Reviews for Du Bois Lodge
Review 1:You can hike along the crocodile river and see elephants and other animals inside the Kruger. The crocodile bridge gate is few minutes drive away. The owner(Bernadette) is nice and always helpful.
Review 2:We had difficulties to find the property at night.Make sure to arrive during day time, as street is very humbled and not paved. GPS could not find the street and the telefon was on answer. Still the very kind owner found us and we had an good stay - and he drove us to an fine restaurant - and returned.
Review 3:Very nice rooms - but no breakfast offerede.
Review 4:The park it self isn't so nice.
Review 5:Close to Kruger. Nice garden. Super friendly owner. Really helpful with advice. Room is in African theme. We liked it a lot.
Review 6:This is a VERY minor point, but one that I found quite irritating. There is a gate into the property which has to be opened and closed every time (understandable - it is to keep the warthogs out). However, gate is quite difficult to open as bolt is extremely stiff and requires great manoeuvring.
Review 7:As the establishment is self-catering, the kitchen is equipped with just about everything you could possibly require. I also liked the fact that all guests get their own good-sized fridge/freezer and did not have to share. Nick and Bernadette very friendly and helpful.
Review 8:Nothing !
Review 9:Very cheap for all the offer. Very close of the Kruger and Nick was very helpful and friendly. It's one of the best place for watching some animals in the bush.
Review 10:I feel there should be a small safe for valuables as one gets warned continuously to lock and close all doors. I personally feel that there should either be a private or communal TV for one to watch sport or special programs.
Review 11:I like the quiet tranquillity with the roaming animals. The location was fantastic and being in the bush away from neighbours.
Review 12:Without a GPS I would never have found the place.
Review 13:I loved the animals walking past my deck and that the place was spotlessly clean. It was a convenient place to stop for the night before going into the Kruger Park at gate opening time in the morning.Nick was very friendly and made sure everything was good for me.
Review 14:Nick is an excellent host with a great knowledge of the bush and wildlife. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back again. Wonderful having interaction with the wild animals.
Review 15:The warm welcome and excellent location made for a lovely stay! Bernadette and Nick did a fantastic job making us feel welcome, and we look forward to our next stay.
Review 16:Notting.
Review 17:We enjoyed our stay in du bois lodge very much. Nick was very helpfull and friendly. The room we had was Well equiped. I would reccomend the logde to other people.
Review 18:The location was ideal! Bernadette was helpful and friendly
Review 19:Great location & friendly owner! Morning&evening visits of game (Kudrus and Zebras come until your terrasse)
Review 20:The beds not comfortable and pillows not good
Review 21:The entertainment layout with the pool and lovely equipments kitchen
Review 22:Everything
Review 23:Friendly owner, excellent location and good game viewing opportunities
Review 24:Best place to stay outside of the Kruger Park.
Review 25:Not having brought a big group of friends.
Review 26:The easy access to the Crocodile River Gate of the Kruger Park and the facilities for self-catering.
Review 27:Being woken at 4am by a Leopard
Review 28:The beds are bad and need to be replaced
Review 29:Everything was really good and friendly the facilities are good.
Review 30:A proper pool and not just a splash pool would be a lovely addition.
Review 31:There are animals roaming around the lodge and it's very close to Kruger. This almost scary but also lovely bush experience is the asset. But the lodge is also very clean, has a well-equipped kitchen and the owners definitely take good care of it and pay attention to detail.
Review 32:the peaceful setting and area where the lodge is situated and the host and his wife made you feel as if you are family they treated us like we were the only guests that they had their personal attention made you feel special
Review 33:Nick and Bernadette proved welcoming hosts providing perfect guidance byphone to lodge in the absence of gps and did not object to our latearrival. The lodge was stunning with beautiful rustic rooms, giorgeouswooden furniture, a plunge pool and well equipped spacious self cateringkitchen. Marloth park(Marlothi Park) is a council managed conservancy- awildlife gated community. It has limited restaurants, garage andsupermaket and each development is set in its own grounds. It has a noncommercial feeling compared to areas closer to Nelspruit making theplace relaxed if still outside park boundaries. A stone's throw fromCrocodile entrance to Kruger Park. Tours can also be had from the lodgeto Swaziland, Maputo and other attractions.I Hope to go again and bringfriends.Wish we had booked for longer.
Review 34:Bernadette and Nick did everthing to make our stay as comfortable as possibe. Lodge well maintained. Kitchen clean and well equipped. Rooms with air con. Kitchen very clean. Well organized family business.
Review 35:Absolutely nothing, we won"t change a thing!!!!
Review 36:We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Bernadette and Nick areprofessional and extremely friendly. It's affordable, the rooms andpremise are well maintained and self catering friendly. It felt like visiting old friends, Bernadette and Nick have this amazing energy and all the couples ended up sitting around the jaccuzi chatting the night away. We will definitely return, best stay we've experienced in a long time.
