Reviews for Best Western Dry Creek Inn
Review 1:Our room was over the conference/party room and was pretty loud at night. There were also some small kids tearing through the parking lot yelling
Review 2:The location is great and the room was beautiful with a jetted tub and fireplace.
Review 3:Dirty floors, noisy (Rm 334), overly booked wedding and wine touring groups so it was hard to find a table at the breakfast. No elevator to third floor room (we're seniors with some physical issues).
Review 4:Friendly staff, location to downtown Healdsburg (CA), clean bedding/towels.
Review 5:Internet connection was terrible called the 1-800 # they did not help.front desk could not help either. Heard another guest saying they had the same problem
Review 6:Nice place to stay
Review 7:The room was chilly even with the heater. We turned the heat on and went to dinner, came back and had to leave our coats on until we could shower to warm up. The maintenance man said the heater was working. The remote is not easy to understand however the following day, we felt some heat...
Review 8:The chain lock on the door was missing a piece and the heater wasn't warming the room but the front desk did send someone right away to try to resolve these issues. The room was comfortable and clean otherwise - good mattress and nicely decorated.
Review 9:My husband was enjoying the Spa Tub one evening when the overhead light fixture started leaking water onto him. About a quart of water came down. Told office when we checked out but they didn't seem too concerned.
Review 10:Quiet, convenient, & comfortable. Love the makeup Mirror.
Review 11:Shower door didn't close properly. Heating thermostat didn't work properly
Review 12:Lovely setting for the hotel. Jacuzzi tub. The breakfast was very good
Review 13:The proximity to the highway. Standard breakfast, with some additional hot items, i.e., as with most U.S. hotels, you certainly wouldn’t think you were in Europe.
Review 14:Stayed in newer building. Room was clean, reasonably appointed, with very comfortable bed.
Review 15:The bath/shower controls did not work properly - the water temperature knob was very hard to regulate and the water was very hot. The controls were old and in need of repair or replacement. Also, our booking info said we would have a microwave & fridge but there was no microwave?
Review 16:Room was very clean and bedding was nice and comfortable. Location is good.
Review 17:Poor location of room, poorly designed, terrible "breakfast" - was like a cattle call - breakfast Room too little for all the guests. This "motel" is on a corner between a highway and a city street. Just UGH! Noisy A/C unit rattled all night. They give the Booking.com people the worst rooms in the place.
Review 18:Nothing! This was hotel such a disappointment and falsely advertised. No o e cared about our complaints. Tub did not drain and even though we called for help, no one bothered to come fix it.
Review 19:We booked a spa room. When we checked in they said due to plumbing problems they did not have a spa room available. We had to stay at a regular room and take what ever discount they would give us. At 5 pm you do not have much of a choice. The next morning we checked with the desk and the manager was supposed to call back. We left our name and number, but got no call. When we got back late in the day the. Manager gave us a small discount for Saturday and larger one for Sunday, non-negotiable. We complained to their customer service and they gave us a few loyalty points. I would not recommend this property nor any Best Western again
Review 20:The channels on the tv were messed up,not what was on guide. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the refrigerator wouldn't come on.
Review 21:We really enjoyed the bed.
Review 22:Very mediocre breakfast for anyone interested in healthy food. Coffee ok for fast food outlets, not so much for $250/night rooms including taxes. For really good coffee and food, go to the Shed in downtown Healdsburg. Poor rating on room details: In-room food area is in the bathroom! Cheapest, tiniest frig inside unvented box (gets overheated). Coffee maker is two cup pod. No microwave, so no way to heat water to make a decent cuppa yourself, or to prepare snack foods (4 nights with three adults and 2 very small children in room). Cracks in bathroom tile, single bent towel rack, with no space to store clean towels. Clean and nice beds, but for the price, even in wine country, we expected significantly better designed amenities. Chocolates on the bed? You gotta be kidding.
Review 23:Good location, great heated pool and hot tub (although overly chlorinated during our stay). Clean and impressive facilities, until you get to your room.
Review 24:Breakfast finished at 10 am, by 9.55 the staff had cleared everything and were putting chairs up on tables which was rather unwelcoming to those still finishing breakfast!
Review 25:A very comfortable and well set out room. Very Nice hotel.
Review 26:to "sides" of hotel---side by road and gas station is where we were put---room was tired, no robe for walk to hot tub and pool. front desk staff was not friendly
Review 27:location was convenient in Healdsburg and to Dry Creek
Review 28:We stayed on the 2nd floor and could hear the loud noise coming from the room above us. Complained to the front desk - very nice guy named Alex, and he tried his best to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, the people above us were all drunk. Breakfast staff started putting up the chairs/cleaning up even though we are still eating. They stopped serving at 10:00 am., but I find it not acceptable that they are cleaning while people are eating. The location is not that nice. Our car was scratched overnight.
Review 29:We love the cleanliness of the room.
Review 30:*Hotel way over priced - its not a luxury nor boutique hotel by any means *Even though we had three guests in our room, they supplied only two towels and one hand towel. We had to call every day for more. They were very quick to respond with more towels. *The soap and shampoo were very cheap. Glad I had my own. Also one tiny bar of soap for sink and shower. Not good. *The shower did not work in our room. We called to report and maintenance did come quickly. He got a tiny stream to come out and said it was fixed. We asked for a new showerhead. He could not supply it that night but came back the next day to install a new one. It worked perfectly after the replacement. *The walls are very thin and you can hear voices and noises through the walls. *The a/c did cool nicely but roars like a truck engine all the time. Very old system. *Free breakfast...OK, but you probably want to consider going elsewhere if you want more than a bagel. The breakfast was second rate at best. *The TV sound was awful. The volume has a control on it so it will only operate in the ranges they have designated. it was either too loud or too low.
Review 31:Healdsburg has a great downtown area with some good restaurants. Highly recommend Boci. This hotel has a very nice location with adequate parking. Hotel staff was very responsive to the issues we experienced. The beds were comfy. My concerns about this hotel are listed below. This hotel is WAY overpriced. It is by no means a luxury or boutique hotel.
Review 32:Breakfast was quite good for being "free" but the room and seating are hard to maneuver in morning rush hour. The location is good, but roadwork during the time of our visit made it a little difficult.
Review 33:This hotel was almost perfect in every way. Clean, comfortable, updated facilities, and friendly, helpful staff.
Review 34:Facilities need work. Our jetted tub leaked into the room below. Air conditioning was temperamental
Review 35:Perfect location. It is pet friendly. Central location for all Sonoma wineries.
Review 36:I had booked two rooms (and paid, as I thought, half in advance). However, when we arrived, they had only one on their records, and it was only when I showed the booking confirmation that the second one was acknowledged. (It turned out that I had paid in full for one room, rather than 50% for both.) All done quite pleasantly, but an unnecessary glitch at the outset. Breakfast was the usual Best Western offering - OK, but a bit dull, in a very crowded and noisy dining room.
Review 37:Comfortable room, with an excellent bed and good bathroom. Fireplace. Pleasant staff. Attractive buildings and garden areas, though noisy by the pool, where our room was located.
Review 38:Fan/ heating system in room was so loud I woke up each time it cycled on. i could not figure out how to turn off. If I had stayed a 2 nd night I would have changed rooms
Review 39:A little far to walk to Healdsburg Square, but a good location. Nice hot tub, pool, and sauna amenities
Review 40:Unresponsive staff, when we checked in they told us they were having troouble with the hot water and it would be of from 12pm to 6am. No problem, but it never fully came back on, we could get hot water out of the faucet and after a while out of the tube faucet, but the shower no. When I went the second day to check on the status of the repair, I was told by the clerk that no one had complained and that it would require a plummer, did we want to move rooms. At that point we were checking out the next day and I said no.
Review 41:nice property, clean with nice rooms
Review 42:Adjoining rooms are noisy. You can hear everyone outside the room as if they were directly inside. You could hear the people upstairs walking around as if they were pounding but they weren't. We travel a lot and don't usually experience the noise like we did here. The staff was not helpful with switching rooms in any way and also said they were sold out, come to find out they weren't. Checked out after one night due to no sleep.
Review 43:Property was beautiful
Review 44:Left article of clothing in dresser called later that night to ensure it was there an was hung up on first call, called again an was told couldn't do anything about it until next day as manager would be there then.
Review 45:It was on the pricey side, especially with the pet fee, and the breakfast was mediocre. We were really surprised there were no wine glasses in the room, given that the facility clearly caters to guests enjoying a visit to the wine country.
Review 46:Super comfortable room. We enjoyed the fireplace and the spa tub.
Review 47:This is a resort town so I asked the front desk staff what there was to do around town. Literally, the only things they could come up with was eating and drinking. I've never been anywhere that the front desk staff couldn't recommend places to go and things to see in the area. Plus, they used reconstituted powdered eggs for the scramble. It tasted awful. The bread was stale.
Review 48:The work out room was clean.
Review 49:No staff to assist with luggaga. So-so breakfast in a very unappealimg. noisy room. Icy swimming pool right next to noisy highway. Unhelpful staff.
Review 50:Plenty of parking. Good location. This is a popular place that is way over-rated. Badly needs updating.
Review 51:Very noisy, not there fault , room was closest to road and petrol station. Didn't worry us but some could find it very annoying
Review 52:Facilities and was clean and comfy
Review 53:The property grounds were not well maintained/dirty. It created a sour first impression. Maybe due to water restrictions? Pricey, too. Perhaps we just picked a very popular weekend with elevated rates.
Review 54:Location. Comfort of bed. Courtyard with fire pit.
Review 55:Had to pay too much extra per night to get a room in the 'newer' section. Likely paid too much booking it on line. Paid LESS in S. F. for a room in an older hotel right on Union Square!
Review 56:Breakfast choices were OK and the location was extremely convenient to the wineries and the highway.
Review 57:Hottub wasn't hot hardly warm and the breakfast cleanup staff was cleaning up at ten sharp and it certainly would have been nice if they waited for guests to finish breakfast.
Review 58:Convenient location, easy on/off freeway, exactly what we needed as a stopover for a night before heading onward. We requested the top floor at the back, and we were not bothered by traffic or other noises. Clean, comfortable king-sized bed; refrigerator useful. Plain furnishings, but attractive window cornice, curtain and bedspread.
Review 59:The air conditioner was so loud even when I turned it off it made loud noises. The room was pretty pricey for a best western, I feel they overcharge. I didn't eat the breakfast because it looked very basic and we wanted something nicer.
Review 60:I liked the outdoor decor, the fireplaces and Tuscan look was really nice. The room was clean and nice and had a jet tub. I didn't use the pools or hot tub because they were too crowded but they seemed nice.
Review 61:Our first room was dirty and they gave us the wrong key twice so we had to go to the front desk four times before we got our room.
Review 62:I liked the hotel grounds, they have nice pools, courtyards, fountains, fire pit, etc. we upgraded our room for only $20 and it was well worth it, the upgraded rooms are very nice!
Review 63:A small thing, needed to ask for coffee pot and a fourth towel, easy fixes
Review 64:The facilities...pools, jacuzzi, laundry and breakfast. Close to restaurants and shopping and great referrals by the staff.
Review 65:There are two buildings. We were in the one in front, which appears to be older. The pictures online are a little deceiving. The room was fine, but the gas station in front of the hotel gets rather loud in the early morning. Seemed like a lot of trucks with air brakes stopped in.
Review 66:Room was clean and certainly for the cost it was a good value.
Review 67:The coffe was terrible and granola stale. A police car idling in the parking lot talking to a young woman for what seemed like forever made for a sleepless second night..,
Review 68:Staff friendly. Close to downtown.
Review 69:Hotel is on main road- was a little loud in am.
Review 70:Great value for a wine country get away. Free hot breakfast, nice staff, comfy beds and super warm pool.
Review 71:Rooms a little hard to find & no instruction from the front desk.
Review 72:Beautiful room. Fire place & jacuzzi tub in room. Didn't have a chance to use the pool or hot tub. Breakfast was a little better than usual. Nice big room & ladies kept everything full.
Review 73:Slightly further than expected into Healdsburg. An hotel shuttle would be really convenient.
Review 74:Really comfortable bed and soft sheets. Great breakfast. Lovely pools. Very convenient to be able to do some washing.
Review 75:Basically it felt like a motel posing as a higher end hotel. Rooms were dull decor, external buildings were ugly with some naff faux-Italian decor. Swimming pool was nice but basically in the middle of a car park. Location was further out of town than we thought it would be. It's basically on a main road a good 25-30 minute walk to centre of Healdsburg.
Review 76:The fact that there was a swimming pool. Big comfy bed, large room. Gave us good recommendations for vineyards with tasting coupons. Cheap compared to other Healdsburg places perhaps, but overpriced for what you get.
Review 77:Room in a corner next to a road. Felt like cars and trucks were in my room (in particular a truck unloading at 6AM). Requested a 3rd floor room, they said fine but gave me a lower floor anyway. Very pricey for what it offers.
Review 78:Very clean room. Abundant breakfast (although not particularly good either).
Review 79:The elevators were filthy. The rugs were dirty and metal at the entrance were really dirty and they smelled.
Review 80:The rooms were clean, the staff was courteous
Review 81:No complaints
Review 82:The best Best Western i've stayed in in California by far! Amazing hotel/motel done in a fantastic spanish villa style at an affordable price. Way above expectations. The Wine tasting by a local vineyard was awesome!
Review 83:- No real windows: windows face a corridor being very bad for privacy and no natural light (had to turn on lights all the time > greenhouse gas negative impact) - Weak wifi - Breakfast room small and chaotic
Review 84:Location close to good vineyards
Review 85:Was a little disappointed they didn't have a shower cap as part of the toiletries.
Review 86:The location is absolutely brilliant being so close to downtown, It's also close to all the wineries. Great hotel!
Review 87:I seen a few people with dogs. Makes me think that I may have stayed in a room that had dogs in it. A little to close to freeway. Road noise at the pool was apparent.
Review 88:Breakfast, room seemed clean and quiet. More than one pool and hot tub. Courtyard was nice and a lot of leisure areas with seating and fire-pits.
Review 89:Second visit—needed room with two queen beds—not available in the newerbuilding. Had to stay in the older build. It was filthy. Dust, leftoverfood, and cardboard pieces on floor behind furniture (that they clearlynever move to clean.) Carpet soiled. Stains on lamp shades and bathroomtile. Completely gross.
Review 90:My first visit, (single queen) the room was fine. Clean. Large bathroomwith soaking tub. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about.
Review 91:Bed is too high to sit on easily. No grip bar in shower and not enough towel racks .
Review 92:Location is great, breakfast very good and staff is very accommodating. We'll be back & ask for a handicap room. We might bring our small dog which is another plus for the hotel. C
Review 93:I stayed in a pet friendly room. The next morning after my one night stay I took my dog on leash to the breakfast room. I was not allowed in the room to get my "free breakfast". I was told to tie up my dog outside. I replied that he would bark. The hotel has many rules for pets-one is no barking. I asked if I could just get a cup of coffee? No deal. It was only 6:30 am and only hotel employees were in the breakfast room. I am a widow and often travel alone. If I'm not supposed to leave my dog in the room alone, and he's forbidden to bark, I guess I can't have breakfast in this "pet friendly" hotel. We drove to a bakery downtown to eat.
Review 94:The only downside to my stay was the staff yelling to each other at seven in the morning through the halls. Echoes and loud noises that early wasn't nice.
Review 95:We asked for a quiet room and while we got situated on a more secluded upper floor, it was right next to Healdsburg Avenue, so the car noise was very evident. We suspect getting an internal room would solve the problem. Next time.
Review 96:The rooms are absolutely lovely for a bargain hotel, and we didn't expect the spa-like experience. Much of the property is dotted with cyprus trees, and the architecture has echoes of Italy. Nice.
Review 97:The food could have been better. Eggs and pancakes cooked to order would have made this a truly luxurious stay.
Review 98:The courtyard that opens to a garden with waterfalls, seating area, jacuzzi, and saunas. Easy check in and the location was great.
Review 99:Our previous stays were in the newer building, overlooking courtyard with patios, etc. Very disappointed this trip to be in the older building with our room facing the busy street and very loud. Room right across from elevator.
Review 100:Enjoy the comfy beds, pools, etc. Breakfast is more than enough to get started with a day of wine tasting!
Review 101:EV Charging station was difficult to use and expensive--we took the car to a charger closer to town that was free and charged while we had dinner. Breakfast was poor--we ate at restaurant close by.
Review 102:Location, nice staff, comfortable room
Review 103:Trail to town is really too long to be attempted by seniors and staff should advise accordingly. Winery coupon to Rosenblum unusable as Winery has closed as of April 2015. (staff advised)
Review 104:Pool, breakfast, comfort of room
Review 105:Nothing to dislike, but you about a twenty minute walk from the main square - easily walkable along a dedicated path called the Foss Way which is designed for cyclists and walkers. Lovely feel to the town. We can also recommend Spokes for bike hire.
Review 106:Lovely architectural design, coupe of lovely pools, excellent breakfast (although very busy!) Healsburg is a lovely well heeled town. If you go wine tasting, the key is to use business cards, or referrals. The BW recommends Medlake and Ames, and if you give them a mention, or better still take their card from reception, you get an excellent complimentary wine tasting.
Review 107:Sunday night is the only night I want a television and this property didn't have CBS. Bummer for me.
Review 108:It was comfortable, updated, clean...a nice stop-over on our way north. It you had kids the pool area looked nice and had lounging area to have a glass of wine in wine country. Breakfast really good!!
Review 109:The blue flashing light from the wifi on the ceiling which is apparently only in some of the rooms… very bright during the night for sleeping. Otherwise everything was great!
Review 110:Quiet, clean, comfortable, great value for the $!
Review 111:Cleanliness and spaciousness of Toscano rooms were very satisfactory and I am anal about cleanliness; Toscano rooms updated nicely...the bed was very comfortable! Conveniently located. The coffee at breakfast was very good, but the eggs were disgusting.
Review 112:No complaints. Don't let the "Italian-themed" photos fool you, though... it's an older property with some window dressing, and most or all rooms have exterior doors (ala older motels). But it was good service and good value.
Review 113:If you aren't insisting to stay in the more expensive Healdsburg town center, this is a good value, and there is a nice walking path to town (about 1 mile). Also very convenient access from Hwy 101 and close to many Russian River and Geyserville wineries.
Review 114:Breakfast was OK, not great. Apparently there is a new wing but that wing doesn't accommodate 2 queen beds. Couldn't watch movies in our old rooms.
Review 115:Loved the walking trail to downtown Healdsburg. Rooms were spacious.
Review 116:Bathrooms small and dated. No makeup mirror. Plugs for charging few and in awkward places in room. Quality of breakfast items like the scrambled eggs and muffins. Narrow parking spaces.
Review 117:I Feel price for dog fee is high
Review 118:Pet friendly . This was my second stay really loved the room clean, comfortable great for the price I will be back thankyou !!
Review 119:Too numerous to mention so will just describe the worst. The door to the room did not fit the frame and cold air flowed into the room all night. The heat register could not be adequately set so the temperature was either freezing or the heat blasted you out.
Review 120:Nothing.
Review 121:Noise - we could hear all conversations at the parking lot and all movements in the next room
Review 122:Convenient location, close to freeway and wineries, comfortable bed, bid room, helpful staff, nice simple breakfast.
Review 123:The registration person didn't want to apply my Best Western rewards number because I booked from booking.com. In all other hotels of this chain my rewards were applied.
Review 124:Breakfast was good, rooms were clean, the location of the hotel was convenient
Review 125:Hot tub was not hot til last morning of stay. Advertised 32 - 37 inch LED tv, and sitting area. Our room had neither, TV was 21 inches and 20 years old with a fuzzy picture. Was told by staff that they were in the process of upgrading and just hadn't gotten to that room yet.
Review 126:Free breakfast was well done.
Review 127:Uncomfortable bed. Skip breakfast. You will find much better options in town.
Review 128:The staff was helpful in accommodating our request to change rooms when we were unhappy with our first set of rooms. The new room was much better.
Review 129:Water flow of the shower was very very low almost none.
Review 130:Property centrally located, clean, offers hot breakfast, friendly staff. We were even able to check in early
Review 131:Bathroom could use a bit of TLC. Tub faucet pulling away from wall, a couple of ants, here and there, shower curtain drooping. Minor things that could (and should) be taken care of by maintenance.
Review 132:Comfortable room and bed. Good location for town and wine touring. Price fair. Breakfast good.
Review 133:The shower knob broke so we had no water I told the front desk and they never fixed it. I feel they should have offered a key to another room or taken some money off but when I complained they said the room was paid for because I did it through booking.com. And they couldn't offer anything
Review 134:Breakfast buffet uses too much disposable cutlery and plastic cups -- bad for the environment.
Review 135:Beds, bathroom countertops and fixtures, clean carpeting.
Review 136:Dead bed bug on pillow. Room reeked of smoke even though it was non-smoking. Rooms are dated and way overpriced--I'd rather sleep in my car.
Review 137:Friendly staff, plenty of parking
Review 138:The horrid duvets that seem to be everywhere. Even with the heat turned way down it is so hot under these things. There should always be an alternative for example a blanket to put on the beds.
Review 139:The Inn was very comfortable. The owners take great pride in this facility and it shows. It's large which is good and bad because it's sometimes hard to get to your room. The breakfast was excellent.
Review 140:This hotel is one of our favorite places to stay on our way home from holiday travels. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is friendly, the price is right. And a free breakfast before driving home is great. Thanks.
