Reviews for Best Western Fairfax City
Review 1:Free breakfast was nice, but the food was not kept stocked quick enough. It was a fairly busy Saturday morning however.
Review 2:Great location. Quiet. Clean and comfortable.
Review 3:The carpet in the room was really dirty though you could not actually see the dirt. But the dirt could be seen on a pair of white socks I only had on for wearing in the room. So dirty had to change into another pair just to go to wear to bed.
Review 4:The availability of a room when I needed one and the ability to reserve with the option to pay with cash when I arrive instead of having my credit card charged.
Review 5:everything..I have never felt more scammed than I have with this stay. The pictures were not at all what the real thing was. I called ahead to see if the hotel was in walking distance to the metro and the person said yes (it wasn't), the room had a musty, damp odor and the carpets were so dirty it turned our socks gray. The people were not very friendly or helpful with anything. They neglected to mention there would be workers on the roof every morning early banging loudly and waking us up..They told me the wrong time the breakfast stopped serving and we missed it one day.. So much more.. I am a single mom and it was so difficult financially for me to even pay for this hotel.. Ruined my vacation..
Review 6:nothing.. I would never go back even if someone gave it to me free!!!!!
Review 7:Perhaps find a way to keep the pool cleaner, so that those who dare to swim in between bouts of bad weather stay well. Might want to check funcitoning of dryers, which gooble change without functioning
Review 8:The breakfast was nice and cordially with very friendly serving and food staff. Conscientious cleaning staff which I appreciate. Might want to consider finding easier access to upper levels for those who have difficulty on their own but I appreciated the courtesy of the gentleman behind the reception counter who offerred to help me carry my luggage to my second floor room. Great that you have a lifeguard on duty so many hours day and night!
Review 9:raw bacon, hair in the eggs, to name a few, no place to sit in eat had to wait for a table to open while holding our food
Review 10:rooms where ok and most of the staff were good
Review 11:Very close to the George mason campus and other attractions. Love being across from the pool - want to book same room 110 for when I move my son back to GMU !! Pool should be open then!!!
Review 12:Non smoking room, had shower curtains that smelled of smoke. Some cleaning product order was lingering on the bed. I am still sniffling from it. Telephone dial up would have been faster than the wifi.
Review 13:Close to where I had to go.
Review 14:Bathroom had a pee stain on the floor from the previous occupants. That tells me the bathroom floor was not mopped. Totally repulsed me. The bed sheet had some black stains on it.
Review 15:staff was helpful, friendly
Review 16:Constant late night door closing and frequent isle way activity was annoying. Only to find out in the morning I'm next door to the housekeeping room. Odd it has a second floor corner view of the pool?? I'd suggest it be moved away from occupied rooms.
Review 17:Good breakfast. Lightning fast check in and check out.
Review 18:People smoking right outside our room. The smoke came into our room. Also, unhappy with the fact that my Best Western Rewards card was turned down because I booked online with Booking Buddy.
Review 19:The rooms were roomy, sleep comfortable, breakfast great. All in all it was a very plesant stay.
Review 20:Little dated.
Review 21:The ambiance at breakfast was very nice, no blaring tv. Everything was hot and fresh. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable.
Review 22:-
Review 23:The hotel was very nice, we had a good stay. The location is great, the I66 is just a few minutes away and the metro station is a short 10 minute drive away. The staff was very friendly, we especially loved the lady that looked after breakfast. The breakfast itself was great, lots of choices every morning. The room was very clean. We would definitely book here again.
Review 24:Because we used "Booking .com", we did not received BW and CAA points from that chain. Breakfast had a limited selection. -NO SUGAR Cereals, fruit salad. Limited selection of good restaurants.
Review 25:Ease of access by car from I66 and I95 Good bedding Clean Lots of parking Quiet
Review 26:Water pressure a little low in bathroom. This is not really important to me. My likes outweigh this dislike.
Review 27:I received quality check in customer service, very clean room, great location near everything, wonderful breakfast. I would stay again.
Review 28:The room was not extremely clean the water ran all the time in the tub and the door had air cracks underneath the bottom of the door
Review 29:The central location of the Horst
Review 30:Breakfast time should extend to 11. Bathroom door didn't close- had to lock to keep it closed
Review 31:Nice clean room facing the pool. Close to the GMU campus. Friendly staff- informative regarding directions to local vicinity and going into DC. Also late check- out time was excellent
Review 32:Too many rules at the pool. No food, no alcohol, no smoking. I wouldn't mind stepping outside pool area to have a smoke or a snack, or a beer but the gate to the common area, where there are benches and picnic tables is always locked.
Review 33:Clean rooms, comfy bed, plenty of room, friendly staff, great location, easy access to rt. 66. Very nice free breakfast bar. Not far from Vienna Metro. In town for a concert at Wolf Trap...only a few miles away. Staff accommodated my request to stay an extra night without having to move to another room.
Review 34:The pool was outdoors with short hours. In the morning it was closed for repairs, very disAppointing to us. It was hot and humid and time for a swim.
Review 35:Air conditioning didn't remove much humidity. Room walls were pretty thin - if you have noisy neighbors next door you'll regret it.
Review 36:Price was reasonable for the DC metro area. Lots of parking. Several gas stations nearby. Motel was quiet, had a good breakfast bar and was convenient to I-66.
Review 37:The staff was super friendly and helpful. This hotel (by far!) has the best breakfast for a hotel and it is included.
Review 38:Good location. Transportation easy to use
Review 39:No thing

Review 69:Its location for our purposes
Review 70:Location is wonderful. This hotel is close to many restaurants. Highways are less than a minute away.
Review 71:front desk staff were rude
Review 72:Desk staff was extremely helpful with directions and other useful information. The breakfast was excellent with eggs, sausage, toast, fruit, etc.

Review 94:Fun, quiet and a friendly staff.
Review 95:Nothing
Review 96:Low key family type atmosphere
Review 97:Nothing.
Review 98:The breakfast and the pool.
Review 99:repair work to concrete structure by people who did not really know what they were doing decoratıon especially table cloths of the breakfast room.
Review 100:Carpet in the bedrooms, lack of "picnic grounds" : a few more tables would have been great, more washer/dryer. A maid forgot to clean our room one day, we got back late in the evening: keycards were not working, room hadn't been cleaned, went back to front desk, got new keycards, picked up new towels. Would have been great to see a discount on our invoice for the discomfort.
Review 101:Breakfast, wireless internet, pool was great, location not bad.
Review 102:Staff were exceptional at providing transportation information, particularly Paul and Sandra. Gloria kept the breakfast buffet well supplied and very good food provided.
Review 103:After seeing the first room they offered, I asked for a more convenient room since my husband is over 80 yrs. The young man said they were full and did not want to make any changes. However, there was a young woman who was more reasonable and eventually gave us a more convenient room. For about the same price the Mason Inn at GMU is much nicer.
Review 104:location and availability.
Review 105:The fan in my air conditioner motor made a dinging sound, like a muffled elevator bell all the time. During the day it was fine while the tv was on but at night it was unbearable and kept me awake almost all night.
Review 106:The food was good, the staff were eager to please and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Review 107:Shower didn't work properly. Water came out of shower head and faucet at same time, and tub filled with water to about 5 inches before finishing my shower.
Review 108:Awesome continental breakfast!
Review 109:This is the third time I have stayed at this Best Western - twice with my wife and once alone - and the facility suited us well. The rooms were nice, bed comfortable and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast. Great value for the cost! We will stay again.
Review 110:Decor dated Front desk missed my wake up call and the alarm clock radio did not go off so I was late to a job interview...I was pissed. That is absolutely unacceptable
Review 111:Price and location
Review 112:The door of the bedroom was not in good shape (hard to open) and it had a 'crack' above the knob like if someone tried to kick it.
Review 113:Hot breakfast, the package for member (water, protein bar and a fruit), the nice receptionist.
Review 114:Variety of food served @ Breakfast. Wanted to brag on the female employee who works in the dinning area. (don't know her name, embarrased I don't) She's very polite & friendly. I was traveling w/my elderly Mother who has limited mobility. She was very kind to make sure she had everything she needed. (ice cubes for her milk) I stayed there in June of '13, she worked there @ that time also. (please share this with her) We were there from 3/11 to 3/18
Review 115:staff did not receive my second rreservation for my son on 12/25/2013 but staff gave me the lower price
Review 116:Reasonable cost and 12/26 breakfast
Review 117:The heating system is far to loud. It comes on and sounds like a jetengine which disturbs a good night sleep. The bathroom sink faucet wasextremely hard to turn on and off. No hot breakfast at 7:30 am, hotitems were cold,
Review 118:Comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water for bath.Good location intown.Very clean room. Helpful information left for restaurants, etc.Good choices for free breakfast but hot items were cold at 7:30 am.Reasonable room rate.
Review 119:I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always found it to be very comfortable with everything i needed. The generous size, clean rooms all have WIFI, microwave, fridge, TV and coffee. Washing machines and dryers are readily available and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 120:I didn't like that the fan in the bathroom, it didn't pull allthe fog and all the hot air out during the shower. I was watching tv asmy girlfriend was taking her shower and the fire alarm detector went off3 times. 3 times I had to wave a towel in front of it to stop. I calledthe front desk to tell them about it, in case the alarm was connected. They said they never got a "warning" and thanked me to havecalled them to tell them about it and not to worry. I was told themaintenance guy would come by the next day.The next day the maintenance guy came by and explained that the building was so old that the air duck motor was on the roof and it couldn't pull all of the air out. That it was too expensive to add a motor individually in our room. He made one allusion that it was "too hot in our room", kind of winking as if since we looked to be a young couple, that it was "normal" that it was "too hot". He kept asking what he could do to make our stay "better". He was nice and very professional in his answers and it was much appreciated. He also said, it's illegal, but he could take out the batteries. The maintenance guy said "put a towel over the fire alarm next time you shower". I preferred to put a towel over it than to actually take out the batteries. He also told me the fire alarm isn't connected to the front desk. That means if the "batteries" are out and a fire starts, all of your guest could die in a fire? I find THAT alarming. I thought centralized fire alarm system would warn the front desk if a fire starts in a room. Or the front desk would at least call the room to ask if all is ok since the alarm went off more than once.Well, I just wanted "to be nice" so the fire alarm wouldn't go off for the whole building by calling the front desk. I didn't want to be explained that the building was so old it can't pull all of the hot air out.
Review 121:The room was nice and so was the staff
Review 122:We made a great choice in this hotel staff great very helpful at all times nothing a bother to them.Hotel very clean great breakfast and easy trip to the city via the underground
