Reviews for The Hotel Lancaster

Review 1:We requested early check in and were told no rooms were ready yet. I find that has to believe that at 1pm 2 rooms were my ready when there were only about 10 guests in the entire hotel. I found the night staff to be more intune with their customer needs then the day staff.

Review 2:Great location to the town. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Night staff were great, recommended a great Resturant and gave us coupons to go.

Review 3:Police station is located in the next block and first night there was alot of sirens. Quieter the 2nd night. Sheets had a strong bleach smell and I asked that sheets not be changed the following night as the odor had faded

Review 4:Clean property and satisfying complimentary breakfast which included eggs and fresh fruit

Review 5:Convenience to hospital and other places The owner also, was very nice to take care of parking for us, because of a "character" who we encountered 2 times in the lobby and on the elevator....who was not a guest of the hotel..

Review 6:Thought the breakfast could have been a lot better. Other hotels offer waffles, bacon, eggs, etc. on their continental breakfast:(

Review 7:Cleanliness of our room and location of hotel

Review 8:The water pressure was poor, The complimentary breakfast was stale muffins. Half of the tv channels were just dead air, and the Bathroom was poorly lit.

Review 9:Staff was very friendly and efficient. Bed was comfortable and hotel room was clean.

Review 10:There was a mildew smell in the room. When I went in the bathroom I noticed a long blonde hair in the sink.I happened to be Africa American by the way.

Review 11:It had a bed.

Review 12:There are no complaints. The staff went ALL out to make sure that we got the type of room that we wanted.

Review 13:Great hospitality. Genuine and sincere. Truly cared that we were satisfied.

Review 14:The bed skirt had was torn. No refrigerator.

Review 15:The room was very clean and I'm the heart of the city. With in walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Free parking!

Review 16:The walls are very poorly insulated, I could easily hear the people in the next room even though they weren't being overly loud. Also the wifi was garbage. I had a really hard time getting any work done because the connection was so slow.

Review 17:The staff was very friendly and professional. Not a bad value for the price.

Review 18:Price of stay with no amenities: No restaurant or bar on premises - no pool or hot tub. continental breakfast was just okay.

Review 19:Nice room and excellent staff. Ramp parking right outside the hotel entrance. Convenient downtown location. Did I mention the great staff? ( Vince was awesome - polite, helpful, funny..... )

Review 20:AC cut on and off which was annoying noise wise, but temp was good. Advertised room rate was $150 but charged me $199 for Friday which I didn't expect.

Review 21:Nice granite countertops bed very comfortable. Very happy with the room.

Review 22:Only thing would be wifi was difficult to connect to, view of room was of cracked rooftop

Review 23:Staff was incredibly helpful, loved the location and surrounding establishments

Review 24:Pillows a bit too soft Shower not very strong Parking $10/day

Review 25:Fully renovated lobby and rooms, everything's clean and new Decent free continental breakfast and all day coffee and tea in the lobby Central location, walk everywhere Reasonable rates

Review 26:Manger correcting an employee in front of staff employee. Breakfast was not a breakfast. Only one type of cereal this place is not ment to have kids stay the night.

Review 27:The room was cleaned and comfy staff was very nice.

Review 28:The room was not properly maintained. Breakfast was less than appealing.

Review 29:Good location for us to visit the Fulton Theatre. The people at the front desk were very helpful and welcoming.

Review 30:The room was quite noisy from the street and the hotel.

Review 31:Very convenient to all downtown attractions, and easy to navigate in and out of the city to nearby cities.

Review 32:1. The bathroom was dirty. 2. Male clerk at front desk was condescending, and when we asked for directions to a restaurant (walking) he sent us in the opposite direction. 3. Breakfast buffet was cold and limited; hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt and toast. No breakfast meats. No fruit. 4. Ugly view our our window of a back parking lot and Hvac system.

Review 33:My fault for parking across the street from hotel. Validating parking garage is attached to the hotel. Realized it after the 3rd day.

Review 34:Located 3 blocks from the convention center. Felt safe walking back to the hotel at 10pm. Police presence and sidewalk cafes were still open.

Review 35:The pillows were very uncomfortable. Too mushy! Due to health issues could use firm support. And maybe a little more protein for breakfast? (Another health issue on my part)

Review 36:Friendliness of the staff, location to Convention Center and cleanliness of hotel. The comfort of the mattress was phenomenal!

Review 37:Only had wifi in lobby, so when wanted to contact our children had to come down. Unfortunately to talk to them before they go to school would have to do this in middle of night because of time difference at home.

Review 38:Some other guests were in the hallway in middle of the night and were talking very loudly. It woke us up as they sounded like they were in the room. Walls too thin?

Review 39:The people at the desk were incredibly helpful and gave us great tips for sight seeing. The room was very nice.

Review 40:The breakfast was awful. Only hot food you could have was toast youd make yourself. Plus there is apparently a "two person per room" policy despite the fact that i had selected a double queen size room so ended up paying an extra $20 per room. The wifi was also very spotty and the walls are thin so its noisy, AND the elevators were barely functional.

Review 41:The location if the hotel is perfect, and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and willing to help if we had issues of some sort.

Review 42:Lower floors can be noisy and noise from the hallway is more than you would expect from an older building

Review 43:Great location downtown, walk to the Central Market, many excellent places to eat and go out for a drink

Review 44:No place to store luggage if you check in early but the parking garage is right next door so it can stay in your car if you drove.

Review 45:Downtown and within walking distance of the Lancaster Convention Center

Review 46:Nice hotel for that price; clean, comfortable bed, larger size room and friendly stuff, but we could not sleep well because of the elevator noise. Also, Wifi was too slow. I recommend otherwise.

Review 47:The WIFI was too slow... not sure if it was because we lived on high floor.

Review 48:We stayed there for one night. Friend staff, free breakfast, the room was warm and clean. Location is good, too, close to museums and bus station.

Review 49:The noise level from the bars - we were on the 9th floor and could hear people yelling. For being a newly renovated building, was slightly disappointed that the TV and alarm clock looked like they were from 1984.

Review 50:Loved the area of town this was in! Super nice and lovely brownstones. Easy to find and plenty of parking garages. The gentleman that checked us in was really nice. The lobby was beautiful.

Review 51:No where was $15 parking garage mentioned. Breakfast was a joke. A few love of bread next a toaster, coffee cake, & muffins. Sad free breakfast.

Review 52:I did not like that fact that we had to pay for parking. I could have stayed a any other hotel around town and parked for free. It seems to me that you should valid parking for your customers or work something out with the people that own the parking deck next door. Even in large cities I have never paid for parking in a downtown hotel.

Review 53:Nothing to do with the hotel whatsoever, but parking is a commodity. City owned garages @ 15 - 18$ per day.. Once there though, you can pretty much walk the entire city sites.

Review 54:Wife and I spent two nights this month ( Nov 2014 ) and found that this place is a very clean place to stay. Staff was always cheerful and ready to assist in any way possible. I really like the location, being down town Lancaster. Very upbeat atmosphere, lots of art studios, small shops and coffee shops. The " natives " are very friendly there.

Review 55:The lobby was very cold and uninviting. The professional pictures for the hotel depicted a more modern room with flat screen TVs. TV in our room was an old 19 inch TV from the 90's maybe. The remote did not work properly. No hotel guide in the room. Some of the amenities were written on the little key card envelope. No indication if there were ice machines and where they were. The French door handle to my room had to be pushed up and not down to enter the room. I was wondering if because of booking through a discount hotel service we were given the low grade room.

Review 56:The location was convenient and within walking distance to eateries and shops. The hotel did not have it's own parking garage but the municipal garage was adjacent to the hotel.

Review 57:being right in front of the elevator was distracting. Could always hear it moving.Could hear lots of noise , music, people laughing, yelling into the morning hours.

Review 58:It was a nice clean hotel, staff was good

Review 59:Paying $15 to park in the adjacent parking garage there is no on-site parking

Review 60:Staff was courteous and helpful The hotel is within walking distance to shops, the local farmers market and restaurants. No need to drive.

Review 61:Nothing, really. It was quite average, but just fine. Nothing exciting.

Review 62:This hotel offers a great, central location to downtown Lancaster and a good choice if that is of importance.

Review 63:My room was in front of elevator so we heard it all night long. Bathroom was not very clean. and there is no parking. you have to pay separately for parking garage.

Review 64:I liked comfortable bed

Review 65:The Hotel doesn't have free parking. The parking garage is right next door conveniently located, but you have to add the overnight parking to your hotel expense. For us it was $15. Other than that it was great.

Review 66:Perfect location for the downtown historical places and Central Market--a must! For the age of the building I expected it to look good, but be musty. Not at all. Everything was new and nicely decorated and no musty/moldy smell at all. We slept great and enjoyed our Continental breakfast the next morning. They get their bread and granola from a local Baker and it was AMAZING!

Review 67:Wifi not working in room, Noisy A/C, could not sleep with it on, made the room very stuffy and hot at night

Review 68:Location, Friendly staff and value of money in downtown Lancaster

Review 69:I didn't know that half the hotel was closed for renovations, including the pool when booking online. Also, the hotel should partner with the adjacent parking garage to allow for free parking. Come on, really, over a $100+ a night for a room and then you have to pay every time you want to drive to sight see. Poor management of resources there.

Review 70:The renovations done to the hotel so far are nice, it looks nice and elegant. However, they didn't do a complete job on the renovation. The should have replaced the windows in the room. The don't block the exterior sounds very well, sounded like our windows were open when they weren't.

Review 71:Windows old could hear the bar across the street all night. Bed saggy in middle. Old style tv. Could have been cleaner found curly hairs on shower walls. Lighting in room was too dark to do any work in the room. Also no work desk. Tiny frig. Remote wouldn't turn the tv off. Oversized overnight Parking was not easy on bar nights.

Review 72:Nothing

Review 73:Everything! Tom and Jason at the front desk were so nice, friendly and helpful. We would definately return to, as well as recommend this hotel. Thanks Tom!

Review 74:Staff unable to keep the wedding party group under control. We were on the 9th floor and could hear everything outside..need new windows. The breakfast food was not that good no real selection and the bread was not fresh.

Review 75:The Price was good

Review 76:Minor things. Loud AC, was bothering me at night. One elevator was broken, another one always took a while.

Review 77:Pretty much everything was great, starting with location, rooms are big, clean, staff is great. Loved it.

Review 78:The sheets were not changed from previous stay. Cheap window drapes, need to modernize TV. Needs new carpeting and furniture. Needs more TV choices like premium channels and PPV options.

Review 79:Location.

Review 80:No validation for parking. Housekeeper entered room while we were still sleeping at nine am. Drapes didn't close all the way. Room could be viewed from building across the way.

Review 81:Nothing in particular.

Review 82:It is accessible, right in the middle of downtown. The staff are friendly, the place is clean, and the price doesn't take a huge bite out of your wallet.

Review 83:Did not get room we paid for (single queen). Location mediocre, recommendation by desk for dinner poor (sports pub), nothing else offered. Window was leaking on to AC unit - called desk and they said "should be ok, keep an eye on it"......

Review 84:Lancaster was relatively inexpensive, convenient for our travel plans.

Review 85:Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. There were mouse traps and the room look outdated. I have been to many hotels worldwide and this was more like a motel. Never again!

Review 86:Location

Review 87:No hotel parking. Must park on street or municipal lot ( added $15/night)

Review 88:Close to shops and restaurants. Easy access to Amish country yet in city env.

Review 89:Didn't like being right in the city was a lot of noise. Also room was near elevator kept hearing the humming sound from that. Hard to sleep.

Review 90:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel clean and a good price for room.

Review 91:No room service. Breakfast was eh.

Review 104:Access to downtown Lancaster.

Review 105:Limited channels on the TV.

Review 106:Everything. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable.

Review 107:Breakfast was too light

Review 108:Had to pay $10 for parking in an adjacent structure. It wasn't highly convenient.

Review 116:Room listed on Booking.com has fridge. Room did not have one.

Review 117:breakfast was lacking considering cost of room.

Review 118:Staff was excellent, room was clean and location was ideal.

Review 119:Location, comfort

Review 120:Staff Washington not friendly at all

Review 121:The beakfast sucked

Review 122:All was good no problems

Review 123:Older windows need to be replaced to improve sound insulation

Review 124:Location, friendly staff

Review 125:Was within walking distance to downtown Lancaster, in a good area. Close to restaurants. Pillows very comfortable.

Review 126:Would have liked a workout room and the breakfast was very minimal and the same everyday.

Review 127:The rooms were nice and the staff really friendly.

Review 128:I would have liked a Fitness Center but I survived.

Review 129:A Five Star Hotel at a bargain price.

Review 130:Bed was very uncomfortable. Water from air conditioning leaking in room.

Review 131:I didn't think there was much hospitality.

Review 132:Nothing much
