Reviews for Maison Géron

Review 1:The room was smaller than expected from the photograph, especially the shower was a bit claustrophobic.

Review 2:Maison Géron is a tidy bed and breakfast, everything is clean, neat and orderly. The beds are very comfortable. Everything about this b&b is carefully thought out. Especially breakfast seemed to be prepared for a photoshoot, every day small salmon flakes were arranged in a flower. We were even served champagne at new years day.

Review 3:Despite numerous good comments on here, we weren't impressed at all by the owner's hospitality. We were addressed in a patronizing way a couple of times before we even got up to the room after check-in.

Review 4:Coziness of the place

Review 5:Each room is individual, the host is friendly and serves a unique breakfast. There is Wifi, enough parking lots and an amazing garden. The town can be reached easily (approx. 5min by car)

Review 6:A minor quibble; the small basin in the ensuite was almost impossible to use to wash your face as there was a cupboard just above it.

Review 7:The location suited us perfectly - in a rural area just 3km from Malmedy. This B&B has been decorated by someone who has a real flair for shabby chic design. The breakfast room is a delight.

Review 8:Lacking air conditioning, if the weather is as insufferably hot as it was during my stay, you will cook!

Review 9:Maison Geron is a charming place, located close to Malmedy and the Circuit at Spa. The owner is very friendly and attentive, there's a delicious, ample breakfast on offer every day, and the place has the comforts of an old country-house hotel.

Review 10:The host was very friendly and made me feel comfortable dunking my stay, an amazing buffet breakfast, clean and spacious rooms, what more could you ask for

Review 11:We loved everything in this hotel. Everything was taken care to the detail, from the reception to the breakfast, the decoration, the room. You can see that this place is extremely well cared. The brekafast is awesome. Not a big amount of things but a selection of very good quality products. The place is super nice. The style is quite particular, as can be seen in the pictures, but it has been done with so much attention to the detail that the result is awesome. The surroundings are perfect for nice hikings.

Review 12:The bathtub under a sloped roof was tricky for my tall husband, but we knew what we were getting when we booked.

Review 13:Our room was adorable, our hostess very welcoming (French- and German-speaking), and the breakfast a delight.

Review 14:The bed was too soft for us.

Review 15:The hotel is cosy and stylish, very pleasant, quiet, and very clean. The staff is very kind! Breakfast was wonderful We really enjoyed our stay

Review 16:Superb styling of the hotel, way too romantic for me as I was travelling alone on a business trip, but I would love to go back there with my wife Lovely breakfast with all sorts of fresh produce Excellent staff speaking English, French and German

Review 17:There was no were near for a coffee and due to the fact it was a B & B we werent provided with one. after a long journey you could really do with one.

Review 18:I loved the unusally character of the place, and the owner went out of her way to help if she could.

Review 19:The only thing I could criticize would be that our attic room only had a bathtub and hand held shower which made it difficult to have a proper shower. It wasn't a big deal.

Review 20:The building was decorated very thoughtfully with lots of neat pictures and art. The house its self had a lot of great character! Our host was excellent. She was informative and very attentive. Breakfast was quite good and even included quail's egg.

Review 21:Nothing to not like

Review 22:Location was great and easy to find. Owner/Manager was really pleasant and helpful. Room very comfortable - bed was huge! The overall cleanliness of the property was fantastic - everything was absolutely spotless! Breakfast was great - so much of it!!

Review 23:Location

Review 24:This warm, elegant hotel is definitely worth a visit. The proprietor has used all her skills in the decor throughout the house. Breakfast is a wonderful experience.

Review 25:Beware rugs on slippery floor

Review 26:We booked this hotel in Belgium as it is not too long a drive from Germany on the way home to the UK. Our Satnav took us a very strange way to the hotel down a narrow winding country road. When it said we had arrived, we had not arrived at the hotel but at a farm. Fortunately there was someone at the farm who directed us 1 km further down the road. So don't be surprised if your Satnav says you have arrived when you haven't. When we did arrive at the hotel it was a lovely surprise. This very old 18th century hotel (so expect a truly old feel stay) we were told is part of 2 hotels next to each other owned by the same family. There is also a restaurant in the other hotel which it appears only opens at the weekend. The lady at reception was very nice and showed us our rooms. Both us and our friends had rooms on the first floor. We had room number 2 which was next to theirs. We looked at the other room first and it was beautifully decorated but the bathroom had an old fashioned sit up bath/bidet which you often find in these very old hotels. As my wife, who has a muscle illness, would not have been able to get in and out of it we gave that room to our friends and decided to take room 2 next door irrespective of what the bathroom held. What joy. It had a full bath in an unusual colour which unfortunately had a bit of peeling finish. The bath itself is a bit slippery when wet so be careful getting in and out. There is a shower head but no shower curtain so it is fitted low down and you will have to hold it if you prefer a shower. There were plenty of towels of which only one was a bath towel but it had 2 bath robes which were the first we have received on our 10 hotel trip. As with all of our trip in France Germany and Belgium, the towels are hard as it appears no one adds softener in the wash. The floors are beautiful polished wood and warm to walk on, but I recommend that you remove any rugs on the floor as it makes them slippery.

Review 27:A well presented and hearty breakfast

Review 28:Rather small shower.

Review 29:Breakfast!

Review 37:Not a problem for me, but quite some stairs to reach the rooms.

Review 38:Breakfast really good! Also possible to have breadfast very early in the morning!

Review 39:The restaurant opposite is closed in the week, and there was no walkable alternative.

Review 40:Extraordinary breakfast + decoration of the place that gives attention to the minimal details

Review 41:Everything

Review 42:Had to leave very early, but at 06:30 an excellent breakfast was ready. Home made jams!

Review 47:nothing

Review 48:so clean so freindly will with out a doubt stop there again highly recomended

Review 49:There was nothing to dislike. During the evening there was a severe thunderstorm which tore down some tree branches but the proprietress was out cleaning it all up the moment the rain stopped!

Review 50:The rooms are beautifully appointed, as is the whole house. The breakfast was wonderful including individual quail eggs poached and delivered to your table.

Review 51:Beautiful,elegant country house full of personality, charm and style. Tastefully decorated with wonderful furniture and gorgeous textiles, with many charming details and little touches. Spotlessly clean throughout. Very friendly and welcoming lady-of-the-house. The breakfast was truly delicious and of top quality. A fantastic place to relax and unwind. The garden is simply superb.

Review 52:Very clean room with comfortable bed. Eye for decoration and detail. The breakfast buffet was authentic, extensive, with again eye for detail. Excellent service. We enjoyed our stay. A lot of hiking opportunity in the area.

Review 53:Everything! We would love to return there anytime. Because of the road works in front of the house, the owner made a lovely gesture in the form of a discount. Highly appreciated!

Review 54:tv in room is very small, no real lobby space (but of course it's a bed & breakfast, not a hotel).

Review 55:Very friendly reception, green and quiet environment, breakfast, very well maintained rooms (spic & span), dressing-gown, rooms decorated with a personal touch

Review 56:The sink stil have the old cold water and got water seperated, difficult to manage to wash my face. The hostess is dressing a bit drama and a bit fake hospitality.

Review 57:The house is amazingly beautiful and the bed was comfortable

Review 58:+ You can hear the road from inside the room (although it wasn't that busy)

Review 59:+ Lovely breakfast with homemade jams + Great atmosphere + Friendly host

Review 60:Our room on the second floor was a bit out of range for the wifi.

Review 61:The hostess was very welcoming and served the best breakfast I've certainly had in a B&B. Lovely house and surrounding.

Review 62:That I could only spend 2 nights there!

Review 63:Very helpful, friendly owner. Loved the Christmas decorations. Superb breakfast. I definitely intend to go back.

Review 64:Superb aspect, Old Bond Street level decoration comparable to the Kennard in Bath, i.e., luxurious but with Madame Thomas' personal touch; unique breakfast; I lost my car keys, and Madame Thomas made every effort to help find them.

Review 65:A perfect place to stay when visiting the Ardennes. The hotel is very cosy and nicely decorated. Rooms are clean, the breakfast is great and the owner is very helpful.

Review 66:A lovely hotel, very nicely decorated and great staff. I would definitely recommend it to everyone! Maastricht is an hour away, also nature is beautiful. Many outdoor activities are possible. So this hotel offers a good mix of romance, shopping, nature, and culture.

Review 67:The location of the hotel is a little farther from town than I would have liked and required driving into town to get your evening meal.

Review 68:Spotlessly clean well equipped bedroom.Great filling and healthy options breakfast. Good free parking and internet access. A very old house that has been furnished and decorated to reflect the era of the build. A great location to use as a base when exploring the Ardennes,

Review 69:The distance to the circuit de spa franchorchamps for the F1. Breakfast spread in the morning. Beautiful views. Comfortable, relaxed rooms. Great hostess!

Review 70:Beautiful building with beautiful rooms. The host is very gracious and accommodating. Breakfast was great. Location is close enough to towns but far enough away to feel as though you have really escaped.

Review 71:We absolutely loved Maison Geron. Renate was very kind and thoughtful. The House was beautiful, the location was excellent. When we arrived Renate upgraded us to another room free of charge, the bedroon was lovely and spacious. The garden and surroundings are very lovely. Breakfast was truely amazing, one of the best places we have stayed in. Renate could not do enough. I even left my jacket and cellphone behind after we left and she emailed me straight away to let me know and has posted it back to New Zealand. We stayed for 3 nights and we would definitely go back again and stay. Excellent value for money.

Review 72:I was very unhappy with the room as online their was a picture of the room I thought I had booked, but when we got there we were put into an attic room with hardly any view, it was really a let down.

Review 73:outside of town, need a car to get there, nowhere to have dinner near the hotel

Review 74:quirky design of the room, beautiful (regal) breakfast room, huge choice of food for breakfast

All details., so clean, neat everywhere, the madame the ower so frindly and helpful with her unique dress ! We love it! Review 78:If you want a romantic weekend this has it all. The owner is doing a perfect job to make it very romantic. The rooms look great but also the breakfast is well done. They look at the little things which is making it perfect. Also easu to travel to nice places like Luxembourg or Trier. We had a fantastic time and we wont forget it easy.

Review 79:The whole atmosphere in the hotel is one of romance and beauty :-). Nicely decorated, into the smallest details, the host lady took meticulously care of the entire experience: warm welcome, nicely decorated rooms with an own character, and a great breakfast, including daily different jams, presented with great care. In one word: top class! The environment itself contributes to this, in the lovely nature around Malmedy.

Review 80:Everything, it was the perfect choice. The room was spacious, full of charme, clean. Breakfast rich and tasty, marvellous home made marmelades. The lady very kind.

Review 81:Our room was sumptuously decorated, but very kitsch and funereal: greyvelvet and gold everywhere! Even the shower curtain and the walls wereblack! "Horror vacui" style Avoid this room, the others were quitedifferent and more positive.

Review 82:The rooms were clean and the owner is extremely helpful. Beautifullocation and nice view of the garden from the bow windows. Everythingthere was very neat.

Review 83:Booked the Suite which did not have a walk in shower.
