allowing pets is a nice feature. We took advantage of the cruiser bikes to tour around as well as the boardwalk for a stroll. A great value and if I can convince my kids to drive all the way again we'll stop and stay there for sure.
Review 59:I stayed for 2 nights. First night was great, nice quiet room in west tower. Second night, I stayed in the east tower. Room was not as clean and lots of noise outside of the room until 1am.
Review 60:Great location comfy beds. Nice restaurant. Great that there's free wifi and bike rentals.
Review 61:The refurbishing of some parts of the hotel is not completed Some of decoration details are too much "cheap" Wifi is free but poor speed
Review 62:An exceptional location, straight in front of the pacific sea Hotel bikes available for free; a great customer approach Bedding is correct High standard music live performances in the eveings (restaurant location)
Review 63:It was so nice to stay so close to the beach and have a great view from our room. Free (terrific) coffee and free bikes were a nice touch. The restaurant was terrific, the food and the view were amazing. The hotel staff was great, very helpful and relaxed. We would certainly stay here again!
Review 64:It's industrial chic. Concrete floors that could use swept on the main floor, but it is next to the beach and the free bicycles are stored in the lobby, so I'd give them a pass on that one .Two beds. One is probably a queen and the other is a room-width platform with a couple foam mattresses about as wide as a twin bed and bolsters. We had to ask for bedding for the second "bed." Got one pillow and one blanket but the big bed has 4 pillows. Packages of ear plugs on the rough-hewn "night stand". The ocean view -- set on one end of the platform bed and look sideways out the window over the parking lots and you can see the waves coming into a short section of the beach and a long stretch of open water over the top of the dune. No air conditioning, but a fan is provided. The TV is on a shelf made of a board setting on top of 3 pieces of pipe screwed into the wall. All the cords hang down behind it in full view. There's no reading lamp, just a single bulb in a wire cage coming out of a surface mounted conduit on the wall between the two beds. You can't turn it off or on without standing up Three wall-mounted shelves are rough boards A box shelf holds towels and toiletries in containers that are refilled. Scary. Pieces of trim next to the shower are cut out neatly to allow placement of switches. If I was paying hostel rates, or even a little more than Motel 6, I'd be pretty happy. Since I was lucky to get a weekend room in Long Beach in July, I'm still pretty happy.
Review 65:The Adrift is described as "chic" & "minimalist". Well, not so much. Better described as a well used beach side hotel, with a penchant towards homemade lowest cost features, from lighting, chairs, shelving & facilities. I have stayed in much more "chic" for much less.
Review 66:The location is great.
Review 67:noisy neighbors upstairs--please put families with kids on lower floors!
Review 68:Loved access to bikes, the citrus water in the lobby was nice too. Front desk people got us connected with massage therapist
Review 69:beds wheren't bad could of been more comfortable
Review 70:laid back acomadations staff very friendly very dog friendly bicycles to ride breakfast was just all we needed nice resaurant on location we parked our car when we arrived an we didn't need to go and get anything we are planing on going their for our aniversary in October can't wait to visit again would recommend to anyone that wants to escape for one night or a week. Enjoy
Review 71:Staff was cold and not very helpful.
Review 72:Everything! As a family this was our favorite hotel! Rooms have a verycool vibe. Amazing location right by the ocean! Body wash, soap, shampooand lotion were excellent! Great coffee!
Review 73:Noisy. Heard others overhead clearly due to no carpeting. Awkward floor covering held sand from previous travelers in its gaps. Unable to plug in hair dryer in front of bathroom mirror due to placement of outlet on the wall. Should have had hairdryer built in. Should have offered free breakfast.
Review 74:Helpful staff. Bikes, movies, books, and games available on the honor system. Partial view. Walking distance to the beach. Good cable and TV channels.
Review 75:There was no coffee in the room. We had to get dressed and go down to the lobby just to get coffee.
Review 76:The location was wonderful, the room was very clean.
Review 77:We had problem with the lock on our room door...very hard to unlock. The front desk sent someone to fix it...it was a little better afterwards.
Review 78:The location was very nice...really close to the beach. We had an awesome view of the beach from our room. Enjoyed the full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body gel & hand lotion...and loved that they were essential oil products!! The foam bed was very comfortable too!
Review 79:We arrived early and the front desk person was quite off-putting, not friendly at all. It took us aback. Did not care for the stairway or hallway to the second floor rooms in the separate building - it looked really ratty. Would have liked a place to put our clothes for our 2-night stay.
Review 80:The location is fantastic and the price was fair. Thank you. When we had a problem with our DVD player remote control, your staff brought up batteries for it and helped us start the movie. He was very nice.
Review 81:mattress cover on bed clumped up and made sleeping uncomfortable. No through-room ventilation. Really needed better lighting for those of us who want to read books but whose eyesight is 'diminished'.
Review 82:price and relaxed atmosphere
Review 83:The building was outdated
Review 84:Very trendy and clean and uses all natural products making it very earth friendly. I love the ice water/coffee/tea in the lobby and the free bikes to ride around!
Review 85:This property does not have air conditioning.
Review 86:The location and service was outstanding. When I realized there was no air conditioning they made every effort to make me and my family comfortable.
Review 87:Please make bike helmets available when loaning out the bikes. I heard only after my accident that they were available. Why wasn't this mentioned when we checked them out. It would have saved a trip to the ER.
Review 88:I liked all the activities in and so near to the hotel.
Review 89:I would have liked to see Queen size beds (doubles are just to small for hotels). The only other issue we came across was the water running hot and cold during shower time. It took all four us by surprise.
Review 90:Amazing eco-friendly concept, kudos! All of us also loved the bed frames being crafted from cedar. Made the concern for bed bugs a lot less for one of friends.
Review 91:The room was extremely humid. No airflow - even with the window open.
Review 92:It was convenient to town, and just steps from the beach. I liked the fact that dogs were allowed (and if I had one, would bring it).
Review 93:The hotel is old building however it was perfect renovated and very clean.
Review 94:We enjoyed staying at this Hotel. We were on the road and we were surprise with the hotel style. It is a unique hotel in term of interior design. We love it as a family. The restaurant was amazing too.
Review 95:We didn't like that we were put in a dog room without our knowledge. The website is deceiving. Your rooms look new and put together well on the website. No so in person.
Review 96:Room was a little beat down - pillows missing buttons - curtain had bleach stain and the two panels were different lengths - small water closet for toilet and shower smelled awful - no elevator in one of the buildings and no warning that there wasn't one, ended up carrying my 20lb dog up and down two flights of stairs several times during the stay - no normal in room amenities unless you called and asked them to bring them to you (coffee pot, etc) - the shampoo, body lotion, conditioner were in large containers with pumps. I don't like the idea that who knows how many people have you bed or used those prior
Review 97:Pet friendly Free bike rentals Right on the beach Fun, modern decor
Review 98:Restaurant (Pickled Fish) was expensive and mac & cheese with crab was cold when it arrived. Because of the long waits for drinks and food, was afraid to send it back. Band was wonderful!
Review 99:I liked the location and view of the ocean. Also, being so close to the walking path and boardwalk!
Review 100:The decor of the place was abysmal. Bare light bulbs and rough crates for furniture seems more like cutting costs and corners and not something we should have paid premium hotel prices for. The screws in the "hardy backer" floors caught on your socks and were uncomfortable for the feet. The bare light bulbs were glaring and hurt my eyes.
Review 101:The location was great, and the complimentary bicycles to ride along the dunes trail were a plus.
Review 102:I understand it's a small town and hours will fluctuate. However I wasn't a fan of the bar closing at 11pm I think it was.
Review 103:I enjoyed the service, very helpful and accommodating.
Review 104:We did not like that the restaurant only served a late night / limited menu in the evening. We normally don't eat dinner until 8:30-9pm, and we aren't used to restaurants not offering a full menu at that hour.
Review 105:Oceanfront hotel, with a great view! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and very accommodating. The room was so adorable in design, and the bed was super comfortable!!!!!
Review 106:Location was great. Wine and beer available for purchase at a good price. Bikes and games provided. Sitting areas in different parts of the hotel. Pickled Fish a nice place for dinner. Pleasant and comfy room. Without a doubt, would stay here again.
Review 107:I really loved the modern style to the rooms, it was very relaxing. The view from the room was perfect. Although I did not have a chance, the option to rent out a bike was awesome.
Review 108:The building needs some maintenance, wall rot is certain spots in the outside stairs prevents them from putting up r/s hand rails. Breakfast is a tad late @ 9am.
Review 109:Location. Long Beach, WA is a ni:e place.
Review 110:Only complaint is there are no fans or air conditioners in the rooms to keep out the stuffiness - but too misty and cool to open the window.
Review 111:Great view, within walking distance of the beach and boardwalk. [pickled fish] restaurant was amazing. Not your normal restaurant fare - fun and delicious.
Review 112:Disappointed by the food at the restaurant, which wasn't that great and especially for the price.
Review 113:Everyone was very friendly and the proximity to the ocean.
Review 114:Nothing. We are already planning to come back in the near future.
Review 115:We stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it. All organic/natural toiletries and vegan options for dining catered to my liking. Beautiful views of the ocean and they upgraded us to a king size room when we mentioned we were a military couple on our honeymoon. Loved the complimentary bicycles for cruising around town. A stone's throw away from the beach was just peachy.
Review 116:wish there was a better view of the ocean
Review 117:we liked the bed, more comfortable than most hotel beds......we liked all the refurbished stuff and the rustic atmosphere.
Review 118:There isn't a pool or spa.
Review 119:The Pickled Fish restaurant is amazing. The hotel decor is great. Loved the organic coffee in lobby. Also having free access to bicycles made our trip!!!
Review 120:cute room, great view, all natural products, comfy bed, complementary dvd library, local coffee, friendly staff, great food that's only a flight of stairs away. Checked out late due to our bike ride taking longer than we expected. Was not a problem. Love Adrift hotel. Telling everyone I know and definitely returning!
Review 121:Bathroom could have been a little cleaner.
Review 122:Enjoyed the little details of free bikes, organic cocoa and fresh water with lemon or oranges in the lobby. Cute minimalist hotel has everything you need to have a great trip to the beach. Restaurant was amazing! Overall was a great place to stay with our 3 YO son.
Review 123:Restaurant was overpriced and poorly laid out for optimum view for the masses. Staff though was vey friendly and service was very good. Ping pong table needs a lot of tlc!
Review 124:Front desk and housekeeping staff experience was an easy 10!!
Review 125:The bed was a little stiff. The pillows were terrible. Next time I come I would bring my own pillow. My neck hurt so bad when I woke up.
Review 126:Loved the restaurant! It was so yummy. I really loved that they had free bikes to use, free movies and free board games. The staff was super friendly.
Review 127:I have great expectations because of the comments and photos posted. But ended up being very disappointed. At check in the staff was dressed poorly, The room was ok, the bathroom was tiny, and there was very little water pressure. Really glad we stayed on a Sunday and didn't pay the inflated Fri/Sat rate!!
Review 128:Great view
Review 129:Would suggest making reservations for the restaurant, fortunately, the two of us got fast seating at the bar and enjoyed the sunset. Bed was comfortable and slept in late.
Review 130:Ate dinner at the Pickled Fish & got to listen at length to a foul-mouthed younger guy read out the staff for his apparently bad meal. Our food was not all that good either, but we endured it.
Review 131:Available access to the beach.
Review 132:Loved everything
Review 133:Loved the bed, the view, and the access to the beach. We added a fire package to our stay. We had so much fun roasting marshmallows and talking.
Review 134:We ended up in a pet-friendly room. Next time I will request otherwise. There was that faint smell of wet dog in the room and some black dog hairs kinda stuck in the fabric of the comforter and throw pillow. Basically it wouldn't require CSI: Long Beach to tell you that there were plenty of dogs who had rolled through our room. We aren't real squeamish people so we just kinda blew it off. Fridge was pretty stinky too. (Not a huge deal). Bathroom could use a little cosmetic attention. Not really dirty but just tiny signs of neglect.
Review 135:Pretty cool, comfortable Devore. Location is great. Restaurant is awesome. Free bike rentals are a must-do. Nice that they have board games, DVDs, ping pong table, small library of books with some really random selections like "Everything You Need to Know About Getting a Divorce in the State of Texas".
Review 136:My window pane broke... so the view from my room is half fogged up.
Review 137:Location is great, maybe i was lucky, but its not noisy as some people claim. It was a full house also.
Review 138:Just wished some of the amentities were in better shape or working order. Also would have been nice to keep our window in our room open to hear the ocean and not the garbage can areas and/or delivery trucks, etc.
Review 139:Liked that there were many amenities offered on the different floors, bikes we could borrow, ping pong table, shuffle board, etc.
