Reviews for Continental Inn
Review 1:The room was filthy, i had to wipe down the bathroom with a desinfectant, the room smelled musky...you can feel the springs in the bed...no conditioner, 2 tiny soaps..the drapeswere dirty!! etc
Review 2:The Watress and the breakfast was excellent...the resturant was very clean!!
Review 3:The bed was not very professionally made, the room was showing its age and there were loud people outside the door all night.
Review 4:The hotel is in a very convenient location
Review 5:Great value! While the facility is older, it was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very responsive. The breakfast buffet was limited but good.
Review 6:I've been staying at the continental inn for 39 years. It's not the most modern, but they have great amenities and it's close to everything! I love it.
Review 7:Bathroom light did not work & there was no exhaust fan for the humid air. There was no adjustment to the shower head and the flow of water was not comfortable.
Review 8:Hot tub was good, room was comfortable with a couple of draw backs
Review 9:No channel numbers on the remote. No sound on the weather channel. Something appeared to be wrong with the tv-images stretched out on the sides which distorted the picture.
Review 10:The staff were cheerful and nice
Review 11:Room didn't smell fresh, although it was clean. Personnel was not friendly at all.
Review 12:Good location, lots of parking space. Room is quite big and well furnitured.
Review 13:Front desk personal not pleasant especially when ask for a room change as we where seniors n didn't want to carry luggage upstairs .
Review 14:The restaurant was great the hotness , Vhef, n waitress was right on point. Breakfast was very good good with lot of variety .
Review 15:Very nice they let me have my room early as I explained I was meeting someone coming from Ohio and I was from New Jersey the free breakfast was fantastic the only downfall was that the restaurant was not open on Saturday but there were plenty of places to eat very close to the hotel so that was not a problem
Review 16:The least favorite part but NOT A COMPLAINT is the ageing of the bathrooms, they need an overhaul and the handicap railing in the shower needs to be moved. I smash my elbow every time I'm in there.
Review 17:Always neat, clean and friendly.
Review 18:The rooms were gloomy and apparently untouched since the fifties. Beds were hard. A patch of tile fell off the wall of the shower during the night, there was black mold beneath it. Both rooms smelled musty. The pool was old and too cold to swim in. The wifi did not work.We expected a lot more for $125 a night.
Review 19:The location is central, although the commercial strip is ugly.
Review 20:We stayed 3 notes & although the room was clean it wasn't until the last day of our stay (when the tip envelope was left) that it as sparkling clean & smelled really fresh. Front desk person could step up her smile & friendly attitude.
Review 21:Breakfast was very good..the omelet station was very nice. The hostess in restaurant was very friendly & so accommodating.
Review 22:when booking the room I asked for close to entry not realizing they did not have an elevator! I'm elderly with disability walking. THEY PLACED US ON THE SECOND FLOOR! FIFTEEN STEPS! Needless to say we will not be returning there.
Review 23:Our room smelled maybe like smoke, the staff was curious and tried to rectify. They came right up and sprayed but kept windows open and eventually got better we rented 4 rooms two other also were not that clean, ice cream wrappers in one.
Review 24:perfect location near all
Review 25:The staff was horrible, in particular the lobby attendants. Not at all happy or smiling once. Sometimes not nice or even bothered to try and help with issues to the room, including people smoking in the room next door
Review 26:It was located very close to the Dutch Wonderland and it had a wonderful breakfast. Also, the facilities were nice as well
Review 27:Bad experience with older woman who is host in hotel dinning room, breakfast hours 8 am, bad, travel extensive breakfast is usually start at 6am
Review 28:Location
Review 29:Not a bad experience just the place is old and could use renovations especially the carpets.
Review 30:Location was great.....Breakfast was awesome and everybody that worked there was top notch.
Review 31:Walking outdoors to the pool in the cold rain wasn"t to much fun
Review 32:Amazing Breakfast, Clean rooms with coffee, refrig.Lots to do, helpful staff, Indoor pool
Review 33:The walls were thin. I could hear the people next to me talking throughout the night when I was trying to sleep.
Review 34:Stayed at this hotel since we spent a day at Dutch Wonderland . Literally right next door to the amusement park. Could walk to the park and avoid the parking if you wanted to.
Review 35:It was a little hard getting into and out of the hotel area, the main sign could have been better lit. However the staff and the room made up for everything.
Review 36:Pretty much everything. If it would have had a microwave in the room, it would have been perfect. We are pleased that we found this hotel, and we will surely be back..
Review 37:Nothing bad! Could use some updating, though that didn't matter toour kids. Ashtrays outside of rooms... We're non-smokers so we movedours. Our neighbors were smokers, though, and you could smell it fromour room when they were outside. Room itself smelled very clean, though.
Review 38:Right next to Dutch Wonderland, lots of amenities nearby. Very kid-friendly - nice playground, even with a toddler pool area. Both indoorand outdoor pool very well-kept. Pretty grounds. Excellent, responsivestaff; very friendly. Delicious breakfast, chef made fantastic omelets, nice selection. Fridge was a bonus! Would visit again! Thank you!
Review 39:Entirely to pricey for an out dated motel that needs lots of work.Ratings were very deceiving. Did not stay as long as we planned butchose another motel,
Review 40:The breakfast was good but needed fruit. The chef was good.
Review 41:At original check in and while booking a second room for our daughter/son and grandchildren the staff seemed rude. This may be due to miscommunication between Booking.com and the Inn regarding how long we were staying.
Review 42:We originally stayed there over 30 years ago and a few times since. The place hasn't changed much at all. Commendable that the place is still in great shape. Free breakfasts were nice. The omelette chef and service in the dining room was great.
Review 43:The chairs in the room were stained and dirty, noisy outside the room starting at 7:30am, mattresses not very comfortable
Review 44:The indoor pool, hot breakfast included, friendly staff
Review 45:Cleanliness! Very dusty especially bottom of tables and chairs. Also room numbers very confusing! 143 on second floor!
Review 46:Location was good, staff friendly
Review 47:Did not like the free breakfast. On day two even though we could have had a free breakfast we choose to go IHOP instead for a better selection & quality.
Review 48:The family games and activities available to use.
Review 49:This is an older hotel that has been kept up well. It has a great lawn area with tables and chairs, all kinds of activities, nice indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Great location.
Review 50:It was a very nice hotel. We really liked the pool and nice pkay area for kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very conveniently located to everything we wanted to do.
Review 51:I have made previous stays at the Lancaster Continental and have always found it ideal for my purposes. On this occasion I was suffering from a slight but incapacitating injury and was immediately placed in a first floor room while a wheelchair was provided to enable me to get around the hotel. The breakfast (included in the room price) is a plus and is well cooked and well presented and gives an excellent start to the day.
Review 52:The room was spacious and beautiful! The king size bed was very comfortable! Good location. Near by to the activities we planned for our grandchildren:)
Review 53:The winding staircase to get to our room was a bit tricky with the luggage. Our bathtub had strips on it to prevent slipping, but it was dirty. There was no iron in the room and the one provided was quite scuffed. The shower curtain also was grayish and dirty looking. The cable channels did not match the printed card and there were no movies available for purchase. The hot breakfast and omelette station was great. I just wish they had included fresh fruit. I
Review 54:The pictures on the site, did not do the Inn justice. It is in a great location, literally near everything. The actual facilities were very nice. The ambiance in the lobby and restaurant area was also favorable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was in the middle of everything literally walking distance from the outlets.
Review 55:Not the newest, nicest place but there was nothing to complain about.
Review 56:Was an older building but clean and decent for price. Nice grounds and things to do at hotel!
Review 57:You need an new upgrade on your beds. they are too soft and small. You should provide queen size beds in the rooms also besides the full.
Review 58:I have stayed here several times and have enjoyed the inn very much but this time was not so great. I found the woman that checked us in was not too happy. Not sure if she was not having a good day. My son and husband love the pool table and ping pong table.
Review 59:The breakfast situation doesn't seem worth the price. Thankfully every room entitles two people to a free breakfast, but it's not that great. Id rather spend a few bucks and go eat breakfast elsewhere.
Review 60:Staff is very friendly, and the facilities are comfortable and in great condition. Great place to bring the family!
Review 61:This was our 5th year staying there, it is time to revamp the rooms. Light over bed was broken & the door for A/C would not shut. Bed was not comfortable but rather hard. Hate to see the place look rundown.
Review 62:Closeness to Dutch Wonderland.
Review 63:Ashtray outside my room made me nervous at first but room smelled clean and no signs of anyone smoking in room. But hated the large ash tray outside my door... Such a small issue barely worth noting.
Review 64:Overall great hotel.. If you're expecting the Four Seasons you'll be disappointed but if you want clean, comfy and family friendly then this is the place. Right next to Dutch Wonderland was perfect!
Review 65:Small details I didn't like was the blankets provided on the beds. Very poor quality & no extra blankets in room to use. The air conditioner would dramatically shut off when reach temp & turn back on constantly, keeping me up abit during the night.
Review 66:The facilities were awesome! We loved the outside court yard, the pools, the tables & chairs to hang out in. The way the rooms were centered around everything. The free breakfast was great! It was good hot food with variety. We were couldn't believe everything we got & the price was awesome! 100% would stay again!
Review 67:we loved being close to Dutch Wonderland, and the breakfast was very nice. The back part of the hotel was wonderful for our small grandchildren. They made many friends. We will stay there again!!!
Review 68:The room smelled very strongly of smoke and was hard to take. We had to leave the windows open and it was loud outside until very late.
Review 69:The pool and courtyard areas were awesome! The room was a good size for two adults and two children.
Review 70:Some of the breakfast items could have been better tasting. But a decent selection was provided.
Review 71:We enjoyed the courtyard, omelet station, indoor pool, playground, and proximity to shopping and Dutch Wonderland.
Review 72:Very dated decor, carpet needs to be replaced. The bed was so soft it sagged in the middle. Limited handicapped parking.
Review 73:Spacious open areas, lots of tables, chairs, benches, outdoor bar although limited hours. Easy to find. Close to Dutch Wonderland.
Review 74:no bad experience at all!!
Review 75:the cleanliness of the rooms, even though they were a bit dated. everything was just fine the staff and the breakfast was absolutely great, very very accommodating.
Review 76:The first morning we had breakfast, the pancakes were very thin and small not like they usually are. I stay here a lot but it was my friend's first time and the breakfast was not the greatest.
Review 77:The staff were friendly and very helpful. The pools both indoor and outdoor were great fun.
Review 78:Our room was extremely clean. The grounds were beautiful--I would recommend the back of the Inn since the lawn, tables, walkway, and pool are all very attractive. You forget about the busy road out front because of the calmness and look of the courtyard. The indoor Jacuzzi was very relaxing and your pools and facilities were kept very clean and inviting. We enjoyed having the coffeemaker in our room for the mornings too--good coffee! The breakfast each morning was delicious and the restaurant staff so warm and friendly. Alicia was a sweetheart! We are definitely going to stay at your establishment again. Thank you!
Review 79:Room had an odor when I walked in; like an old smoking room; perhaps the carpet needs replacing. The odor went away as I was in the room longer. Although free, I would have liked fruit and small pastries on the buffet. I missed being able to order from a menu.
Review 80:I don't like that you can't check in till 3. Most hotels are 12 or 1 for check in.
Review 81:I love that they have a view of the court yard and is close to everything. The staff was also nice. ..
Review 82:This was our second time here. Its right next door to dutch wonderland and we can leave our car there and walk to the park to save parking fees. Amazing breakfast included. Really great children's play area and lots of pools! Clean hotel overall.
Review 83:The room carpets need to be deep cleaned, my comforter on my bed was stained. Rooms need to be dusted. Inside pool area floors are disgusting, the whirlpool bottom was rusted.
Review 84:I love the how close the hotel was to everything and the outside and inside pool we visited during the rain.
Review 85:we stayed two nights, room wasn't cleaned or refreshed during our stay, almost ran out of toilet paper. Free breakfast was good but would like some fruit choices
Review 86:Facilities were perfect for families. Sat outside in the court yard at night and watched my children play and make friends . Called housekeeping for extra blankets and they were brought within 5 minutes!!! Rooms were well sound proofed.
Review 87:We have allergies; the non-smoking room had an ash tray right beside our entrance door. The room did not have a super fresh smell, but it was ok once we put the air on and it circulated thru the room.
Review 88:I liked the location, the size of the room, the cleanliness of the room and the Inn; the wonderful play equipment, the children's pool, the space for the children to play, the hot and delicious breakfast and the portions of food...the Inn is "old" but very clean... We had a great time!
Review 89:Still beautiful and clean, even after not having been there for 10 years (when our boys were small)! The view from our room was so beautiful and peaceful (in the back by the pool). Breakfast buffet -YUM! (same hostess as 10 years ago... that was so comforting!!!
Review 90:Small issue that we had a coffee maker but no convient place to plug it in.
Review 91:Room was average. Staff was pleasant. We needed extra towels and we had a cereal spill and they came right away. Staff at restaurant was nice and helpful.
Review 92:The first night, the hottub was not working. They fixed it by the second night.
Review 93:The rooms were clean, ample parking, and easy to get to. The hotel is off of a main road with plenty of places to eat around it. For those with young kids, it is next door to Dutch Wonderland. It has an indoor pool, outdoor pool, kiddie pool, and hot tub. Plus, free breakfast for 2.
Review 94:we had very noisy neighbors who seemed to be in a domestic dispute --but that wasn't your fault.
Review 95:loved being right by the playground. loved the hot tub. Loved walking to the creek and watching the cows. Overalll, we loved it. If you ever offer any special discounts, we would love to come back. the cost was just a little bit of a stretch for our modest family.
Review 96:just few suggestions rooms are somewhat dated, I was in room 105, not bad but maybe clean the curtains, update bath a bit, also noticed the bath-door was burnt from the heating light,
Review 97:it was convenient to Dutch Wonderland, takes about 5 min walk, in/outdoor pool and kids playground, the hostess at breakfast remembered us from 2 yrs ago, ironically got the same room, nice view, has tables and chairs outside, buffet was good (served weekends), there is also the Golden Corral there now so you can walk to buffet style dinner which was good, overall good. Has fridge. Good enough for sleeping
Review 98:The breakfast buffet in the morning should have a little more variety, like fresh fruit, yogurt.
Review 99:I loved the location and the facilities (playground, swimming pools, game room) that attracted the young children and kept them busy.
Review 100:unfortunately we had a bout of children banging on our room door in the early hours of the morning. you can hear every step the other guests make in adjacent rooms
Review 101:staff were very friendly and attentive, location was right in the middle of everywhere we wanted to go and the room was clean and comfortable
Review 102:ashtray located next to entry door and inside room smelled cigarette. Mattress is old, faucet of bath tub loosed , refrigerator is not working properly
Review 103:Easy parking, waitress is friendly but the old lady at the check in table when you walk in to restaurance is not friendly.
Review 104:I thought the bathroom could have been a little bigger and updated.
Review 105:I liked that the hotel had a lot for my 2 kids to do. I also liked where the hotel was located on the strip.
Review 106:The room could use a bit of updating.
Review 107:Good value a block away from Dutch wonderland. Includes indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, tanning beds, hot breakfast buffet, laundry room, game room, playground. The room was a bit old looking but clean. Overall, we would return.
Review 108:My coffee pot didn't work and the rooms could be cleaner. Crowded and not enough electric outlets. Refrigerator was on wooden boxl and isn't safe, it fell when I tried to plug something in. Noisy if in rooms facing highway. One employee was rude.
Review 109:The outdoor pool with the little water area for the little ones. The indoor pool and hot tubs is great also. Loved the playground! The whole outdoor area was nice and pretty.
Review 110:tHIS IS NOT A DISLIKE JUST A SUGGESTION, THE RESTURAUNT COULD OPEN A LITTLE EARLIER FOR BREAKFAST.
Review 111:a GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY, LOCATION IS GOOD. oVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL.
Review 112:The mattresses were a bit uncomfortable but otherwise the room suited our needs nicely.
Review 113:The buffet breakfast was great. We loved the omelette station. The room was worn but generally comfortable. We arrived quite late but the receiving staff was very welcoming.
Review 114:Thin walls, guests in neighboring room woke me up using normal talking voice.
Review 115:Comfortable room, close to gas station convenience store, and fast food. Easy on and off of interstate.
Review 116:When we first checked in we were put in a room in the front parking lot on bottom level, when they were not even booked all the way. So went back to front desk and someone else put us on second level in the middle of the beauitful court yard.
Review 117:The room, court yard, indor pool, hot tub, double swing, breakfast, the friendly staff, check in and out times, the fact they did not even charge you for the room until check out. and its location.
Review 118:Like stepping back into the 1970's! This place needs an update and facelift. One of the mattresses in the room needs replacement--you roll into the center of the bed.
Review 119:Clean room Free breakfast
Review 120:Hot tube water looked very cloudy I didn't want to get in it. Needs some updates and better mattresses. Would put a curfew on the kids playing outside.
Review 121:The atmosphere is nice and kid friendly
Review 122:I didn't like how on Friday night afew incoming guest were walking through the hotel with cases of beer, I didn't feel it was conductive to the family atmosphere. And Saturday night there was a party going on till after 1 am and it was loud and obnoxious.
Review 123:I love that this inn was family centered, plenty for my little brother to do. He's never been so good on a trip before. The staff was very nice.
Review 124:Room was in need of an update; heat was not easily regulated.
Review 125:The breakfast had great variety and the chef preparing eggs and omelets as requested was a very nice addition.
Review 126:Our only complaint was the very strong chlorine smell in the pool/hot tub area.
Review 127:This is definitely in the middle of things, equal distance to two outlet malls, close to all the major attractions. It's also worth getting the "Country View" rooms, it cuts down on the noise from the main road.
Review 128:Wifi was horrible.
Review 129:The rooms were very clean. Shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was great. Staff was friendly & helpful.
Review 130:The rooms could have been a little cleaner.
Review 131:The pool and hot tub, the outside access to rooms. We had two adjoining rooms which was great. Hotel close to lots of Lancaster activities.
Review 132:restaurant only open for breakfast which might be good because the buffet breakfast was awful.... front desk clerk during 2nd shift was very rude. not helpful. I found a bug in our room. in the middle of winter. door didn't close unless you really slammed it closed. kept popping open.
Review 133:hot tub and pool area were nice
Review 134:The Wifi became a little slow during the evening hours probably because many guests were using it.
Review 135:On a 10 degree day, I chose the place because it had an indoor pool and hot tub. The staff accomodated my early check-in. The price included the restaurant full breakfast.
Review 136:I think I got bit by sumn but wasn't to sure I had a itchy bump on my right arm when I got under the covers but I did check for bed bugs before hand.idk though.
Review 137:I often come here with my husband and two boys.I like that they have seasonal prices and are still affordable.on Sunday morning there is a chef that cooks for u and the food is good.check out the savings package for Dutch wonderland
