Reviews for The Grape Leaf Inn

Review 1:We were initially shown a small room in the eaves of the original section of the property. We asked for a room with at least one chair and were offered a choice of 3 slightly larger rooms with a $100 per night increase. Our rate went from $590 to $790 for 2 nights (plus 14% tax).

Review 2:The location is great and it was very quiet at night.

Review 3:no body lotion in the bath...

Review 4:Jessica, the concierge, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and steered us to some wonderful places we wouldn't have chosen on our own - breakfasts get an A+ & the evening wine & cheese were an extra surprise!

Review 5:The only downside is that the bathroom lighting was very dim and they couldn't give us an extra lamp in there....but all in all the stay was great the place lovely and we would stay again.....

Review 6:loved the location...the staff was great...breakfast was not only delicious, and presentation was worth a photograph...Rooms are small, but clean and cozy....

Review 7:No soap bar. Very dim bathroom light. No strainer in sink drain. Broken toilet paper holder. Dirty windows. Trash & junk in back yard. No luggage rack. 2 fried eggs & sausage for breakfast??? All okay for a Holiday Inn, but not when you're paying $665 for 2 nights!!! Very unfortunate experience.

Review 8:Location

Review 9:Our bed headboard was a bit rickety and could've used some extra fasteners, but it didn't taint our experience one little bit.

Review 10:The staff was really really welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. We could not have asked for more gracious hosts.

Review 11:Make sure you do NOT stay in Merlot room. This is set in an eaves position with sloping ceilings. It is impossible to get in and out of bed standing up straight. The same problem occurs In The bathroom where there is very little ceiling height. The bed is the creakiest I have ever slept in. I also do not like communal bottles of toiletries when paying this much for a room!

Review 12:Go fabulous location with only a 5 minute walk to downtown and the many Restaurants available. Staff were wonderful and helpful. Free wine tasting one day of arrival and cookies every are on at 5pm. Breakfast was great and sets you up well for a day of wine tasting!

Review 13:Room was totally compromised on head room space. Cracked my head 3 times. Lighting very poor. Shower old and poor. No choice at breakfast, on second morning packed away 40 mins early and we didn't get anything!

Review 14:Location good. Hotel very quiet

Review 15:Very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The Grape Leaf Inn is about 5 blocks from the Healdsburg Square in a very nice are. We preferred to be a few blocks from the square. Our walks were very relaxing.

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:What's not to like , the room was super comfortable , terrific sheets , great air conditioning , and helpful staff make this place a must stay when your visiting Sonoma!

Review 18:Gourmet Breakfast?? Yoghurt and fresh fruit, followed by a small cooked breakfast. No sign of cereals or offer of toast, marmalade etc to finish. Very disappointing for the price. We left the table still hungry.

Review 19:Bedrooms were good. Gardens were nice.

Review 20:We both found our bed uncomfortable. The blinds didn't block light well and not well insulated against traffic noise. Door to room and en-suite creaky / rattly. In chatting with other guests I found they loved the place, just be wary if you're a light sleeper.

Review 21:This is a beautiful place, tastefully appointed with a lovely 'speakeasy' bar area. The staff warm and pleasant.

Review 22:The rooms are very small. The price is exceptionally high for the quality of the room. Outstanding service, breakfast and location help to ameliorate.

Review 23:The staff was outstanding. Breakfast was superb.

Review 24:The room was hot and there was no way to regulate it. Also, the mattress was worn and had a huge ridge in the middle. For the money, this was surprising.

Review 25:The breakfast was super and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Afternoon wine and cheese ad freshly baked cookies were really nice touches

Review 26:The entire staff is friendly and accommodating. They have enthusiasm for their inn, the city of Healdsburg, and sites we should see throughout Sonoma.

Review 27:Headboard in bed was broken and eobbly

Review 28:Loved the breakfast, warm afternoon cookies and the speak easy. The bottle of complimentary wind in the room was an unexpected surprise.

Review 29:Internet seemed slow and spotty and hot water ran out when the house was full.

Review 30:We liked how every detail was perfect....we liked how many smiles we were greeted with...and we liked how spoiled we felt! Each breakfast was delicious, nutritious and outstanding! All the staff were awesome!!

Review 31:Didnt like that on line it stated pet friendly but that was their sister property. Bathroom for the Sav. Blanc room was too small.

Review 32:Loved the Grape Leaf Inn. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Loved the Speakeasy hidden bar. Wines were tasty and I loved the Salted Caramel Vodka. I will recommend and stay again.

Review 33:Will plan on a downstairs room next time due to heavy luggage and no elevator. The Wi-Fi is planning on putting in a booster station to improve reception.

Review 34:The breakfasts were very good. Proximity to downtown Healdsburg (2 blocks) provided an excellent choice of restaurants for the evening meal. The Inn is part of the Wilson Artisan Wineries group and the basement "Speak-Easy" bar stairs hidden behind the bookcase lead the way to tasting the group's wines in the evening. Will definitely return on our next trip to Healdsburg.

Review 35:Wifi didn't work in our bedroom (but available in communal areas so not a big problem). Can be bit noisy at times.

Review 36:A lovely character building, comfortable bed, lovely jacuzzi bath, original breakfast menus, fab bar with complimentary wine tasting and finally a perfect location to explore the lovely Healdsburg.

Review 37:The breakfast was a bit heavy, but we discovered you could order a light version. Bedrooms were on the small side. Wi-Fi didn't work. Some on going construction.

Review 38:Very friendly staff, Yoki was lovely, and Jacki the bartender in the speakeasy was so knowledgable, about the town, gave us great tips on where to go, etc. The Innkeepers prearranged a private day of wine tasting and lunch in the vineyards for our group of four, and made all dinner reservations for our 3 night stay. We went with their restaurant recommendations, (did our research, as we are all foodies)- all restaurants were complete winners. The Inn's location was with walking distance to the charming town of Healdsburg, lots of wonderful shopping. Restaurants, and tasting rooms.

Review 39:We loved it! The extra touches were so nice-cookies, wine, bfast, welcome note. The staff was very kind & friendly.

Review 40:We liked everything.

Review 41:The location, the property itself was very spacious and beautifully maintained and the staff exceptional.we liked everything

Review 42:Lovely friendly staff (Amy) who clearly enjoyed engaging with the guests

Review 43:Small room when others were empty

Review 44:Friendy staff, wine & cheese in afternoon, breakfast

Review 45:Could hear everything next room was saying. Room small.

Review 46:Very nice staff. Great breakfast.

Review 47:Staff, location, breakfast, wine tasting, parking, lovely facility and grounds were all excellent.

Review 48:From the moment we opened the door, we felt like we had just met up with old friends...so enjoyable and relaxing!

Review 49:A little pricey for accommodations

Review 50:The "speakeasy" for wine tasting, could be open a little longer but very fun. Breakfast.

Review 51:Our room was very small, although I partially blame myself for not noticing the dimensions. When construction is completed it will be the inn's largest room.

Review 52:Nice location in Healdsburg. Walking distance to town and excellent restaurants. Will be a beautiful inn, once construction is completed. We were fortunate to have stayed there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so there was no construction noise. Jackie, the bartender, was really wonderful. In fact, the bar itself was pretty neat. They call it their "speakeasy." The door is behind a movable bookcase. When opened, you walk downstairs for nightly free wine tastings. The inn is owned by the Wilson Group, so tastings are from their small group of wineries. Breakfast was adequate, although it is not fair to comment since we had just come from an inn in Mendocino, where the breakfasts were spectacular.spectacular.

Review 53:The room was comfortable but the bathroom could use some updating. Tub was very hard to get in and out of.

Review 54:The staff was wonderful and the breakfasts were very very good. A nice walk into town.

Review 55:The breakfasts were amazing. The speakeasy with Jackie was so much fun! The bed was very comfortable but we stayed in the Syrah room and the headboard was not attached. The amenities provided in the bath, were quality.

Review 56:For us, the breakfasts were too elaborate. I'm sure we are in theminority, but we would have preferred simpler meals. Also, since the Innis corporately owned, it did not have the cozy feeling associated withinns where the owners live on premises.

Review 57:The Inn is a great location for touring wine country in northern Sonoma. We were able to walk to many good restaurants. The staff was friendlyand the rooms were comfortable.

Review 58:Wonderful B&B - wish we could have stayed longer. Great accomdations & plenty of amentities on site. Easy stroll into downtown Healdsburg. Great breakfasts & wine tasting on-site. Highly recommend.

Review 59:Overly cold air con in the communal rooms and bedrooms Rooms too small if travelling with 2 suitcases per couple. Also did not like having washbasin in the room with toliet and small shower in a separate alcove.

Review 60:Great location, easy parking and access. Interesting and varied breakfast. Bed very comfortable and furniture and accessories in the rooms lovely

Review 61:Way over-priced. Bed too hard so had we been staying there more than 2nights we would have left as our bodies hurt. Breakfast too fancy andgourmet so, didn't really eat. Although it's Victorian and theyare trying to furnish to be in keeping with that style of home, lots ofstuff was just worn out items purchased from 2nd hand type stores. Thetop of our wardrobe was sagging in, and it was water damaged.

Review 62:Liked walking location to town. Friendly staff and potentially a lovelyhouse. It was pleasant, however....

Review 63:Old room, lumpy bed that is not comfortable and too firm pillows that are bad for back

Review 64:Location is very convenient and within walking distance to downtown.

Review 65:Felt it was overpriced for what you got. Have stayed at many B+B's and this was nice but not "charming".

Review 66:We loved the warmth and charm of the B&B.

Review 67:Great rooms, great location, quiet neighborhood. GM Kristen super-nice. Breakfasts tasty!

Review 68:Bathroom was a little cramped

Review 69:Great welcome and beautiful rooms. Loved the complimentary wine tasting, amazing massage. Huge gourmet breakfast

Review 70:Bed too high for the mobility impaired.

Review 71:Rustic feeling. Quiet area

Review 72:Parking was a bit fiddley

Review 73:Old world ambience, food, fixtures were all great

Review 74:The room was a bit small.

Review 75:Breakfast! Absolutely top notch! The wine tasting in the basement speakeasy was very cool.
