Reviews for Atrium Bed and Breakfast

Review 1:We liked the room and facilities, it was very clean and the owner looked after us very well. Don't let first impressions put you off. A very pleasant stay.

Review 2:This place is a little gem right in downtown Fort Bragg. We can't wait to go back again. Our host, Mary, was wonderful, giving us personal recommendations and directing us to locations to have a wonderful evening.

Review 3:I love the room called "the nest"! It was bright, cheerful and comfortable! The breakfasts are super delicious and the staff very attentive. I would definitely recommend the Atrium to my friends.

Review 4:Towels in bathroom appeared stained, bathroom door difficult to close and open, due to windy weather the single-pane window in the bath was rattling

Review 5:Nice staff, good breakfast, cute room and ambiance, lovely atrium with plants and flowers, pretty fall decorations everywhere. The value for the money is only good when compared to other establishments in Ft. Bragg, California

Review 6:The narrow and steep stairs gave me some trouble but it's a lovely old victorian, couldn't be helped!

Review 7:Charming and the breakfast was delicious!

Review 8:WE HAD A GOOD TIME, WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY. NOTHING BAD TO SAY, OH, OTHER THEN WE DIDNT WIN THE LOTTERY AND FIND GOLD. BUT THATS OK!

Review 9:GOOD PLACE TO ENJOY LIFE AND SLOW DOWN. WE HAD A WONDER WEEKEND THERE, VERY FRIENDLY HOSPITALITY. COMFORTABLE AND RELAXING. STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL TO ANYTHING WE NEEDED. ROOM WAS NICE, HOME COOKING WAS EXCELLENT. THEY OFFERED US BIKECYCLES TO RIDE ON THE BIKE PATH. SO WE DID, HAD A VERY GOOD TIME. ENJOY THE VIEW AND FRESH AIR FROM THE COAST LINE.

Review 10:While the bed was extremely comfortable, the box spring was one of the cheaper versions with the cardboard covering which made simple movements like getting in the bed rather noisy and unpleasant.

Review 11:Loved the decor of the common areas, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The Rendezvous Room which we stayed in was quaint, comfortable and perfectly decorated. Loved how knowledgable, accommodating, and friendly Mary and her staff were.

Review 12:Assigned a front street facing room. Had to have the window open due to the heat. Street noise distracts from the ambiance.

Review 13:Mary and her staff are extremely knowledgable. They go over and beyond to make one's stay enjoyable.

Review 14:Breakfast food was fair. Fruit was a mish mosh of things thrown together. Not appetizing. As a solo traveler I was hoping for a sense of community or chatting with others guests. Hosts seemed efficient but not engaging. I was disappointed.

Review 15:Beautiful atrium outdoors

Review 16:Perfect location, fantastic staff, and an awesome room. We really enjoyed the personal service and chatting with the other guests, as well. The Atrium is very beautiful and relaxing. Bonus: they let you borrow their bikes vs. having to rent around town. We will definitely stay here again!

Review 17:Atrium is close to all the sights in Ft. Bragg and surroundings. Our room was at the back and we did not hear sounds from the street. Parking plentiful and easily accessed.

Review 18:We did have the room facing the Main Street so it was a bit noisy, I like to sleep with a window open, but did not diminish the experience for me.

Review 19:Our first time at a bed and breakfast. Loved the house decorated super cute. The breakfast was great, very filling and the staff were so nice.

Review 20:The only thing that prevents me from giving the Atrium a perfect score is that we had the front room, facing the Main Street through town. It was very noisy and prevented a good nights sleep. Next time I will ask for a room at the back of the house.

Review 21:This little old and charming house was a real pleasant surprise to find. The rooms, including the public rooms, are comfortable and the hostess is very friendly and most helpful. Breakfast was delicious server in the cosy dining room.

Review 22:This hotel stays on the Main street - essentially whole local traffic is going under your window so noise is significant. This is unnoticeable during day and evening but at night this does not let you sleep. Call hotel and verify room location - the quality of regular and upscale room are the same but, in our case case, regular rooms were much quieter than upscale ones.

Review 23:Hotel cleanliness, very friendly owner, excellent breakfast, central location, comfortable bed.

Review 24:The breakfasts were delicious, absolutely LOVED Mary, the room was perfect, The bed was so comfortable! I would re-book in an instant, if I could find the time to escape again.

Review 25:Loved staying in The Quilt Room. Decor was just my taste! Also loved how close it was to the beach, shopping and local attractions. Breakfast was fabulous - both days. This was a perfect 2 day mini vacation!!!

Review 26:We had comfortable beds in a room with a fireplace. There are two Victorians with a covered atrium at this property. We walked the couple blocks into the main shopping area and to the new walking path that boarders glass beach and the ocean on the old lumber mill property that has been closed to the public for over a 100 years. We had a lovely stay at the Atrium.

Review 27:Going up narrow stairs to bedroom was tricky but there were handrails and they helped us with bags it's part of what can be expected in an old house and actually added to the charm

Review 28:We were so pleased with everything--very friendly and helpful staff, fabulous breakfast, delightful attention to detail in decor, very comfortable bed, quiet (which was a pleasant surprise for an old house), and lovely outdoors. Lots of parking too and within walking distance of great old town shops and restaurants. We felt right at home and loved our stay.

Review 29:Wish the mattress was more firm, but some might prefer the softness.

Review 30:Very lovely staff, charming old Victorian home, delicious breakfast, and convenient to visit Mendocino and environs.

Review 31:Wanted a quiet get-away for New Year's Eve. This fit the bill perfectly. Centrally located on the main street. Quaint garden area (atrium) with seating areas. Nice room (Interlude) with a gas fireplace and comfortable bed. Great breakfast on New Year's Day - didn't have to go looking for a restaurant.

Review 32:There was no restaurant/diner that's really closeby from the BnB i.e. like within the block. Since the sidestreets are also not well lit at night, we opted to still use the car to go to restaurants two blocks away. The wifi in our room is also not very strong, and gets cut off if on a different part of the room.

Review 33:Breakfast was great, very homemade. Staff are very accommodating. Adequate parking space also, though it would be good to have a sign that directs us where to park. We were told that we parked on the 'wrong' side of the parking lot because that side was supposedly for the other BnB.

Review 34:I had requested(while making my reservation)a list of events going on for that weekend but never received it. Great trip anyway.

Review 35:The staff were friendly, room nice, clean, hot breakfast. Overall nice place

Review 36:Nothing!!!

Review 37:The room was delightful --- the staff terrific --- breakfast was wonderful ---catered to our quirky nutritional needs ---it was just an all around great find!

Review 38:Room was small. TV was incredibly small and the wardrobe unit it was in would not stay open. We stuck a belt in it to shim it open. No A/C and no fan in the room. We went in October but to me it was way warm. Fronted on Highway 1 so we got street noise because we had to keep the window open. Had the choice of a really small room with a bathroom in it or a bigger room with a bathroom across the hall. Though it was considered "private" it was across the hall. Seriously? Like I want to get dressed in the middle of the night to go to the head? The part of town it was in was a little tired. Not awful, but not our cup of tea. Hotels for me.

Review 39:Mary was very nice. The breakfast was good. The room was cute and the bathroom was newer and clean.

Review 40:Nothing.

Review 41:Charming and quaint old house, very comfortable bed, the owner was nice, helpful, and accommodating. This made for a relaxing and romantic overnight trip for my friend and I.

Review 42:My husband and I were VERY happy with the ambiance and beauty of this delightful B & B. All our needs were met at every turn, with smiling faces and cheerful responses. We highly recommend the Atrium to others.

Review 43:Traffic was loud starting every morning about 5:30 am. We were there on weekdays so that could be playing a part. Shower was small. Fireplace in room didn't work.

Review 44:Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were decorated nicely. Reasonably priced for the area. Nice courtyard.

Review 45:Off street parking Landscaped cover patio, great for tea or reading, etc. Local menus in living room Breakfast was super Rooms very old but well appointed. Home made treats in late afternoon Staff was just great

Review 46:Bed was a little lumpy. But we were very tired and slept ok.

Review 47:Mary and staff made up for the usual expectations of a motel type setting. Better than expected and a plus with their charm and pleasant nature to help and give advise. Staff made coffee for us after a long ride there from BenBow Ca. and some cookies. We all had the house to ourselves which made it a very good experience to share together. Breakfast was better than expected.

Review 48:Coffee Next to busy street - a little noisy

Review 49:Lodge room - lovely fireplace Covered Atrium Breakfast was excellent Decor was charming Antiques galore Friendly staff Very relaxed atmosphere!

Review 50:Wifi in main aeria only, older TV

Review 51:Quaint historic, comfortable and quiet room. Excellent home made breakfast, ample choice of DVD's,very nice and helpful owner. Walking distance to restaurants.

Review 52:We were warmly welcomed with a cup of tea and home baking. The room was simple but delightfully decorated. Every detail was thought of. Breakfast was delicious. Our hostess was very kind and helpful. A very enjoyable stay.

Review 53:Whole building was run down and in need of renovation, our "private bathroom" was not ensuite but across the public hall and needed key to open it. Reception only 3-6pm so at 6.30 pm we saw "night manager" who didn't know what room we were in. Very narrow and steep stairs to bedrooms - difficult to negotiate with suitcases. No coffee making facilities in the room. Overpriced for what we got - we could have stayed that night in the Holiday Inn for another 25 dollars!

Review 54:The room was clean and their was private parking behind the house

Review 55:Mary was so warm and welcoming, telling us all about the neighborhood and what to do in Fort Bragg. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the beautiful dining room, looking out on the garden. The atrium, itself, was full of plants and reading out there felt like being in a Victorian solarium. We'd enjoy a return trip!

Review 56:The atmosphere of Atrium. The rooms were individually designed and very pleasant. The staff was amazing and service exceptional. Great breakfast. Would definitely go back!

Review 57:The room was clean and beautiful, the location was amazing, and the staff was so helpful we couldn't help but have a great time. We will definitely go back over and over!

Review 58:Stay for two nights in The Interlude and had absolutely wonderful time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room clean with comfortable bed. Breakfast was oh so good. They have little garden which is charming and you can relax there with ice tea and cookies anytime you want. Glass beach is just down the street. We will stay again.

Review 59:The Atrium was such a comfortable place to stay. The couple who runs it was so kind and thoughtful. The room was clean and cozy and the food at breakfast was delicious. Excellent coffee!! We look forward to staying there in the future.

Review 60:No AC. To be fair we had the two only warm days out of the year.

Review 61:Good balance of location. Close to glass beach and downtown fort bragg. Mary was very attentive

Review 62:The room we were in ( quilt) got evening sun. The night started off a little too warm to go to sleep. Got better as the night went on.

Review 63:Very friendly and helpful

Review 64:Stairs to get to room were very tight and rather dangerous to navigate. If your shoe size was a 5 it might not be an issue, mine are size 12....I slipped a couple of times and caught myself. We were on the second floor of the main building. Not a great romantic place as I had hoped. Room was small, 13 inch tv, 1 chair. I really wanted to like it more, but was just so so. I am not sure if we had the BAD room as another couple we talked with said it was great??????

Review 65:Breakfast was great. Mary is so very nice. The atrium area is GOOD, not great. Room was clean

Review 66:On a busy street that was noisy Slow WiFi Very soft bed Small bathroom

Review 67:Excellent breakfast Convenient location Very nice staff Clean Comfortable Reasonable price

Review 68:It is right on a main road, so it could be loud during the day. But it was always quiet at night.

Review 69:Mary made the best breakfast! It was delicious and filling, perfect for the cool morning weather. She was also extremely welcoming and remembered details from your trip to ask about.

Review 70:friendliness of staff, cozy and comfortable room, great breakfast!

Review 71:good choice! really comfortbale bed and pillows and quilt! lovely and clean.

Review 72:Tub was a little difficult to get into. Could be a problem for older people

Review 73:Breakfast,central located

Review 74:Off street parking. Beautifully decorated room. Friendly staff. Filling breakfast.

Review 75:The gas heater needed fixing but the staff was so quick to respond.

Review 76:It was far from the highway and very quiet.

Review 77:The owners were VERY kind and went above and beyond to make sure my wife had food to eat for breakfast because of her strict dietary needs.

Review 78:None

Review 87:We had a very nice stay at Atrium. We were only there for one night, but greatly enjoyed it. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 88:No negatives if you don't count early morning beeping from nearby trucks on weekdays.
