Reviews for Argos Inn

Review 1:The bed was too small and no refrigerator. Too costly for what it offers.

Review 2:The place has a character and I liked the location, the looks and the warm bathroom floor

Review 3:The inn was beautifully restored and the attention to detail of the moldings, paint, bathroom tiles, cleanliness was impeccable! We particularly liked the heated bathroom floor and morning coffee sitting at the large oak table in the community area. We will certainly stay there again on our next visit.

Review 4:It is on a busy street. The road noise in the morning can be a bit loud. If you're a city person and get up early it's not a problem.

Review 5:Very comfortable room. Great location

Review 6:Continental breakfast okay. Same items on each of 4 days that we were there. Very popular bar scene. Difficult to park Saturday evening.

Review 7:Beautiful inn with carefully selected furnishings. Rooms are modern with classy showers that feature heated floors. Hard to keep temperature consistent in room.

Review 8:The breakfast was cereal, stale baked good and orange juice, not what you expect at this price point in a Inn . Music from bar was very loud but did end around 9 as promised.

Review 9:The room was lovely, the Inn very pretty and the folks helpful.

Review 10:The Inn is beautiful and close to the center of town and many great places to eat. The decor was wonderful, the bed was very comfy and the shower was incredible!!

Review 11:Our room was nice but quite small. The location is on a busy road, set back a bit, car park not great. No nice views of the lake or town. Breakfast in the conservatory overlooks the carpark. Food was good - nice fruit, juices and teas , yoghurts, granola etc, but no cooked breakfast as there is no kitchen on site- which was fine for me, but the boys like cooked breakfasts.

Review 12:The people were helpful, they changed the room our grown up kids were in so they did not need to share a bed. The landing area, with books and magazines was nice, the building itself is very fine, good entrance, nice conservatory for tea, comfy sofas in the bar. near beautiful waterfalls.

Review 13:Breakfast was very very disappointing. We came down at 8am and there was almost nothing left. No muffins, no juices, all they had was diet yogurt and coffee. The young man at the desk said a large group had been through and there was nothing left Really?? The breakfast or lack thereof tempers the beauty and comfort of this lovely home.

Review 14:Lovely setting.

Review 15:Although the room was gorgeous the camp beds for our teenage kids were less than ideal and did not really warrant the extra charges.

Review 16:Lovely boutique hotel which is beautifully furnished. Fab cocktails in the bar! We fell in love with this little town and the region - wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 17:Breakfast was very ordinary, and not up to the standard set by the room. The granola was excellent, but yogurt was not. The muffins and pastries were only passable.

Review 18:Comfortable bed, and large room. Staff were generally helpful. Good bar.

Review 19:I really can't complain about the facility at all. It is on a main street, however, and the traffic noise is noticable but not bad.

Review 20:Loved the shower, and the room was comfortable.

Review 21:The inn has a nice collection of modern art mixed with period architecture and traditional furniture. The atmosphere is relaxed during the day and more lively at night when the bar is open.

Review 22:The breakfast was not very good but there were lots of local restaurants a short walk away that made up for it.

Review 23:The bathroom was wonderful with heated floors and a rain Shower head. Very elegant and stylish decor with lots of fun technology. (Nest, apple tv)I wanted to steal the chair in our room it was so cute.

Review 24:The major downfall was breakfast. Started late at 8am and no to go paper cups for coffee. There is no kitchen so breakfast is nothing hot - just pastries etc. Seems like it would be easy to start at 6:30 or 7:00.

Review 25:Great decor and large room. Had an Apple TV. Watched Bridgette Jones' Diary on Netflix with my girls. Next morning tried to watch the am news, but couldn't get out of Netflix. Recently watched movie was ours and 3 gay porn movies. Little weird for my teens to ask what those were. Seems you can see other guests recently watched movies. We laughed, but I'm not sure the porn watchers wanted other guests to know their choices.

Review 26:The room was small and there was minimal hanging space and no other storage space for clothes. It smelt musty and the taps on the basin were set the wrong way round. The high tech TV and air conditioning controls were beyond the capacity of the staff to explain and would have been hopeless for a disabled person d(the room was adapted for a wheelchair user) The breakfast on the first morning was minimal and on the second morning virtually non existent

Review 27:Good location, quiet room

Review 28:The room was small. The sink was in the bedroom, Outside of the washroom which is gross. The bed was very uncomfortable and seemed cheap. The breakfast in the meowing consisted of some muffins, yogurt, Coffee and tea. We expected something more continental especially for the price. There is a bar so in the evenings it is noisy. It's nice to see but we won't be going back or recommending the inn

Review 29:The inn itself is beautiful. And the staff is incredible.

Review 30:The parking lot is a muddy mess. The owners should think about covering it with gravel. This is a Bed and Breakfast, but it only provided a rather meager continental breakfast of muffins, croissants, yogurt, granola, and a bowl of fresh fruit (apples, oranges, bananas) in the middle of the dining table. Under the circumstances, I consider the room a bit overpriced

Review 31:Very lovely room and appointments. The Inn's bar was very charming and comfortable.

Review 32:Little to no hanging or storage space in room. Toilet stopped up twice and I had to use a plunger to unplug it.

Review 33:Excellent staff with good advice regarding local eating establishments. Great bar and music.

Review 34:Our room was called the glass porch room, and although it was beautiful it did her chilly at times since I visited during the dead of winter (it was -30 Celsius that night).

Review 35:The rooms were perfectly cute and cozy and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly at al times.

Review 36:My Wife and I stayed for one night and really enjoyed it. Our room was very nice and the overall atmosphere of the facility was unique and different from a typical hotel. Great bar, close to everything downtown and convenient parking on site.

Review 37:The bed was lumpy and had two deep impressions on both sides of the bed. It was a terrible nights sleep for both of us.!! The lighting in the rooms is poor. the lamps did not give off enough light to see read or see something. Would have like to have coffee earlier than 7:30 am or provide coffee makers in the room

Review 38:The decor, the atmosphere was fun. Just a nice change from a typical hotel.

Review 39:It would be nice to be able to get a few small plates at the bar with cocktails.

Review 40:Argos has terrific public spaces for breakfast or cocktails, decorated with personality and flair. The bathroom features beautiful materials and the bedding was ultra comfy!

Review 41:Great decor, quiet but in heart of town, amazing bar/classy cocktails, great pre-dinner drinks. Can walk to Cornell campus, Collegetown, downtown commons. Delicious breakfast treats and coffee.

Review 42:At the rates charged here, we were expecting breakfast to be a major event. Breakfast, from a self-serve buffet, consisted of coffee or hot tea water from a thermos, OJ, yogurt (whole milk only), milk and granola. There were also what appeared to be biscotti available in a glass jar. If you arose early enough there was a choice of a few apples or bananas. This was billed as "Continental Breakfast". Places we have stayed on the Continent generally include baguettes, butter, honey, jam, and croissants in their breakfast. At the rates we paid, the baguettes and croissants should still have been almost hot from the oven, and that there should have been a choice of plain croissants or croissants au chocolat. We have stayed at Econolodges with better breakfast offerings. With a renowned bakery (Madeleine's) less than two blocks away, providing better options should not be too difficult or too expensive. Breakfast was such a disappointment we went out - once to Hal's Deli (three blocks away), and once to Ithaca Coffee Roasters (across the street) instead of accepting the substandard offerings at the Argos.

Review 43:The décor, location, property and facilities were fine. It is a newly (2014) renovated 19th century home, with a comfortable upscale feel, two short blocks from The Commons - the main downtown section of Ithaca. We also enjoyed one evening's cultural event: a monthly book club discussion run by a local bookstore, and the bar (though service was so slow one would-be patron left after waiting an inordinate amount of time to place an order). Leave the car at the hotel and walk: parking in Ithaca is a nightmare of 15-minute, 1hour and 2 hour meters that don't register your deposited change correctly.

Review 44:Facility and cleanliness! Shower is AMAZING!

Review 45:We had a lovely time. Great rooms and a fun atmosphere.

Review 46:staff was great. they had mistakenly gave us an upgrade but honored the original price

Review 47:very good

Review 48:Early morning traffic noise a slight inconvenience.

Review 49:Beautiful décor, lovingly renovated old structure. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 50:Breakfast was honest but could be improved easily with instant oat meal etc.

Review 51:Comfortable room and excellent bathroom.

Review 52:comfortable room, friendly staff

Review 53:TV didn't work

Review 54:Very clean

Review 55:The front of their property should be kept in better condition.

Review 56:Helpfulness of staff, cleanliness of room and outdoor area, incredible shower!

Review 57:Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Beautiful room, very spacious

Review 58:The ouside patio and foodtruck on Thursday's and Friday's were the icing on the cake

Review 59:Loved the bar and cocktail menu, the patio and the food truck on Thurs and Fri night. It was a lovely scene.

Review 60:No complaints

Review 61:Location Staff Had Netflix and Hulu on TV It was a lovely place. Felt as if I was staying in someone's home.

Review 62:Welcoming and helpful staff. And the bar is a great place to meet!

Review 63:This place is a gem. I love the character of the place, its quality is first rate. and the bar is a mini SOHO House!
