Reviews for Harbor Lite Lodge

Review 1:there was nothing I didn't like about it.

Review 2:We loved the wood burning fireplace in the room and that we had our own private balcony. Loved that we could walk to the beach from the hotel and had a great view of the harbor. would definitely stay there again!

Review 3:We had a great time located in a great area the staff was awesome very good people I would stay here again for sure and will recommend this hotel tony friends

Review 4:TV was crazy to operate. Way too complicated. Fortunately there is so little on TV, it wasn't a big issue.

Review 5:Very comfortable, nice covered balcony for the room.

Review 6:Perfect location Extremely comfortable room... clean and spacious... Superb hospitality... and the best freshly made Belgian Waffles every morning...

Review 7:The exterior of the building and hallways are outdated, but the updated room made up for that. Also, breakfast was lacking/non-existent.I would not consider breakfast included, as it was insufficient and required going out.

Review 8:Great location, close to shops and restaurants. The room we stayed in had a kitchenette and was well stocked and clean. The room was large with a great view, warm natural lighting, and a fantastic balcony!

Review 9:Very thin walls. I was downstairs and you could hear every foot step from above. And the wifi did not work whatsoever. Poor connection

Review 10:The balcony was amazing

Review 11:The pillows really aren't very comfortable, and the heater thermostat was difficult to read so at first we blasted ourselves out with the heat because there were no markings on the thing.

Review 12:Love the view, the location and the overall amenities of the place. I've been going there for years.

Review 13:The river view overlooking Noyo Channel; hearing the fog horn in the distance; beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Good breakfast choices. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Must eat at the North Coast Brewing Company Tap Room!

Review 14:The only downfall is that the suite is close to the bridge/ freeway which means we could hear the traffic while we were sitting on the deck and that was pretty noisy but other than that it was great

Review 15:We got upgraded to a suite that we really loved the staff was amazing very friendly very helpful let us look at all the rooms before we made a decision. Awesome customer service and just a great overall time

Review 16:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cabin was older but nice. It was a change from hotels that we stayed at during this vacation, but we enjoyed the change.

Review 17:We had a great two day stay. The room was spotless, and very well refurbished. The continental breakfast was excellent, in a cozy dinning area. Try the delicious waffles. It was great staying there again after 25 years.

Review 18:The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Everything was fresh and delicious. Thank you for helping to make our trip more enjoyable.

Review 19:I was harrassed about my fully legal registered and certified service dog. Which is against the law. I found that most disrespectful.

Review 20:Location to my business meeting was excellent

Review 21:We were close to the bridge, but somehow the traffic did not disturb our sleep. Oh yes, I am a short person and climbing into bed was just that - a climb.

Review 22:We liked the spacetiousness of the room, the balcony on a sunny afternoon, the kitchenette, the shower, the friendly desk people. We liked that the biker group was mature and quiet. Beautiful bikes.

Review 23:Most rooms have River/harbour views. We didn't have a room with a view and it was a pity that there were no public areas where you could sit to enjoy the outlook.

Review 24:Excellent staff Clean rooms, good bed, hot shower

Review 25:My experience was great. Even though it is right off the Hwy the road traffic was not too bad.

Review 26:I liked the view of the harbor and took my morning walk down there. The room was updated and clean. Crisp sheets and towels. The staff made me a waffle in the morning and had a great egg cup available for just $1.00. Very friendly and informative staff. I would stay here again.

Review 27:The location overlooking the river mouth is stunning. Worth having the upper storey rooms for a slightly better view (and no-one overhead!). They do cost more though, which we hadn't realised!

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:Very well appointed suite, very spacious, great breakfast. Thought proximity to road bridge would be noise problem - but glazing copied and we sleptwell.

Review 30:Bed was not the most comfortable, but comparable with the average hotel.

Review 31:The Studio room was a completely remodelled room with kitchenette and contemporary bathroom. The location was very nice, overlooking the river/harbor. Continental Breakfast was decent and they offered optional upgrades for a nominal charge.

Review 32:Staff at front desk unfriendly. Not welcoming at all. Just said, " credit card and id." No welcome, no offer to recommend places to visit. Bathroom was very dark. No soap dish or place to put washcloth in tub. Light in ceiling one bulb, no fixture.

Review 33:Convenient location River view

Review 34:From the extremely rude staff to the colored water that was supposed to be soap, the rooms charged way to much for what we got. Beds were as hard a rock and breakfast was bs. Never staying there again!

Review 35:My boyfriend

Review 36:Our room location was very un-special--view of the parking lot and directly next to Hwy 1. This was a big disappointment.

Review 37:I love the location--close enough to Mendocino, but also on the fishing harbor.

Review 38:Was not at all like the website pictures. WiFi was terrible. Only chairs in the room were two dining table, straight-back ones. The "patio" view faced a sidewalk & side of the building. Very disappointing.

Review 39:No a/c and proximity to the highway made for a noisy night with the door open to cool our room.

Review 40:Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very tasty.

Review 41:The breakfast was my least favorite. I probably would have selected a different hotel had I known about the breakfast.

Review 42:Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is located centrally in Ft Bragg, which was great for our daily excursions.

Review 43:hard mattress, overhead pipe in room and hallway. bathroom light stayed dim until it finally had time to warm up to brightness. Breakfast was cereal and beverage extra charge for waffle or hard boiled egg.

Review 44:location. desk clerk furnished us with small lantern due to bathroom light. newer furniture. clean room and bath.

Review 45:The room was dated. It was a hot weekend and because our room opened up to main courtyard area, we couldn't open our slider.

Review 46:Close to harbor, quick access from highway

Review 47:The password for the wifi didn't work. I didn't notice until office was closed due to being out exploring. I also didn't like they put a hold on my money even after I paid my bill with my debit card.

Review 48:The rooms were very clean. Had a great view of the river. We were close to everything we needed. Loved the fact they had an outside sink and a walking path.

Review 49:Sink was in a wierd place. The toliet was very close to the wall so lil cramped.

Review 50:The bed was just right - not to soft or too hard. The view of Noyo Harbor was nice. The location was centrally located - near gas station, grocery stores and restuarants. The room was clean and updated. The price was good in comparison to others in the area. We stayed in king room on 2nd floor. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Review 51:Closeness to the marina was nice... until bed time. We had to keep the black out curtains closed to block the light, which then also blocked the breeze. As there is no AC I could see how this would be an issue in warmer months. Bathroom floor felt slanted and the room was dated, but overall everything was clean, so no complaints.

Review 52:Great location just as you enter Fort Bragg (heading North up the coast) - you can almost walk down to the marina if you don't mind the hill. Bed was super comfy and the TV included HBO which my boyfriend loved. Staff was super friendly, even calling us to let us know that we had accidentally left the trunk popped on the car!

Review 53:We booked a room with a view, and were promptly told "no you didn't, we don't have anything available". This was the same women has worked at the front desk for years; each year, at check in, she has gotten more and more of an attitude. Also, the "free breakfast" is sparse and things that would normally be free, cost $1. No one on site late at night to deal with yelling/loud customers. Friendliness of most of the day staff was really lacking. Lastly, the Wi-Fi was awful.

Review 54:For a little bit of a longer stay, I like that the facility has washer and dryers. The over night office gentleman was so nice and welcomed the questions we had.

Review 55:The hallway and room were depressing. Very low light in the bathroom. Room furnishings were tacky. Exposed fire sprinkler pipes was tacky.

Review 56:It was convenient. Price was good.

Review 57:Wi-Fi was spotty- it was better in the room then on the deck. The young lady at the desk could have been a little friendlier and helpful, everyone else was great!

Review 58:Bed was comfy, The water was hot, the shower worked great and the tub drained. View was amazing, The room had lots of space - Most of the staff was very friendly - The fog horn and traffic was not an issue at all, the rooms are almost sound proof when the doors are closed- I love that this hotel is not in the center of town. Very relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle. Cant wait to go back and visit.

Review 59:The odd room layout. The sink area was in the room next to the tv. That doesnt give much privacy.

Review 60:Love how the balconies are oriented to give the best view and most privacy sbd shelter. We sat outside with our wine and watched Ospreys carry fish up the river and watched the fishing boats return.

Review 61:We were given one of the larger rooms, considering the rate we paid, and they kindly put us on a quiet end of the complex. Over three days, every one of the staff we met was happy, agreeable and helpful. It was very clean and pleasant inside, and had lots of nice landscaping outside. Would not have liked being on the highway side of the building.

Review 62:I just think it was too expensive at $150 including tax.

Review 63:Very clean room with a balcony overlooking Noyo Harbor. The view is goodand not so good. To your left, you look down at a bevy of buildings, dilapidated boats and a smattering of RV'S. To the right is abeautiful waterway where you can watch boats come in and out of theharbor. Use your right eye...

Review 64:Great location to the Glass beach and to Q's barbecue which is amazing ... definitely go to Q's which is just off Highway 1 before the turn to the hotel.

Review 65:Our room a bit musty smelling, Next time a room with a view is preferred. We looked out at the propane tank. No table on deck.

Review 66:Everything overall, thus the 9.6 overall score.

Review 67:The room had no climate control, it was very hot and stuffy despite being so close to the ocean. The office staff blatantly ignored us, even when we were asking them a question. It was not worth the price I paid.

Review 68:The bed was comfortable, and the room was surprisingly clean.

Review 69:I understand why they do it, but charging for some of the breakfast items seemed overly stingy and cheap WiFi was intermittent

Review 70:Loved the location and view of Noyo harbor from the small balcony. If view is important, ask for "river" view room. Fishermen/women would like the abundant ice We will stay here again

Review 71:We came very late, it was already at 2am but we were assured that it will be okay and the person that met us was very polite. The room itself was really old but the room was so clean, you cannot say anything bad with its cleanliness. Continental breakfast was very good, although it does a very limited space.

Review 72:The woman at the front desk acted like she had disdain for all the guests. Breakfast was deplorable. The bed had a "hole" in the mattress and my husband got a sore back and barely got any sleep. While we stayed at the "de luxe side" it had only the basic comfort. Not a good value.

Review 73:The front desk gentleman who checked us in was very pleasant.

Review 74:I love the friendliness of the staff and the view of the harbor. I am a regular guest who comes every year. The rooms are older, but sparkling clean. Comfortable bed, great balcony.

Review 75:No A/C or safe in rooms.

Review 76:Loved everything, having a fridge and microwave in the room was great and everything there made our first trip to Fort Bragg, really darn, awesome. Looking forward to staying there again.

Review 77:The free breakfast was not that fancy, mostly cereal and oatmeal. Eggs for an extra 1$- coffee wasn't that great.

Review 78:The location was awesome with only a short walk to the beach and great restaurants.

Review 79:Day we left sink developed a leak. Told desk and they said they'd address.

Review 80:Great value, location / view of harbor. One of the best in its price range. Would go bk. Very clean.

Review 81:Could not enjoy the patio & view because of the traffic noise.

Review 82:Located close to everything and breakfast super. Staff friendly, helpful and very responsive to requests.

Review 83:Wifi signal was weak and intermittent.

Review 84:Nice view. Yummy breakfast selection: made to order waffles were included in continental; had egg cups and yogurt for a dollar. Great view & easy location. College of the Redwoods disc golf course was less than 5 mins away.

Review 85:Breakfast was kind of cheese, not much at all.

Review 86:The facility is in a great location with access to all that is available in Fort Bragg, a fun local. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable.

Review 87:Number of people of the hotel stuff are not really friendly. Doors, especially around knobs, where noticeably dirty. Poor light in the bathroom. Really bad coffee.

Review 88:Location, comfortable bed.

Review 89:They charged $1 for hot eggs $1 for yogurt $1 for waffles....silly...and not disclosed @ check in.

Review 90:Walking distance to harbor where there were 3 good restaurants. Also the linens and bedding were updated and excellent...I enjoy the triple sheeting for cleanliness !

Review 91:No eggs with breakfast and no meat like sausage or bacon.Counter man said to keep that kid quiet. Our room on top floor and there were 3 kids up there beside our grandson.

Review 92:View we had but all room dont have a very good view.

Review 93:Because it is off the 1, there may be some noise if you are out and having a picnic or are trying to enjoy the nice view outside near the river.

Review 94:Location was good. It's close to the Noyo River. It is in walking distance (only during the day) to a few good restaurants which is down the hill. It is right off the 1.

Review 95:Breakfast is minimalist. Wifi is unreliable.

Review 96:The location is fabulous, access to several state parks and close to Mendocino. Great for hikers and lovers of the relaxed life style in Mendocino. Rooms are large and clean.

Review 97:We had a room with a balcony overlooking the river. We spent as much time watching the boats go in and out, as we did in bed. Our 5 yr old granddaughters first ocean visit. Balcony was 5 yr old proof

Review 98:The staff was inconsistent about what room was available if we wanted to extend our stay; it seemed like they were trying to force us into a room upgrade (which is actually what we wanted) but it felt deceitful.

Review 99:The king suite with river view had a beautiful deep tube, fully stocked kitchen and was a clean, comfortable room.

Review 100:I have to use a CPAP machine and need ac to charge phone, computer & tablet. Needed to unplug things to plug in anything.

Review 101:Location over looking Noyo Harbor. Good restaurants nearby.

Review 102:A bit noisy with highway traffic.

Review 103:Room size, comfort & cleanliness, patio view of the river/fishing harbor and ocean. Bed was incredibly comfortable! Breakfast, especially fresh waffles, very good. But weird that they would charge $1 extra for yogurt. No one bought it.

Review 104:Our room was on the end, 20 yards from a heavily traveled 4-lane bridge. Extremely noisy, from constant traffic crossing the bridge. We should have been notified of the location problems, when reservation was made. No compensation was offered, when speaking to the desk person.

Review 105:The view of the river.

Review 106:We were on the ground floor and there were a lot of people passing by back and forth. We didn't feel safe at times.

Review 107:Best part was the balcony and it's view of the boats coming and going

Review 108:The internet connection is really slow and the bed wasn't the most comfortable, as with most hotels.

Review 109:Love the location and the price is really great!

Review 110:very quiet, comfortable room. loved sitting on balcony with river view, watching life on the river. balcony set back and offers protection from wind and damp. always enjoy this peaceful experience!

Review 111:Staff support and knowledge about area attractions very unfriendly you would of thought I was asking for their pin #

Review 112:Proximity to harbor, view and wood burning stove

Review 113:The brunch was disappointing. After only one breakfast the 14 and 15 year olds in my party would not go back. McKinnleyville's Holiday Inn brunch was far superior and inviting.

Review 114:The cleanliness of the rooms, courtesy of the staff and the setting.

Review 115:Breakfast area got small on the weekends.

Review 116:The studio is almost 500 sq-ft and very comfortable. Great view of Noyo Harbor. The king bed is very nice and the room has better Ikea furnishing.

Review 117:The walls are thin and you can hear the TV on in the next room and every step anyone takes in the room above you. You have to ask for a hair dryer.

Review 118:The room was nice sized.

Review 119:The sound coming from the street, the creaking sounds of the outside walkways

Review 120:The quality of the kitchenware, the bathroom, plenty of towels, the patio, cable channels, beds

Review 121:We didn't want to try out the free breakfast but found it difficult to get in and out. My mother is disabled and it was very crowded in there it was hard to see what they had available and was way too crowded so we left and got breakfast elsewhere

Review 122:The hotel was clean and comfortable Greatview we really enjoyed our stay

Review 123:i didn't ask for ground floor so we got third, but it was my own fault as I didn't know what the place was like overall

Review 124:the staff were friendly. The maid did only what we asked her to do. There was a laundromat, which I utilised.

Review 125:We really didn't like the fact that items we got ''free'',with the continental breakfast, are now for sale,in the breakfast room.If we wanted to ''buy'' breakfast.....we could just go to Denny's,or where ever. There weren't enough ''free'' items, available,to make a satisfactory ''CONTINENTAL'' breakfast. So,next time we stay...we'll go some where, that has what we are looking for,in a continental breakfast.

Review 126:We liked the comfort of the room, and the bed,as well.We appreciated the pretty flowers,in the landscaping.

Review 127:When we booked the visi we were a little surprised at the cost but were assured it included breakfast. Breakfast consisted of toasted buns, rolls, or bagels with boiled eggs, coffee and juice. A representative of the inn made waffles on request. We use to call this a continental breakfast. Somewhat skimpy and lacking to be classed as breakfast. A visit

Review 128:The location, scenery, ambience were great and since we were hosting visitors from Texas, we felt at home and comfortable .

Review 129:There was nothing we did not like. No complaints.

Review 130:The fact of a coffe pot and microwave also if needed a refrigator. Very quiet very enjoyable would come back to Habor Lite Lodge.

Review 131:The room was very clean and well made. Bedding was spotless but the floor was falling in the bathroom (separating from the baseboards by at least a half inch) the toilet was wabbly. Just dated.

Review 132:They have a great location! I've been going to this place for years!! (My family goes every year to fort Bragg) the breakfast is fantastic and the front desk personnel are all very friendly and helpful!

Review 133:Location and breakfast. We had a harbor view room and sat on our deck with our kids and watched the seals playing in the harbor and the hawks soaring high above.

Review 134:Nothing at all bad to say:)

Review 135:The bed was very comfortable and cozy. The view from the back private deck was beautiful. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The free breakfast was very yummy and filling!
