Reviews for Trip Hotel Ithaca

Review 1:Dirty facilities. Don't take your shoes off. Bugs on walls, dirty mattress covers on uncomfortable mattresses.garbage on hallway floor that was there the whole weekendDirty facilities. Don't take your shoes off. Bugs on walls, dirty mattress covers on uncomfortable mattresses.garbage on hallway floor that was there the whole weekend. Towels were also ragged.

Review 2:Nothing.

Review 3:Hosts and clients were very polite, extending greetings, offering advice on how to navigate breakfast for instance. The room we stayed in was very nicely prepared each day, so nice. The carpets in halls may need to be renewed, the inner exterior court should be kept better.

Review 4:The staff was exceptionally nice. The young lady who seemed to be in a responsible position is a treasure.

Review 5:The location was good for our purpose of this trip. However this hotel is in need of a full renovation. The staff was very nice, however to me it was not staffed enough , particular as this was a graduation weekend. They tried their very best to please the guest by having a welcoming bag, a graduation bear and a small bottle of champagne for the occasion. It was not really worth the price we paid.

Review 6:The staff were nice -

Review 7:Could have used a lunar rover to negotiate the parking lot; exterior front of property in desperate need of upgrading; currently does not send an inviting message breakfast room severely understaffed on weekend of Cornell graduation (Saturday)

Review 8:friendly and extremely helpful staff; I felt as though they were celebrating my child's graduation with me!

Review 9:There was no remote control in the room. Was told it was broken, and there weren't any others available - sorry . . . Eventually they brought one to me that did work. Also, no extra blankets available in the room (only the very light-weight one already on the bed). They "managed" to find one for me, but made it sound like a special request. The pillows were small; not standard size.

Review 10:The room was fine. Everything was clean.

Review 11:Our room probably should not have been reserved. It was very dusty when I entered; I dusted all the furniture myself. The TV had the wrong remote. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom, just two holes in the wallpaper. The house keeping lacked attention to detail - the kleenex box was not replaced until our last day and the housekeeper did not seem to know how to make a bed.

Review 12:Richard and Ashley at the front desk were exceptional in their cordiality and willingness to help.

Review 13:Lack of communication regarding reservation despite (booked in July 2014)stressful. Argumenative front desk staff decrepit decor throughout and seedy parking lot.sign said under renovations we stayed 3 days never saw any work exterior overgrown grass no landscaping. Quite a dump and expensive wished we would have left and drive elsewhere.

Review 14:Linens and room were clean and fresh.

Review 15:- run down inside & out, decrepit, dilapidated, shoddy - broken towel bar - no extra blankets - very noisy - location is desolate; parking lot is a mess; place looks deserted-look at the pic

Review 16:- bed, bedding: clean, fresh & comfortable - shower, shower curtain & separate hot & cold faucets - mini-fridge - window that opens (tho the screen/lock kind of broken)

Review 17:This was the worst place I have ever stayed at in my entire life. It was so bad that we thought about sleeping in our car instead, but it was cold and snowing outside.

Review 18:The room was cold and took forever to heat up. The hallways were dank. The lobby was musty and not welcoming

Review 19:The faculties of the room were sufficient but nothing to brag about.

Review 20:the place looks run down, abandoned, holes in the hall walls, peeling paint, beat up pavement, carpet dirty, our key didn't work so we had to switch rooms, one of the beds was lacking sheets, we had no coffee for the coffee maker, the help was nice enough but incompetent, I will be sure to reserved well ahead of time if we have to return to Ithaca so I can avoid being stuck here again.

Review 21:Pool closed, been there twice closed both times. Hotel of last resort in Ithaca. To bad with a little more effort it could be a good place. Parking lighting and lot conditions poor. First stay I thought they were in renovation mode, some things better but still a ways to go.

Review 22:Place was very run down and had a bit if a creepy feel. Surprised at the price relative to the condition of the property. But room was comfortable enough and got the job done.

Review 23:Close to Ithaca College, while preferred hotels we looked at first were full.

Review 24:Room was cold upon arrival; took a while to warm up. Not the most modern décor; had the look of a facility that was grand in its day, but modernization was just being started.

Review 25:Room was short on bath towels, but staff responsive in bringing towels up.

Review 26:2 heaters --1 blew cool air. Broken thermostat. There was only a flimsy cotton blanket on the bed. To his credit, a staff member quickly delivered 2 warm blankets when I called front desk... but why were they not provided in the first place? Several sq. yards of ceiling of shelter above main entrance was missing. Extensive parking lot is full of large potholes. The windowless main building looks as though it could have been a cinema in the past. Hard to tell which was the main entrance. Because of the 2 open/unlocked doors to the outside near the wing where I was staying, and the proximity of a large strip mall, I did not feel totally safe at night. Although breakfast is included, much of it consisted of pre-packaged pastries --so I chose to go elsewhere. I came to visit an area university with my son, who spent the night in a dorm. We did not know far enough in advance that we were making this trip, so all the other hotels were fully booked.

Review 27:The room and bathroom themselves were clean and comfortable. Both front desk staff were helpful and patient, despite the fact that they were scrambling to accommodate guests on an unusually busy weekend.

Review 28:The appearance of the hotel..it was very dated looking, the parking lot was in poor condition. The inside of the building was under renovation and parts of the outside were not well maintained. Pillows were small and bathroom was not in the bast shape...knob was partially missing and drainage was slow.

Review 29:The hotel staff was friendly and there was wi fi. The room was clean.

Review 30:Terribly run down facility, the roof in the front of the hotel has collapsed and parking lot caving in too. Looks deserted and very creepy inside and unsafe no doors lock into hotel. Hotel went from bad to worse.

Review 31:Absolutely nothing!

Review 32:Stayed there a few years back and it was a nice hotel. Maybe new owners who don't care. But it was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life.

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:Place is worn out. Dirty. Obviously no maintenance or repairs have been done for a long time. Mattress stained, carpet filthy. Nasty.

Review 35:front desk staff

Review 36:Common spaces like the Ballroom bathrooms, and the pool area, were not cleaned for the entire weekend! Also many simple repairs like broken doors latches and light bulbs should be done daily. It was kind of creepy.

Review 37:The room, which had been renovated, was clean and comfortable, though some previous mold damage could be found.

Review 38:The worst hotel experience in my entire life. Dirty, ugly, mold every where, disgusting. They are taking advantage of the college visiting parents and overcharging their rooms. Big time rip off!!!!!! I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!!!!

Review 39:Many signs of an aging property that should be completely renovated or bulldozed. This might be OK if the price was low, but our one night cost was $179 plus tax. Yes this was Colombus day weekend and the leaves were at peak but the value was not there. Would not book again at any price.

Review 40:Rooms well equipped but showing age. In need of a real (not partial) overhaul,.

Review 41:Everything else. There are zero lights in the parking lo. It's so dark that it's scary, and it's in truly terrible condition, so it's dangerous, too. The hotel itself is also so dark that we were unsure we wanted to go in. The mattress needs replacing--the trough in the middle was so deep that the bed seemed to be collapsing in on itself. The breakfast was a joke unless you're fond of cold cereal and like your coffee with grounds. Common areas are not maintained--one overflowing wastebasket by the door never did get emptied during our stay. Outside doors were never locked. We're sorry we stayed at this place.

Review 42:The room had been redecorated. That was nice.

Review 43:Wall paper peeling from walls. Open air conditioner cover in hallway, so there was a hole in the wall to the outside. Dirty hallway carpeting. Dead bugs in bathtub. Older fixtures, towels. Decrepit parking lot PRICE....$200 for one night!

Review 44:Bed Wifi Staff Coffee Flat screen TV

Review 45:the exterior is a poorly lit, it's tough to tell where the front of the hotel is, the parking lot is a mess; the hallways are poorly maintained and carpet is loose and wallpaper is peeling. The bathrooms are substandard, with a leaking faucet in the shower.

Review 46:nothing

Review 47:Dark interior and especially exterior; needs outdoor lighting in parking lot; wallpaper in room peeling; wifi not reliable; continental breakfast heat and serve; only one microwave for all the guests to heat their breakfast sandwich; too much for an overnight stay given overall condition of property-- should be under $60 at most-- until upgrades are done.

Review 48:Size of room; cleanness of room; location good for north campus residence halls

Review 49:Looked like a warehouse, broken doors, ripped carpet, vomit stained. Cigarette smoking check in person. Heroin Hotel!!

Review 50:The room itself was actually the best part, otherwise, horrible & scary

Review 51:The place is SO run down, we weren't sure it was actually open when we drove up. It looks like an abandoned warehouse or recently bankrupt motel. The room was clean but we had to wear shoes all the time because the floor/carpet was damp and had a musty smell.

Review 52:The room was clean although very outdated and kind of ugly. Good location if you are in town for college events. Safe neighborhood.

Review 53:the price for what you got and the cleanliness of the hotel. The parking lot is terrible. Curtains in the main areas not hung properly very easy fix and would make it look so much better. No vacuuming in the halls had been done, but the room was clean, but dated.

Review 54:Closeness to where we needed to

Review 55:Very run down hallways, parking lot a disaster, pool run down, breakfast questionable.

Review 56:Great location for taking our son to Cornell. The room was clean and comfortable. The rest of the hotel was very run down, including the parking lot. We were grateful to find something available for move in day for Cornell and the staff was nice.

Review 57:everything from the pot hole ridden parking lot to the rough non-tiled hallway including the musty smell in the room. This hotel was probably beautiful 20 years ago but not one upgrade has been done since the 80's. Value for the $ = 0.

Review 58:the pillows

Review 59:The hotel smells musty and appears very run down. The parking lot is vacant and full of pot holes. The atmosphere is scary. It takes forever to take a shower because the water pressure is low and the water temperature changes. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and I believe that booking.com should remove it from its listing

Review 60:the bed is comfortable and the TV is new.

Review 61:Parking lot in very poor condition. Although there appears to me renovations being made hallways in poor condition.

Review 62:Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 63:View from window of electric substation. Help yourself junk breakfast. Tawdry furniture. Surly staff

Review 64:The outside doors didn't lock. We felt very unsafe.

Review 65:Pool was temporarily out of order.

Review 66:Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. They made a special weekend occasion extra special.

Review 67:Old. Didn't clean bathroom or replace towels. No hot water one of the mornings.

Review 68:Location

Review 69:The rug was not clean the bathroom had no fan

Review 70:The bed was comfortable and clean

Review 71:appearence

Review 72:price and breakfast

Review 73:The place was filthy it had mold in the bathroom no security at all anybody can walk in and out of that place anytime they wanted

Review 74:Parking lot needs to be repaved!

Review 75:The breakfast was okay. I really wished there were more choices.

Review 76:I loved how close it was to the University.

Review 77:We couldn't use indoor pool. The hallways were not clean.

Review 78:The beds were comfortable, and the location was good.

Review 79:Very close to Cornell and room size is big as compared to other hotels in the area.

Review 80:Price Estetics Breakfast

Review 81:Proximity to Cornell

Review 82:Outside and common areas of hotel had seen better days and need some work

Review 83:Good location, beds were comfortable

Review 84:hallway carpets dingy

Review 85:swimming pool

Review 86:Everything

Review 87:Distant to Cornell

Review 88:Pool closed not as clean as should be. My room was clean.

Review 89:Kids expected to swim; very disappointed that pool was shut down by BOH and we were not advised of this. Courtyard had one table with 2 chairs; kids had to sit on laps as they like to eat outside for breakfast! No (broken)ice machine. Couldn't get into exercise room. Very over-priced. I feel a reduction in price would have been nice since finding no pool upon arrival. This would have changed my opinion immensely.

Review 90:Rooms were clean and comfortable; although "strange" odor-maybe just from being shut up, but should have been "aired out" before arrival. Continental breakfast was sufficient. Staff helpful when asked questions about directions, etc. and friendly.

Review 91:Hotel is empty, looks shabby...a shadow of what it once was and could be. Parking lot needs repair, but so does everything except the guest rooms that are rented.

Review 92:Room is well-appointed, clean, renovated

Review 93:The place is a dump, and is badly in need of upgrading. Are you kidding me??.....the rugs are filthy, the pool roof falling apart, and the parking lot is all potholes. The elevator did not even have an inspection stamp in it. And the flat screen TV is 100% analog.....no HD channels at all, and this is 2014.

Review 94:Once inside the room, the place is fine. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower nice.

Review 95:outside doors didn't close, much less lock. Creepy outside. No wifi.No payperview. Exit fell off whn we walked under it. Pool ares in disrepair.

Review 96:beds were comfortable and clean Staff was nice.

Review 97:Facilities have seen better days. Dated interior and rooms, but they were comfortable. Plus parking lot was an obstacle course.

Review 98:Price and accessibility to Cornell University. Also close to amll if necessary.

Review 99:The pool and surrounding area smelled like death. The hallways looked like an abandoned mental institution. It looks more like a warehouse on the outside than a hotel.

Review 100:The room was satisfactory.

Review 101:See above.

Review 102:This place was disgusting. Broken outside doors. Carpeting was filthy, rooms old with peeling wall paper. Coffee pot was dirty. The place was gross. The parking lot had Prius sized craters and paint was peeling off interior and exterior walls. Despite complaints, staff allowed teenagers run the halls screaming and pounding on doors from 4pm to 1am. Ridiculous. I wish I could get my $171 back.

Review 103:The building was old, dilapidated, smelled bad. The staff were rude and discourteous, especially when asked to replenish the "continental breakfast." The dining area was filthy during the free "breakfast", with garbages overflowing, tables unwiped. The pool enclosure was very chilly. The front desk staff were often absent. At times it seemed like no one was working there. The Wi-Fi in the business center was a joke. The parking lot was rutted & full of holes, and the outside structure of the building was in severe disrepair. I will not be returning.

Review 104:Our room was clean & updated (except the bathroom). I liked the décor in the room. There was a chalk board on the wall in our room, which was a nice touch

Review 105:There were bedbugs and we had to leave after our first night there. The manager was EXCELLENT in getting us a new place to stay, but it was very inconvenient, and they didn't evacuate the building. I feel bad for all the others that were staying there and didn't know :( Bathrooms were very dingy. Lots of mildew and caulk to try to cover it up. Here's to hoping we didn't bring home any bedbugs with us!!!

Review 106:Location was good, as it was close to where we needed to be (Ithaca College). The rooms LOOKED nice and clean, with the exception of the bathroom.

Review 107:My hotel room desk had sticky glass stains on it. The carpet was covered with stains. The hotel gave me the feeling of a "ghost hotel" for impoverished travellers. Your pictures on your website were deceiving. Major renovations are needed. Even the parking lot was full of potholes and seemed vacant. You need better signage... difficult to find from the main expressway turnoff.

Review 108:The hotel room had linoleum flooring which was quite disturbing. Thebathroom was filthy I could not shower in it. The walls had an unknownsubstance which could pass as old food or the remains of a crime scene. The hotel smelled like mold. Overall, the hotel is outdated and shouldnot be charging the amount paid. I will never book this hotel again.

Review 109:carpet and walls were old and dirty. I could see that you are trying to fix up the place.

Review 110:clean bed and bathroom

Review 111:No wi fi very slow can't use the coffee maker got roaches inside and no microwave

Review 112:It's not a terrible hotel but very dated. Many parts of the building looked run down and for the money it's a bit overpriced.

Review 113:The facility is very run down and out dated

Review 114:The room was clean and comfortable

Review 115:very dirty room and bathroom. Cigarette burns on carpet. No way anybody should pay $189 per night. Had to move to another hotel

Review 116:Food,appearance
