Reviews for Calderwood Inn

Review 1:The room we were in was a bit cold, and small. Ceiling was difficult for us as we are tall people and there was a significant slant that required us to bend down each time we crossed the room - which was frequently to get to our things and the other side of the bed.

Review 2:All staff we dealt with were very nice, responsive, and very accommodating.

Review 3:The manager never introduced himself. It was freezing in our room (60F). We were left to fend for ourselves during the 5:00 Wine and cheese get together. No one ever showed up the entire stay (two nights) except to make breakfast, which was bad one day and good the next. For the price we paid, I was very disappointed.

Review 4:The Inn is in a beautiful setting, well kept up. The lawn was beautifully manicured. The Inn was tastefully decorated for Christmas. It was also close to the downtown area which was very convenient.

Review 5:It would have been nice to have a stand up shower in our room. However, the bathtub we had was huge and taking a bath as opposed to a shower did not negatively impact my stay.

Review 6:The Inn and our room was cozy and sweet. Very comfortable. I most enjoyed having "happy wine hour" with the other guests. As it is a smaller place we had the opportunity to meet other guests during happy hour and they were all terrific people from all over the world. And the included breakfast was great!

Review 7:What a quaint, terrific place to stay. The home is gorgeous, the breakfasts delicious. The front porch is lovely, a perfect place to have a glass of wine or just relax.

Review 8:The traffic noise in the morning, especially from trucks, But my room faced the street. Not a big deal.

Review 9:Great staff, excellent breakfast. Close to downtown. The front porch is awesome and I think I spent about two hours there one morning.

Review 10:Food was very good. The staff was welcoming, efficient and helpful. The home is beautifully restored to enhance architectural features. The deep front porch is perfect for relaxing or conversation. I highly recommend this B & B.

Review 11:Over priced Breakfast on Sunday was very disappointing. It was the cooks day off and you could tell, I am vegetarian (the kitchen had been told) and I was given bacon as was another guest. Didn't feel like it was worth the cost at all.

Review 12:location and ambience

Review 13:My husband and I celebrated our 16th anniversary at The Calderwood and had a fabulous time. Laurie was just amazing. She asked us if we had any dietary restrictions and made two breakfasts that were perfect for my husband and incredibly delicious. The Inn is very beautiful, especially the silk wallpaper from the 1930's. I've never seen wallpaper with such vivid, intricate patterns. They have also added king sized beds into every room but the website doesn't tell you that, so keep it in mind when booking. The bed was very comfortable and our room was quiet and charming. (Soda Rock) My only critique would be that the wifi was non existent in our room, but we didn't mind much, as we were taking a bit of a digital holiday anyway. We ended up joining a wine club affiliated with the Inn and now look forward to going back again in the fall and getting a 20% discount on our next room!

Review 14:Beautiful house and furnishings in a great location.Lori is a gem and she prepared wonderful meals for us. Great central location to restaurants and wineries.

Review 15:The Inn felt like Home! Gorgeous authentic furniture to suit period of home. Delicious breakfasts....wonderful hosts! The ceilings were decorated as a piece of art!

Review 16:There was not a thing to dislike.

Review 17:Laurie, owner/innkeeper/gourmet chef/et al made our stay better in every way. From gracious accommodations to really good suggestions for restaurants to places to visit to perfect directions to reach our destinations. Made us feel at home. The house & grounds are beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer but take away memories that will be with us for a long time. Hope to return in the future.

Review 18:An amazing experience and relaxing trip. Patrick is the most excellent/knowledgable host and concierge. A home from home in every possible way. This was one of the most memorable breaks for both myself and my Fiance who absolutely loved the warm welcome we received from Laurie and the 5 Star breakfast that was served with the other friendly guests. We can't wait to visit again....

Review 19:Our room was the Vineyard room and did not seem to be as well appointed as some of the other rooms. It was also below the main floor, giving it a 'basement' like feel. Course knowledge now. When we come back, we'll ask for a different room.

Review 20:The B&B is totally about the host and Mary & company were awesome. Fabulous cooks!! She went out of her way to provide for us. We were able to see the other room on the main floor. It looked stunning, inviting bed, classic claw foot tub in the bathroom.

Review 21:We will definitely be back! This was our first B and B experience and it could not have been better. The ambiance, the comfort, and the beautiful house and grounds made our stay exceptional. We can't wait to come back!

Review 22:The bed and pillows in Jaxon Keys were a little soft.

Review 23:Loved everything about our stay! The room was great. Mary, the manager, was super friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Wish our stay was much longer. We will be back!

Review 24:Didn't have wine second evening. No Wifi in room and second day water was barely warm and at times cold

Review 25:Nothing.

Review 26:The grounds and hotel were beautiful. We were treated like royalty from check in, to the amazing breakfast.

Review 27:Manager Laurie was wonderful! Food was delicious.

Review 28:Laurie, the Innkeeper was fantastic. All of her restaurant and winery recommendations were spot on.

Review 29:Just the shower... A bit small and dark.

Review 30:Loved downtown Healdsburg. laurie and the staff were so attentive and made our stay amazing

Review 31:We could walk to center of town but were removed from any noise. Beautiful covered porch and garden to relax in.

Review 32:Not vegetarian friendly, while all others had a very nice breakfast, they just gave My wife plain eggs, very disappointing

Review 33:Everything about it was perfect - from the relaxed atmosphere to the comfortable room and outstanding breakfasts.

Review 34:First rate hospitality of Laurie and friendly staff. Excellent thoughtfully and artfully prepared breakfasts.

Review 35:Our hostess Laurie made us feel so comfortable. The breakfast is over the top gourmet. The beds were very comfy with down comforters.

Review 36:We loved the breakfast every day. It was very beautiful and delicious. The staff was also very pleasant and helpful.

Review 37:Room needed a few repairs Breakfast at nine - a little late

Review 38:Proximity to town and restaurants Breakfast Proximity to wineries Friendly staff

Review 39:The shower and ceiling fan did not work

Review 40:Friendly staff, good location for walking to town, clean, quiet

Review 41:Inconsistent room temperatureq. Wish beds were king size.

Review 42:Charm, breakfast, location, staff.

Review 43:Only queen beds

Review 44:Front porch

Review 45:Fabulous place to stay in charming Healdsburg. Great staff, amazing breakfasts, relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Loved our room with private porch. Beautiful setting and gardens. Just a short walk to the town centre for excellent dining, shopping and outdoor concerts. Loved it!

Review 46:The bedrooms are close to needing a facelift, with new wallpaper and some touch-up of the trim paint. TV's are a bit dated, and probably not necessary as most folks were streaming on their personal devices. And it would be nice to have a slightly earlier breakfast.

Review 47:The staff was excellent, great communication, and helpful. Breakfasts were tasty and ample. Common areas were great and inviting. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. And the best part was the location; close enough to the town center to make it possible to walk most places.

Review 48:A little cold in the mornings. Nothing that a hot shower and a great hot breakfast would not cure.

Review 49:Beautiful B&B, loved our room. Staff was wonderful, great breakfasts, within walking distance to main street.

Review 50:I had the room under the kitchen heard them walking around starting at 7:15 am - no way you could sleep in.

Review 51:Staff was incredibly helpful with recommendations- what to do, where to eat, would arrange any service for you

Review 52:A pool or hot tub would be nice but as is, it is a lovely property.

Review 53:Everything! The property is immaculate, historic, beautifully furnished with antiques...felt like I was living in a period novel for a few days! Staff could not have been nicer. The food and wine great and greatly appreciated.

Review 54:The staff was so friendly and breakfast was amazing each morning. The atmosphere was really cozy. It was also a very short walk in to town which made it easy to access the restaurants, shops, and winery tasting rooms! Would definitely stay here again!

Review 55:Air conditioning was not adequate and room was hot in the early evening.

Review 56:Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Breakfast was fabulous. Afternoon wine hour were great.

Review 57:I did not like the separate bathroom out side the room and the 9 am prompt breakfast with all the guests.

Review 58:I liked the Victorian house with all its antiques, the grounds were beautiful and the sitting porch. The location was good.

Review 59:The house was a gem from times past but at the same time very clean and fitted with modern day amenities. The rooms and communal areas were incredibly charming, decorated with antiques but my favourite spot was the porch overlooking part of the gardens and a quiet street. Mary and Kendra were absolutely lovely and made the best breakfasts to kick start your day. The overall atmosphere was very relaxed and nice and it was a pleasure staying there whether you're looking for privacy or to exhange a word or two with other guests at the porch over wine. Also, it's only a 10 minute pleasant walk from the central town square of Healdsburg.

Review 60:room, décor, staff, food, location, made us feel comfortable + had a fab time

Review 61:Gorgeous house, beautiful gardens, close to downtown great restaurants (especially important after an evening of wine tasting)

Review 62:That the bathroom was outside our bedroom. If we return. I would make sure that we had a different room.

Review 63:Lovely surroundings. Very relaxing

Review 64:The staff was willing to do whatever they could to make our stay with them comfortable.

Review 65:The staff was friendly, the breakfasts were great and it was walking distance to downtown. We had a great stay.

Review 66:Classic Victorian in the charming village of Healdsburg. Great selection of wineries, gourmet restaurants, and boutique shops nearby.

Review 67:Victorian elegance meets cute wine country charm. Very clean and beautiful, and breakfast was wonderful!
