Reviews for The Breakers Long Beach
Review 1:Wish there were bedside tables. Didn't like putting phone, glasses, etc. on the floor by the bed.
Review 2:Wonderful, quiet location looking across low dunes to the beach and ocean. Great view from almost every room. Big, fully equipped kitchenette.
Review 3:light was out in bedside lamp. freezer needed defrosting- could not be used. Overall I would not give a bad rating because of these minor items.
Review 4:Check in /check out staff very friendly, quick and efficient.
Review 5:Could have been cleaner. Beach could barely be seen and about 500 yards away, but this is true of all rentals in area.
Review 6:Friendly staff, free bicycles, quiet (but was off season) quality about as expected for cost.
Review 7:Very relaxing! Staff was superb gave us ideas of where to eat and flexible with our check out time! Bike riding the Discovery Trail that is easily access from the property was wonderful!
Review 8:Love the bicycles available to ride along the beach trails! Also the outdoor bbq area that is available to all guests. Pool and spa were in great shape and so very nice at the end of a cool and breezy day at the beach. Parking was fabulous! So close and well lit.
Review 9:We requested check in time at 1pm and the room wasn't available until after 4pm. The place was ok, but for the amount I expected a little more..
Review 10:The complimentary bikes were nice, the pool and hot tub were nice too.The fully set up kitchen was a nice feature.
Review 11:wished we could have seen the ocean from the patio. The bed was very comfortable but it made a lot of noise just climbing into it and didn't care that it rolled around. Oh and hearing the neighbors was a bit distracting from the peacefulness of it all.
Review 12:loved the comfort of the room, the patio to listen to the ocean, loved the free wi-fi because we didnt get any cell service for some reason so that came in really handy to connect with our children at home. Loved the atmosphere, very cozy and good location to town and the beach! if looking to re-connect as a couple this is an amazing place to get started!!
Review 13:Microwave didn't work. Could use some upgrades in the kitchen and decor. Pool was very small and not very well maintained.
Review 14:Loved the location, very close to the beach. Liked the layout of the room with the kitchen. Also loved the view from the balcony
Review 15:Room was a bit dated could use modernization. Bed lights were wall mounted one side and table lamp other side..wall mounted light was loose and flopped around.
Review 16:The pool was a bit cold but on a 80 degee day was fine. Hot tube was nice and the after 930 adults only was nice. Grounds are huge and would b a great place for a family reunion complete with a huge covered BBQ area.
Review 17:Being on the 3rd floor; I would have preferred 1st floor with my dog, but was told this was the last available room; the bed and couch were awful. I left a day earlier than planned.
Review 18:The staff was very friendly. The view.
Review 19:The Breakers policy of not allowing pets unattended in the room (regardless of crate) severely limited our ability to fully enjoy the town, pool, and dining out. I came back with a lot of money I expected to spend!
Review 20:Peaceful facility. Great staff. Comfort and layout of room.
Review 21:BBQ area only having 1 BBQ to use and available. Area messy and not completely finished. Not inviting to use, which we were looking forward to use.
Review 22:Our 1 bedroom apartment was spacious and comfortable for 4 adults. Available bikes to use.
Review 23:Very nice room with ocean view deck. Expansive lawn, baba shelter +picnic tables, short walk to beach. Bikes, library, video library. Great place to hole up and relax.
Review 24:I liked that the hotel had free bike rentals, a park, bbq area, and had access to a private beach. The room was pretty clean and the patio was wonderful for early morning coffee.
Review 25:If was foggy and cold on a day when it was close to 100 just a half hour away. ....
Review 26:The unit was a studio with kitchenette, at the end with an amazing view of the dunes and the rolling gray yards.
Review 27:Very tired and badly in need of an update. Cluttered with original furniture, fittings, and ornaments from the 80's. That includes the mattress on the bed and bed linen. Wi-fi poor and intermittent. Far too expensive for its current state. Wouldn't stay there again.
Review 28:Has a reasonably equipped kitchen.
Review 29:Walls are super thin. Kinda like what ud exspect outta motel 6. As soon as I pulled on the hid a bed the below neighbors were calling to say it sounds like jumping. No kid movies in the room
Review 30:I was thankful we were only there one night. I wasn't pleased. Never been so happy to get out
Review 31:When I first checked in, the woman gave me the third degree. It felt like I was getting pulled over by the police(I am strange looking) when my daughter walked in she totally changed her tune.
Review 32:The bathroom was very small, but not a deal breaker.
Review 33:I loved the view to the ocean, and that it was very close to our hotel room. I liked the fact that we were out of town, but that it was a short drive to the center of the town. Our room was nice a comfortable with a small kitchen.
Review 34:I use a walker so getting to the beach was a bit hard, but I made it and it was well worth the extra struggle.
Review 35:The staff was wonderful. The room amazing. The view awesome. Just a short jaunt to the beach.
Review 36:For the price of the room, the facilities were not up to date. The pool was small and the pool room was a bit run down. There were old pool towels in our room tucked in to some folded blankets.
Review 37:The hot tub was very nice.
Review 38:The room was very basic and pretty small. No place to set your suitcase and no chairs to sit on. Blanket had holes in it.
Review 39:The staff was very friendly and we liked the location especially with our pet.
Review 40:We could hear the neighbors above & next door but they weren't the noisy type so that was ok.
Review 41:We liked the location, the staff, the free bicycle usage. The just ride out onto the Discovery Trail was delightful.
Review 42:Queen size bed too small. No view of the ocean from second floor. Upholstered furniture showing age.
Review 43:Rooms were clean. Close access to nearby recreational area.
Review 44:The location of the refrigerator sitting on the carpet made it hard to open and close. Should be set on a platform.
Review 45:Good hotel for price, and good location to beach access.
Review 46:Ice machine was broken. Unruly children in pool without adult supervision. Granddaughter left googles at pool- took us 5 min to retrieve them. 2 kids were tossing them about & broke the lens-no parents around.
Review 47:We loved the room and the pool. The parking was great.
Review 48:Our room was on the 3rd floor even though our reservation said ground floor. We had 2 dogs with us and had to carry one of them up and down the open stairway.
Review 49:Grounds are beautiful. We could see and hear the ocean from our room.
Review 50:The phone and heat did not work. We were there for two days and really did not need the phone, but a little extra heat would have been nice. We just used the extra blanket they had in the closet.
Review 51:The friendliness of the check-in and check-out person. It was more of a hike to the beach than we had at another place we stayed at before, but the grounds were well-kept and the personnel pleasant. We were on the third floor and are 78 and 73 years old, but were able to manage the stairs. Some people may not be able to do that.
Review 52:Our door and our neighbors you had to slam hard for it to shut
Review 53:Loved that it had a kitchen. It was so super clean which is the most importnant thing in my opinion
Review 54:I was under the impression that we were getting a twin and a double bed, not a double with a twin hide-a-bed. It worked, but not what I specifically asked when making my reservations.
Review 55:Great room, incredible location, loved taking the bikes on the trail. Nice little town with enough good food and things to do that weren't too touristy. Great historical paces nearby. Scenery to die for. Incredible weather!
Review 56:Clam tax. We weren't there for clams but still got charged for being there for clam season. Either way, the money was well worth it. Can't put a price on visiting a small slice of heaven.
Review 57:This was an amazing time. I was born and raised in Florida on the beach and this was my first time visiting the Pacific Ocean. Not only did my whole family enjoy the beach but the staff here knew a few inexpensive things to do with the kids. We were treated like locals! Florida beaches tend to suck you of all your money. This place rocked! My kids named the friendly seagull that came up to the patio Dotty. Great time and we will definitely be going again!
Review 58:Nice bed however it did not support weight 220# man along the outside edge...that is it was a bit spongy and if I got to close to the edge it would sag down and I would roll off it was a big bed so not a deal breaker. Still very nice all in all.
Review 59:Clean room neutral smell so no masking bad order...comfort on a budget. Not too far from the beach...nice!
Review 60:No elevator--we should have specified a need for easier access. Toilet paper was out of reach--we joked about needing to pack a lunch to get to it. No instructions for the coffee maker.
Review 61:Kitchen was very nice, convenient. Location was good, ocean was in view although some distance away. We appreciate that they aren't building on the Dunes. Easy access to the beach and trail. Office staff were pleasant and very helpful--recommended a superb restaurant and provided a discount coupon.
Review 62:No view of ocean..not sure if one from upper floors. Needs an elevator at least one facility for those with mobility issues. Room is small and no chair to sit in to watch television. The bed gave me a backache.
Review 63:The large windows on the end unit. The view of the dunes and yard. The hot tub was great. Bikes and access to the beach
Review 64:Room was on third floor no elevator, difficult climb with luggage. 2nd bedroom shouldn't have been a bedroom, maybe an office. Coffee pot and microwave in that room, louvered closet door to enter. Set way too far back from beach.
Review 65:Not much
Review 66:The pool hours could start a little earlier...open from 10:00 am - 11:00pm.
Review 67:The hotel is close to the beach- the rooms are basic but clean. Every room had a balcony which we enjoyed. Dog friendly always a bonus. We loved the pool and hot tub - both very clean. If you want there are bar-b-ques along with bunch of tables outside.
Review 68:The room was cramped, noisy bathroom fan, and walls as thin as paper. Both nights the neighbors conversations and TV were as if they were in our room.
Review 69:Staff and location were great. The outside is well cared for and close to the beach.
Review 70:Nothing. Some people might not like that it is on the edge of long beach but it was exactly what I was looking for and long beach was a short bike ride away.
Review 71:The staff was wonderful. They let us check in early, told us about the discovery trail, were excited to hear about our bicycle adventure on their free bikes. Liked the dvd player in the room. Beach view was beautiful. Hot tub was great under the stars.
Review 72:Just enough away from downtown to be very peaceful. Good access to the beach. Lots of amenities. Very comfy room and good service. Can't say enough good stuff about this place.
Review 73:Bed was made sloppily. Closet door was left off the rail. Our friends in another room didn't even get their bed made one of the days.
Review 74:Close to beach.
Review 75:Asked for first floor wife uses a walker in order to get around. Ended up on 3rd. floor with 30 steps to walk-up. Very small condo extra bed was in a small closet with a twin bed. these are private owned condo's rented out to anyone when the owners are not there. And as such do not need to be handicapped acessible. price very steep for the off season we were there.
Review 76:Nice location, private walk-way to beach
Review 77:That we didn't get to stay an extra day.
Review 78:We loved the large full kitchen and sitting on the balcony watching the ocean. The bikes were a great family activity time riding on the pathway.
Review 79:toilet bowl not clean my wife sanitizes every toilet bowl at every hotel that we have been to,so if she said it's dirty then it is .
Review 80:the bed very cozy
Review 81:Make sure you call first if you have a pet.
Review 82:Beautiful location. Absolutely peaceful. We went mid week so it was not really busy. Very pet friendly. Lovely ocean view. Condo was cute and spacious. We only wish we had more time. We are already planning out return trip!
Review 83:asked for queen bed, received king. wrongly assumed it would be in a bedroom not take up the entire sitting area. would appreciated hearing from staff there was a festival in town.
Review 84:visits prior to this, were much more comfortable
Review 85:The bed was big enough but shook every time you moved. Pillows were lumpy
Review 86:Price Location Very clean for it's age Everything worked We felt this was a good value and were abled to book on short notice.
Review 87:VERY outdated. Dusty rose carpets and blinds from the 70's. Carpets were stained and dirty. Screens on windows couldn't be locked open. Our room was not cleaned -- bed not made, garbage not emptied for our second night. Housekeeping staff looked sketchy. Not near the ocean.
Review 88:Good sized room with comfortable bed. Lots of storage if you were staying for a while. Front office staff was pleasant.
Review 89:I didn't like that there were only two pillows in our luxury condo suite, which is two fewer than we typically use. However, this is partially our fault because I'm sure if I had called the front desk, we could've easily gotten more, which I would've done if it weren't so late when I decided to go to sleep.
Review 90:I like that although it was about a 5 to 8 minute walk along a trail to the water, you can see the water almost the whole way there and the beautiful yard on the property is home to many deer and birds. I also loved having a condo with a fireplace (which is not standard, by the way), which is perfect on cool nights (most nights).
Review 91:Although we were warned, carrying a big heavy suitcase to the third floor was tough. Could not have done it if my husband had not been there.
Review 92:Beautiful location with a lovely walk to the beach. Breath taking views of the ocean and an impressive sunset.
Review 93:Wasn't to happy about not being able to see beach and was a bit long to walk path.
Review 94:We had a pleasant stay very helpful staff and courtesy. Place was clean and kitchen had more stuff then my kitchen.
Review 95:maid didn't clean our room, maybe because our bedroom & bathroom doors were closed? she left new towels in the living room & took the tip.
Review 96:overall cleanness of the place. playground for kids is great as well as indoor pool.
Review 97:Cribbage game was missing the cards and pegs. Lid to the coffee pot was broken and fell off during pouring. The coffee was hot and hit my hand. Could use a hand bar in the shower to help with balance.
Review 98:Having coffee and a kitchen. Being close to the beach. Enjoyed the balcony. Clean, comfortable and relaxing facility.
Review 99:Uncomfortable bed Bed linens where of poorer quality and didn't stay on the bed. We where told Queen, but the bed was just a full size. No comfortable chairs in room.
Review 100:Access to beach Kitchenette View of the Ocean
Review 101:For older people, not very convenient to the ocean. Quite a walk, which I enjoyed, but my older companion wasn't able to go that far.
Review 102:It was extraordinarily clean, we loved that.
Review 103:Long walk to beach.
Review 104:We were traveling with our grandson and were pleased that he had his own room which he loved. The bed was very comfortable, nice little patio, and a great price.
Review 105:You have to ask for an upgrade for room with fireplace and you get what you pay for. It was a room to sleep in and barely a view of the ocean since it was 2nd floor.
Review 106:Staff was friendly. room with queen bed with kitchenette was good size.
Review 107:Advertising The Breakers as having an 'Ocean View' is a bit of a stretch. With the large sand dune between our second floor room and the ocean, we really had to use our imaginations to 'see' the ocean.
Review 108:The free use of bicycles to take in the Discovery Trail was very nice. One and one-half hours was barely long enough though. It would have been nice to arrange for longer use.
Review 109:Our room was quite outdated. Nothing comfortable to sit on except the bed. Very noisy floors above our room.
Review 110:The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Fun things for kids to do with the playground, swimming pool and bicycles. Nice balcony for relaxing. Great location to the beach and wonderful paved trail through the sand dunes for walking, jogging and bicycle riding. Very pet friendly.
Review 111:Its not center from the town. But thats ok. Because they let you used bicycle to go to the trail and downtown. Few minutes from the beach. We had a great stay.
Review 112:Location,cleanliness of the room.our room is fully furnished.
Review 113:Not given fireplace unit as advertised Noisy cleaners next door before 10am when unit was already clean Noisy riding lawn mower for 2 hours when mowing not needed Really paper thin walls
Review 114:Very clean Probably one of cheapest places to stay, but wouldn't recommend more than 1 nite or 2 Not real close to town or grocery store
Review 115:The front desk staff was not all that friendly and inviting. The man checking us in didn't welcome us and seemed like he just wanted to get through the check in process with as little words as possible.
Review 116:Enjoyed the proximity to the beach and that you could check out bikes to ride along the trails. Enjoyed the heated indoor pool and the hot tub was excellent. The jets were strong and the water was actually hot. We had a great view from the room and it was very clean and comfortable.
Review 117:Just that I couldn't stay longer.
Review 118:The location is perfect if you like open spaces and only to hear the roar of the ocean. They offer free bikes, the path is very nice. Pool was perfect temp and so was the hot tub. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and what a great view!
Review 119:Our grandchildren are two and five. We were able to keep them occupied and excited for three days. They loved the pool. They loved the playground although I didn't think it was all that great. I think it was the deep sand. They loved the beach. I want to take them back next year.
Review 120:none. other than pool was not enticing
Review 121:walks
Review 122:Cable not working
Review 123:I liked the Complimentary bikes as the property is set off ocean a bit.
Review 124:nothing
Review 125:The room was adorable. very quiet
Review 126:You guys should put curtains on the patio doors so people can't see in.
Review 127:Charming room and helpful staff
Review 128:There was a great deal of dog 'waste' around the buildings and on the path to the beach.
Review 129:No kids bikes. So we couldn't go on bike ride. Bummer.
Review 130:It was a great place. So big and so much to do. My son lived the playground and pool.
Review 131:No utensils, plates, glasses or napkins. Had to go to store to purchase these items to use the microwave oven.
Review 132:A nice time. Great weather. Quiet
Review 133:Coffee pot was broken and room s little outdated but still comfortable.
Review 134:Great view plenty of room and affordable.
Review 135:it was all good just a suggestion a outdoor firepit.
Review 136:location,room size, kitchen it was all good.
