Reviews for Hotel Amarano Burbank

Review 1:We were not informed hotel was being renovated and we were put on the floor they were working on. Construction could have been sectioned off better but it wasn't.

Review 2:Very nice and spacious room.

Review 3:No free coffee in room. It was $2.00/cup for Keurig! Most otherplaces free, esp. Considering cost of stay. Drinks by poolside alsooutrageous, but bar itself ok. Should rethink amenities. Didn't likebeing nickeled & dimed. Charged $32./day parking, but streetparking easily accessible.

Review 4:Pool & spa. Happy hour at the bar was the best bargain by far. Likedswivel on tv so you could watch either from bed or sitting room.Spacious layout. Also nice neighborhood to walk around. Residential andplaces to eat.

Review 5:Being charged for extra coffee pods was a bit on the nose .

Review 6:Everything! Top notch hotel..had it all. The room enormous and very comfortable. Staff wonderful. Cosy little bar. Location plus.

Review 7:The bathroom light switch was gross. The hotel, although they allow pets could be cleaner. Really double beds? Queens are a no brainer. It took almost ten minutes to get hot water, that means we had to run the water in California for 10 wasteful mins. to take a shower. I thought they cared about water. No wonder they don't have any, they waste it.

Review 8:That they allowed pets and the location.

Review 9:There was no parking unless you paid an extra $38 a night. The toilet didn't work and the shower took abou 10 minutes to warm up.

Review 10:The staff was really great.

Review 11:- Not enough clean, white towels. - Not enough Parking area and the Hotel Parking was to expensive for Guest Parking! - Wish there were Queens beds instead of Double Beds.

Review 12:Professional and Friendly Staff - From Tom, Michael, Kevin to Diana who worked in the bar. Love the Pool area, the location of the hotel and the Happy Hour Appetizer prices! Rooms were nice.

Review 13:parking there sucks you had to pay $38 extra a day for parking, also the two guys on front office had horrible customer service. They were even sarcastic at one point, very unprofessional.

Review 14:the pool was very clean and the hotel was nice

Review 15:I was a little disappointed about the parking. To park in the underneath parking its $35.00 per day. I felt that it seemed unnecessary to charge guests a fee to park. In my opinion this was a disappointment.

Review 16:Great rooms. Nice Hotel well maintained with a little bit of everything for everyone. Decent work out facility with treadmills and other equipment. Decent staff. Nice pool and hot tub. I felt very comfortable in this hotel and the location is pretty decent as well. Within walking distance of Portos...a recommended restaurant if in the area.

Review 17:Pool and Spa aren't open past 10:00...should be open until 11:00. Nice courtyard though

Review 18:The atmosphere is wonderful. It's close to the major studios without being in the heart of Hollywood. Very close to Burbank airport which works for us!

Review 19:The rooms are clean, quiet and the bed extremely comfortable. They always try to please and go the extra mile to assist you in finding locations, routes and things to do.

Review 20:They didn't make me feel welcome and they randomly charge you. I wasnever told about a parking fee and other fees included

Review 21:I didn't really have anything positive to say about this place

Review 22:Very nice hotel. In a quiet neighborhood. Staff was very considerate & very helpful. Not far from LA, if that's what you want. Close to some excellent dining choices.

Review 23:Humdrum noise of airconditoner. Some unfriendly staff.

Review 24:Big rooms ,walk opposite bea's for a great breakfast , quiter location. Free schuttle to airport and if no schuttle hotel pays cab fare. Great amendmities in bathroom.

Review 25:The staff were fantastic, professional and loads of help with transport and how to get around LA. We were delighted with the reception service they were really lovely and helpful

Review 26:As you have a kitchenette, why was there only 1 fork - yet this is a family room for 4? Also, when eathing, where were supposed to sit - there was no table or chairs for 4 people? Instead, we had to improvise. Do we need this hastle??

Review 27:Outrageous valet parking fees! Otherwise, we had to park on the street and search the neighborhood for a parking spot.

Review 28:Good location, nice room, quiet

Review 29:The double beds in our rooms were very small by American standards. Also, it's $33 plus tax for valet with no self parking - really? Finally, we had very noisy neighbours for two nights and the Hotel failed to deal with that properly. Staff were ok but not overly friendly and very unsympathetic about our noisy neighbours on check out

Review 30:The pool and location

Review 31:Loved the quiet retreat after a long day at Universal Studios. Friendly staff that went out of their way to make sure our family was comfortable. This was a nice alternative to the big overcrowded hotels! Comfortable beds, lovely pool, and super close to universal studios with a free shuttle!!

Review 32:Rooms didn't have much of a view, there is an adjoining building which is very up close. Rooms should offer some basics like bottled water, coffee/ tea and snacks that are 'on the house'. It gives a good feeling as a guest.

Review 33:Location Staff Cleanliness

Review 34:This hotel was ranked 4 stars....no way!! Toilet didn't flush right, DVD player didn't work, light bulb out in room, no bedding for pull-out couch. Parking was $37.00 per day!! We moved to another hotel after first night.

Review 35:Our recent stay at Hotel Amarano was one of the best accomodations I've experienced in many years of business travel. Fortunately, we were able to combine business and pleasure on this trip and it was a wonderful experience. The registration process was easy and the staff was tip-top and customer focused. Harvey the bartender was our favorite! Even the guests were awesome! Great experience! We will definitely be returning! Thank you Hotel Amarano! Jessi King

Review 36:The lack of affordable dining at the hotel. The dining room is small and very expensive. During our 3-day stay, we never saw a single person eating there. I suggest converting the space into more casual grab-and-go options, which would be especially convenient for breakfast and lunch.

Review 37:We were impressed with the friendliness of the staff who seemed to go out of their way to meet our needs. The hotel is a real "find" and so much better than the other options in Burbank.

Review 38:We booked and paid for a room to take 5 people - 2 adults and 3 children. On arrival were told that it was Booking's fault that we only a had a room with 2 double beds and as no other rooms were available one the children had to sleep on the floor.

Review 39:Location was good. Hotel is close to Universal Studios and a shuttle is provided. As we were a party of 5 a taxi was provided to accommodate all of us. Hotel is in walking distance of Warner Bros.

Review 40:shampoo etc pumps in shower were terrible - such a small thing but so annoying valet parking wasn't always there/on the ball

Review 41:convenient location to studios well kept grounds, great cleaning staff well-laid out and furnished rooms - very casual but elegant and comfortable great shower!

Review 42:No comment, I was satisfied.

Review 43:I liked the staff, anyone of them answered my questions, helped me out with directions, area has everything I needed, easy access to resturants, grocery store in which I really needed due to forgetting my hairspray.

Review 44:Customer service by valet, front desk and general staff was non existent. Our view was of a demolished building outside.

Review 45:Harvey, the bartender was amazing, friendly, funny and his customer service and warmth made up for the terrible service we got from everyone else. If we come back it would be to see him, only.

Review 46:Small, clean and intimate. I feel like I'm at home.

Review 47:The shower was terrible, complained about the showerhead and water flow. Was not fixed.

Review 48:The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable.

Review 49:The air conditioning in the room did not work as well as it should. There was an overhead fan so it was bearable.

Review 50:Great hotel and staff!

Review 51:Bathrooms need upgrade

Review 52:Location

Review 53:Parking

Review 54:Front desk was amazing so kind and attentive.

Review 55:missing bottle opener

Review 56:Bed, mini bar, proximity to Universal Studios.

Review 57:Too expensive

Review 58:valet only parking...$34 a bit high!

Review 59:Excellent location and pleasant environment

Review 60:Everything was wonderful. Valet parking is PRICEY! Overall wonderful place!

Review 61:The staff at the front desk werent very polite

Review 62:If no other parking is available the hotel should not charge for valet parking.

Review 63:The bed was amazing!

Review 64:Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean accommodations

Review 65:Overnight parking fee.

Review 66:Design is very nice

Review 67:Parking is unreasonably expensive.

Review 68:Clean room, friendly staff, quiet area. Good value.

Review 69:Nothing really

Review 70:I loved the ambiance and style. The room was large and very comfortable. Loved the bell staff and doormen!

Review 71:Price of valet service.

Review 72:Staff

Review 73:I loved the design and posh feel of the hotel .. The layout in the bathroom fabulous

Review 74:service excellent nice ambiance big updated room

Review 75:The valet service very disorganized. They were abrupt. The remaining hotel staff excellent and professional.

Review 76:The location and comfortable room.

Review 77:Felt safe walking around area. Very helpful and friendly staff Only down side the bill was more than original quote

Review 78:Nothing, we can't fault it at all

Review 79:Private Jaccuzi, polite staff, clean rooms, size of apartment, everything.

Review 80:food, taxi service

Review 81:pool

Review 82:Absolutely nothing. A minor point which in no way detracts from the hotel or service is it would be nice to have a room which includes a kids bedroom area or even a partition for some privacy. Other than that cannot fault the hotel will stay there again.

Review 83:What was not to like about the "Hotel Amarano", absolutely nothing. I highly recommend this hotel, every little detail is catered for & very reasonably priced in an excellent location. Treat yourself & stay there, you can't afford not to.

Review 84:set up of room. Charging for coffee in the room Surprise charge for parking. Really?? $33.00 per night in Burbank? Then having to tip the attendant, which they deserved regardless of the foolish upcharge for the parking. Next time I will park in the grocery store lot across the street and save the money.

Review 85:Location, service and people

Review 86:We did not have any dislikes.

Review 87:Michael Rose the Front Desk Manager was very helpful and upgraded our room for my wife's birthday. All staff were friendly and Harvey the bartender was incredible. We had a great time and will be back.

Review 88:I just wrote in the wrong column. Staff were excellent.

Review 89:Room was lovely. Staff were attentive and friendly. Only problem was the dine in service. My expensive lamb was almost completely raw. Inedible. I like rare meat but this was just not cooked at all. Either chef inexperienced or the kitchen staff need to care more. It was not cheap so expected a lot more.

Review 90:USD 32 + tax parking fee is really amazing.......

Review 91:Room is very clean and staff full sence of humor, very helpful. There's a Von supermarket provides high standard products and plenty of parking spaces.

Review 92:our room number 427 was extremely NOISY, especially at night when trying to sleep. We got noise from the outside bar and also a really loud fan on the roof above the bedroom; the A/C and heat controls were very difficult to set and maintain a comfortable temp. We were constantly adjusting them, even during the night!

Review 93:the pool, the lobby area and bar, the size of the hotel (not a giant, endless hallway to traverse), room service, close to freeways, Universal, the Metro.

Review 94:Location is out of the center but that is what we looked for...

Review 95:The hotel is very nice with nice and clean rooms. The location was ok for our needs as we wanted to be out of the center and closer to the universal studios. It is close to the highway and to the studios. We enjoyed the stay at Amarano very much.

Review 96:They didn't respect my reservation my husband slips on the floor two beds for 5 I'll never go back again they give me a hard time at check-in the shower was dirty it was a very bad 2 nights

Review 97:Nothing

Review 98:The stuffed mushrooms on the room service menu. Yikes-

Review 99:Clean,quiet and comfortable room. Good location- starbucks and drugstoreacross the street. Attentive staff

Review 100:Didn't offer AAA discount until I asked & wouldn't change bill. Manager said would try to upgrade & didn't or contact us at all. Didn't offer free parking on streets, but we read reviews and knew this was an option.

Review 101:Staff very friendly, esp, bar. Valet parking $33 but we parked on side street right outside our room & was fine. Loved that they had coffee maker in room & mini fridge. BeaBea great for breakfast across street & Vons there, also. French Bistro in that same mall a great place to eat. Perfect location if touring Warner Bros. Studio. Right off freeway & close to Burbank airport. Would stay here again.

Review 102:There was an incident that I'm not going to go into fully in casethe individuals involved were just having a bad day... And I'll sayagain that the vast majority of the staff were very pleasant andkind... But just based on the (verbal) aggression and confrontationalmanner of this one incident (and a higher ups' response) I'mgoing to have to go ahead and say that this hotel's customerservice policies are very poor. As a woman traveling alone I found theincident pretty unnerving, and there was no response whatsoever to mycomplaint about it.The rest I'm going to say is going to make it sound like I'm just angry about the first incident and taking it out on everything else about the hotel. For what it’s worth, this was my honest experience. Perhaps I caught *everything* at this hotel on an 'off' day;)Hotel furnishings/decorations – aged but charming for the most part (lobby is modern and very pretty).Hotel building/infrastructure – old building with a lot of heating/plumbing issues. For example the thermostat rarely went above 70F regardless of what I set it at. The walls aren’t terribly thin but you can definitely hear the details neighboring conversations from pretty much anywhere in the room if you bother to pay attention.Food – frozen food quality or worse (I *like* some frozen food!), despite the fancy names and gourmet prices. The Caesar salad is okay if you have to eat something there.Overall service – mediocre. Although most of the staff are pleasant and kind and do their jobs well (minus the specific individuals I mentioned earlier), the policies are not consistent with a luxury hotel or even a nice high-end mega-chain. Nobody helps you take your bags to your room or shows you where it is, and if a problem arises you’re pretty much on your own; it’s not like the Ritz (or any other real luxury hotel) where they’ll stop what they’re doing and try to see if they can help you in some way.

Review 103:The majority of the hotel staff were pleasant and kind. The decorationsof the reception area were very pretty.

Review 104:Staff could have been more friendly and not very helpful with questions. We asked to use the free shuttle service which is for a radius of 3 miles. They told me where we wanted to go was over seven miles when I checked it was only 3.1 miles. I had to ask the valet staff for assistance with luggage on arrival. This should have been offered. Not all staff greeted you. The pay per view movies were expensive. These negative points are only to help better a good hotel and service we enjoyed the stay and would stay again

Review 105:Pool was excellent Gym facilities great Rooms were of good standard Room service was good and fast service. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Room had good facilities ie coffee make, iron, microwave, DVD player

Review 106:male bartender at night quite rude very noisy in rooms 106 & 105 until late at night due to party in bar. shuttle bus unreliable in terms of getting back to us by phone & letting us know if they still had us on pick-up list

Review 107:front desk staff restaurant waiter housekeeping valet lovely bar area rooms very nice with green amenities

Review 108:I didn't like that the pool area closed at 10pm. I wish they haddesignated free parking instead of just parking on the street in theneighborhood behind it. However, I do like that they tell you about thatoption and assure you it is a safe neighborhood.

Review 109:I liked how the staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the hotelroom, the sheets and bedding were so comfortable. It was located within10 min of where I needed to be. It has a grocery store across the streetand quite a few delicious eateries nearby. I loved how you could open adoor/window and have a fresh breeze. Overall I loved this hotel andwould probably come back again. I have already referred a few familymembers and friends there!!

Review 110:The pull out couch bed was uncomfortable. Parking was expensive. $32 pernight. I did encounter a problem when booking this hotel. I called thehotel direct first and the girl said that the suites were sold out forNov. 1St. Immediately upon hanging up the phone I called booking.com andthey made a reservation for me and were able to get me the one bedroomsuite for the 1st. I had no problems checking in. I would usebooking.com in the future.

Review 111:We stay there every year for a golf tournament in September. I took mykids to Universal Horror nights Oct. 31St 2013. This is the only hotelin the area that has one bedroom suites so I booked it. I like thelocation, the large one bedroom suite, and all the staff. Front desk, maids and especially the valet guys. Excellent service. The hotel isright across the street from Vons, Original Bob's big boy and abreakfast place called Patys.

Review 112:Your shuttle offers were mainly paying lip service to guests.

Review 113:Contemporary interior design. Lovely, healthy meal choices. Helpful and friendly valet staff.

Review 114:The resptionist gay at night Was not friendly also the valed gay he said fa you behind my backand the staff of that hotel have to learn the way of respecting people Really iam shucked

Review 115:Non

Review 116:What I didn't like about the hotel was based on my last visit. There was a big spider in the bathtub. This was probably because we were on the first floor and it crawled in from the patio. Later that day, I noticed a bed bug on my pillow. After that, I noticed a moth on the curtain. The front desk sent housekeeping and they changed the sheets however, I still felt awkward.

Review 117:I like the location and the decor of the hotel. It is modern, comfortable and a hidden gem.

Review 118:Didn't like that room service was persistent on wanting to vacuum the room .. I couldn't be comfortable in my own room with feeling nervous on someone walking in .. This person knock and open the door while me and my partner were in the shower...

Review 119:I like the set up , very nice.

Review 120:Food from room service. Terribly expensive and mediocre for price. Rooms could be cleaner. No self parking. Valet parking ridiculously priced. Street noise. Coffee provided in room but only enough for one cup per person. Very little vanity space in bathroom.

Review 121:Location to Warner Brothers Studio and Burbank Airport. Shuttle service was good and timely, but limited to a very small area around hotel. I would only recommend this hotel if you are going to one of the studios for a show or tour.

Review 122:light switch was broken, under the bed was not vacuumed well; the bathroom lighting was dim and the shower not powerful.

Review 123:the outward appearance was luxurious, safe neighborhood. pool staff courteous.

Review 124:Parking cost is 30$ per day, too expensive! Without a reason

Review 125:Great place to stay while visiting Universal studio. Near by supermarket, great for kids needs

Review 126:The duvet kept slipping off the bed. The ice machine wasn't working near our room. There was supposed to have been a microwave in room.

Review 127:The Library, pool, room design and staff.

Review 128:That I had to leave

Review 129:The room was fantastic, very comfortable, the staff was very friendlyand helpful. It was great to be across from a very delish breakfastplace BeaBea'S.

Review 130:Valet parking is mandatory. Parking fee is expensive. Would be nice if they extended pool hours past 10pm for late night jacuzzi use. Also, the pool could use more shaded areas other than overpriced cabana. Every guest I spoke to said it would nice to be able to use umbrella for the day instead.

Review 131:Nice pool and jacuzzi. Rooms were large with nice appliances, fixtures, etc. Provided robes. Staff was helpful.

Review 132:Changed rooms 3 times one day because of air conditioner not working. Were given a one person room in exchange when we were two. changed rooms again. wasted one half day. Supplies insufficient. Had to request toilet paper and tissues.

Review 133:Lovely boutique hotel. Warm, relaxing lounge. Dinner was good. Rooms were clean.
