Reviews for Heritage Hotel Lancaster
Review 1:The staff was very pleasant & knowledgeable in regard to places to see & do. The room was very clean & had all the amenities that we needed. Very comfortable.
Review 2:The odors from cooking onions somewhere near our room. Our clothes ended up smelling like onions.
Review 3:They made sure to have our room ready before the 3pm check-in time. The pool was beautiful.
Review 4:We were given a room that was already occupied by another guest. We walked into a room where a guest was sleeping and started to yell at us, probably as surprised as we were! Spiders in room.
Review 5:A small hiccup during check-in but the manager arrived to resolve it personally & quickly.
Review 6:We booked this room on the fly, about 5 hours before we arrived. Perfect location, friendly staff, super comfy beds, excellent on-site restaurant. We were surprised & extremely pleased.
Review 7:Hotel located across the street from a dog food factory and the air around the exterior of the hotel smelled like dog food.
Review 8:Nice restaurant on site, convenient walk to shops. Room was clean and had expected conveniences.
Review 9:You have a step down coming out of the building where were housed. We both had a serious jar coming out..Someone with a bad back could really have problems. I'd suggest putting in a rail or some warning signs.
Review 10:Staff responsiveness.
Review 11:Very Friendly and Helpful Staff, Super comfy beds!! Loxleys bar is a great spot to have some drinks. 30 craft beers on tap. whats not to like. The restaurant gives 5% of your tab to charity. I will be back.
Review 12:Lock on bathroom door broke and was stuck in bathroom for 45 minutes until maintenance broke the door jam to get me out. Heat had been set on high prior to my arrival so bathroom was like a sauna.
Review 13:Comfy beds, clean.
Review 14:Over priced room. The cleaning staff have the people skills of a lump of coal. And did I say the room was over priced.
Review 15:Location was good, bar was awesome.
Review 16:Overall good hotel room. We stayed there because it was much cheaper than staying closer to the attractions. There were some attempts to update the room but it still felt a little dayed
Review 17:No indoor pool The exercise room had an awful odor (rubber smell) Equipment is in poor condition
Review 18:The room was very comfortable, free wi-fi and the restaurant/bar was convenient.
Review 19:No Complaints. Checkin and Checkout were painless, rooms were clean and quiet, wifi was fast.
Review 20:Good location, just off major highway, close to a few restaurants (in house restaurant and at least two others are literally walking distance), minutes from downtown Lancaster and Strasburg.
Review 21:The restaurant was serving a turkey buffet and nothing else. We had to wait until 5 o'clock to order off the menu.
Review 22:The rooms were up to date and clean. The refrigerator was very, very big and I was surprised by having a microwave as well.
Review 23:The halls' carpeting wasn't as clean as the rooms.
Review 24:The staff were accommodating and always friendly. The rooms were clean and well maintained, possibly due to recent renovations. The restaurant had well made food with a good selection to meet various diets. The breakfast buffet was above average both in selection and quality.
Review 25:All was good
Review 26:Room was very cozy.. Bed was the most comfortable bed in any hotel I have ever stayed.y husband and I went to Sight and Sound and decided to make it a weekend getaway.
Review 27:it was cozy, just right for our needs at time, really enjoyed having a full size sitting chair to sit/relax, even though room description said no refrigerator, to our surprise there was one! will probaly go back in summer sometime to use pool ect.just
Review 28:Nothing but it's not a high end fancy place just a good hotel.
Review 29:Loxley's restaurant is great for breakfast and dinner. We didn't eat lunch but I'm sure that's good too. Staff is friendly. Bed is comfortable.
Review 30:Wi-fi was horrible. Couldnt stay connected. Was told that to many people were trying to access it. Was given an 800 number to call and it didnt help either. Outside bar heat was not working. Was told that it was on but not working. It was cold.
Review 31:Awesome outside and inside bar. Great staff Reasonable drink prices
Review 32:I was surprised there was no coffee or tea provided in the lobby as this is the first place we have ever stayed where there was none. We couldn't tell which door was the main entrance and spent some time walking in the rain finding out.
Review 33:I found our room to be clean and with a generous supply of towels. It was quiet affording a good nights sleep.
Review 34:Some outlets were broken. Trying to charge phone. At restaurant I ordered WELL done hamburger it was very red inside. Waitress never came to ask how food was. So by the time she came over everyone else was already done. I didn't have time to order new one.
Review 35:Room was very clean.
Review 36:I had reservation's and they did not have my room ready. 90 minuet's late. Parking lot was poorly lit. No safe for valuable's. I would expect a banana or cold cereal for the price of the room! I could go on but......
Review 37:House cleaner's were all very nice! Room service and food from Loxley's was great!
Review 38:We stayed here for 4 nights. This hotel was in need of some serious updating. Mold in the bathroom, faucet in the tub was out of the wall. Very noisy in the halls and very thin walls. When I checked out she charged my card 300.00 more than she should of. She said that is what the charge is per night I told her I had booked through Booking.com she had to look up the registration on Booking.com website. I feel this hotel is a step up from a Super8 Motel. Definately not worth the money they charge.
Review 39:The hotel has a great restaurant next door
Review 40:The room was ok, nothing above par (never had coffee condiments, no extra type of toiletries (shower cap, qtips, etc). The exercise room equipment was from the 90's , at best, and the only updated piece did not have the electronics working!)
Review 41:The location for our needs was perfect
Review 42:I was on the second floor where the tour buses loaded and unloaded. How long and how well you could sleep depended on the tour group. One day, the bus left at 7 so it was very noisy from 6:15 a.m. on.
Review 43:It has easy access to the highway so it is easy to get into Lancaster and it is easy to get to the Harrisburg airport.
Review 44:Went with a group of friends and when some checked in they were given rooms that were already occupied. Also it was very smoky. We were told it was an exhaust problem from the adjoining restuarant's kitchen. I had a room on the 2nd floor and it was still very strong smelling. My friends on the 3rd floor had no smell.
Review 45:Room was clean and the beds were comfy. Restuarant staff was very nice.
Review 46:The room was crouded. The lighting was insufficient. there was a table but no chair. the bath water was mislabeled. (Hot and cold were switched) couldn't connect my Kindle to internet if not for staff cellphone hotspot.
Review 47:The staff were wonderful in all respects.
Review 48:Expensive Breakfast, was charge additional $ just in case we wanted to charge meals to the room-although we had no intentions..they didn't even ask me first.
Review 49:Comfortable accommodations, easy highway access, friendly staff
Review 50:Very small bathroom - no towel racks - anywhere! Very quiet room - no sound from rooms on either side or below (we were on the top floor so can't comment on noice from above!) However, as is so often the case, in many hotels, corridor noise comes in through the door! Every time someone closed their door or spoke in the hall you could hear it!
Review 51:Excellent location for our needs. Convenient to Lancaster attractions. Quiet - no traffic noise - see "con" side for interior quietness report. Looking a little rundown in spots. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Review 52:Clean room, great location. We come to Lancaster to visit family some four to six times a year. We don't look to stay anywhere else. The staff is always friendly, and the rooms are always clean. We stay on Holidays, and the hotel is always nice and quiet. While my ratings are harsh, I honestly can't say enough good things about this hotel.
Review 53:Front desk receptionist upon my arrival was a little impatient seem as if she did not want to be bothered with me, I was wondering if it was the color of my skin. She kept cutting me off and answered the phone in my presence while I was at the counter guest. And made me wAit until she finished the call. The way she did it was discourteous. After I went yo my room, I called the front desk to enquire about a microwave she placed me on hold for at least. 5 minutes on purpose. I felt a little disappointed on that day.
Review 54:Restaurant staff was very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant manager was very welcoming and. courteous. Manager showed concern for patrons comfort.
Review 55:The bathroom was a bit small; but that was ok, we were only there for one night! We didn't have any tissues in the bathroom, but I had my own. Every thing else was great!!
Review 56:It was a wonderful experience! Loved the Restaurant, food was awesome and all the staff at the hotel and restaurant! They were so friendly and helpful and also seemed to love their jobs! It showed on their faces! I would totally recommend this hotel and restaurant!
Review 57:Was disappointed that the room was changed from 2 beds to single and upon arrival there was concern about being able to find an appropriate room to switch it to. Drive hard to find as sign is behind trees.
Review 58:Staff were friendly but front desk not knowledgeable about elevator locations and handicap accessability.
Review 59:was disappointed that I couldn't get internet because my security system kept giving me a message that there were problems with your security certificate.
Review 60:Liked the attached restaurant that had live music on the weekend.
Review 61:staff couldn't answer questions I asked that they should know like what time is the bar open and restaurant, They didn't have an answer for me telling me they don't work on that side, They should know the answer, But everything else was great here just the front desk should know the questions the guest ask.
Review 62:the hotel was very clean and not to far from everything. I would come again.
Review 63:There was a group of loud obnoxious kids who were banging things around, yelling up and down the hall until around midnight. I called the front desk and they did nothing about it.
Review 64:The price was very reasonable and the beds were comfortable.
Review 65:our 1st room smelt of mold and cigarettes. the toilet bowl was not flushed and had urine and toilet paper in it. the staff gave us another room. the 2nd room did not smell. the next morning my wife woke up with something hurting her back. it was someone else's cell phone cover. then we realized those sheets were not washed. DISGUSTING!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!
Review 66:the staff was so nice
Review 67:One of the reason we chose this hotel was the on site restaurant & bars. However, no one ever indicated that making a reservation would be needed. We had to leave the property to go eat & drink because the wait was outrageous. Hotel guests should have priority over locals who show up for dinner. The restaurant was the reason we picked this hotel & then we couldn't even eat there.
Review 68:Our room & especially our bed were amazing. The hallways & main areas, such as elevators could use updating.
Review 69:We had to call housekeeping at 430pm to come make up the room.
Review 70:Our queen room had a frig and coffee maker. All the rooms seemed to have a comfy reading chair as well. The restaurant attached to this motel has excellent food for dinner. Be aware that on busy nights wait times can be long as it is a popular place. The breakfast buffet is a good value.
Review 71:The only thing we didn't like was the breakfast buffet at the restaurant. I'm sure it was very good, and perhaps "didn't like" is a bit harsh. I have a disability, and just don't like doing the buffet thing. The hostess offered to go through and fix a plate, which was very kind, and I appreciated her offer, as this was something they probably wouldn't normally do. Just my attitude.
Review 72:We liked the staff, room, and location. We only rated these items as good, because there could always be improvements. We stay there frequently whenever we go do Lancaster. We have family nearby, and look forward to this hotel.
Review 73:Some of the front desk staff do not have a customer friendly attitude. Called down one evening after 9pm when someone knocked on our door waking us asking if we smoke. Apparently someone called down complaining they smelled smoke. Asked the desk staff if they sent their staff to inquire. The person who answered was curt and rude. The children's pool had plenty of debris when our grandchild wanted to go in. Since it is an outdoor pool this needs to be cleaned frequently during the day.
Review 74:Spent long weekend with our family including our 4 year old grandaughter. The location is ideal for day trips to various sights and amusements. Just a short drive to Hershey Park and Dutch Wonderland and the Amish tourist spots. The restaurant has good selection even for vegetarians. The Koi pond was a hit for our grandaughter.
Review 75:The beds were like rocks. If you like a hard bed this is the hotel for you. Sadly we were there when some kind of sports team were. They were loud, rude and totally out of control until midnight. We were traveling with our grandchildren to see Dutch Wonderland and were very upset that no one could sleep because of all the yelling, screaming and banging up and down the hall.
Review 76:We liked the location, friendly staff and appearance.
Review 77:See above as combined.
Review 78:We enjoyed our special request for a more secluded and or quiet room but was a little surprised since it was noted to be a " newly renovated room" and found the bathroom to be cleaned but showing signs of peeling paint at the baseboards and chopped paint in the tub along with someone else's hair left behind. Other wise the room was nice and would consider staying again and possibly recommending.
