Reviews for North Cliff Hotel
Review 1:being hit with all the dog rules...or else but i get it a neighbors girls kept taunting their dog into whining for about an hour breakfast though included was very lunch room...all constipating carbs and sugar
Review 2:towel and sheet for dogs bed gift art shop paper sf chronicle centrally located to sites
Review 3:Wonderfully close to ocean. We kept the balcony door open the entire time we were there to hear the ocean. It was so relaxing. Didn't want to leave.
Review 4:We were on the bottom floor. It is an old building and with any old, thin floored and walled building, you can hear everything. Other than that, it was nice.
Review 5:The view was beautiful. The couch and the fireplace added to the cozy feeling we had. We would stay again but only on the top floor.
Review 6:The views were amazing and the service was awesome. The front desk went out of their way to make sure everything was set up and ready for us and were extremely nice!
Review 7:We did not have a bad experience, but we would suggest the following additional items be added in the room to make it an even better experience: bubble bath for jacuzzi, magnifying mirror for makeup, plastic knives and forks in microwave area.
Review 8:We love the North Cliff Hotel because we are totally relaxed when we are there. The jacuzzi in our room and the beautiful view and fireplace are wonderful! The bed is comfy and the extra touches like leaving us a bottle of bubbly wine is great! Breakfast is also delicious!
Review 9:Parking was a problem, had to park to far from the room. Bed was too high. bedspread was dusty. Lounge chair was useless. Couch was uncomfortable for two people. Price of the room was way out of line.
Review 10:The shower was wonderful.
Review 11:The bed was very comfortable. The view from the jetted tub is beautiful. Having a private balcony makes it possible to leave the sliding door open a crack so you can go to sleep with the sound of the surf.
Review 12:They need to get some nice pillow top mattresses for the rooms. Our bed was an old spring type and not very comfortable!
Review 13:Pretty much everything. Nice place, friendly helpful staff great views of the Noyo River inlet and Pacific Ocean.
Review 14:The wireless server was down a couple of times, limiting device use. I recommend an upgraded hardware purchase.
Review 15:The views were spectacular. The accommodations were clean, well appointed, well furnished, and CLEAN! Staff were helpful, friendly, and always available. This was a great stay.
Review 16:The bed was not comfortable at all and it squeaked every time you moved. We got hot and we had to open the sliding door but started storming and rain was coming in so we had to close the door .
Review 17:It would be nice if the rooms had a wet bar area. Also no elevator. Lots of stairs.
Review 18:Wonderful comfort and beautiful location. Very clean and well maintained.
Review 19:We were excited for an ocean view off our patio. We were not excited to find out that our neighbors were so close that we could hear every word clearly as well as an additional, not so nice smelling swamp type pond was also a part of our ocean view.
Review 20:The room was very nice and comfortable. We told them it was our anniversary and there was a card and small bottle of wine waiting for us.
Review 21:The only thing about this stay that worried me was when using the bathtub after turning on the jets the suds were black.
Review 22:The view from the room was very nice. Grounds were kept nice and staff was all friendly. I would stay here again.
Review 23:Price was a bit high and the bed was very hard, but comparable for much more expensive places overall.
Review 24:Excellent sunset view and great spa bath with a fireplace. Friendly staff and pet friendly as well.
Review 25:The room was overlooking an open man made pond with construction evident. Pond pipes were spewing black water that smelled bad. Balcony is very small.
Review 26:Hotel staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast was nice. Bed and room were very comfortable and clean.
Review 27:The only negative was the fog horn but that is out of their control!
Review 28:The furniture in the hotel were beautiful and I loved that the spa tub had a window that overlooked the coast. Also they served breakfast until 10:30 and had a great selection of items. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and smelled nice.
Review 29:None
Review 30:The view from our room was simply stunning. The room itself was spacious and attractively furnished and the bed was massive and extremely comfortable. Good choice of both hot and cold food at breakfast. We thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.
Review 31:No dislikes . Parking was also excellent
Review 32:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and provided all my needs as a traveler. Views were spectacular and it was easy to walk to restaurants and strolling around Ft Bragg.
Review 33:No elevator means that bags have to be taken up or down stairs to pretty much every room. No aircon, but we were there in September and room was comfortably cool. As others have said, earplugs are helpful to counter the (distant) noise of the fog horn and the morning traffic on Highway 1.
Review 34:View over the Noyo estuary - brilliant sunset! Very helpful staff (one of our group needed help to the third floor with her very heavy bag). Very large room, comfortable bed, everything spotlessly clean. Pleasant, good value restaurant a walkable distance just the other side of the Noyo bridge. Wished we could have stayed a second night.
Review 35:Unfortunately construction work going on near hotel so view of ocean spoiled by large pipe spewing blackish liquid into a pit. Not pleasant if wanting to use balcony.
Review 36:Very large comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.
Review 37:I reserved a room with a spa bath and was not given it. Too late Cuz all other rooms taken. Quite disappointed!!!
Review 38:Room and view of ocean was nice. The bed was very comfortable.
Review 39:The wifi was very slow. I was unable to make a purchase online because it connect kept timing out.
Review 40:The view was wonderful and appeared to be the best view for a comparable hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Review 41:Nothing I can think of.
Review 42:Coming off of a cruise to Alaska it was a great place to stay and still have beautiful surroundings. Very clean and very attentive staff.
Review 43:The only thing that is difficult is the limited space for check in parking. We missed the one non-handicapped spot on the way in - but since there were two of us, my friend just stayed in the car while I ran in to check in. No problem as we were a little early and no one else was trying to come in, but there is no room to pass on the driveway down to the rooms amd parking lot. A little noisy from the folks upstairs in our room. Guess they book all the elephants on the upper floors. :)
Review 44:Wow! A great place to stay - they accomodated my friend's concert harp so that we could wheel it right in to the room and there was plenty of space to store it - a minor miracle as it is a large instrument! Room was very clean and staff was super duper! Included breakfast was a welcome bonus that we took advantage of both days. All in all an excellent place to stay at a rate that was reasonable as well. PS - great views, too!
Review 45:I have had a Jacuzzi tub the last two stays and I wasn't aware that all the rooms did not have tubs.
Review 46:I love the view from the balcony...it is breathtaking! This is our third time here.
Review 47:The bed was way too soft for my liking but my girlfriend loved it.
Review 48:The view from the top, 3rd, floor superior suite was amazing. The tub worked great once we figured it out and the room was well maintained.
Review 49:No elevator. So if you're older don't book an upgraded room or be prepared to lug luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Also they advertise flat screen tv it was...but yhe cable was mono and analog with grainy picture
Review 50:View..spa tub..location
Review 51:Very pricy, but worth the money.
Review 52:Everything was amazing. Beautiful view, comfy, large bed,a Jacuzzi tub with ocean view and a fireplace. Hot breakfast every morning. Great experience!
Review 53:Fog horn every 30 seconds, 24 hours; close to highway; misleading picture of tub spa is not in every room only very expensive rooms
Review 54:beautiful view, close to harbor, very clean spacious room
Review 55:Entering the busy Highway 1 can be difficult. Entrance isn't marked very well. It is difficult to see the entrance from Hwy1 at night. We couldn't get the jacuzzi to operate. Faucet at hand-wash are was loose. Was afraid it would just fall off and fill the room with water! The room only had Lipton tea bags (ough!) Little more attention to detail will justify the high cost of the room.
Review 56:View is stunning! Can simply sit on the balcony all day. Thank you for the delicous bottle of wine for my wife's birthday.
Review 57:Would be nice to receive rewards of some kind for returnee's.
Review 58:Was happy with everything.. Have stayed here 3 times & been very satisfied. Complimentary wine in room for anniversary.
Review 59:No elevator. Had to carry large bags down a small flight of stairs and up a large flight of stairs. No amenities close by.
Review 60:The location was great as was the view. Room was very nice and large.
Review 61:They don't have air conditioning, but do provide a box fan. We roasted inside the room. Since it is hard to sleep when it is so hot inside (cool outside); I wouldn't stay there again.
Review 62:View excellent, Bed was very comfortable
Review 63:Outstanding! Wonderful view of the harbor and ocean from every room. Nice size room, too. Walking distance to an excellent restaurant. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 64:Can't think of any thing. except maybe a little mini store to buy snacks too.
Review 65:The room Mom and I had Was nice, it was level with the parking, we were able to park close to our room. We overlooked the waterway where the fishing boats come in and out. Was a nice breakfast. and they do sell loco wine in the front office also will be selling beer.
Review 66:Nothing
Review 67:The room on the 3rd floor had vaulted ceilings a lovely view of the ocean and a fireplace. The room was spacious and had wonderful cotton bedding. Also appreciated the love seat and coffee table by the fire. The large refrigerator and microwave were a plus.
Review 68:A little pricey but had great features. Expected private balcony, but all were shared with next door. Only a piece of plywood to separate you.
Review 69:Location is good. Across from town but felt more private. Enjoyed the tub by the window and fireplace very much. Bed was really comfortable.
Review 70:Decor was dated and drab. Location was ok, not easy to walk anywhere nearby. Required a drive into town for an evening meal.
Review 71:Room was clean and very spacious, huge in fact. Well located for grocery stores and gas stations.
Review 72:We did not like the fog horn- it is hard to sleep- wore our earbuds. Parking was full. Breakfast could be a little nicer for the overall price of stay.
Review 73:The view was nice! The staff was so kind to leave us wine in our room for our 25th Anniversary! Also, rooms are large & spacious.
Review 74:Area behind hotel seemed to be under construction, view was marred by orange bar construction netting and a big dirt pit instead of a beautiful cliff view. Railings for balcony made of pvc piping. Did not get a tub in 2nd floor room as we assumed we would by the description. Was able to hear everything outside of room from people walking to closing doors to talking next door, walls seem very thin.
Review 75:Clean, comfortable, staff was polite.
Review 76:No tub, motel 6 shower, bed moved when neighboring rooms walked around. Pills were left on the floor at checkin time.
Review 77:We love this hotel. This is our 3rd time back. Unfortunately the room we were given this time were well below our expectations. No in room jacuzzi tub, motel 6 standard bathroom, someone left pills on the floor throughout & when another room walked around, our bed moved as well. (Must of shared a beam underneath the flooring). You can not beat the view, and the customer service. Just triple check you receive a room with a tub.
Review 78:noise at night & day from other rooms Jacuzzi, from anyone walking heavily. the building had very thin walls & separations like in a motel, so definitely not sound proof at all if you add noise and vibration from jacuzzi, well, it's no longer a nice quiet room. staff at the reception was extremely cold. on our last day, they phoned me exactly at 11am for check out which i found rude.
Review 79:bed quality, view on the ocean (even despite the empty reservoir in front of us), size of the room and equipments.
Review 80:The private beach was quite a ways away, and it was a gravel beach not sand, on the plus side to drive was like 5 minutes to ten mile beach which was lovley
Review 81:I loved everything about it! A wonderful place to stay, recharge batterys, romance, whatever you need. AWESOME accomedations!!
Review 82:Having no A/C was definitely not good since it was too warm in the afternoon/late evenings. Fan didn't help much. Although view was great, didn't like seeing the orange construction zone-looking barrier or the RV park across the harbor.
Review 83:The room & view was gorgeous!
Review 84:The bed was appaling, and was keeping us awake because it squeaked so much. at 4AM we put the mattress on the floor to get some sleep. I realised in the morning that the bed lattice was broken in 3 different places! I asked to be reimbursed, they gave me a 25% discount... I didn't know sleep was that undervalued in a hotel...
Review 85:The view from the room, and leaving in the morning
Review 86:Everything! From the very helpful friendly staff to the suite itself, and the delicious breakfast. We were given suggestions for local dining and as we had to detour because of wildfires, were given excellent driving directions, Nothing was a trouble for this staff. Well done.
Review 87:One of the doors to the bathroom didn't lock very well and you can really hear your neighbors.
Review 88:We loved our view, how clean the place was, the movie option and pullout TV. Overall it was a great place to stay.
Review 89:The cont. breakfast was great. The lobby and breakfast room were very nice. Our room was very nice. The view was great if you didn't look straight down! The price was decent too.
Review 90:We loved the room and the view was so wonderful walking out on the balcony watching the boats come in and out. hearing the fog horn. The only problem we had the people above us has kids and they ran and jump till almost midnight. Just who don't respect others. Not hotels fault. But would love to stay again.
Review 91:No elevator. Carrying heavy luggage up a flight of stairs was a bit of a task.
Review 92:Easy assess from the main street through town. Harbor/ocean view. Unfortunately the fog horn went off every 15 seconds around the clock. Use the box fan provided by the hotel to dampen the noise of the fog horn for sleeping purposes. Unexpected continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise.
Review 93:It was great, unfortunately my wife was able to attend but me & my daughter really enjoyed your hotel. I am planning on returning with my wife so see can enjoy your hotel.
Review 94:For Ft. Bragg area it was a good choice but there is an inlet below the rooms that was a little ugly and campers and old trailer on land next to hotel that distracted from the ocen view
Review 95:The view was very good. There is a fog horn so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
Review 96:The view from the room was wonderful, able to watch the boats come and go. Very quite, did not hear anyone next to us. Great breakfast is the morning. Would return for a special event like the one we celebrated out anniversary.
Review 97:The bed was super creaky and would wake me every time my husband or I moved. First night the constant fog horn took some getting used to.
Review 98:The view, staff and furnishing were very nice.
Review 99:No air conditioning and it wasn't listed on the website. Also, thebed was very uncomfortable. It has been 2 days and my 23 year old backand neck are still incredibly sore.
Review 100:The FOG horn. Every 30 sec. Did not get much sleep.
Review 101:The view, cleanliness, the style of the furniture, the impeccably clean water/wine classes, the fireplace, the balcony
Review 102:My "Superior Suite" was located approx 45-feet from the HIGHWAY. Couldn't enjoy patio or sleep without ear plugs. Photos are a little misleading.
Review 103:Sparkling wine waiting in fridge on arrival. Nice view. Comfy bed.
Review 104:The only thing I can say is the in room coffee pot had coffee leftovers and the old coffee and liner was still in the pot.
Review 105:The view was absolutely beautiful. The hot tub was small but ample room for the two of us. We weren't able to use the fireplace since it was water weather but the ambiance was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great
Review 106:If u have triple A they do accept it.. But not on weekend! , example Fri and Sat. The room was very clean. The staff when checking in was pleasant, when checking out the gentalman was very short... Extra, like.. Please come again.. Or how was ur stay.. Not personable. Like I said room was very clean... WiFi is horrible! We stayed in a spa suite from fri-sunday we paid 530$.. Not worth it. Paint job was tacky... New flat screen, but channels r kinda not clear. I liked it.. Spa tub was nice.. And so if fire place. Don't expect the balcony to be private.. There is just a sectional thing between rooms. View is nice . but construction makes it look ugly.
Review 107:It's on a busy road and access to restaurants is difficult on foot. Beware of the steep path at the back of the property which leads to the wharf - whilst it provides access to the wharf and restaurants I had a nasty fall
Review 108:Amazing views from the large bedroom. Just wonderful sitting on the balcony watching the sun set - we felt like we were sitting on a cruise ship! Excellent facilities in the room
Review 109:This hotel was absolutely amazing!! The views were just unbelievable, the beds were amazing, spa was well enjoyable, and the breakfast was very good! We will definitely be coming back :)
Review 110:Fog horn at ocean a little loud. But that is part of bring at the ocean and to be expected....
Review 111:Very clean and well decorated. Parking is a little tight but there is a non paved lot for larger vehicles . complimentary breakfast very good. Will return. Beautiful views from rooms. Housekeeping very nice.
Review 112:No elevators...had a lot of luggage to pack up & down to 3rd floor room. That's a had workout for an older lady! Also, there was not enough parking for cars. Had to park in adjacent dirt field. Coffee in room was horrible!
Review 113:Breakfast was good!
Review 114:The staff was friendly. There was a flow problem with the toilet and the maintenances man Eddie fixed it immediately. Wifi was spotty based on the location. Everything else was excellent
Review 115:WIFI was very weak. Bed was uncomfortable. Breakfest was awful and parking was bad. Some of the desk staff were not friendly or helpful.
Review 116:The view was spectacular, the room was spacious. The balcony was nice but could have more privacy from adjacent room.
Review 117:Having to walk in the driveway from the front office to the room.
Review 118:The beautiful view of the ocean. The restaurants within walking distance were excellent. Would stay there again and look forward to doing so!
Review 119:Booking.com friends, what were you thinking rating this Wonderful???!!!!It is 2 feet away from a major highway and the noise is constant! Plusthere's a foghorn going off every 20 seconds all the time, sun orfog!!! The worst is that we share a balcony with another room with aflimsy partition dividing it and we could see each other. Awful!! Wewere so disappointed. And on the left there is a huge rv parking lot.
Review 120:Room size, bed.
Review 121:We loved the view of Noyo Harbor. It was endlessly entertaining to watch the boats come in and out with their catches. Also, watching the tourists w/ dogs catching sticks was enjoyable. If you want to be lazy.....this is the place.
Review 122:Everything! Such an amazing place. I especially loved the bottle of sparkling wine already chilling in the fridge. And the view was just amazing, even from the tub.
Review 123:Some person riding up and down on their motorcycle for hours in the night. Made it hard to enjoy the sounds of the ocean waves while we slept, but this wasn't anything the hotel could have fixed.
Review 124:The front desk staff are top notch. Me and my partner received 4 Diamond Service. Our view was spectacular! We loved the complimentary champagne and wine!
Review 125:No internet to speak of and uncomfortable bed were the biggest complaints we had.
Review 126:Loved the view and the staff! They were very friendly and helpful. Wifi was slow or unavailable! Breakfast was not appealing and bed was hard. Parking was difficult and exiting the property was as well. We would stay again just better now that we know what to expect'
Review 127:The beach access was not an option for me with my disibilities. And is not clearly defined. Thus would be awesome for the price of room if they made a path that was nicely lanscaped.
Review 128:The staff was amazing. They arranged for my organic gift basket from a local natural foods store to be delivered to our room minutes before our arrival. This was a gift for my husband for taking care of me though years of illness. It's was full of yummy cheeses and local micro brews. They were still cold :). The room had everything we needed and the bed and bedding was amazing and cozy. Breakfast was yummi with lots of fresh fruit.
Review 129:We had only 2 minor issues. We booked a room for 3, but were given a king bed room. They had no rollaway's, so we were given an air mattress that was half deflated by morning. The other was the gas fireplace. It was on a timer that was extremely loud. The timer ticked down so loudly, we eventually had to just turn it off.
Review 130:The hotel has rooms that ALL have balconies with overlook the bay and ocean, and the breakfast buffet was great! In the lobbies' charming loft it was ample, and delicious.
Review 131:The room didn't have AC but it came with a fan that you could set up next to the sliding door.
Review 132:The jacuzzi tub was amazing and so were the views. We only left the room to get dinner
Review 133:we stayed in the king spa suite. view was awesome and room very clean and nice! everything we expected and more. very nice anniversary getaway and romantic spa for two with ocean view.
