Reviews for Lancaster Family Resort
Review 1:1. I heard from the staff that the elevators have been out of service since October 2015 and they put me on the 4th floor. 2. I specifically booked this hotel because of the indoor pool, not only was it cold (50 degrees) but it was dirty. 3. I also wanted to use the sauna- that was out of service. 4. The sidewalks were all cracked and hard to pull luggage with wheels over. 5. The carpets on the stairwells were ripped, smelled awful, and were very dirty. 6. The carpet/hallway outside of my room was very dirty and smelled awful. 7. The tub faucet ran all day and night. I mentioned it to the hotel staff, no one fixed it. 8. The water was cold in the shower and would not warm or heat up. 9. I only was provided 1 towel and no wash cloths. I also mentioned that. Housekeeping did not respond. I have Asthma, so basically between having to walk 4 sets of steps to get to my room several times and the smell of the facility, both sent me into several Asthma attacks for which I needed my rescue inhaler several times. This was truly an awful experience and I want my money back.
Review 2:I had to do some room cleaning. It's very old and needs to be remodeled. I can take old but the 2nd floor ceiling was falling down. Overall we are staying there again in the spring for another dance competition. Also I am celiac so continental breakfast had nothing for me. I ended up bringing something in
Review 3:Convenient to downtown Lancaster and across from Dutch Wonderland.
Review 4:When we checked in the receptionist could care less about us to busy talking to her friend. When we went to check out the receptionist was sleeping at the front desk at her computer. No milk for cereal at breakfast bar. Bathroom faucets were on wrong cold water on left side and hot water on right. Granddaughters almost got burned my that incidents. Will not be staying there again Booked there since it was a Ramada.
Review 5:Close to attraction Dutch Wonderland
Review 6:None of the gym equipment worked, the treadmill key was missing, the girl at the front desk was sleeping twice. She hid from us once, had to call the hotel to get her to the desk, the pool water was freezing, there was a cock roach in the water as well, the pool tables were missing a cue ball on every one and one of the sticks was broken, hair dryer was missing the back causing hair to be sucked into the back and pulled out! The bagels in the breakfast room were moldy. These were shown to the manager on duty on December the 28th. Also took a picture of these bagels and will post on the internet as well as notify the health department of this and the cock roach in the swimming pool. No wash cloths were left in the room. Was told they were out. Girl tried to give us hand towels to use. Terrible experience.
Review 7:The pictures on the internet were what prompted me to book here. They were lovely. False advertisement.
Review 8:No elevator for disabled Pool that was not filtered ( water was stagnant) No enter net connection (reported problem three times) Poor TV reception, and channel selection.
Review 9:The staff was understand and apologia, but helpless to correct problems.
Review 10:The over all cleanliness and appearance of property were horrible! Last year during our stay things appeared to be turning around and took a complete nose dive this year! The grounds and building were completely filthy and run down with a lot of trash and out of order signs! We have been staying at this property yearly for the last for years and will absolutely not be going back!
Review 11:Convenient location with great entertainment. This property has great potential with the right management and investors!
Review 12:Plumbing didn't work so moved to another room and that was loud and water was still not right and had bug issues . Was not very happy at all . Place as gone down hill
Review 13:Location , had been going there for years
Review 14:The elevator was broken and apparently has been for months. The tv in room didn't work properly. We did not Even have a Chanel guide or any information on how to contact the front desk.
Review 15:Nothing about his hotel was likable.
Review 16:Our room was a handicapped room. It was very run down. The bath towels were so off color from white that they looked gray. Really did not want to use them.
Review 17:The location was great. The lobby area was nice.
Review 18:Where to start. I waited 40 minutes for someone to come to the front desk just so I could check in. The hotel was filthy the pool was freezing , the elevators were broken, the heat in the room was broken. To top it all off they charged my credit cards twice. I am still waiting for a callback to get it resolved
Review 19:Dirty falling apart. Stank every where. Bugs everywhere.. Elevators look like a murder happen. Not happy at all. Over priced... Worse place we ever stayed
Review 20:This hotel was very outdated and shabby looking. Most importantly, our bathroom was disgusting. There was mold/mildew on the ceiling and the tub looked like there was rust on the bottom of it. I almost scalded my hand trying to shut off the hot water for the shower! I had to use a towel to shut if off it was so hot.The water for the shower trickled out. The comforter on one of the beds was dirty. I called the front desk for new blankets which took an hour and a half. This was the worst! The staff didn't really seem to care that much either.
Review 21:Nothing.
Review 22:Employee hosting the breakfast. Two mornings, in a row, the cream was sour. First time I let it go. Second time I quietly told her. She was not concerned, didn't offer to get fresh cream. Didn't apologize & walked away. She stated, "there's nothing I can do, the container is cold." So, I left to buy coffee elsewhere!
Review 23:Availability of show in the hotel.
Review 24:first room we had the bathtub had a large crack making it unusable. and the room smelled bad. second room, molding was coming off the wall. it had water damage. The toilet was so slow refilling after flushing we used a trash can to flush it.
Review 25:Location, Location, Staff
Review 26:Dirty, all lifts and elevators were out of order. Carpets on stairs were worn out and ripped making it a hazard for people who have disabilities.
Review 27:Location
Review 28:The hotel was "ragtag". Definitely a lovely place once, but that has been allowed to fall into dirt and disrepair through lack of maintenance. Was told at check-in: "Elevator's not working." I thought he was joking...unfortunately, he wasn't.
Review 29:The location was great...close to shopping and entertainment. Breakfast buffet was sparse, but acceptable.
Review 30:For a "Ramada" property- I was extremely disappointed! This place is in SERIOUS need of updating EVERYTHING. It was just down right disgusting! It should be closed down and everything in the facility thrown out and start from scratch! They have the potential to make a huge profit with their location being a key factor. There are approx. 165 rooms and there were 6-8 cars in the parking lot...do I need to say more? All other Hotels/Motels/Resorts were sold out.
Review 31:That the elevator broken I had just had both knees replaced and that wasn't menton when reserve the room which had to walk up stairs and that made my night unpleasant
Review 32:That it was close to a lot of things
Review 33:The hallways were in bad condition and need immediate remodeling. The eldest employee in the breakfast room was mean and not friendly.
Review 34:The room was very clean and nice...very comfortable. .
Review 35:Facility is in need of major updates except the pool and lobby. Rugs badly worn dangerous in places. No laundry available and staff had no clue when it would be. Broken programmes.Huge liability issues!T
Review 36:The fact that they must be remodeling and it wasn't too clean. Parking was terrible. They have weekend entertainment there and the public used up ALL parking spaced so guest have to walk a mile to park.
Review 37:I loved the fact is was right across the street from Dutch Wonderland Happy Hauntings which was the purpose of our trip.
Review 38:Hotel is in need of repair. Lobby looks great, the rest looks like something from the 60's. Needs to finish renovations
Review 39:Location central to many local attractions and shopping areas
Review 40:Very old. Nothing works. Carpet are dirty and ripped. Elevator doesn't work. Room very old. Outdoor pool doesn't work. Place needs lots of improvements
Review 41:Location. Big room. Breakfast was excellent. Lobby is beautiful and that's it for the hotel.
Review 42:Lobby is fabulous to bad the rooms are horrible. Had to wait while checking in on Monday evening for front desk person to get off cell phone. Went to room had to go back and ask for towels and wash cloths. Got towels but no wash cloths. Really it was just one other vehicle in the parking lot and there was a wash cloth shortage? Stayed 4 nights and finally on the 4th night we had wash cloths in our room. For the price I expected more. Pictures online are deciptive of what the rooms really look like. Comforters on beds were dirty. Sign at the front entrance said to use the "A" Entrance instead of the front lobby. That meant having to climb 2 flights of stairs if you were on the so called ground floor. Elevator was broke. No wheel chair ramp and chair lift was broke. I don't know what someone who was disabled would do. Needless to say we used the FRONT ENTRANCE, I wasn't having my Mother climb 2 flights of stairs.
Review 43:The lobby was nice. Had a stoplight that helped to get in and out of parking lot
Review 44:Somehow, our reservation never went through. We arrived to find out that we had NO ROOMS!!! We had to kick out more money!
Review 45:We were pointed to another hotel by a semi-friendly staff member.
Review 46:Halls were gross. Key card only worked sporadically. Elevator and lifts were all broken. Restaurant staff were inept.
Review 47:Room was cleaner than the rest of the facility. Location is ideal.
Review 48:I did not like that the mattress was very uncomfortable. Also there wasn't any conditioner available with the toiletries, only shampoo.
Review 49:I liked that there was a comedy club and 2 bars open at night. The rooms were also very spacious.
Review 50:Everything. Many steps going into lobby - tough when you're dragging suitcases. Rooms were either up or down and elevator was broken. Halls reeked of overload air freshener. What are they trying to hide? Hotel very old. In serious need of remodel. Facade falling apart. Room, however, was big.
Review 51:Elevator broke. Very old building! Hot water knob got very hot. Hallways dirty.
Review 52:Beds were nice and pillows were great! Heated floor nice. Rooms were a great size.
Review 53:We had what they called Halloween bugs in our room ,. Our accommodations were a real disappointment .
Review 54:The friendliness of the waitress we had .
Review 55:The first room we received had about 50 bugs in it we transferred rooms. The hot water tub handle sprayed out back on the wall and the toilet was dirty. Old and outdated they should spend a little money to remodel, carpets in hall patched and frayed just all around dirty. Never before have I seen a tip jar in the breakfast room front desk personal eating at desk at check in and check out pleasant but very unprofessional staff.
Review 56:not much
Review 57:Borderline disgusting. I was afraid to let any part of my body touch anything, floor, table, shower wall. They need major renovations.
Review 58:The location was nice.
Review 59:Not much to complain I think its an old place in need of some repairs but it looked like it was being worked on
Review 60:Definitely in a great spot and my daughter loved the pool
Review 61:Sauna, elevator, clothes dryer, wheel chair lift on front steps was out of order
Review 62:Great bed and pillow. Room was spacious and nice. Nice and Cheap. Will stay again. Wall paper was pealing In a few spots, but who cares. Over all a nice hotel.
Review 63:Place is in need of major repair. Nothing works from elevators to broken gym equipment to rooms that smell of musk and mold, toilet broke, carpets tore in rooms and hallways, Front desk clerk sitting at computer chewing on a straw that's professional...lol!! Bed sheets put on inside out. Indoor pool missing 2 steps to get out of Deep area. This place is not worth staying at for your money. Signed up for smoking room got there and told it was smoke free and if I wanted to smoke in room I had to pay an extra $250.00. I then asked could I smoke on the balcony she told me I didn't have one. Told her to wait ran out to my car and got my paper work showing I had a smoking room and balcony. Well she switched me to a balcony but I didn't get my smoking room. PLEASE DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME STAYING AT THIS HOTEL it not worth the money you are paying you would be better off staying at Motel 8 or any other Hotel along the Lincoln Highway.
Review 64:Continental breakfast was the only thing to like. Along with the nice older lady that took pride in her work and kept the area very clean. Apparently she is the only one that cares in that place.
Review 65:Elevators broken, dirty, smelly, old, Wi-Fi sucked, fuzzy channels, toilet broken, pool dirty, 2 out of 3 exercise machines broken, mold in room, bugs, no lighting in parking lot, tried to overbill my debit card and tried to Bill customer in front of me for 2 days when he only stayed 1 day. Just plain low life, scary hotel. Bills days Ramada but Ramada sold hotel and has no ties to Lancaster Can't Resorts. Never again.
Review 66:There wasn't anything favorable.
Review 67:Parking was unavailable due to comedy show on the premises. No Wi-Fi , several options were available to choose from but none picked up anywhere. Bathroom was a disgrace. Mold everywhere, shower was rusty and had not been cleaned in quite some time. No water pressure. Water would either be ice cold or scalding hot, which hit intermittently causing a burn on my leg. One towel in bathroom for three people. Television stations were sparse and the voice did not work on several and other channels were all static. Went to desk several times and someone was supposed to come to our room...never showed up. Noise level was loud from street traffic.
Review 68:Coke machine didn't give my 75 cents change and when I told the lady at front desk she said she would call maintence but I never saw or heard from them and she was clearly busy on her cell phone.
Review 69:Pool area nice, room very nice , very hot water, staff great for most part, breakfast fantastic and breakfast attendant was very helpful and kind.
Review 70:Water changed temperature and became scalding, very outdated with ripped carpeting, mold, some pillows did not have pillow cases, no extra toilet paper left in the room...
Review 71:The elevator wasn't working for the entire time we were there. We were traveling with old people, and it was a struggle to go up and down the stairs. My father-in-law has a COPD, a lung problem and it took him forever to catch up his breath everytime he uses the stairs.
Review 72:Friendly staff, overall the hotel was clean, spacious rooms, good breakfast.
Review 73:This hotel was dirty and rundown. The carpets were filthy and thread bare. The ceiling leaked and there were bugs in the room. The walks were so thin that we had to switch rooms do my children didn't have to listen to vulgar language all night. Our second room was occupued!!! Our 3rd roo. Was disgusting!
Review 74:Nothing
Review 75:Every elevator in the place was broken and when I asked about ADA compliance Nick at the front desk was no help and only gave a non-concerning shoulder shrug.
Review 76:The room has Bad smells and the bar/club closed at 10pm on a Saturday night
Review 77:Hotel is out dated. Rooms smelled like damp mold. Hotel looked like it was falling apart.
Review 78:Really would have liked a mini fridge in room. A microwave would have been nice too. I have spent less at other hotels and the amenities were better.
Review 79:Location was excellent. We did not have to venture far to take in the sights.
Review 80:Could use a super good cleaning! Like a pro detailer! Door frames looked dirty, carpet stains, and some other areas. Tv could be a bit bigger for the size of the room and how far away you sit from it. If in the larger double king rooms. And an elevator that looks straight from a horror film.
Review 81:Friendly staff, warm indoor pool, fun events in hotel (comedy, bar, karaoke)
Review 82:The halls and stairway were dark and worn. The television was snowy and totally unusable. We were assigned a room at the end of the long hall which was already occupied.
Review 83:The location was good and the bathroom was clean.
Review 84:Parking was impossible wifi didnt work noisy n crowded expected a cleaner room maintenance was needed in room staff did not accommodate to requests would not stay again n will tell others about the disappointment
Review 85:Breakfast
Review 86:Dirty room, old and need to be fixed, decks falling apart , ceiling in shower failing down Elevator didn't work Soda machine takes money a
Review 87:The staff was rude, the overall condition of the property was poor i.e. carpets worn, wall paper falling off, stopper in tub rusted and broken.
Review 88:The location. It was across the street from Dutch Wonderland, a short distance from the outlet stores and all types of restaurants.
Review 89:Renovations needed ASAP throughout: carpet, ceiling tiles, pools indoor and outdoor dirty, sauna not operable, elevator broke, dining room tables a mess
Review 90:The while experience
Review 91:All the towels were dirty that were in the room the place was dirty the service sucked and I want my money back i hated it and I will never stay there again and I'm filing a formal complaint
Review 92:Facilities were old, worn, smelly; rude late-night desk clerk tried torun my card for a room deposit, but begrudgingly backed off after I toldhim that I didn't see that in the terms when I made the reservation.Filthy hallways, staircases and indoor pool; outdoor pool was drained,no nets on the tennis or basketball courts; snowy television screen. Mycompanion was bitten by bedbugs all over his body; they changed ourroom, but it wasn't much better. After he ended up going to theemergency room, management is only willing to take off one night of a2-night stay. Repugnant. This dump should be condemned.
Review 93:A couple of employees were nice; the restaurant was reasonably pricedand the bartender was fantastic.
Review 94:Facility was terrible. Our AC froze up after the first night and we had to move to another room. The other couple had to change rooms every night of their stay: after the first night because the toilet was not bolted to the floor, after the second night because the only elevator was out of order. There was no internet access in the rooms, and not even in the business center in the lobby, where the computer was next to the ATM that was out of order. Location is not everything . . .
Review 95:Location fit our needs
Review 96:There was a constant running of water in the tub faucet, the rugs were worn and soiled. In general the room needs a total overhaul. Would not recommend staying there.
Review 97:The location was good as well as the breakfast, although we were not informed about it and overheard a guest mention it on the second day.
Review 98:The rooms smelled of years and years of cigarette smoke. The beds, carpet, furniture, etc. was vintage 1970/80. Came home with all of our clothes smelling of stale smoke. On the positive side, I did see some renovations going on.
Review 99:The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Review 100:face sink and bath tub water take too long to go down , toilet have to flush twice, under sink needed improvement,no wifi, cannot sit out side , no chair and not safe, looking at the back no apperance, indoor pool no light and good apprance, breakfast table needed new , landscaping needed,
Review 101:just the desk staff
Review 102:Overall the building is just old and not set up like other motel/hotels. Also, tried to take a shower the morning before we checked out and the know was stuck. I had to wash my 2 feet of hair under the faucet. Also, walls are pretty thin and was able to hear the neighbors through the wall at 3 am.
Review 103:It's in a convenient location to activities and shopping.
Review 104:Toilet in room needed some maintenance. Signs at the washer/dryer were wrong (prices) and a bit misleading. Staff at front desk were unaware of the availability of laundry detergent (as stated on the sign at the W/D). I'm a firm believer of following through with offered services. the sign offered laundry detergent, staff was unprepared to follow through.
Review 105:Size of the room, availabity of extra services...Wi-Fi, Pool, Washer/Dryer, continental Breakfast was great!
Review 106:They are renovating the facility stairs for all luggage getting in, out and to room was a big issue. Laundry facilities were out of order and indoor pool area was dirty with lots of dead bugs along sides of room. When renovations are complete, I would go back again.
Review 107:Convenient to where my convention was. Close to many excellent restaurants.
Review 108:overall appearance needs updating and renovation, rugs in room/halls need replacing, shower clean, hot but faucet very noisy,ABC station not available, fuzzy, not able to watch
Review 109:balcony,continental breakfast,bed,pillows comfortable,coffee maker in room,hair dryer,iron and board,nice touch,plenty of towels.
Review 110:The outside front was nice to look at. You entered the foyer and then the lobby and the whole place needed swept. The game room was worse and the carpet dirty and worn through on the steps. The indoor pool looked in need of chemicals and my daughter would not let her children go in. In the room our bed linens looked like they were washed and just put on the beds. They were wrinkled and one had cigarette holes in it. There was no refrigerator in the room and we had to plug in all the lights and the phone!!! This is a real shame because in it's day this place was beautiful. We went outside to the pool and the balconies looked ready to fall down- a real accident waiting to happen. We would not stay again.
Review 111:The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was nice and the kids loved making a waffle!
Review 112:A/C did not work properly, hallways were dirty, indoor pool was dirty, staff was not very friendly, the outside was not swept, they had very few outside lights on
Review 113:The only thing that looked decent was the outdoor pool, the continental breakfast was ok
Review 114:Hotel needed major upgrading. Alot of things were broken. Pool chipped up, no lighting in indoor pool, exercise equipment broken, shabby room, carpet stains throughout etc, etc.Nothing like pictures on line.
Review 115:Hotel was right in the center of Lancaster.
Review 116:they did not give us the room we requested. the room they gave us did not have a fridge or microwave. one desk clerk was rude. two other desk clerks were helpful. took 24 hrs to get coffee pack to room.
Review 117:liked the pools and bar/grill
Review 118:The property is very run down. We had two rooms. I had a wet wash towel from a previous lodger in the bathroom (gag). My girlfriend was bitten by a bedbug on the last night of our stay. The wifi was not available in my room.
Review 119:The room was spacious.
Review 120:Condition of room was terrible. The only positive was the sheets at least lookes and smelled clean. Wallpaper peeling everywhere. Stained sofa cushions and carpets, dirty carpets under tables and in corners. Cable fuzzy and old tvs. Mold and water damaged ceiling tiles. Countertops with broken edges and undersides. Generally not a safe environment for a young child. Outside balcony door did not have a working deadbolt. Only a chain lock.
Review 121:Nice for pool size and indoor outdoor use.
Review 122:The lock on our door was not working we could not get in our room. We had to go all the way to the front desk to get someone to let us in. The very first night we asked for a new room and was told someone would fix it the next morning. We had reservations for three nights. Each night we were told someone would fix it and in the morning we were told there was no one available to fix it. It was a big inconvenience to have to walk back to the front desk when our lock would not open. The hotel could be a beautiful place to stay if the owner would put the money into fixing it up. It is sad to see a hotel that once was beautiful just left to ruin.
Review 123:The big out door pool
Review 124:It looked like a murder had taken place in the elevator. There was noaccess to the balconies because they were covered with broken cement andother construction detritus. Had to reactivate my room key every time Ientered the room.
Review 125:The price
Review 126:the room was so nasty, smelly, mold in corners, run down, everything was old old old.. this place needs a serious update.. gross,
Review 127:absolutely nothing!!!
Review 128:Outside pool had a lot of cement chips on the bottom that had broke off from the sides. Did not go in because I cannot take a chance of cutting my feet. Other then that the pool was clean.
Review 129:No staff around, anywhere. So empty it had a creepy feel. In need of structural and cosmetic upgrades. Parking Lot was dark.
Review 130:Decent sized room, clean. Great property size and great location. Nice backyard and pond, large outdoor pool, comfortable indoor pool with plenty of space.
Review 131:The outside pool area had weeds and grass growing some weeds 10inches high. The pool was in poor shape. Broken concert from the poolin the pool.
Review 132:Location is great Dutch Wounder Land right across the street. Walkingdistance to everything.
Review 133:To start, I should say that the man working the desk told us the hotel is getting ready to undergo an extensive renovation, so by the time you read this, perhaps my "dislikes" will be obsolete. The location is great, but everything was old, dingy, and in need of an upgrade (which it will soon get!). Stained sheets, raggedy towels, gross smell coming through the vents (we did change rooms because of this), nasty indoor pool...overall just gross. BUT- call and ask if they've renovated yet. Once they do, I'm sure it'll be fantastic.
Review 134:Location is great.
Review 135:had mold in the bathroom left us no towels asked for them got them at noon next day bed sheets look like someone used them the knight before. the room was not clean!!
Review 136:the price was the only thing that was not so bad in till they were going to charge us for 3 night when it should have been 2 nites
Review 137:TV was broke, phone was broke, electric was having problems, door latch was broke, elevator was broke, changed to 4 different rooms with no improvements. Rooms were very outdated dingy and dirty.
Review 138:Across the street from Dutch Wonderland
